Frontier Touring and I OH YOU are thrilled to announce today that for the third consecutive year, Compton-born artist Channel Tres will return to Australia this April-May, performing four sweaty headline shows in Perth, Melbourne, Brisbane and Sydney. While in the country, he’ll also hit the stage nationally with Groovin The Moo festival.

Adorned with some of the scene’s most recognized stars and rising tastemakers alike, these masters of their craft will guide attendees through five days of sonic exploration and cultural immersion, March 11-15. SXM Festival’s phase three turns its sights on scene innovators from around the world, representing the communities that make up the the event’s wide reaching attendee-core. Burning Man mainstay turned avant-garde talent Tara Brooks makes her return to the festival, New York’s Stranger Than captain Tal Ohana will bring along his deep shades of techno, plus fans can expect a journey through the deep from Canadian legend Nitin. For the 2020 edition, the event will continue to build upon its deep connection with the cultural and ecological fabric of the beautiful host locale of Saint Martin/Sint Maarten. Spawned in 2019 to help encourage the prosperity and health of the island, SXM Festival created a partnership with SXM Doet, the largest volunteer initiative in Saint Martin/Sint Maarten and the Dutch Kingdom. Attendees are encouraged to take a break from the party and meet the locals and other travelers, while offering their service to the island at specific, sponsored projects. On March 13+14, guests are encouraged to join the SXM Art Deco team and a number of artists including Amine K and Maga in two key charitable action projects. Register to build a playground at Ideal Preschool or assemble an eco-friendly, recycled playground at Green Learning Academy. There is an angle for everyone to get involved and ensure that the people of Saint Martin/Sint Maarten can enjoy their home as much as festival-goers do. The festival has also partnered with longtime SXM artist Blond:ish, Toronto’s Summerdaze, and global dance music sustainability project ByeByePlastic to host a cleanup of the iconic Sandy Ground Beach. This continues SXM’s anti-single use plastic ethos and overall commitment to the protection of the island’s sensitive ecosystem. More info on the beach cleanup here. With global impact in mind, SXM Festival has forged strategic partnerships with leaders in sustainability, focused on offsetting the carbon released by air-travel to the island. All SXMF-goers will be encouraged to calculate the emissions released via their journey and offset by donating to Climate Futures’ Peace Boat Project though a $10 per month subscription, or a one-time $25 contribution. SXM Festival is committed to a net-zero emissions strategy that is measurable and permanent. Through their new partnership with Climeworks, the world’s first commercial direct air capture company, guests can now capture carbon dioxide from the air and turn it into stone in their name. Become a Climeworks SXM Festival Pioneer with a one-time contribution or subscription. The wait is over! Polaris’ hugely anticipated second studio album, The Death Of Me, is out today via Resist Records. In support of the release, Polaris kick off their biggest national headline tour tonight to a sold out show in Adelaide. The tour sees them travelling around the country to sold out shows in Melbourne, Sydney and Brisbane. It’s been two years since Polaris released their ARIA-nominated, Top 10 debut, The Mortal Coil which introduced the group to legions of fans around the country and, thanks to an extensive international touring schedule, the world. When it came time to making their new album, The Death Of Me, the Sydney outfit knew they had a tall order on their hands.

Polaris returned to the house in the small South Coast town of Mollymook where they made The Mortal Coil, converting it into a temporary studio. The familiar surrounds acted as something of a refuge after the high-pressure claustrophobia of touring.

Accompanying the band was their front of house sound engineer, Lance Prenc, and long-time friend Scott Simpson (of Melbourne band Alpha Wolf), both of whom co-produced the album with the band.

In the two years since The Mortal Coil, Polaris embarked on three sold-out headlining tours of Australia, as well as supporting Architects and Parkway Drive around the country; five runs throughout Europe (including a series of arena shows supporting Architects and a slew of high-profile summer festival spots); three separate US tours; not to mention performing at the Download Festival and Unify Gathering in Australia. Archy Ivan Marshall has the world at his feet. After two feverishly received albums as King Krule, plus another low-key outing under his own name, this extraordinarily gifted 25-year-old from Peckham in South London adds further depth and substance to his oeuvre with another wondrous long-player called Man Alive!. It arrives packed full of his trademark sonic ambition and compositional skill, as well as the now-familiar corrosive lyricism and lurid social observation. Marshall has emerged as a pack leader amongst his peers, leading the charge in a fearless blurring of genre divisions, one minute seeming to drag the listener through the trashiest punk experience, the next ushering in a soundworld that’s apparently hi-tech and forward-looking.

