Sam Feldt keeps party going with his Sunday Sessions Dutch DJ decided to stay in contact with his fans by playing an exclusive set every Sunday

Sam Feldt has been providing a great service to his fans during these socially-distanced times thanks to his weekly Sunday Sessions live stream. These spontaneous DJ streams are broadcast simultaneously on Facebook, Twitch, YouTube, Twitter and Instagram and see the Dutch DJ explore a different style to his IRL DJ sets.

“I started hosting the Sunday Sessions as a creative outlet for myself” he explains. “Because I can’t play real live shows right now, I miss the art of mixing and experimenting behind the decks a lot. None of these sets are pre-planned and they rarely contain my own music, forcing me to be extra creative and constantly be on the lookout for the perfect next tune to play.” They are of a fluid length, from 30 minutes up to several hours, depending on his mood, and feature trippy visuals on a green screen behind Sam. He’s also building some professional decor for future streams.

His Sunday Sessions focus on melodic house and techno, with forays into the more hypnotic end of those sounds. “This is the music I love vibing out to on Sundays myself and doing these weekly streams gives me the ideal opportunity to share my personal favorites with the world. While they are nothing like the real live DJing experience, it offers me a way to connect with my fans virtually while breaking through genres and going out of my comfort zone playing records I don’t usually get to play.”

Sam has also been playing his own music during live streams at remarkable locations — including SLAM!’s broadcast from the top of the Euromast in Rotterdam, and for Spinnin’ Sessions (live and direct from his own kitchen!).

Tune in every Sunday afternoon on Sam’s channels.

About Sam Feldt
DJ, producer, entrepreneur and sustainability pioneer Sam Feldt has established himself as one of the most sought after electronic artists of recent times. Building his career around distinctly feel-good sound, Sam already has a double album and a multitude of top-selling releases under his belt. In 2020 he decided to take his career and his commitment to a more sustainable future one step further by launching his very own label: Heartfeldt Records. Sam’s quest to create a more social and sustainable dance music industry lead Heartfeldt Records to be the first record label with sustainability at the core of its mission. Very active with his Heartfeldt Foundation, Sam works hard at promoting a more sustainable lifestyle. This mission is a common thread across the Heartfeldt business chain: Heartfeldt Radio, Heartfeldt Events, and now Heartfeldt Records.

Marlon Williams Premiers Live At Auckland Town Hall This Weekend

by the partae May 5, 2020
written by the partae

“a fond throwback to Roy Orbison and Chris Isaak” – New York Times at SXSW

“no one at Mercy Lounge dared breathe” – Rolling Stone Magazine

“Holy shit what a voice!” – Paste Magazine

“perfect songs but delivered to a devilish intensity” – Publico.pt

Marlon Williams will premiere the full live concert film from his acclaimed 2019 release Live at Auckland Town Hall this weekend, sharing the 109 minute show for free across YouTube and Facebook, followed by a live Q&A with fans.

Marlon has joined many of his musician friends in embracing online shows during Covid-19, including performances for Music On The Home Front, Isol-Aid, and a special Undercover series for Radio New Zealand, talking with Finn Andrews of The Veils and covering each other’s’ songs.

Live at Auckland Town Hall was released in February 2019 alongside footage of Marlon’s cover of Barry Gibb’s Carried Away, but the rest of the concert film has been hiding away, waiting for a moment when music fans would really need to experience the pure joys of a singer and band in full flight on stage, in harmony with each other and the audience. Never has a Marlon Williams performance been needed more than now.

The concert showcases why Williams is famed for having one of the greatest voices of his generation, and why in the past two years he has been invited to perform duets with some of the worlds most celebrated artists including Lorde, Florence + The Machine, Courtney Barnett, Brandi Carlile, and Yo-Yo Ma.

Live at Auckland Town Hall features interpretations of songs by Screaming Jay Hawkins, Barry Gibb, Yoko Ono, and the late Lhasa De Sela, plus select songs from Williams self-titled album and his most recent LP Make Way For Love, which picked up the New Zealand Music Award for Album of the Year and APRA Silver Scroll for Song of the Year in 2018.

