NOFX Release Official Soundtrack + Original Score For Career-Spanning Documentary ‘40 Years Of Fuckin’ Up’

Punk rock legends NOFX have officially released 40 Years Of Fuckin’ Up: Soundtrack + Score, the official musical companion to their career-spanning documentary 40 Years Of Fuckin’ Up.

The release is now available digitally, with the physical double LP set scheduled for October 2. The collection brings together an original score, new material, rare recordings and live performances spanning the band’s four-decade career.

The release features two distinct musical components: an 11-song original score composed by Fat Mike, alongside a 15-song soundtrack featuring material from across NOFX’s history.

Among the new material is “40 Years Of Fuckin’ Up”, alongside “We Did It Our Way”. The latter features a live performance recorded during NOFX’s final shows in San Pedro, California, in October 2024. The band is also releasing a live video for the track to coincide with the soundtrack’s arrival.

The collection also digs into the band’s archives, featuring six rare and previously unreleased recordings, including a demo of “Secret Society”, an early recording of “On The Road” from 1986 and NOFX’s take on “La Bamba”. Live versions of “Linoleum” and “NOFX” are also included.

The original score offers another perspective on Fat Mike’s songwriting, expanding the musical world surrounding the documentary beyond the band’s traditional punk-rock catalogue. The score was created by Fat Mike, with Matt Nasir also credited on the score.

Directed by James Buddy Day, 40 Years Of Fuckin’ Up documents the history of NOFX and features Fat Mike, Aaron “El Hefe” Abeyta, Eric Melvin and Erik Sandin. Fat Mike serves as producer, with members of the band among the film’s executive producers.

The documentary premiered at the 2026 SXSW Festival in March and has since continued its festival and theatrical run, including acceptance into the San Francisco International Film Festival and screening at the Cannes Film Market.

For the physical release, 40 Years Of Fuckin’ Up: Soundtrack + Score will arrive as a deluxe double LP accompanied by a 24-page retrospective photo book featuring rare and previously unseen photographs documenting the band’s 40-year history. The cover artwork was illustrated by Tokyo Hiro.

Following their farewell shows in 2024, the release provides another substantial chapter in NOFX’s recorded legacy — bringing together new music, archival material and live performances while serving as the musical counterpart to a documentary looking back across one of punk rock’s most enduring careers.

40 Years Of Fuckin’ Up: Soundtrack + Score is out now digitally, with the physical release arriving October 2, 2026.