Like any great artist on the rise, Archy’s life is moving fast. There’s a lot to catch up on, after 2017’s sprawling masterpiece, The Ooz, broke through amid Mercury Prize nominations and minds-blown media plaudits. Unlike that record, Man Alive! doesn’t aim to present any kind of narrative thread, or Brexit-era state-of-the-nation address, just a collection of snapshots and stories, artfully sequenced into a dazzlingly coherent whole.

This third King Krule album was written as a direct reaction to the non-stop energy of touring The Ooz, and then partly recorded at Shrunken Heads in Marshall’s native stamping ground of Nunhead, with ‘Ooz’ co-producer Dilip Harris. Midway through those sessions, however, Archy found out he was going to become a dad for the first time, and he decided to move up to the North West to be near the mother’s family, ready for the baby’s arrival.

“I should’ve had it all wrapped up before my daughter was born,” says Marshall today with a sheepish grin. Impending parenthood came at a felicitous moment for him, as he was beginning to feel trapped in South London’s suburban lifestyle of all-eclipsing drunkenness and depression, which existing fans will know was a recurring theme in his earlier music.

“It was just the easiness of it,” he reflects today. “There really is nothing else to do here, especially when it turns to winter. Everyone I know has jobs, whereas I’d sit on my arse all day sometimes not doing anything, then I’d go to the pub with them when they finished work. It became a bit habitual. Then, right in the middle of the record, this big change came in my life that I didn’t really comprehend initially. It was like, ‘Oh, I’d better get my shit together!’ To be honest, I was really glad to get away from all that so I could focus on more pressing matters – like keeping a child alive and stuff.”

The new album’s title, he explains, “is an exclamation, about the times we live in. Like, ‘Fucking hell, man!’” He stole the title from a CD that his uncle gave him back in 2013 with some of his uncle’s own music on it, and originally planned to use it for his last album.

“More and more,” he explains, “I’ve been put off by the intention of speaking about what’s going on in society as a black-and-white thing, or trying to get to the bottom of why we’re in this position. So the album is mostly made up of snapshots and observations. There are a lot of real-time-and-place moments, songs talking about walking through the park just over there and getting a head injury [don’t ask! – Ed.], then there are other tracks which are just simplicity, looking at one particular situation and reflecting on it as somehow being super-profound.”

Just as the lyrics are diverse in theme and purpose, so is the music: ‘Comet Face’ lopes along with irresistible unease like a wonky New Wave hit, and ‘Stoned Again’ packs all the inspired beatmongery of ’90s hip hop, while much of the record’s sparser second half recalls the lo-fi intimacy of Robert Wyatt’s ’80s solo work, or indeed the recordings of mass-murderer Charles Manson.

As the concluding ‘Please Complete Thee’ sails out on upliftingly twangsome slide guitar, you’d be forgiven for imagining that some of the more agonizing preceding numbers have served as a kind of therapy for their creator. “Oh yeah,” he freely admits, “once you’re able to discuss things and talk honestly, there is no better way than just shouting it out at a bunch of people. I was always empowered by lyricism and getting my aggression out in some way, or any kind of emotion. That has always been a process for me. This time I felt like I had gotten out of a dark place, and I was on a high. I appreciated the depression, and the low times I’d been through, but I also liked how I felt better in the here and now. So it was about reaching that new plateau.”

Each week, the iconic club is turned into an immersive adult playground with a world class soundtrack and so expect more next level experiences in 2020. This season, it runs each Sunday from June 7 – Sept 27 with a wealth of international names headlining each week.

Saturdays will be all about Elrow, undoubtedly the most colourful, spectacular and fantastically outlandish party in the world. The world famous production is beyond belief, the atmospheres are always crazy and the sound track comes from contemporary DJs who really know how to pack a dance floor. It runs weekly from May 23 – Sept 26 and will be the one and only place to be for those who like to be submerged in imaginary party worlds.

Together is back to retain its crown as one of the most eclectic and immersive nights in the White Isle on Mondays from June 1 – June 29, then from Sept 7 – Oct 5. For 10 whole years now, this party has been bringing festival-sized line-ups to Amnesia each and every week and to celebrate all that they will be hosting 10 special events under the 10 x 10 banner with legendary residents Chase & Status returning once more. Will and Saul will be bringing with them a horde of hand-picked special guests, world exclusive debuts and first time, one-off B2Bs on their most ambitious season yet, showcasing the best from their latest RTRN II JUNGLE project, alongside all new music to road test for those lucky to bear witness. The lights, lasers, ice cannons and visuals are off the chart each and every time and the very best of bass music is showcased with drum & bass, urban, house, grime, techno and more all covered.

