Driven sonically by a myriad influences that have made their sound fit in the ballpark of artists like Parcels, LCD Soundsystem and New Order, Sydney indie duo The Cherubs make their debut with vibrancy, revealing the first official cab off the rank – ‘Nausea’.
As the first hint of the band’s forthcoming music ‘Nausea’ demonstrates not just a clear, tight band dynamic, but an overarching sense of fun that listeners can anticipate to be threaded through their music as the rest of 2023 rolls out.
‘Nausea’ rides a wave of nostalgia – the guitars and hooks throwback to a Joy Division, The Smiths and almost Ultravox-esque heyday – while keeping the core sound of the arrangement relevant and fresh.
Recording ‘Nausea’ with Peter Holz (Vance Joy, Gang of Youths), The Cherubs lean into rich, fun instrumentation on ‘Nausea’ – making their introduction one to remember.
“This song came together on the final days of us writing the ep. In fact, Dylan wrote the guitar and lyrics overnight while babysitting two cats and the next day we jammed it out as a band. It was a very quick song to write, what with not over thinking the arrangement, rather letting the guitars call-and-response be the hook and allow the lyrics to tell somewhat of a statement against it all.”
THE CHERUBS
For the ‘Nausea’ music video, The Cherubs linked up with Liam Clark as director/editor, Ian Tyley on cinematography and camera ops, as well as students from SAE to bring the concept and performance to life. With high energy at the forefront of the project, The Cherubs made the visuals striking and to the point.
“The music video was shot in half a day at Good Egg Studios in Riverstone. It’s worth noting Tim Berner on bass was attacked by a cactus the day of shooting and as a result had to be replaced by a dear friend and guitarist José Herández.”
THE CHERUBS
For fans of artists like Mildlife, Leisure or DIIV, The Cherubs are creating music that stems from years of experience writing and performing with some of Australia’s best groups. Spending the past decade as session musicians and members of bands for artists including Go-Jo, Nicole Millar, Nyxen, Little Sea, The Flowers, and more, The Cherubs bring years of experience to their own project – creating a fresh vibe that they are keen to roll out and expand upon in 2023!

It has been a huge year for Live Nation’s game-changing live music discovery series ONES TO WATCH, when it comes to the unearthing of fantastic Australian talent. And the momentum isn’t stopping as 2023 rolls into its second half, with the announcement of a brand new instalment of the series in Meanjin/Brisbane, taking place during BIGSOUND this September 6.
Taking place during the Australian music industry’s largest conference and showcase festival, Live Nation brings its own flavour to BIGSOUND, with ONES TO WATCH Backed By VODAFONE, providing the massive stage at the Fortitude Music Hall as a platform for their next exciting trio of artists to demonstrate why they are going to be the next ones to watch.
Selected to perform at September’s ONES TO WATCH Backed By VODAFONE event is Sydney pop artist Ūla, Gold Coast indie-pop performer Bella Amor, and Melbourne pop songwriter Keenan Te. All three represent unique perspectives and takes on pop music; all three are refreshing entries to the Australian music landscape — providing stage presence and musical skill that has Live Nation excited about the careers that lay ahead.
Ūla has built a strong following of over 1.6 million already, a natural performer and multi-instrumentalist who has become a name the industry is already turning their heads for, courtesy of music that has racked up over 13.5 million streams to date. Having supported the likes of Amy Shark, The Veronicas and Tyne-James Organ, Ūla’s performance chops have been fast developing, as her debut EP project continues to be refined and prepared to be unleashed.
Hailing from the Gold Coast, Bella Amor’s vocals and songwriting style have been intriguing and exciting industry and fans alike since her track ‘Beauty’ began turning heads in 2020. Inspired by the soulful and rich tones permeating music by the likes of Matt Corby and YEBBA, Bella Amor brings this depth together with her sharp and witty perspective of young adulthood. Singles released in recent years, such as 2022’s ‘can’t get laid’, ‘all my friends are high’ and 2023’s ‘sentimental’ reflect Bella’s artistic talent; music anchored by emotional explorations and honest observations on life.
Keenan has been musical from a young age, developing his songwriting skills out of his Melbourne bedroom, though having learned guitar and piano as a child. Debuting videos of himself performing to TikTok in 2020, Keenan’s profile was quick to rise, amassing over 1.7 million followers – his videos accruing over 200 million views. Capturing the attention of international superstars including Meghan Trainor, Addison Rae, Dan + Shay and more in the last few years, Keenan’s original music – including 2021’s ‘Dependent’ – has made him a global name. With over 70 million streams worldwide, Keenan has continued to flesh out his own unique songwriting influences in new music, making the projects he has on the near horizon exciting to anticipate.
