“like the love child of The Ramones and Supergrass.” – Arun Kendall, Backseat Mafia
Melbourne raconteurs The Grogans return in all their laconic glory on their all out audio visual psych trip ‘Inside My Mind’. Filling the big shoes of the trio’s recent success with their 7’’ double A-side singles ‘Just A Kid’ and ‘Be Your Man’—collectively added to Spotify’s New Music Friday AU & NZ, Fresh Finds AU & NZ and Local Noise playlists—‘Inside My Mind’ continues The Grogans’ prolifically inventive and pigeonhole-defying style in a bluesy psych trip of epic proportions. To celebrate the release, Quin, Gus and Jordy, are thrilled to announce an upcoming Australia New Zealand tour this winter, heading to Tasmania, Sydney, Melbourne, Perth, Adelaide, Brisbane, Byron Bay, Christchurch, Auckland and Wellington.
Out today via Cousin Will Records in tandem with a kaleidoscopic new video accompaniment, ‘Inside My Mind’ navigates perceived misconceptions and irrational thoughts in a woozy fuzz fest of swampy blues and surf psych. The song’s lucrative reverberations and hazy delay are exemplified by the Jackson Hayat directed clip with glistening colourful visuals by Nathaniel Stewart in a fever dream feast for the senses. Be sure to join the band tonight at 6pm AEST as they go live on their Youtube to join their fans in the video’s official release.
“The concept behind Inside My Mind’s music video was to create a set that made it look almost as if we were performing inside our own heads. The installation + projections build on this concept further, as when each of us are playing on our own within the installation, it is as if our minds are clogged up with our own thoughts (in this case, colours). These shots are then mixed in with the shots of the three of us all playing together, those shots are a lot less dense, with the colours / projections working together to create beautiful visuals without much at all getting in the way.” – The Grogans
nside my mind is a track that has been around for years. I believe it was written sometime between 2016/2017. This song is based on that anxious feeling you might get from making up irrational things in your head but understanding they are just fake perceptions you’ve created. The whole song (lyrically and sonically) is a different feel for this album following the last two singles, but our albums tend to normally dip into a few different genres, reflecting the three of our different influences.” – The Grogans
Having just completed a massive sold out Australian tour with Hockey Dad, as well as performing at Sailor Jerry’s Road to Rolling Stone concert alongside Eliza & The Delusionals and The Terrys, The Grogans are in fine form and raring to go for their biggest tour to date kicking off this June across three months at major cities across Australia and New Zealand. Do not miss your chance to catch this rising chameleon act as they perform songs from their expansive surf, punk, blues and reggae catalog this winter.

‘Inside My Mind’ Lyrics
I should have been lonely, according to all the facts.
I should have felt something, I felt it inside my chest.
Must have been a thing inside my mind because I can’t seem to find it ‘round here.
Must have been a thing inside my past because I can’t seem to find it ‘round here.
And I thought I was upset, from all the things you did to me.
I realised something, all the things were in my head.
Must have been a thing inside my mind because I can’t seem to find it ‘round here.
Must have been a thing inside my past because I can’t seem to find it ‘round here.
It’s in my head, It’s screwing up my head.
I hoped for peace of mind instead.
Must have been a thing inside my mind because I can’t seem to find it ‘round here.
Must have been a thing inside my past because I can’t seem to find it ‘round here.
Perth Western Australia
How did you first start playing music?
I have my earliest memories of wanting my parents to buy me a guitar when I was 5 and then I ventured into drums and other instruments as I got older
What’s been happening recently?
Not much really just living my best life.
You’re back to playing music again after a 3 year hiatus from releasing music, please tell us what you’ve been up to and why did you choose to release music again?
Yes, well I have been through a lot the last few years focusing on other projects, playing shows in bands and dealing with personal things, but now being in the best form of myself mentally and physically i felt like it was time to show the world again what I’ve been quietly working on.
