SUPPORT FOR 'JUNGLE TRAIN' “Lamalo infuse this brooding electronic sound with mannerisms intertwined from disco, funk, jazz and beyond; each sound they approach seemingly being a new direction that takes them somewhere unexplored and yet despite that, they manage to knock it out of the park every single time without fault.” - Pilerats (AUS) Following the releases of their critically acclaimed singles ‘Outside’ and ‘Real Love’, Sydney-based producer duo Lamalo have returned with their evocative new single ‘Jungle Train’ feat. Little Green – mixed by Anthony Garvin (Jagwar Ma, Last Dinosaurs, Ninajirachi) and mastered by Ben Feggans (Flume, Mallrat, Coda Conduct). The track is a beautifully arranged piece of brooding deep house, taking cues from luminaries Bonobo, Jamie XX and Tycho. Little Green’s haunting vocals intertwine with reverberating flute samples, splashed over pulsating synth bass. Light thrumming hi-hats and understated bass-infused drums create a serene percussive bedrock, before the choruses escalate with staccato piano chords and earthly vocal scats. Lamalo talks about the meaning behind ‘Jungle Train’: “’Jungle Train’ is about freedom and empowerment. It’s about feeling trapped in our day to day lives and slowly breaking down the barriers to become the people we really want to be. It’s about realising who we really are and not hiding anymore. I think that the recent pandemic has also made a lot of people realise what is actually important to them. Having space from our daily routine has helped us discover who we are inside”. Previous singles have been strongly supported by Spotify, including an entry in the Spotify AU Viral Chart, with their single ‘Outside’ amassing nearly two million streams. They’ve also been widely embraced by Australian radio stations triple j, triple j Unearthed, FBi Radio and community radio. Their tracks have also seen online support from Acid Stag, Purple Sneakers, Discobelle (SWE), Project U, The Australian Music Scene and The Music. In the live arena the duo has supported contemporaries The Kite String Tangle, Midnight Pool Party and Dekleyn, as well as playing boutique festivals Rabbits Eat Lettuce, Red Deer Arts and Music Festival and The Grass is Greener. Lamalo is made up of classically trained, multi-instrumentalists Michiya Nagai and Yossi Cascun. Since their inception in 2016, the duo has been blending energetic electronica, sophisticated textures and groovy polyrhythms, across a discography that spans two EP’s and five singles. In the coming weeks Lamalo will reveal an accompanying music video for ‘Jungle Train’. ‘Jungle Train’ feat. Little Green is available worldwide now Click to stream 'Jungle Train' ft.
