Melbourne fashion label Flare Street is stepping into a new fabric era with its latest Natural Fibre Collection, introducing a range of flares made from closed-loop Organic Bamboo.
Designed and made in Melbourne, the new pieces are described by Flare Street as exceptionally soft, silky and comfortable, bringing a new feel to the label’s signature statement silhouettes.
The collection follows the sudden closure of the velvet factory Flare Street had worked alongside for 13 years. Founder and designer Nik Shimmin used the opportunity to search internationally for a high-quality, sustainable alternative, visiting closed-loop factories in Italy and exploring fabrics from across Europe.
The result is Organic Bamboo selected for its softness, breathability and moisture-wicking properties. Flare Street says the fabric is also hypoallergenic and gentle against the skin.
The new flares are designed to be worn anywhere, from dressing up to more relaxed everyday looks, while retaining the bold, expressive aesthetic Flare Street is known for.
The Natural Fibre Collection is available now through the Flare Street online store, with the collection continuing the brand’s focus on small-batch production and Melbourne manufacturing.
