Statement from Untitled Group It is with a heavy heart that we must announce the cancellation of all upcoming events at The Drive-In.  Unfortunately the current COVID-19 outbreaks in Victoria that have sent many hotspot areas (within close proximity to our venue) into lockdown have prevented the safe execution of this event. The safety of our patrons, staff and artists is our top priority and after consulting with various experts and officials this tough, but necessary decision was made.  Further to immediate health concerns, the possibility of artists being able to travel interstate is becoming increasingly uncertain and in some cases is now impossible. We want to particularly thank everyone who bought a ticket & supported our endeavour to keep the music industry alive during these testing times. The Drive-in was set to create over 250 jobs per event & inject over $2 million dollars into a much suffering sector of our economy and we are devastated with this outcome.  We are keeping our heads held high, and will redirect our focus towards summer festivals with optimism. REFUNDS: All ticket purchasers will receive an email from Oztix on Monday the 6th of July which will provide further details on the refund process. We look forward to having a dance together this summer.

SHARES NEW SINGLE DON’T LET IT WAIT

FORTHCOMING ALBUM ROME
SET FOR AUGUST 28 RELEASE

NATIONAL FANS FIRST TOUR THROUGH OCTOBER

MEDIA RELEASE:: FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE, FRIDAY JUNE 26

One of Australia’s favourite storytellers, Josh Pyke has today shared his affecting new single Don’t Let It Wait, a bittersweet song written to inspire us all to enjoy every moment.  This is the fourth single to be shared from Pyke’s impending album Rome, set for release on August 28, with the track complemented by a fittingly heartwarming video.

“Don’t Let It Wait is a song that now feels entirely prescient. I hope the sentiment in the song is one that people feel as we move out of the worst of Covid-19,” explains Pyke. “Releasing music during this time has been a huge challenge, but this is what I love and how I engage with the world, and the idea of holding back on that goes against what this particular song is about. It feels especially right to release this song at a time like thisas it is about grabbing a moment. Tell the person you love how you feel, dive into the ocean when you have the chance. We get so caught up in the daily grind we often leave things for later, and by the time we come back around, the moment has passed. This song is a reminder to myself as much as anyone to seize the day.”

The video for Don’t Let It Wait was worked from conception to completion by Jefferton James and Dimity Kennedy from Mountain Folks Films and features Dimity’s 91-year-old Nana dancing to the song in her living room. “It’s a celebration of life, organic and joyous and perfectly embodies the idea of seizing a moment,” explains Pyke.  “Jefferton and I have been working together since 2010, and he’s done lots of clips and art for me in the past. He’s responsible for all the clips for Rome so far, as well as the album art, and the lyric book art. He’s an all round creative legend.”

Rome is Pyke’s long-awaited follow-up to Pyke’s 2015 LP But For All These Shrinking Hearts – which debuted at Number 2 in Australia – and marks his return to his solo career following a two-year break from the stage.

Never one to sit idle, Pyke offers insight into his busy schedule between his last two LP drops, explaining,“I wrote a lot, released a psychedelic rock album under the pseudonym Sword Owls. I produced songs for film and TV including a bunch of stuff with Justine Clarke and the Beached Az crew. I wrote 6 kids books, two of which have come out in 2019 and the rest are due for release in 2020/21. I continued my work running the JP Partnership grant, and my other advocacy work with the Indigenous Literacy Foundation. It was an immensely busy and rewarding creative period and it recharged my batteries and allowed me some mental perspective that has me keen and ready to fire the album and touring lifestyle back up again.”

Rome was written, recorded and produced by Pyke in his own home studio, Timshel Industries, with Pyke playing most instruments himself with some added help from friends Josh Schuberth, Elana Stone, Stephanie Zarka, Glenn Hopper and Matt Fell, who would each pop around to lay some parts down when required. “I can’t imagine making a record any other way in the future,” explains Pyke who then jumped on a plane to Portland Oregan to mix the album with Grammy-nominated producer/engineer Tucker Martine (The Decemberists, Sufjan Stevens, My Morning Jacket).

“The title Rome refers to the expression that ‘all roads lead to Rome.’  We can’t escape ourselves. We can’t avoid what stares us in the face as our personal realities, and if we don’t address these things we risk becoming ruins of ourselves.”