How has your musical journey developed in the last 3 years?
Its been crazy, taking a break served me well, i recharged and came back to songwriting with more of a clearer vision and openness like never before, everything seems to flow easier for me now when it comes to writing.
Your single ‘Plateaus’ is out now, what influenced the sound and songwriting?
Soundwise i was influenced by the likes of John Mayer, John Frusciante, James Blunt, Travis to name a few, i wanted to capture a mellow rock kind of vibe but also wanted to go back to the melodic style of music that my first EP entailed, i feel its my true forte plus i also wanted to explore a jazzier sophisticated mature sound because at the time of writing i was hell into jazz guitar playing and diminished sounding chords appealed to me, lyrics was inspired by someone i was close with a few years ago.
How did you go about writing ‘Plateaus’?
One day i had the guitar chords pop into my head and i rushed to my studio to lay it down then within 30 minutes everything just fell into place, before i knew it i had a full song and thought well this is definitely going to be the new single.
Where and when did you record/produce/master and who with?
It was mid 2020 and i did it all myself in my home studio.
How did you approach the recording process?
I was a bit nervous because i stopped writing for a good 6 months before hand and didn’t know what to expect, so i approached it calmly with a vision in mind and i was happier it came out better than i envisioned, it was a very zen-like approach.
Please tell us about any new music that’s on the way:
Well i am working on a new album, so the plan is to have that out sometime next year hopefully, but nothing is set in stone as of yet, long way away from finishing it, you don’t rush these things, could i drop another single or 2 along the way? Maybe…see how things go.
Who are you listening to at the moment?
Tied Down, Igorrr, Trickfinger, DICE, Jimi Hendrix, Red Hot Chili Peppers, South Summit, Ra Ra Viper to name a few.
What do you like to do away from music?
I like hanging with friends and family.
What’s planned for the remainder of 2022?
Working on album number 2 and defs a few holidays can’t wait to travel again.
Favourite food and place to hangout?
I love pub feeds, anywhere with a good vibe.
If you have decided to take the greatest step in your life and ask your partner to spend eternity with you, the next thing on the list is to carefully plan a romantic marriage proposal. You should view this event, or better said, this moment, as a project that demands in-detail planning. Finding a perfect engagement ring is the first thing on the list, and it must be thoughtful, suitable, and meaningful. This is a piece of jewelry your partner will wear forever, so you must make a perfect pick. Luckily, there is a whole bunch of engagement ring ideas. So, no matter if you want to go with diamonds or some other gemstones, silver, gold, or platinum, you should not be worried that you will fail to find the ring your partner will absolutely adore, and here are some top designs to have in mind.
Diamond Rings
Women definitely love diamonds, and brides who want to be noticed will consider diamond wedding bands. There is something about diamonds, and the beautiful designs of these rings will make you fall in love with them. The best thing about diamond rings is their universal nature that will simply fit any style. If your future bride is into a minimalistic style, then they will be happy with plain bands and solitaire diamonds. If your fiancée craves attention, however, she will prefer halo engagement rings with large stones and patterned bands. Diamond rings come in various designs, with bigger and small stones, two-toned metals, and double paved bands. Your perfect pick depends solely on your bride’s taste.
Rings with Twisted Bands
If you want to add a bit of complexity to the ring and symbolize your love for the finest, then you should consider getting twisted bands. The deep meaning behind these bands is endless love and commitment, indicating infinite romance, and moments of love you will revive over and over again. Yet, this effective style is quite versatile and will let you play with different designs. The twisted band design goes well with any metal and stone, and you can pick the variation that will suit you the best. If you are more into simple designs, then you should consider getting a clean round-up twist. However, if you choose drama and sophistication, then double paved twisted bands with a big stone are the right picks for your wishes.
