“Mel Tickle and producer Luke McDonald fuse found sounds and live instrumentation to create a lofty brand of neo-psychedelia that gets better with each release.”  - Mixdown Mag “uplifting, joyous pop that reaches for the stars and takes a million hearts with it.”  - Declan Byrne, Triple J “the duo are steadily carving themselves a well-deserved niche.”  - Purple Sneakers Following the highly successful release of single 'Let Down', Brisbane's favourite electro-pop duo, Holiday Party return today with the first instalment of their 'Holiday Party At Home' series and announce the release of their self-titled album out, Friday 3 July.  A highly anticipated release, lead singer Mel Tickle says: "We're so chuffed to be releasing our first LP on Friday 3 July! It's been quite a journey to make the album, spanning several years of late nights in the studio experimenting and rewriting and rearranging, and many spicy chicken burritos. We truly hope it brings people a moment of joy in such a turbulent time." Starting tonight, the 'At Home' video series will be released via the band's Facebook and IGTV every Tuesday at 7pm. Each video will feature a live recorded mash-up of Mel Tickle and Luke McDonald performing previously released singles, covers and unreleased album tracks in their homes. "We wanted to pair the release with something other than shows for obvious reasons. So we made the “Holiday Party at Home” series. Songs from the album (and some covers) re-built from inside our respective houses. Our intention was for every song to have a different feel both musically and visually. Somewhat surprisingly, it felt cathartic to play these songs in an adapted and intimate setting like this, but I guess that’s what most of us have had to do with everything lately – adapt," says Luke. The duo will also be releasing their album on vinyl which can be pre-ordered via Holiday Party's Bandcamp. Since the release of their latest single 'Let Down', Holiday Party have been added to rotation on FBi, Double J and triple j unearthed radio and received praise nationally from the likes of NME Australia, Happy Mag, Purple Sneakers, Mixdown Mag and more.  Grab your favourite drink, a couple of snacks and get cosy at home with Holiday Party.   Holiday Party’s new video releases are weekly Tuesday from today at 7 PM via Facebook and IGTV.