Hosted by Tait McGregor, this ONES TO WATCH Backed By VODAFONE event will see one of the country’s best content creators and music journalists return to facilitate the night. A diehard Australian music champion and fan, McGregor previously hosted Eora/Sydney’s ONES TO WATCH event earlier this year, bringing natural charm and enthusiasm to the role – making her a natural choice for the Meanjin/Brisbane edition.
Having curated the last three ONES TO WATCH showcases, Live Nation promoter Paul Lynch is again excited for the latest installment, noting “After last year’s successful showcase, key members of the music industry are already flagging Ones To Watch as a must-see event at BIGSOUND this year. Ūla, Keenen Te & Bella Amor are three artists that we have had our eye on for a while now and are very excited to present such a talented line up, to key industry forces at BIGSOUND.”
With successful events taking place in Naarm/Melbourne and Eora/Sydney already spotlighting the incredible talents of artists including Lola Scott, STUMPS, Sam McGovern, PANIA, Mitch Santiago and BOY SODA, the ONES TO WATCH series has become an in-demand event within the Australian industry.
Invite only, ONES TO WATCH Backed By VODAFONE gathers an audience of key industry buyers and professionals together to witness these talented individuals perform, but ultimately, the event is an opportunity for the artists to gain meaningful industry pathways and connections.
And as continued investment into these emerging artists’ careers, Live Nation will be contributing $10,000 to each participating performer to go towards Live Nation-curated touring activity. Including, but not limited to, showcases and club shows, this financial boost provides additional support from Live Nation to these artists, ensuring that the momentum ONES TO WATCH Backed By VODAFONE can help generate, will keep building.
“For the second year running, we proudly take our Ones To Watch showcase to BIGSOUND. The program is a huge priority for us – we get to spotlight the immense talent of these acts to the industry while providing exciting development and touring opportunities, and through leveraging our global network we can connect Ones To Watch artists with fans worldwide.”
ROGER FIELD, PRESIDENT OF LIVE NATION ASIA PACIFIC
Since its establishment in North America, the ONES TO WATCH series has been able to support and promote artists such as Dua Lipa, Olivia Rodrigo and Halsey early in their careers. So far in Australia, ONES TO WATCH has platformed artists including Forest Claudette, Teenage Joans, Carla Wehbe, ZPLUTO, WIIGZ, Hoodzy, East AV3, Colourblind and Saint Lane at events around the country.

THEATRE
Artists and performers, Luke George and Daniel Kok, exploit the physical properties of rope and knots to unpick the boundaries of desire, trust, consent and communion between artist and audience in Bunny. To unravel shared lines of connection, to suspend tension and to unleash collective desires, Kok and George look to macramé, sailors’ knots, Chinese knots and rope bondage to weave together an interactive and intimate experience of collectivity. Touring to 15 cities across Asia, Europe and North America (including the Venice Biennale) Bunny returns to Australia for this special season.
From internationally acclaimed writer and one of the UK’s most prominent trans voices, Travis Alabanza (Burgerz), comes the Australian premiere of Overflow, an entirely trans production and “a future classic” (Evening Standard), directed by Dino Dimitriadis. Overflow takes the audience on a hilarious and devastating tour of women’s bathrooms – who is allowed in and who is kept out. Cornered into a flooding toilet cubicle and determined not to be rescued again, Rosie (Janet Anderson) distracts herself with memories of bathroom encounters. Drunken heart-to-hearts by dirty sinks, friendships forged in front of crowded mirrors, and hiding together from trouble. But with her panic rising and no help on its way, can she keep her head above water?

Internationally-celebrated performance artists The Huxleys’ Places of Worship photographic series explores the fading magic of supernatural worlds in which Melbourne-based performance and visual artists, Will and Garrett Huxley cast themselves as exquisite outsiders, isolated and ornate, existing on the fringes of places and the margins of society. It presents a longing for the precious jewels of earth to be celebrated and adored by emulating the outrageous beauty they interpret in nature through their handmade costumes and styling. These photographs invite the viewer to find a similar beauty in explosively queer bodies, yearning for difference to be marvelled at, worshipped and praised.
New York-based Australian artists and creative technologists Tin Nguyen & Edward Cutting are driven by a deep curiosity for the natural world and the intricate ways we are connected to it. Tin & Ed use art to envision the world through this lens of interconnectedness. Multitudes is a series of playful outdoor installations and experiences that illuminate the borderless dimension between art and science, the physical and the digital, the human and the more than human.