Simple Engagement Rings
Nothing can beat simplicity. If you like the sophisticated and elegant style and understand the essence of simplicity, huge stones and sparkles will not be your thing. There are many beautiful and simple engagement ring designs that will definitely match your style. If you want to make a perfect pick, then you should consider getting a simple, plain band with solitaire or round stone. Alternatives to this are metal colors and shapes such as princess, cushion, or trillion. Any of these are simple and elegant, leaving the impression of class and unmatched elegance.
Solitaire Center Stone Rings
These are classic picks when it comes to engagement rings, and this is because of a variety of reasons. These rings are rich and extravagant, immediately catch attention, and are the epitome of the bridal style. This ring is a perfect choice for every bride no matter the style and is unique because of the stone that is the focal point of the ring. This is the top engagement ring regardless of the shape you opt to. It does not matter if you take emerald, radiant, oval, pear, marquise shape, you will get the highest class, sparkle, and brilliance with this design.
Unique Engagement Ring Ideas
Loads of things contribute to the unique spirit of an engagement ring. Things such as stone, cuts, bands, and design, in general, can make it look unmatched. Unique engagement rings are a perfect choice for brides who are out of the frame and have authentic personalities. If you want to make your engagement ring stand out, then you should consider vintage designs and colorful gemstones, adding a bit of personality to the design.
Who Said It Should Be a Diamond?
You do not have to be pressured to get super expensive diamonds, despite the fact that diamonds are indeed girls’ best friends. Instead, you can get crystals such as amethyst, sapphire, or beautiful soft pearls. If you think that this ring will not be enough, you are so wrong. Engagement rings with crystals and pearls are equal in beauty to diamonds and will last for generations.
When choosing a perfect engagement ring, you need to go for a classy, sophisticated, and elegant design. You need to make the pick that will make your girl’s finger shine and make your most important day a wonderful one.

‘There is no doubt in my mind that Swims will emerge as one of the most important voices of this decade and beyond.’ – The Hype Magazine

‘Outrageously talented’ – James Cordon
Famous for his rich baritone, plentiful tattoos, and genre-crossing chameleon sound, Teddy (real name Jaten Dimsdale) has a following of millions, the singer just wrapping a sold-out, 33-date US tour this week, with a 20-date European leg this month. The numbers speak for themselves: 450 million+ streams globally, over 400 million YouTube views, fans spread right across the globe. Teddy Swims’ sound defies categorisation, but it sure puts a smile on your face: from soul to funk, gospel to country to R&B, it all comes back to that incredible voice. You can hear it on his just-released, retro Motown-vibed new single ‘dose’, or the viral hit ‘911’, the epic ‘Bed On Fire’ (viewed over 30 million times on TikTok), his country crossover hit ‘Broke’ (ft. Grammy nominated superstar Thomas Rhett), tracks such as ‘Love For A Minute’, and many more.

The grandson of a Pentecostal preacher, Teddy grew up inspired by Al Green and playing football, performing in metal, punk, and hip-hop outfits as a teen. In 2019 while living in Texas, encouraged by his father he started posting covers on YouTube. From Marvin Gaye, The Weeknd, Amy Winehouse, Billie Eilish and more, they were soon watched by millions, Swims’ later signing to Warner Music in 2020. 2021’s Tough Love EP immediately landed him on playlists, including Spotify’s New Music Friday, Retro Pop and Just Good Music, Amazon’s Platinum Pop and Fresh Pop, plus highlights on Tidal, Apple Music, and Pandora.

Following on from previous collaborative track ‘How Far We’ve Come’, today Melbourne/Naarm based producer artist YAAK teams up with Japanese/Australian singer-songwriter MIZUKI, who deliver an introspective, DnB/pop fusion ‘BREATHE’ via Hy-Lo and ON3. The track starts with an emotive edge that draws you in with a heartfelt vocal performance from emerging pop icon MIZUKI. The track opens up with a subtle delayed synth line that is then brought back to Earth with MIZUKI’s distinct vocal tone. The pre-chorus is where the influence of YAAK comes to the forefront before exploding into the chorus with the definitive DnB beat coming to fruition. The track remains at a mid tempo future pop slow burner that is equal parts danceable and equal parts graceful. The track showcases MIZUKI’s ability to bring the listener into her own musical world as well as YAAK’s deft touch for electronic soundscapes and textural ability.
