Large Mirage Unleash ‘Wildfire’ and Announce 2026/27 Single Tour

Australian rock band Large Mirage have released their new single ‘Wildfire’, accompanied by an official music video and the announcement of a national tour that will begin with a BIGSOUND showcase in Brisbane on 3 September 2026.

‘Wildfire’ was recorded by Melbourne producer Michael Badger, whose production credits include King Gizzard & The Lizard Wizard, Amyl & The Sniffers, You Am I and Full Flower Moon Band. The track was recorded without a click, retaining the band’s live recording approach.

The song draws on an experience from 2019, when lead singer and guitarist Kolya Chan was living in the Blue Mountains. Chan was travelling to a studio in Tennyson in the Hawkesbury to work with bassist Blake Rochester as the Black Summer bushfires spread through the region.

Chan says the song reflects on the impact of bushfires on communities and the way people rebuild afterwards, while also exploring themes of resilience, collective strength and making the most of life.

The release follows a significant period for Large Mirage. The band opened two sold-out AC/DC shows at Sydney’s Accor Stadium, supported TISM at PICA, and played their own sold-out headline shows in Sydney and Melbourne. Their recent festival appearances have included Woodford Folk Festival, Lost Paradise, King St Summer Crawl and Meatstock.

The ‘Wildfire’ Single Tour begins at the Oztix BIGSOUND Party in Brisbane on Thursday 3 September before continuing through Queensland and New South Wales. The run includes dates at Vinnie’s Dive Bar in Southport, The Whalers Mosman Club, Ocean View in Wamberal, Marlin Hotel in Ulladulla and Dicey Riley’s Hotel in Wollongong.

Large Mirage will also perform aboard the Rock The Boat Cruise travelling from Sydney to Noumea from 25 October to 1 November, followed by an appearance at Crafted Festival at Foreshore Park in Newcastle on 7 November. The tour will conclude internationally at Bonfest in Kirriemuir, Scotland, on 30 April 2027.
