Japanese pop artist yama will make their Australian debut this October, with YURA and Eli Wan joining the artist for two shows in Melbourne and Sydney.
yama will perform at Northcote Theatre in Melbourne on Friday, 16 October, with Eli Wan supporting. The following night, Saturday, 17 October, yama will perform at Liberty Hall in Sydney, with YURA supporting.
The Australian shows follow yama’s work across contemporary Japanese pop and anime soundtracks, including contributions to 2.43: Seiin High School Boys Volleyball Team, Ranking of Kings, SPY×FAMILY, Mobile Suit Gundam: The Witch from Mercury and SANDA.
YURA is a Korean Australian singer songwriter whose music incorporates contemporary R&B, indie pop and lo fi. She began developing her sound at 16 through bedroom GarageBand experiments. Her track “Pearl” has surpassed two million Spotify streams. Her live credits include supporting Korean rapper Coogie in Sydney and joining Grent Perez for his 2022 Australian and New Zealand tour.
Melbourne artist and producer Eli Wan works across alt pop and glitch pop, with influences listed as Porter Robinson, Jai Paul, The Drums, Good Charlotte, Bon Iver, The Avalanches and Passion Pit. His music incorporates what the release describes as an “Internet Core” digital aesthetic.