Collaborating with Crowbar, the new album will coincide with the release of a limited run of Rome Shiraz by Josh Pyke, put together by Tim Sproal of Minim & Boomtown wines in Castlemaine, Victoria. “I’m a firm believer in creativity as a way to enhance people’s experiences. This album feels like a red wine album. It’s a listening album, sit back with a glass of wine and fully engage.”

From his first appearance in the Hottest 100 with Middle of the Hill coming in at number 19 in 2005, to the 2017 release of his greatest hits album The Best of Josh Pyke + B Sides and Rarities, and now to Rome in 2020, Josh Pyke has been a part of the Australian music landscape for over 15 years.  Well loved for his intricate storytelling, thoughtful folk pop arrangements and finely honed stage chops, Pyke has released six studio albums, all of which have gained prestigious accolades and critical acclaim.

Rome is set for release on August 28 via Wonderlick Entertainment / Sony Music Entertainment Australia.

Josh Pyke will be hitting the road to celebrate Rome and will play an intimate run of fans first shows through October.“I was so looking forward to hitting the road before Covid hit and I’m truly chomping at the bit to share these songs with a live audience,” Pyke says. “I’ll be playing solo and find that expressing these songs in that context really resonates. By the time I’m able to play again, it’ll be a celebration of not only these songs but of performance in general. It’ll be a joyful return to the stage and the world in general.”

In what will be regarded as an incredible act of bravery Bluesfest has announced Early Bird tickets to its 2021 festival will go on sale today. This announcement comes one week ahead of what is said to be an historical First Artist Announcement next week on July 8th. “Right now the only constant is change, and we are ready for it”, says Festival Director, Peter Noble OAM. “We believe in music and we are coming back for Bluesfest 2021, not just for us, but because the industry needs us to come back. Our industry, the music business has its back against the wall. COVID has shut us down. Since the middle of March, almost everyone in our industry has received no income. As the Festival Director of Bluesfest and a music industry veteran I strongly feel that we must make positive steps to move forward and show the thousands of people that depend on us that there is a future coming - our industry and events will come back. We know there will be more challenges, however, we also know that we are a resilient industry that loves and wants to get back to the business of entertaining. As those challenges present we will meet and rise to every single one of them to deliver Bluesfest. We call on our industry to get behind us at this time because we are leading the charge. If we find that the internationals can’t come, we will add more Aussies. If we find the internationals can come, we might add more internationals. What our team is dedicated to doing is everything it takes to present Bluesfest Easter 2021 in a manner where it will be our most legendary festival yet.”   At this point in time the government will allow Bluesfest the capacity to host 7500 people seated onsite. It is envisaged this figure will increase as restrictions are gradually lifted between now and next April. Bluesfest has made it clear to its patrons that there is no risk in buying tickets as all monies will be securely held in a locked account should the unlikely need to refund become a necessity.  “When purchasing tickets you can feel proud that not only are you supporting Bluesfest, you are supporting the greater music industry get back up on its feet and that’s something to sing about”. In response to the announcement regarding the $250 million bail out offered to the Arts Sector by the Prime Minister Peter Noble says “This funding is desperately required by independent Australian music operators who have their backs against the COVID wall.  Government should support the independents and recognise that the multi-nationals have the monetary reserves to ride this crisis through.”  Annually Bluesfest employs approximately 1000 employees and contractors – not including the artists and their crews.  “When you factor in the full artist crews, their managers, the agents, publicists, drivers, security teams, and everybody else - that’s thousands of people we are responsible for and therefore we know that we have no choice but to get back to business and that’s exactly what we’ve been doing since Bluesfest 2020 was banned in March.  We decided the week we were shut down by government order that Bluesfest 2021 was on, and that is why we are at the point where we are in a position to go on sale with our Early Bird tickets today and announce our first artist announcement next week. “We invite our industry to move forward with us to a future we can all celebrate the live performing arts again. Bluesfest is an all-independent Australian company.  Please join us to invest into the live industry’s future.” Bluesfest is are committed to presenting Bluesfest 2021 and are working on different plans for the different scenarios that the government will roll out between now and then. Due to the fluid nature of this situation Bluesfest will create a new space on its website where it will host its full Mission Statement for 2021 along with updated information as it comes in hot from the PMs office. This along with a FAQ section will help answer all the questions as they arise so fans and ticketholders can remain fully updated. Get your Early Bird tickets now.  “What I can say is whilst we don’t know what the future holds for the greater music industry you can be assured we here at Bluesfest are fully committed to presenting  an outstanding event in accordance with government regulations”. Festival Director, Peter Noble OAM.

