“Songs like this always just jangle straight into my heart. If i had to have one guitar tone/ pedal/mood for the rest of my life, this sorta zone would be it.”  4/5 stars

Melbourne-based surf-rock sextet Majak Door has just revealed their carefree new single ‘Will She Leave You’ – mixed by Daniel Caswell (Dune RatsBad//DreemsThe Living End).

Taking cues from luminaires The GrowlersMac DeMarco and DIIV, ‘Will She Leave You’ is an effortless jaunt full of reverb-laden guitars, gliding bass and summery drums. The endearing vocals of lead singer Frankie Vakalis playfully intertwine with engrossing lead guitar riffs, driving the tracks infectious hooks to its wholly satisfying conclusion

Frankie talks about the process behind ‘Will She Leave You’:

“This track differed from the last single in that we were forced to work from home rather than in the studio. We tracked the drums at our home studio and sent each other bits and pieces to finish off our parts. This approach will now be a big part in the way we approach our recording from now on as we look to broaden our recording and mixing skills.”

Previous releases have been widely embraced by Australian radio stations triple jtriple j Unearthed, FBi3RRR4ZZZEdge RadioSYN FMPBS FMRadio Adelaide and 2RRR. They’ve also seen support from online blogs Trouble JuiceThe MusicBeat Magazine and Little Indie Blogs (UK).

Majak Door has consistently traversed the East-Coast of Australia, packing out shows across Sydney, Wollongong, Newcastle and Melbourne, including supporting contemporaries PlanetThe Grogans, Seaside and Merpire.

With the majority of the band experienced in audio engineering, tracks are recorded across various home studios from Melbourne to the North Coast of New South Wales, fully embracing the bands DIY ethos.

In the coming weeks, Majak Door will reveal an accompanying music video for ‘Will She Leave You’.