The collaboration demonstrates strides into new musical territories for both artists with MIZUKI stepping into the dance-focused realm of YAAK whilst he opens up to the forward thinking pop of MIZUKI to create a stylistically versatile single that could be likened to other electronic masters like Yaeji or Pinkpantheress.
On the single, YAAK and MIZUKI expressed “the record is about being completely lost in yourself, almost to the point of not knowing that you need to be found, only for someone/something to come in and illuminate the darkness around you so that you can “breathe” again.”
Written shortly after MIZUKI’s move to Melbourne, ‘BREATHE’ serves as a chance to express the mixed emotions and feelings that come with new starts and big life changes. It’s a sign of the emotional maturity and reflection that MIZUKI holds. MIZUKI further shares, “we had been on and off with lockdowns and there were just so many mixed emotions brewing inside of me. I felt lost, I felt lonely, I felt sad, I made some incredible memories with some of my best friends – I basically just grew so much in that time. For most of my life, I had always felt this pressure inside of me to be strong and to not show vulnerability but somewhere along the way I also learnt that it’s okay to be sad and to be lost because in the grand scheme of things, it’s all just a part of the bigger picture.”
On ‘BREATHE’ YAAK details “the record came together at a really transformative moment in my life; I had just moved out of home, and it was my first time really starting to work with people outside of my camp. My first session with MIZUKI was like a breath of fresh air, we got along better than I think we both anticipated in terms of the music and personally, too. What followed was a bunch of sessions, and a bunch of records which ultimately birthed BREATHE. I feel that the production really gave me the opportunity to flex in the most subtle way possible. For anyone paying attention, there’s layers upon layers of detail; subtle, abstract textures dance across a lucid soundscape that support MIZUKI’s vocals but never take away from them. There’s this beautiful, synchronous relationship that exists between the production and the vocals, and I really believe that’s a testament to my relationship with MIZUKI.”
A former Beatport production contest winner and multidisciplinary artist and producer, YAAK has amassed millions of streams across platforms and received high praise across triple j, Pilerats, Acclaim Magazine, Happy Mag, Beat Magazine, and many more. Through his affinity for bass and rhythm music, coupled with a progressive pop and hip-hop sensibility, YAAK’s sound has evolved much from his debut EP offering ‘T I D E S’. With a tremendous enthusiasm to explore new soundscapes and production techniques, YAAK has gone on to release many records and collaborated with artists including Sam Bluer, Jalen Santoy, 506, and Jas.
An emerging artist making waves across the alt-pop / dance scene, MIZUKI has delivered a string of impressive singles ‘How Far We’ve Come’, and ‘Over The Sun’, having been supported across the likes Pilerats, Life Without Andy, Woman in Pop, When The Horns Blows, triple j’s Home and Hosed, Unearthed and FBi Radio. No stranger to a collaboration herself, MIZUKI has worked closely with the likes of Jacob Farah, Aaroon Dobos, Taka Perry, Tentendo, and with Jeremy Newall on his single ‘Waiting On You’. With her delicately soulful vocals, MIZUKI is quickly making a name for herself as one to watch.
On this release, two emerging Melbourne labels / collectives Hy-Lo Creative and ON3 Studio are also coming together to bring their shared ideology of music and community, to prove that through supporting and uplifting each other, anyone can succeed. Founded by YAAK a.k.a Jacob Trad, and George Yacoub, Hy-Lo Creative was formed in 2021 with the intention of helping budding artists navigate the (often) difficult music industry; providing the resources and support required to put their careers, and art into motion.. Similarly, ON3 Studio, founded by Aman Bayatly and Kishnel Chand in 2020 was launched as a music development and discovery collective, aiming to elevate the work of both established and emerging local acts. They operate a creative house in Brunswick, Melbourne which in its short tenure has quickly become a hub for creatives of all diverse backgrounds, locally and interstate to visit and work out of.