Silverstein Share Alternate Version of ‘Where Are You’ + Announce July Livestream Event – ‘Quaranstein’ Digital EP Available Now: All Proceeds Donated To NAACP and Black Legal Action Centre New Album ‘A Beautiful Place To Drown’ Out Now via UNFD

After the release of their ninth studio album A Beautiful Place To Drown in March, hardcore legends Silverstein are back with an alternate version of album track ‘Where Are You‘, recorded during the sessions of the record.

The original track exemplifies the album’s expert blend of aggression and modern production flourishes, while this new take strips back the distortion to emphasise the melodies at the core of Silverstein’s songwriting.

It comes alongside the announce of a special livestream event on July 19 (6am AEST Monday July 20) captured through professional video and audio. Tickets and more details available here.

2020 finds the five-piece celebrating their 20th anniversary as a band and while worldwide tour plans have been postponed, the band have been staying busy and recently shared their Quaranstein video. Featuring performances of five classic songs from across their catalog along with guest appearances and more, the performances are now available as a digital EP with all proceeds going to the NAACP and Black Legal Action Centre.

Arguably one of the  most consistently active, influential, and crowd-pleasing bands in their arena, Silverstein break out into daring new territory on their latest record A Beautiful Place To Drown. Their boundary pushing spirit is on full display on the album’s multiple high-profile collabs – ranging from Princess Nokia and Underoath’s Aaron Gillespie, Beartooth’s Caleb Shomo, Simple Plan’s Pierre Bouvier, and more – indicative of the band’s wide-reaching impact and their ability to reach listeners in all worlds of music.

Lyrically, the album explores the mental duress that seems to be inextricable from the personal and societal challenges of modern life, often focusing on external perspectives and even political elements without losing the band’s trademark intimacy. Overall A Beautiful Place To Drown is built to please old fans and new ones alike, and proves exactly why Silverstein remain a vital and powerful voice in alternative music and beyond.

PRAISE FOR ‘A BEAUTIFUL PLACE TO DROWN’

“…even so many years on, Silverstein still sounds the best they ever have…” NYLON

“[Silverstein] have risen from their underground roots to the top of the emo and post-hardcore genre…” Billboard

“Silverstein effortlessly create a blended sound while staying true to their roots…” Alternative Press