This Sunday, get the house together on the couch, and settle in for a very special, one-off viewing of Marlon Williams Live at Auckland Town Hall concert film.

Live at Auckland Town Hall Premiere

Concert – May 10th – 10am AEST
Q&A – May 10th – 11.30am AEST

Delivered Live Announces Lineup for Episode 6

by the partae May 5, 2020
written by the partae
As Delivered Live passes the halfway mark of its 10 episode run, the reputation for the show as giving artists a chance to perform a real, amplified gig, whilst injecting cash back into the live music economy, is growing.
Guests on the show have spoken at length about how much they have missed performing live on a stage, how much they’ve missed their band mates and how much they’ve missed the thrill of performing.
Tickets start from as little as $10 and can be purchased HERE (perfect gift for Mothers Day!)

This week’s episode brings Deborah Conway (performing with Willy Zygier) to the stage, along with folk-pop singer-songwriter Alex The Astronaut, and Bendigo singer-songwriter and producer Yergurl.

Bringing the laughs as always will be Sami Shah at the desk, plus comedian Denise Scott, and as always the show will feature an expert panel discussion hosted by Myf Warhurst – all brought to you by host with the most, Henry Wagons!

Delivered Live episodes are free to watch, but tickets are available for purchase and funds will be going back into the pockets of the artists and comedians performing on the show, as well as to their nominated venue and crew member of choice, helping to replace some of the live income they have lost. To date, Delivered Live has injected over $320,000 back into the live music economy, with over 141 musicians, plus comedians, crew members, agents, managers, backline companies and venues all receiving a share of funds.

For this week’s event the recipients of those funds are as follows:
Yergurl nominates – The Gasometer hotel and her band
Alex The Astronaut nominates – The Corner Hotel and Mark Smithers
Deborah Conway nominates – The Jazz Lab and Jeremy Jankie

Delivered, Live Episode 6, Saturday 9th May at 7.30pm
Yergurl
Alex The Astronaut
Deborah Conway
Denise Scott
Sami Shah
– Hosted by Henry Wagons

Producers The Handshake Agency thanks its sponsors for getting on board this first event – Victorian Government, The Music, Oztix, Small Time Group, Young Henry’s ,Harry The Hirer.