Title: Your Love
Label: Self-release
PLS&TY is wasting no time after the release of his “3 Days, 2 Nights” EP last month, already back with another new single in the form of “Your Love,” a uniquely addictive global dance gem. The track is a fusion of tech and deep house, tribal music, and both Swahili and English vocals by Kenyan singer Sofiya Nzau. Her Swahili choral performance is a stunningly ethereal, wild soliloquy that will ignite the fire of your heart, especially when paired with PLS&TY‘s diverse production prowess that rides on deep, groovy basslines and danceable tribal melodies. “Your Love” signifies PLS&TY‘s growth as an artist post “3 Days, 2 Nights,” indicating that he’s only getting started with the new and unexpected sonic styles. Read on for more inspiration behind “Your Love“:
“The ‘3 Days, 2 Nights‘ project reignited a fire within that had been, admittedly, waning, and stands on new ground for the PLS&TY sound moving forward. I also believe that with ‘3 Days, 2 Nights,’ listeners caught a glimpse into the PLS&TY sound no longer being confined by any one genre or style. Now, ‘Your Love‘ kickstarts a new chapter of the post-EP dose of music that entails primarily club & DJ-set-focused material. ‘Your Love‘ is unique in that the vocals are sung largely in Swahili, and extends well across continents and borders.” – PLS&TY
Tommy Leas, a Florida native – better known as PLS&TY – is burgeoning into the electronic dance music scene with his unique sound: languid bass, captivating vocals, and enough upbeat melodies to make anybody feel good. His music has amassed over 100 million streams across platforms – that’s if you don’t include a feature in a Hershey‘s chocolate television commercial that has now reached over 1 billion views. PLS&TY‘s singles have charted on Billboard, have consecutively reached #1 on iTunes four times, and have been remixed by Grammy-nominated Morgan Page, Rusko, Cazzette, Bondax, and YehMe2. Tommy has also toured a bevy of A-list festivals, including Shaky Beats, Breakaway, Electric Forest, EDC Vegas, and more. After releasing his debut “Very Special” EP, which featured platinum-selling artists like Sean Kingston, Alex Aiono (of Netflix‘s “Finding Ohana“), Wifisfuneral, and more, 2020-2022 saw PLS&TY become an early adopter of the emerging NFT technology. PLS&TY has co-designed skateboard deck NFTs for Tony Hawk, as well as visuals for celebrity athletes like Floyd Mayweather and even members of Congress. Most recently, PLS&TY‘s NFT projects were referenced in Billboard at the #3 and #10 positions of Top Music NFT Sales in August and September of 2022 alongside Snoop Dogg, Eminem, and David Bowie. 2023 sees PLS&TY emerging with new music and an ever-growing global community of fans following his art, all while wielding the lighthearted “mind your manners” and “please and thank you” catchphrases.

How do you know each other?
Bronnie recalls, “Kal and I met through the Melb Blues music scene, I can’t recall whether it was at MBAS or Hume Blues it was quite some time ago, since then we’ve supported each other in music whenever possible.“
Marion states, “We had the pleasure of working with Kaliopi at Beneath Drivers Lane a few months ago and enjoyed a positive and supportive connection between us all.
What drew you into the blues scene?
Marion Turner says, “since the age of 14 , a school teacher took an interest in my vocals and introduced me to a couple of Blues songs. He would play the tunes on the school piano and put me into the school concerts, even a TV Talent Quest, that’s when I knew I wanted to sing the blues which I took up professionally later in life when I started working with Steve Plater”(Both from Salty Dog Blues Band are performing duo for this event as well as joining in the Jam).
Bronnie shares, “I was raised singing jazz, later switched to covers, when I moved to Perth I found the blues dare I say that was 40 odd years ago I’ve veered off a couple of times to pursue other genres in original music but I always come back to the blues it’s in my blood!”
How do you find opportunities for women in the music industry and the blues scene in particular?
Marion accounts, “I personally didn’t find it hard working in the music industry in cover, cabaret bands until I decided to go for broke in the blues scene with very much to learn about performing the blues in front of Blues audiences, definitely hard slog being mostly a male dominated field then. Am grateful that we women are accepted and more recognised in the Blues now days.”
Bronnie believes, “There is always room for more women in blues!”.
