Felix Cartal Encourages Listeners to Put Down the Phones in New Track “Faces” ft. Veronica
In a world where meaningful conversations often occur over texts and social media rules our perceptions, Felix Cartal and singer Veronica‘s new track “Faces” is a poignant PSA to focus on real, human connection. With its essence of resplendent melodies, stirring vocals and of course a little groove, the song is both a warning and a hopeful message to young people who feel insecure when faced with a raw in-person interaction. “Faces is about getting over our fear and remembering that we’re all human, and that trying to connect with someone on a real, in-person level is important,” says Felix of the inspiration behind the track. Veronica echoes his sentiment, saying “We want to remind anyone listening that there’s nothing more important than the people we surround ourselves with, so don’t hide from the faces.” “Faces” is the newest single from Felix‘s forthcoming album and is out now on Physical Presents.
With his dreamy, melodic and yet dance-floor friendly sound, Felix Cartal has established himself as a force to be reckoned with in modern dance music. 2017 proved to be a monumental year for the producer, who was included in Billboard‘s “13 Dance Artists Who Dominated 2017” feature and whose Spotify channel has over 75 million streams. Felix‘s appeal lies in his ability to convey complex emotions through his music, like the hopeful angst of “Get What You Give,” leaving listeners with a positive emotional catharsis. To this effect, “Get What You Give” has soared to the #1 spot on Sirius XM Chill and the Hype Machine and rapidly climbed the US and international charts, becoming a Certified Gold record in Canada and named one of Billboard‘s “50 Best Dance/Electronic Songs of 2017.” The track recently earned nominations at the prestigious Canadian Juno Awards, for Dance Recording of the Year as well as Producer of the Year. Shortly after, Felix released “Hold Tight,” the swoon-worthy B side track to “Get What You Give,” which also received support from Billboard and experienced similar success. With such immense recent successes, we can’t wait to see what’s next for Felix Cartal. Catch him live during his new residency at the famed Drai’s Beach Club in Las Vegas, which kicks off on April 8th!
Brand New Moon, the new project from ex Fiction (Moshi Moshi Records) founder and frontman Mike Barrett, are set to release a new track on the 20th of April 2018.
‘Wild’, the follow up to the recent ‘Diehard‘ single, was recorded and self produced in his London studio with collaborators Rob Shuttz (bass), Meg Woof (backing vocals), Nick Barrett (guitar), Jacob Smedegaard (drums) and Nick Walters (flugelhorn & trumpet) and will be available digitally at all the usual the major outlets.
This cinematic new single blends dream-like imagery with an intricately layered sonic palette that recalls the progressive pop of late-era Talk Talk and hints at what to expect from the forthcoming debut album, ‘Difference & Repetition’, which is due later in the year.
Brand New Moon, who played a Huw Stephens Presents show at The Social in London late last year, have announced a new live date in the capital at The Lock Tavernin Chalk Farm on the 28th of July 2018. More dates will be announced very soon to coincide with the album release.

Having formed in 1991, No Fun At All quickly became one of the torchbearers of European punk rock. Following the release of 1994’s No Straight Angels, the band found themselves headlining stages all over the world. Through until 2001, they continued to tour all over the world in support of 1995’s Out Of Bounds, 1997’s The Big Knockover and 2000’s State Of Flow records, before calling it a day on the band.
After a show offer in the Spring of 2004, the band found that enjoyment and love again for playing live that had been lost whilst relentlessly touring throughout the 90s. With rekindled enthusiasm, No Fun At All committed themselves to a light touring schedule over the years between 2004 and 2017, including supporting the 2009 release, Lowrider, that the band self-released through Beat ’em Down Records.
2016 saw a lineup shuffle, with two long-time members of the band deciding to take a step back. Following a band meeting in a Vienna restaurant, they decided that it was the time to step it up once again. They recruited Stefan Bratt, formerly of Atlas Losing Grip, and Fredrik Eriksson, formerly of Twopointeight to fill the empty bassist and guitarist positions.
With fresh enthusiasm, the new line up jumped straight into the rehearsal room to work on the new material for Grit. Alongside a number of shows and festivals throughout the summer and fall of 2017 the band put together the new 12 tracks and hit the studio with Mathias Färm from Millencolin as co-producer in his wonderful Soundlab Studio.
Grit will be released on Vinyl, CD and Digital through Bird Attack Records on 13th April 2018

Field Medic releases “Let Freedom Ring 2,” shares tour dates with The Neighbourhood & Health

Today, Jaala reveals a new offering ‘Sames‘ from her forthcoming record Joonya Spirit out Friday 20th April via Bedroom Suck Recordings / Remote Control Records.
Lead singer and guitar Cosima describes the track which premiered on Triple R’s Breaking And Entering yesterday “It’s a song written from the perspective of Pikachu who, to quote HTMLflowers, wants to ‘go full Raichu’. Replace the word ‘sames’ with ‘caterpillar’ and you’re getting pretty close.”
Through your ears, deep in your mind, down in your heart, in a way you never knew you wanted, Jaalawill caress you and Jaala will entice you. Like the roots of a tree Jaala is ever growing, pruned only by themselves and never by the expectations of the public.
In 2015, Jaala released their debut album Hard Hold running out of the gate and to the top of most critics ‘Best Of’ lists including a nod for AMP Album Of The Year, feature record on triple j, Album Of The Week on RRR, FBi Radio, RTR and SYN FM and clocking rave reviews on Pitchfork, FADER and NPRabroad.
Since the release of Hard Hold they have transformed into a completely new animal, stylistically and literally. The addition of Carolyn Schofield (synth) of Fia Fiell fame has moved the band towards a more haunting, dreamy experimental pop movement as opposed to the guitar shredding melt your face prog rock vibes of yesteryear.
Vocalist/guitarist Cosima pay and drummer/genius Maria Moles stand firm with their intricately woven telepathy. The ornate and ever flowing creativity is still ubiquitous, only it feels different now, rather than falling down a beautiful waterfall into a pit of demons that become your mates it’s more like your feet have been confiscated at the same time as you’ve been given the ability to fly.
Keep your ears peeled for April 2018 when their new album Joonya Spirit is unleashed upon the world in all it’s untouchable glory.