George and Kish from Hy-Lo and ON3 say of the release that “this collaboration between labels was to ensure that both artists get their shine, respectively. However it also gave us an opportunity to really highlight the emerging Melbourne scene, and we hope our shared collaborative ethos can inspire more to work together”.
YAAK & MIZUKI’s new track ‘BREATHE’ is out now via Hy-Lo and ON3.

He’s back! After a 3 year hiatus Frankie Crea returns with his latest single in 2022 – ‘Plateaus’.
Crea has made his presence known as a unique artist in his own right, captivating audiences along the way with his own songwriting and music that incorporates feel through his guitar playing. A definite stronghold in his artistry.
His musical journey started from the age of 5 begging his parents to buy him a guitar, by the age of 8 he was playing drums and any other instrument he could get his hands on. By the time he was 21 he was playing shows in his first band.
Now at 27, Frankie Crea has gigged and collaborated with numerous artists and continues to do so in his hometown of Perth, Western Australia. But when he is not focused on other musical projects, he focuses on music under his own name to which he started releasing in 2018. After a 3 year break from making solo music, he is back with a brand new single and its safe to say he is back strong.
‘Plateaus‘ is a return to his old favoured well known sound to the likes of his debut EP ‘Countless Days’ (released in 2018) that of which is Indie Rock. Diminished Jazzy chord type progressions run strong through the tracks verses, interwebbed with Hendrixy inspired licks, fills and basslines for days that intertwine with the guitar, backed by rocksteady drums that drives the songs juicy groove, the pre chorus vocal melody is rythmic and percussive mimicking the drums but yet packs a punch with a massive anthemic chorus which Frankie’s vocals shine through and that takes the ball home proud. Not to mention the numerous guitar solos that run through the middle and outro. Recorded, mixed and mastered in his home studio, it’s a must listen for any Indie Rock fan. Infact, anyone!.
Lyrically it delves into Frankie’s personal life, his own realisation of being faced with challenges but in the end things will be ok, and just like many of lifes challenges, we all run through “Plateaus” one way or another.
“I don’t know where I am heading/
But I know I’ll be running through Plateaus again/ ” – final closing lines of the catchy chorus in ‘Plateaus’.
“I feel like this is one of the best songs I’ve ever written. I feel that everyone faces challenges in life so we all go through good times, bad times, “Plateaus” if you will…but in the end It’s a reminder things will be ok if you stay true to yourself, so hopefully people can relate to this song, especially with everything going on in the world the last few years. For once in my life I personally felt satisfaction after writing and recording this song and then hearing it back for the first time, It’s one I finally feel proud of and I dont get that alot from the music I make. It’s a
breath of fresh air and I think having a long break from writing and making my own music has made me realise that“.
– Says Crea, to which he further elaborated on his hiatus from making his own music:
“I planned on having a break from doing my solo music after I wrapped up recording and releasing my first album back in 2019 as I was really burnt out from a six month non stop work period on finishing the album by a certain deadline. So I thought I will take a year off, but then the pandemic happened and while pretty much every musician I know used their lockdown and isolation time making music, I instead focused on other musical projects instead of my own stuff, which in turn gave me the inspiration to hit my own studio again after some time away and first thing I layed down was the verse guitar chords of Plateaus which came to me one day randomly. Before I knew it, I completed writing and recording that song in about thirty minutes and I didn’t look back or
change anything. It just wrote itself and it magically all fell into place naturally so I was really happy with the outcome. There is nothing more rewarding than making a vision inside your head come to life that far excedes the expectations of what you originally interpreted (thought of). So its great to be back and I cant wait to share this song with everyone, I feel It’s way overdue“.