As well as this huge opening party and the weekly residencies, there will be a unique series of six spectacular parties from Do Not Sleep – dates to be announced soon – plus a very special guest with her own Friday night party, and plenty of live shows that will transform the world renowned Ibiza Terrace into something you have never witnessed before.

Already, this is shaping up to be the most complete and comprehensive season in Amnesia’s long and storied history.

TOI.TOI. ANNOUNCE THE FIRST HALF OF THE TEN YEAR ANNIVERSARY TOUR WITH SIX SPECIAL EVENTS LEADING UP TO THE BCN OFF WEEK ANNUAL BIRTHDAY CELEBRATION

Toi.Toi.Musik events have been taking place since June 2010, focused on quality over quantity, with lineups, sound and venues that create a unique atmosphere for like-minded people to come together. To celebrate the impressive landmark achievement of ten years running events, Toi.Toi.Musik has announced the first wave of their anticipated parties for 2020, running up to June.

Originally with events aimed at the warehouse, Toi.Toi. then moved to different locations including Fabric and The Hoxton Basement art gallery, which became their cherished home in London, before taking the brand across the world to the likes of BCN OFF Sonar, Tokyo, Berlin and New York City. Capturing the essence of this ten-year history, the tour is set to take place initially across six dates at some of the most select European venues.

Not content with events alone, Toi.Toi.Musik, led by its founder Isis Salvaterra, took things even further by creating a community of artists signed to the Toi.Toi. agency and record label. One thing these artists all have in common is their originality and passion, fundamentally aligning with the Toi.Toi. values. The ten-year tour features some of these close friends and talented artists gracing the lineups.

The tour commences at the heart of Romania’s underground, Club Guesthouse, on Friday 21 February featuring Alex Troubeztkoy, Vincent Lemieux, Dubtil b2b Dan Andrei and Sammy Dee. Followed directly by another Romanian party on Saturday 22 February at the cultural hub of Visssual in Brasov with Brad, Alex Troubeztkoy, Dan Andrei and Sammy Dee.

Moving across Europe, Toi.Toi. is set to join forces with the Anexo brand, with a yet to be released lineup on Saturday 28 March at a Lisbon Warehouse. Then Toi.Toi. return to London where it all began on Easter Bank Holiday Sunday 12 April, this time at FOLD. Featuring at the 24-hour Canning Town venue will be Rhadoo, Vlada, Edward, Dubtil and Junki Inoue, before rolling into an intimate after-hours at pub venue The Lion & Lamb.

Friday 19 June concludes the first half of the tour with the ten-year birthday party taking place during none other than BCN OFF week, where Toi.Toi. held their first-ever European venture in 2011. Expect a remarkable lineup of special guests and label affiliates to mark the occasion.

Vancouver, Canada, February 19th, 2020 – Canadian country artist Lisa Nicole is proud to share her newest single and music video “Wait on Me”, which is newly available on all digital platforms and was released to Canadian radio on February 10th. “Wait on Me” – written in Nashville by Lisa Nicole, Jason Thomas, and Dave Pahanish – is the debut single from her 2020 fall album, Where the Wild Hearts Beat, and her first collaboration with CCMA award-winning producer Jeff Johnson. Today, the Grampians Music Festival crew reveals the official festival set times, as well as announcing their Regional Electronic Producer Competition winner - the talented FLOC. Hailing from Ballarat, FLOC is an electronic producer who has stood out as a bright light in regional circles. She joins the stellar Grampians Music Festival lineup for 2020, which includes the likes of Julia Jacklin, Ecca Vandal, These New South Whales and more. “The REPC was created to provide an opportunity for a stand out Electronic Producer in a regional area to get real, on stage experience in front of a live audience. Not only does the winner get to perform on the GMF Main Stage, but they get some mentoring beforehand by Jules McLaren, one half of Sweet Dreams DJs, who won our Regional DJ Competition in 2018.” Carly Flecknoe, Grampians Music Festival Floc’s music, bringing together soulful tones with electronica, represents the current wave of hip-hop infused pop music climbing in favour with music fans everywhere.