After early events gained worldwide plaudits, a new series of streams including Analog Room, East London Movement, Athens Showcase, Francesca Lombardo presents Upper Hour, ReSolute Stays Home, The Zoo Project, Vatos locos featuring Hector, VQtv by Shaun Reeves and Armigé Agency are now revealed.  DanceTelevision dedicates its entire platform to #StayHomeFestival streaming FREE 24/7 content from renown artists, events, and labels in the scene. Despite being in lockdown, artists can continue to interact with their fans and reach out with positive messages to millions of new viewers around the world, and across a variety of the most popular shared networks online. The project invites artists, events, labels and fans to join in solidarity to raise public awareness and funds in support of the WHO and select NGOs that are critical in helping the music entertainment industry. Since soft launching the project on 15 March 2020, numbers continue to rise exponentially and for the latest event with the likes of Pacha Ibiza, Jack Back, Felix Da Housecat, Luciano and International Music Summit all came together in support of the Red Cross in Ibiza. Now, once again, some of the biggest names in dance music will be streamed live on DanceTelevision's Stay Home Festival www.stayhomefestival.org as well as crossposted to many different Facebook pages. It all runs throughout April, May And June. Up first Detroit techno tastemaker and Visionquest label boss Shaun Reeves will kick off the VQ TV show on Sunday May 3rd at 8pm to 11pm CET on Stay Home festival. The showcase will be  revolving around Shaun featuring guests from the Visionquest label and from his close circle. Friday the 15th we welcome the infamous Vatos locos with a surprise lineup with label boss Hector at the helm in a mission to maintain the traditions of a Marathon around the time where they usually get down at the infamous Sunwaves Festival. On May 16th, Francesca Lombardo's "Upper Hour" event series cherishes the daytime 'after party' vibe and is fundamentally about good music presented in a unique setting, with DJs completely free to explore the full range of their selector skills. Hito and Cesare vs Disorder join curator Lombardo for a three hour showcase. Vital underground house promoters Analog room Dubai also bring their tasteful soundtracks on May 7th and 21st with residents such as Move D, Alex Kid, A Guy Called Gerald, Siamak Amidi and Karina, and on May 19th and 26th, East London Movement is uniting underground East London promoters famous for their events in secret locations such as Into the Woods, Vox Sound, Bien Aimer Music, Paravibe, Decay Records and Bread and Butter London. Electronic Labor Day (ELD) Beirut is a three-day virtual electronic music festival from May 1st to 3rd led by Uberhaus in partnership with top electronic music institutions in Lebanon and alongside the Syndicate of Owners of Restaurants, Cafes, Nightclubs and Pastries in Lebanon. Parallells duo launch their A Day In series with a fantastic first film from Essaouira in Morocco, during Moga Festival A DAY IN ESSAOUIRA  WATCH THE FULL EPIZODE HERE - https://vimeo.com/412308564 The Parallells duo are proud to launch their A Day In series with a fantastic first film from Essaouira in Morocco, during Moga Festival. The film features a new and exclusive track  “A Day In Essaouira” which will be available for purchase on Bandcamp and profits will go to the Associations Yerma Gnaoua and Issaouas in order to help Moroccan traditional musicians and their families to overcome the CV19 crisis.    Julien and Thomas de Bie, former students of the Academy of Music, grew up influenced by jazz and classical music and are now underground electronic stalwarts who are based in Amsterdam. They perform at major festivals such around the globe, manage Klassified Records and the Klassified Music Festival and have just opened “The House of Klassified” in Amsterdam; a creative hub for their artists combining: studios, recording facilities, an art gallery and co-working spaces.   With this ambitious new project, Parallells have taken their musical venture even further by discovering different cultures, tribes and their specific sounds. This episode is the first one of the video series “A Day In” where Parallells translate, through field recordings, a specific culture, city or country.  It is said that “Music is the universal language” and Parallells aims to show how it connects people as well as showing the world’s beauty and use music as a force for change. This video was filmed by friend Arnaud Moro who does a remarkable job of capturing the process through his lens.   This last October, Parallells, Maalem Omar Hayat and his crotales players performed a unique show combining Gnawa music infused with electronic music. It came about as an initiative from Moga Festival called Moga Creation. Creating bridges between tradition and modernity, perpetuating the heritage of Essaouira, a city of mixed cultures, highlighting local creativity and hospitality, this project is what Moga Creation aims for.    Parallells rehearsed in the middle of Essaouira’s Medina, in a sacred place where the synergies were shivering when electronic music met traditional Gnawa’s rhythm and culture. After 3 days together, they played this memorable live at Moga Festival, a performance forever engraved in many people’s hearts. Gnawa culture is a centuries-old Moroccan practice rooted in African rituals, Sufi traditions and music played with the guenbri, a type of lute with three strings, and steel castanets called krakebs or crotales. Gnawa refers to a "set of musical productions, fraternal practices and therapeutic rituals where the secular mixes with the sacred"   Essaouira is an exceptional example of a late-18th-century fortified town, built according to the principles of contemporary European military architecture in a North African context. Since its foundation, it has been a major international trading seaport, linking Morocco and its Saharan hinterland with Europe and the rest of the world.   Maalam Omar Hayat is delighted with this collaboration with Julien and Thomas, because it perfectly reflects the cultural exchange between Gnaoua music and electronic music. It was a truly unique experience with, as a highlight, this superb live performed at Moga festival, which perfectly symbolizes this alliance. "Moga création". It is the DNA of Moga festival and a great opportunity to represent these different worlds in the hope of future collaboration, because it was really magic.    This is a fantastic way to launch this new video series which will breakdown borders between music, culture and people all over the world. Watch out for the second episode which finds the pair immersing themselves in the Huichol culture in the Mexican mountains later this year.  www.parallellsmusic.com www.klassifiedmusic.com www.mogafestival.com www.arnaudmoro.com

