The Hausplants are an indie post-punk trio based in Vancouver – but their music reflects a global blend of influences, with band members hailing from Iran, Mongolia, and Minnesota, USA. Together, they create a vibrant and eclectic sound that bridges their diverse musical and cultural backgrounds – AND – on Feb.7th, they’ll be dropping their new EP “Into Equilibrium”.
Formed in 2022, The Hausplants are all about making music that’s full of energy, freedom, and experimentation. Over the past two years, they’ve become a staple in Vancouver’s music scene, playing everywhere from packed local venues to intimate DIY shows. Known for their dynamic performances and boundary-pushing sound, they’ve quickly earned a reputation as one of the city’s must-see live acts. In December 2023, the band released their debut EP, Bright, Indirect Light. Completely self-produced and self-released, the EP showcased their raw talent and DIY ethos. Critics and fans alike praised its punchy rhythms, angular guitar lines, and introspective lyrics.
Now, they’re taking their creative process to a new level—literally. Their second EP has been recorded in a pantry, a quirky and cozy space that reflects the band’s playful, resourceful spirit.
