Pond are heading back out on the road this December, with the Fremantle band announcing four Australian headline shows across Western Australia, Queensland, Victoria and New South Wales.
The run begins at Freo Social in Walyalup / Fremantle on Saturday 5 December, with Automatic joining the lineup. Pond will then play The Triffid in Meanjin / Brisbane on Thursday 17 December, Northcote Theatre in Naarm / Melbourne on Friday 18 December, followed by the Metro Theatre in Eora / Sydney on Saturday 19 December.
Support for the Brisbane, Melbourne and Sydney dates is yet to be announced.
The shows follow the release of Pond’s eleventh album, Terrestrials, which features ten tracks including “Skyworks”, “Casuarina”, “Through The Heather”, “Two Hands”, “Roebuck Plains”, “The Fatal Shore”, “Tourmaline”, “Terrestrials”, “Personal Hell” and “Nashville (I’m Dying)”.
Terrestrials reached number two on the Australian Album Chart and number three on the Australian Vinyl Album Chart. The album has also received coverage from outlets including Double J, The Music, The Australian, DIY Magazine, Uncut, Stereogum, NME, Frankie Magazine and Beat Magazine.
Pond’s current lineup features Nick Allbrook, Jay Watson, Joe Ryan, Jamie Terry and James Ireland. Formed in Fremantle in 2010, the band have previously shared stages with the Flaming Lips, Queens of the Stone Age and Arctic Monkeys, as well as appearing at festivals including Glastonbury, Coachella, Splendour in the Grass and The Great Escape.
The December shows will give Australian audiences the chance to hear material from Terrestrials alongside Pond’s wider catalogue.