Frankie Crea’s new single ‘Plateaus’ is now available on all online music platforms.

“‘handle’ is built upon a hypnotic kick drum beat and magnetic bass line, woven within spatial production that builds to an ominous pre-chorus heralded by maximalist synth work.” (MILKY)
“‘handle’ has a modern fidelity to it that stands out from your everyday modern pop vibe. Boasting some top shelf production this one gives off some raw emotion. Jungle like beats and melodies a top with hunter 505’s unique vocal delivery make this tune a modern day bop!” (AAA Backstage)
“It twists and writhes around in these dark rnb pop areas and i was there for the whole ride.”
[About ‘handle’] (Declan Byrne, Triple J)
“Didn’t take a long time to get a handle on this. Slick production, can see Drake taking on this beat.” [About ‘handle’] (Stacy Gougoulis, Triple J)
“This track ebbs and flows in a really cool way, I was nodding along instantly. You have such a cool sound, keep it coming!” [About ‘handle’] (Jess Perkins, Triple J)

With the release of single ‘tell ur friends’ bringing Perth’s Dulcie back to the fore for 2022, the trio have wasted no time in serving up their next dose of indie-pop goodness, this time in the dynamic ‘Nothing Left’.
A track that has allowed the group to delve further into the emotive and elevated songwriting, exploring new themes and sounds, ‘Nothing Left’ is delivered with confidence and a sense of self-assuredness that Dulcie have been winning crowds nationwide with during their recent tour with Ocean Alley; their largest performance run to date, with 40,000+ tickets sold.
Pulsating synths and percussion match beautifully with Dulcie’s harmonies, as lyrics detail the breakdown of a relationship and the inevitability of a situation that simply isn’t working.
“‘Nothing Left’ is about acknowledging the breakdown of a relationship. It’s the decision that it’s easier to walk away than to try to make things work. We’ve taken a pop direction with this new track, incorporating lots of new sounds and ideas.”
DULCIE
As a follow up to ‘tell ur friends’, ‘Nothing Left’ offers an interesting change of pace and brings Dulcie into different emotional territory. ‘tell ur friends’, with its sass and feisty attitude, weaves expertly with the reflective and realism of ‘Nothing Left’.
It is a touchstone of Dulcie’s development as songwriters and performers, while their dynamic as performers has only strengthened in recent years, culminating with a stunning final product.
The release of ‘tell ur friends’ repositioned Dulcie on the national radar; the single earning the group triple j rotation, editorial praise from outlets including NME Australia, Music Feeds, AAA Backstage and AMNplify, and heavy community radio and DSP support from both Apple Music and Spotify (14 playlists alone). Dulcie’s growth has been exponential since signing to WA-based artist agency Wear Your Hat (Psychedelic Porn Crumpets), knocking off over 10,000 streams monthly and elevating the trio to new heights.
Throughout April, they have been continuing to bring their sounds to life out on the East Coast, hitting Sydney and Melbourne before returning home to prepare for a long-awaited headline date at Perth’s Rosemount Hotel. Dulcie will also be returning to stages throughout regional Western Australia in May, supporting Amy Shark on her largely sold out regional tour of WA (a run that has sold over 8,000 tickets to date).
PRAISE FOR DULCIE
“New year, new Dulcie and a new spin on their empathetic songwriting that so clearly captures familiar heartbreaks.”
Triple J Unearthed, Dave Ruby Howe (‘tell ur friends’, 2022)
“I really dug their former organic ensemble sound, but DAMN if they don’t absolutely nail this pop thang!”
Triple J, Al Newstead (‘tell ur friends’, 2022)
“…infectiously sassy, uplifting, and shows perfectly just how the group have evolved these past few years.”