Photo credit: The Sauce / Kane Lehanneur Australia’s funkiest musical export Ocean Alley are thrilled to announce their highly anticipated third album Lonely Diamond, out independently June 19 with distribution via UNIFIED Music Group. The news follows the premiere of their latest single from the record, ‘Hot Chicken’, on triple j last night, and comes off the back of the recent postponement of their Australian tour until 2021.   Album pre-orders go live 9am AEST Wednesday 29 April from here. Watch ‘Hot Chicken’ via YouTube here.   Grappling with spiralling out of control, ‘Hot Chicken’ encapsulates the seduction and suffering that comes from wrestling with the devil on one’s shoulder. Accentuated by the dangerous edge to vocalist Baden Donegal’s voice, ‘I’ll be the razor if you want to play’, the taunting driving guitars intensify the feeling to fight. Threaded with echoes of an Ennio Morricone Spaghetti Western score, the song’s expansive soundscape grows and conquers, transporting the listener to the middle of a dusty stand-off in a state of isolation and emptiness. Drawing from the nostalgia of music eras past, Lonely Diamond combines 70s guitar rock, country and western, old school funk and synth-heavy new wave to create a deeply contemplative and atmospheric odyssey reminiscent of music legends including Fleetwood Mac, Dire Straits and Pink Floyd. From its sprawling opening notes, the record feels like a seamless progression following their last album, 2018’s Chiaroscuro, with exploration and escapism forming two central themes that unfold and transform across the 12 tracks. Guitarist Mitch Galbraith explains, “It’s pushing forward into the unknown… taking a journey to a different place or a different time that seems familiar or that you’ve been before and all the emotions and feels that come with that.”   There’s an ingrained familiarity with this record from the first listen – all the elements that define Ocean Alley’s sound are there, but more intricately arranged; new instruments are introduced, the production is pushed to new limits and the band has created complete synergy between each track. Album opener ‘Dahlia’ mystically sets the scene with an intergalactic introduction, while the introspective title-track ‘Lonely Diamond’ engulfs the listener in a wave of melancholy before finding purpose with warmth and tenderness. Hopefulness is intrinsically linked with these anxieties, feelings and experiences explored, and the bright and dreamy ‘Up In There’ creates an uplifting sense of reassurance that everything will be okay, with its soaring harmonies, swirling guitars and ethereal keys.   Produced by long-time collaborator Callum Howell at the idyllic Grove Studios (built by INXS’ Garry Gary Beers), Lonely Diamond follows the success of Ocean Alley’s acclaimed second full-length LP Chiaroscuro. With its infectious blend of psychedelic surf-rock, the record propelled the band into national prominence and saw them sell 25,000 tickets over 15 sold out shows that year in Australia alone – culminating with their ARIA nominated, double platinum-selling single ‘Confidence’ taking out #1 in triple j’s Hottest 100 of 2018. Australian band The Buckleys will close off their World Virtual Tour presented by Live Nation on Thursday 30 April with the goal to reach an audience of over 1M from across the globe as they conclude their run with a performance for their home country Australia & New Zealand at 6pm AEST / 8pm NZST. Sarah, Lachlan and Molly Buckley are encouraging the Australian media and their fans to rally behind them and tune in for their final show on Thursday night. “Please help us hit a million for our very first global virtual tour!  We really hope our home country gets behind us,” Says, Sarah Buckley. The Buckleys are a three-piece band of siblings (Sarah 20, Lachlan 18 and Molly 17 years of age), The Buckleys worked since they were young children towards their dream of a record deal, the release of their first album and  tour and had scheduled the release of their single “Money” in March and their first international tour was due to kick off in April but global lockdown has seen them get creative. The Buckleys World Virtual Tour came to fruition after lifelong friends CM Murphy and Arthur Fogel, along with Linda Kury and Devon Buchanan commenced urgent discussions on how to tour The Buckleys whilst the world was on lockdown.     Mr Fogel’s right hand person, Tiffany Hilliard came up with the concept to tour the world virtually by countries and regions. Last month, the band embarked on their first-ever virtual tour of North America, and by the end of the run, they will have played 18 shows across Europe, Asia, South America, New Zealand, and Australia – all from the comfort of their living room. “I don’t think Australians have actually caught on to the fact that their own artist has been out there making music streaming records. Personally, I am stunned by the results so far. If the Australian people and our New Zealand cousins catch a seriously great live show, we will break a million engagements on their first World Virtual Tour.  I am so proud of The Buckleys family, they carry the same mandate my showbiz mother and father gave me, the show must go on!” Says CM Murphy, Petrol Records Founder & Chairman. Carl Cox's leading Awesome Soundwave label in partnership with Beatport is bringing together some of the best live acts in the game for a special online festival on April 25th. It will be streamed live via Beatport’s social pages and various other prominent online channels, with the boss himself appearing alongside label co-founder Christopher Coe and a host of other carefully chosen performers including Marc Romboy, Saytek, The Oolluu and Honeysmack and more. Awesome Soundwave is a live electronic label with a big reputation for releasing music from the cutting edge. It is exclusively for artists who play and perform it live and recent times have given rise to standout albums and EPs from a host of the artists lining up for this special online broadcast.  The artists will all be playing from their own lockdown locations around the world, with Carl Cox and Christopher Coe playing an hour each from Carl’s studio  in Australia and Hannes Bieger - whose recent new single with Ursula Rucker made a big impact thanks to its environmental message - playing an hour from his studio in Germany.  Elsewhere, The Oolluu, a two piece live act crossing over electronic fusion with live drums and amazing dynamics. They’ll be joined by the always on-point and legendary Marc Romboy, fellow live wizard Saytek and the likes of rising Irish live act Nancy and Australia natIve Honeysmack and you have an unmissable online party that will take you away from your lockdown woes for a few essential hours. Carl Cox’s leading Awesome Soundwave label in partnership with Beatport is bringing together some of the best live acts in the game for a special online festival on April 25th.