Lisette Payet, keyboard player for Kaliopi & The Blues Messengers, recalls, “I was initially introduced to the ‘Women In Blues’ through Kelly Auty and Jen Hawley when it first began and I have to say I’m a little disappointed after the MBAS competition to witness not much progress for the women in blues. Maybe we need more of these shows for Women in Blues.”
How do you feel being invited to be a part of the Ozi Blueswomen show for Double Trouble Blues Sessions?
Bronnie Gordon says “I’m loving being involved in the Ozi Blueswomen show, there hasn’t been a lot of time for rehearsal but when it’s happened it’s been a great vibe. This is a great concept, I’m looking forward to sharing the stage on Sunday!”
Marion added, “I feel honoured to be gracing the stage with Kaliopi and the Blues Messengers and all the very talented women participating in the show”.

Label: Spinnin’ Records
Timmy Trumpet, KSHMR, and Bassjackers team up altogether for the very first time on their new single “Eternity,” an explosive 90s-inspired gem with a modern twist. Opening with sparkling melodies and ethereal vocals, “Eternity” builds into a digitized drop with dynamic, undulating basslines and a disco vibe that pays homage to artists such as Alice Deejay and Vengaboys. Timmy, KSHMR, and Bassjackers fuse melodies from Eurodance culture and the genre’s quintessential female vocals with a modern uptempo beat, making “Eternity” a catchy and dance-worthy track that’s sure to light up clubs and festivals, and radio airwaves across the globe this year. It follows Trumpet‘s recent release “The Race” with Vini Vici and Sub Zero Project, KSHMR‘s “Close To You” with Maddix as well as Bassjackers‘ recent hit “Wrong or Right (The Riddle).”
“This is a beautiful record to play, full of emotion and made together with some of my best friends in the industry who are both insanely talented and respected producers. I’m really proud of this one.” – Timmy Trumpet
“The vocal of ‘Eternity’ was sent to me months ago and I knew it was something special. I found out that Timmy and the Bassjackers guys were interested in it as well, so we said ‘why not do it together?’ They are my favorite guys to work with, but we’ve never done something all together, so this was the perfect collaboration.” – KSHMR
“Put some good producer friends in a studio and throw in an amazing vocal. Its like sharks on a feeding frenzy, whereas we got 98% of the track done in just one day.” – Bassjackers
Timmy Trumpet
An award-winning, multi-platinum-selling recording artist, Timmy has forged his way to the very top. His breakthrough release “Freaks” has reigned in over half a billion streams, accompanying a string of singles to break the 100 million barrier on Spotify alone. From performances on Jimmy Kimmel Live to the most streamed set at Tomorrowland, Timmy is a festival promoter’s headlining weapon of choice. Always up for collaborating with other artists, his extensive catalog features global heavyweights such as Armin van Buuren, Hardwell, Afrojack, Steve Aoki, Dimitri Vegas & Like Mike, R3HAB, W&W, Alok, and KSHMR, to name a few. His debut mainstage performance at Tomorrowland in 2017 is the highest streamed set of all time on the official YouTube channel, with his 2022’s set also leading the charge. Timmy has an impressive international touring schedule, headlining festival performances at iconic events like Tomorrowland, Ultra, and EDC. In 2022, Timmy threw out the first pitch for the NY Mets vs. LA Dodgers and performed his track “Narco” while pitcher Edwin Diaz walked out to the mound. The iconic moment clocked over 200 million views on social media in 48 hours and sent ‘Narco‘ to #1 on Spotify‘s viral chart in the USA. To add to his impressive list of achievements, Timmy became the first instrumentalist to perform in Zero Gravity,
KSHMR
The California-based producer first found success as part of the pop-rap duo the Cataracs, who produced hits for Far East Movement, Dev, Snoop Dogg, and New Boyz during the early 2010s. Freeing himself from the expectations of the pop world, he anonymously debuted his EDM alias KSHMR in 2014, publicly confirming his identity the following year. He has released dozens of singles, including collaborations with Tiësto, Hardwell, and R3HAB, in addition to EPs such as 2015’s “Paradesi,” 2016’s interlude-heavy “The Lion Across” the “Field,” 2017’s “Materia,” and 2021’s full-length “Harmonica Andromeda.” KSHMR also produced songs for Selena Gomez, Sean Paul, and Robin Thicke.