Backseat Mafia (‘tell ur friends’, 2022)
“Expanding on their indie-pop sonic realm, the trios latest offering brings their signature bewitching harmonies and vivid storytelling lyricism.”
Milky Milky Milky (‘tell ur friends’, 2022
“With melodies to rival Taylor Swift, Perth four-piece Dulcie have crafted a gorgeous, tight-knit collection of indie-pop magic with their debut EP, Sake of Sound. It’s sublime, delicate and towering music.”

Where are you currently based?
Brisbane.
How did the band come about?
We wanted to play together for a bit of fun while at uni, then I think we realised we could do some cool things if we tried hard. So here we are shooting our shot.
What’s been happening recently?
We are in the process of writing EP #2 and we are nearly finished. Recording has already started and we are looking to get several new tracks out by the end of 2022. Plenty of gigs on the horizon too – cause that’s the best part.
Your new EP ‘Wouldn’t Be So Lucky’ is out now, what influenced the sound and songwriting?
Each song on this EP aims to serve a purpose and is really a blend of 2-3 songs that we wanted to sound like. The artists we were influenced by stretch from The Beards, Foo Fighters, Pity Sex, Free Throw and Phoenix just to name a few. Each one definitely came out sounding like a Plane Sailors song which is something we are really proud of.
How did you go about writing the EP?
It was written in bits and pieces over a period of time where the band had really fallen flat. We were trying to write new music every week, but these are the songs that really stuck out and motivated us to keep pushing because honestly they were pretty good – we had never been able to say this before.
Where and when did you record/produce/master and who did you work with?
We made it ourselves, in the worst room imaginable. Spent the life savings on gear and just went for it.
How did you approach the recording process?
Sporadically. Never really got a smooth run going, but better luck next time I guess.
Favourite tracks?
Bell Curve & The Sights.
What do you like to do away from music?
All of us like hanging out and staying pretty active together. A lot of us in the band do rock climbing together as well as boxing. We try to play board games at least once per month too, to keep the competitive spirit alive and well.
What’s planned for the remainder of 2022?
We have some of the coolest shows we may ever get to play coming up and it’s pretty exciting. Also some diverse new music.
Favourite food and place to hangout?
We have a pre-gig tradition of Langos from a shop in the valley, so that’s probably the band’s favourite. We usually hang out in our rehearsal space, we are really lucky to have it and it’s just sparks inspiration even if we aren’t doing music stuff.
Where are you currently based?
I’m currently based in Melbourne.
How did you first start playing music?
I first started writing music at age 9 on the piano. Songwriting has always been a passion of mine, so when I was 19 I decided to go to university and further develop my skills in songwriting.
What’s been happening recently?
I have been writing lots of music, collaborating with wonderful artists and finishing off the music video for Heartbreaker.
Your debut single ‘Heartbreaker’ is out now, what influenced the sound and songwriting?
Definitely my love of pop music influenced the sound of heartbreaker. I wanted to write a song that was upbeat and one that you could dance to.
How did you go about writing Heartbreaker?
I was sick of the people I was dating having hidden agendas so I decided to write a song about what it was like being played by someone.
Where and when did you record/produce/master and who with?
I recorded the song towards the end of last year in my bedroom closet. I worked with the incredible Bhauraw for the production and mastering of the song. He was really wonderful to work with.
How did you approach the recording process?
I recorded the vocals so many times before I was happy with the pronunciation, dynamics and pitching.
Please tell us about any new music that’s on the way:
I have been working on a darker sound for my second single. It’s called ‘I don’t want to sleep with you,’ so keep an eye out!
What do you like to do away from music?
I love to bake, go to comedy shows and spend time with my cat.
Who are you listening to at the moment?
I’ve been loving Olivia O’Brien, Sally Boy, Brenzy and Maxine recently.
What’s planned for the remainder of 2022?
More music, performing and hopefully an EP.
Favourite food and place to hangout?
My favourite food is sushi and my favourite place to hangout is in the studio.