The artists will all be playing from their own lockdown locations around the world, with Carl Cox and Christopher Coe playing an hour each from Carl’s studio  in Australia and Hannes Bieger – whose recent new single with Ursula Rucker made a big impact thanks to its environmental message – playing an hour from his studio in Germany.

This is a fantastic showcase of the Awesome Soundwave live sound that will keep us dancing and coming together through these difficult times.

Each performance will be 100% live with Carl playing a special set comprising an exclusive selection of ASW releases.

Awesome Soundwave stand in solidarity with their artists and, as such, have set up a donation platform whereby 50% goes to the artists performing and 50% goes to a grass roots aid organisation.

PACHA IBIZA – HOUSE PARTY
APRIL 25th @ 6PM CET

Arriving at a time of isolation with many individuals longing for a night out on the dancefloor, Pacha Ibiza announces its new ‘House Party’ concept taking place this Saturday 25th April.

A charitable initiative to raise funds for Ibiza Red Cross in aid of the Covid-19 impact, ‘House Party’ will allow 500 lucky individuals to get involved in an interactive clubbing experience from the comfort of their own homes.

With an impressive lineup of artists who need little introduction; Bedouin, Claptone, Felix Da Housecat, House Keeping, Pete Tong and Sebastian Gamboa, the online clubbing experience is set to be one to mark a moment of change in history for the iconic club.

Satisfying the clubbing desires of 500 participants on a first come first served basis, Pacha’s ‘House Party’ is an interactive online party where all involved will appear together on screen. Those who make the cut will be able to interact with the other 499, meanwhile those who aren’t as fortunate will be able to tune in via Facebook livestream and enjoy music from the upper echelons of dance music whilst raising money to mitigate the impact of Covid-19 in Ibiza.