Bassjackers
Bassjackers exploded onto the scene, and in 2011 their dancefloor bomb “Mush Mush” was picked up by Tiësto and released on his label Musical Freedom. The track dominated the Beatport top 10 charts for over two months and was one of the biggest festival tracks of the year. This was a sign of things to come. Since then, Bassjackers have reached massive new heights in their career with numerous chart-topping bangers and hit collaborations with the likes of Martin Garrix, Afrojack, KSHMR, Dimitri Vegas & Like Mike, R3HAB, and Showtek, to name a few, as well as remixes for A-list artists including Rihanna, Enrique Iglesias, Moby, and Ne-Yo. At the top of their game, Bassjackers continue to tear up stages worldwide and wow crowds along the way.

Introducing the Brisbane-based indie rock outfit Paper Lane. With their vintage pop-meets-rock sound and no-holds-barred lyricism, they are debuting with the impressive single, ‘Better In My Head’ (out August 11). Consisting of Taleena Peck, Luke Martin, David Rentell, and Harry Schneider, Paper Lane offers a delightful and relatable glimpse into the mind of an individual navigating simple interactions, only to find themselves unintentionally disgraced. This playful yet painfully accurate track is layered with a fun indie groove and lush guitars, capturing the essence of those moments when conversations sound much better in one’s head. Taleena Peck’s smooth, warm, and passionate vocal delivery adds a touch of authenticity, making this track a consolation for anyone who has experienced such relatable mishaps. Paper Lane’s distinct sound can be described as a fusion of Spacey Jane’s catchy melodies and Paramore’s empowering energy, with a unique twist that is entirely their own. As one of Brisbane’s newest indie rock acts, this debut single, ‘Better In My Head‘, is just the beginning of their journey, as fans and music enthusiasts alike can expect to be graced by more of their authentic storytelling soon. |

Title: The Ones We Lost
Label: Spinnin’ Records
In a true global joining of forces, Denmark‘s HEDEGAARD, US‘ Brandon Beal, and China‘s Lizzy Wang have just released their stunning collaboration – “The Ones We Lost.” The three artists incorporate both poignant emotion and dancefloor-worthy productions in the track, which opens with Beal‘s soulful vocals and a captivating guitar melody that adds a haunting, melancholic edge to the track. Meanwhile, the progressive and euphonious bassline adds the perfect groove, making “The Ones We Lost” a very powerful summer anthem with depth and groove. Listeners may recognize the original sample from the song “Pretty Little Ditty” by Red Hot Chili Peppers, which was further popularized by Crazy Town on the global hit “Butterfly.” HEDEGAARD and Brandon Beal previously worked together on their hit “Twerk It Like Miley,” which currently has over 110M streams on Spotify and 255M on Youtube. Read on to hear what the artists had to say about their newest creation:
“Instead of doing a track in the style we’ve done in the past, HEDEGAARD and I wanted to create something else – a new and more mature approach for us together, without me rapping but singing instead, and with a storyline that is not party-related at all; a celebration of a long incredible journey and friendship, and an ode to ‘The Ones We Lost‘ along the way. Once we had the sample, we wanted to involve an artist that normally works with the tech house genre, to add some fresh elements to the song. With the recent success in China, it was natural to look for a collaborating artist in that market, and Lizzy Wang is both the biggest female DJ in the country, while she also has a lot of experience with releasing tech house. It was a match made in heaven, and together we added bits and pieces from both our worlds, which turned out to be a soul/pop/tech house hybrid.” – Brandon Beal
“Working with Brandon again felt like old friends coming together, and the energy was electric, turning the recording sessions into an epic musical party. Lizzy‘s unique style and sound were a perfect complement to the track, and the synergy between the three of us was evident from the start. It’s been amazing to see the response to our work in the Chinese territory, which I have come to love as a new home market, after visiting the beautiful Country, and meeting the incredible fans, which I feel lucky to have supporting me. This record truly holds a special place in our hearts, and we can’t wait to share it with the world. ‘The Ones We Lost‘ is a testament to the joy of creating music, celebrating friendships, and paying homage to the music that has inspired us throughout our journey.” – HEDEGAARD
Brandon Beal
The American producer, artist, and songwriter Brandon Beal established himself as a musical heavyweight in 2012, when he released the hit single “Never Let U Go” with Snoop Dogg and Kato. The single was certified platinum in Denmark, and ever since, things have only gone in one direction for Beal. He fought his way to the booming music scene in New York City, where his huge talent ensured him a place in the studio alongside international megastars such as Lady Gaga, Flo Rida, and Chris Brown. Today, Brandon Beal lives in Denmark, and his success and style are both one hundred percent self-made. He is behind some of the biggest club and pop hits in and out of Denmark, having written the majority of Christopher‘s album “Told You So,” which won the Danish Music Award for Best Pop Album in 2014, and the mega-hit “CPH Girls,” on which Brandon Beal was featured, ranked as #2 on China‘s most popular music chart, QQ Music. In his own name, he has released “Twerk It Like Miley“, which topped the Danish charts for weeks. Also in 2014, the hit song, which demonstrates Beal‘s international sound, resulted in a Danish Music Award for Best Club Act – as well as no less than three Danish DeeJay Awards the following year. Brandon Beal has also been part of the team behind all of Lukas Graham‘s albums, which have won a plethora of Danish and international awards. Graham also performed as a guest vocalist on the international hit “Golden,” which is about Brandon‘s own upbringing. Brandon Beal has managed to achieve success far beyond the border of Europe. “Twerk It Like Miley” took over Asia and hit second place on the Spotify charts in the Philippines, after which it was in the Top 10 for twelve weeks in a row. In Malaysia, it was Top 60. “Golden” made it to Top 100 on iTunes in Singapore. Besides the aforementioned, Brandon Beal has been charting in countries and territories like China, Indonesia, Taiwan, Thailand, Vietnam and the United Arab Emirates. With his enormous amount of social media followers – half a million on YouTube and more than 150K on TikTok – combined with performances on SMUKfest, GRØN, a tour with Lukas Graham, his own European tour, a tidal wave of award nominations and twelve number one hits in Denmark and Asia on his resume, Brandon Beal has established himself as one of Denmark‘s leading artists and songwriters. 2023 will offer lots of new energy, new collaborations, new experiences, and new hits.
HEDEGAARD
Since the release of an unofficial remix of Dr. Dre‘s “The Next Episode” in 2011, introducing the audience to HEDEGAARD‘s unique sound, he has produced several of the biggest Danish hits in the last decade, generating more than 1.4 billion streams across streaming platforms. “Happy Home” with Lukas Graham and “Twerk It Like Miley” with Brandon Beal and Christopher, are just a couple of the major hits HEDEGAARD has released and produced over the past years, resulting in several #1 in Denmark and abroad. Before recently, turning his focus back to the clubs. On the singles “JUMANJI” and “SA-MY-D,” HEDEGAARD went back to the urban-club fusion he invented years ago, leading to his big breakthrough and giving him the undisputed title and domain in club music as “The King of Car Music.” The release of the single “ALL DESIGNER” had a global impact, with no. 1 positions in southern Europe, the Baltics, and China; followed up by the single “JEEP,” as the first release under a new joined artist and label agreement with the world’s leading label in club music, Spinnin’ Records, containing several singles, and the launch of his own label entity OneHundred, focusing on further developing the worldwide Car Music trend. With the release of the single “NYC BABY” and the localized version “BEIJING BABY” – released exclusively in China – he took the top spot once again on the weekly QQ Music EDM Chart, and later on the singe took second place on the quarterly version of the same chart. The follow-up single “BORED” entered the Top 20, and became HEDEGAARD‘s 4th Top 20 entry in a row; he underlined his status as the hottest new International EDM artist in China in 2023. In a genre dominated by ghost production, HEDEGAARD is a 100% self-made artist; first and foremost being a naturally gifted musician who turned his focus towards DJing – in that order. Monthly listeners on Spotify range between 1.3 to 1.7 million, and the streaming total of 2022 on the platform was more than 54 million (over 1 million streams a week); figures achieved solely on organic growth, leading to the only conclusion: The audience loves the sound of HEDEGAARD. The achievements are second to none for the Danish club artist, and with the aforementioned international contract and tours in Asia and the US, the HEDEGAARD story has only just begun.

Re-emerging in 2020, with refreshed line-up and new energy, Underwire have been writing together for the last three years and have begun releasing a stream of punchy, distinctive songs recorded at Massey University School of Music in 2021, and re-mastered by production legend Scott Seabright (Finn Brothers, Alien Weaponry, Mumford & Sons). In contrast to the wall of sound of their first single ‘Gravity’ released in May 2023, Underwire’s new single ‘Calling Out’ is an evocative post-punk tale of loss and dissolution, a mannered and disquieting outline of a relationship falling apart. So far they’ve been attracting 5 star reviews, been playlisted on a number of UK indie radio shows (eg Northern Quarter Radio ‘Big Fat Indie Show’), and are enjoying access to a wider audience. Watch for more Underwire releases over the remainder of 2023, and further recordings are scheduled for late 2023 with Scott Seabright at the helm.