Date: 9th - 12th July Location: Island of Pag, Croatia  Despite the current state of the world, a small brand with a strong local following decided to do what everyone else was afraid of doing, and that was to keep the good times rolling in a world filled with as many uncertainties as ever. So, coming out of lockdown, BSH Events had one goal, and one goal only, and that was to never stop dancing despite the music industry taking a massive hit, as most festivals around the world have been postponed until 2021.  Undeniably, the cards were stacked against this Croatian brand, which has been throwing some of the best parties at some of the unique locations across the country since 2013. For a brand that has gained a loyal fanbase thanks to their unique approach to venue selection as well as a genuine love for music, scaling up to a project, this initiative seemed very ambitious. Not to mention they had to make sure that the festival abides by all epidemiological measures necessary.  But nonetheless, the BSH boys got to work and against all the odds setting up a star-studded 4-day long BSH Island music festival in beautiful Croatia, on the amazing Island of Pag lasting from the 9th until the 12th of July. Island locals have dubbed Croatia's Ibiza due to its beautiful beaches and amazing nightlife, bound to take any visitor on an unforgettable musical journey.  The same island whose clubs on Zrce Beach have raised generations of ravers and party enthusiasts ever since the opening of Kalypso in 1987. The same club that will be hosting the official BSH Island Afterparties, along with the festival’s main venue Noa Beach Club, a club that literally stands on water, and features a newly built and already sold-out Noa Glamping Resort, whose luxurious villas with swimming pools and a breath-taking view of the Adriatic, will be accommodating the festival attendees. Throughout its younger history, the club has hosted reputable festivals such as Sonus and Hideout and had some of the world's most famous artists perform there.  The artists ready to rock the house this summer's BSH Island festival at Noa Beach Club are nothing short of spectacular, to say the least… The festival’s main headliners are international superstars, the likes of ARTBAT, Paco Osuna, Richy Ahmed, and Honey Dijon.  In addition to that, the festival's opening will be headlined by Manchester-based brand, Kaluki, whose performances are in demand from Ibiza to Miami. On top of bringing us one of the headliners in Richy Ahmed, they are bringing along Pirate Copy, Joey Daniel, Ki Creighton, and BSH Events' own, Pablo Panda. Kaluki are frequent guests at some of the most popular festivals such as Parklife in England, the BPM Festival held this year in Costa Rica, and many others. Their debut in Croatia could potentially mean more Ibiza based brands coming to Croatia. In an effort to expand on the musical experience, BSH Events has involved Under No Illusion Recordings, which will also showcase the likes of Andrew Meller, Tolstoi, and Viktor on top of a special Pirate Copy b2b Ki Creighton show.  Supporting the star-studded lineup will be upcoming local artists listed in no particular order such as PEZNT, Aldo Morro, Dea Tosh, Tom Bug, Goran Starcevic, Full ferry, Yakka, Inav Coste, Kali, Mike&Me, Mony, Tino Simich, Urban Pfeifer, DJ Jock, Shipe, Senno, Sin, Sonnet, Halaus, Neroa b2b Damian Leboss, and Stanky Baby. Some of these artists will be showcasing their tunes on Sunday at Mixmag Adria's daytime stage as well. The festival has already sold more than 1500 tickets in record time. In addition to that, the total number of attendees expected is around 4000 in total, proving that the hype around BSH Island is real. And with a quality lineup on a beautiful island, it is the perfect musical experience for anyone looking to enjoy the beauties of the Croatian coast, so it is not surprising that European dance lovers are truly eager to go.  Moreover, the festival hopes to spark the Croatian tourist economy by organizing and referring its guests to supplementary vacation activities in order to let the festival-goers explore the amazing wonders of the Adriatic Sea. The official pre-party for the festival happened on the 21st of June at Mint Club in Zagreb and left visitors ecstatic thanks to the performance put on by British DJ and producer Richy Ahmed, who will be returning to make his BSH Island festival debut. As of the moment of writing this press release, BSH is still actively pursuing potential partnerships and collaborations, which would make this festival's first year even more unique, so you never know what could happen in a week or so. But one thing is sure - no one wants to miss out on the BSH Island festival debut. Full Lineup: Aldo Morro, ARTBAT, Andrew Meller, Damian Leboss, Dea Tosh, DJ Jock, Full Ferry, Goran Starcevic, Halaus, Honey Dijon, Inav Coste, Joey Daniel, Kali, Ki Creighton, Mike&Me, Mony, Neroa, Pablo Panda, Paco Osuna, Peznt, Pirate Copy, Richy Ahmed, Senno, Shipe, Sin, Sonnet, Tolstoi, Tom Bug, Urban Pfeifer, Vedran Car, Viktor, Yakka Headliners ARTBAT A Ukrainian DJ duo that has an admirable rise to fame in recent years. Its members, Artur & Batish are currently among the most successful DJs and enjoy global recognition. The key to their success lies in their unique production, which is highlighted by massive sounds and dark undertones. Their songs bring powerful energy to any venue, no matter a stadium or an underground garage. In addition to dominating many dance charts, their music is widely appreciated around the world, as they are frequent guests at many festivals in places such as Brazil, Germany, Ibiza, and the US. PACO OSUNA A Spanish DJ and producer of techno music. Since 1999, he has been a resident DJ at the famous Amnesia club in Ibiza. He was one of the first techno DJs to play in Ibiza and is considered to be a legend in the industry. He often performs in many German cities such as Berlin and Frankfurt, which hold some of his favorite venues to which he is always happy to return. RICHY AHMED A British DJ and producer, with a deep underlying passion for music and people, who understands the fundamentals of what makes a dance floor tick. A veteran of many summers spent in Ibiza and an original resident of Paradise at DC10, Richy has toured the world playing some of the finest clubs and festivals around, from Panorama Bar to Space Miami and Glastonbury to Tomorrowlands, Richy is no stranger to applying his infectious ability to get people dancing. HONEY DIJON  A popular American musician and stage artist. She has successfully been flirting with a multitude of music genres, even though her base is the world of underground electronic music. Known for her subtle mixing skills, her almost sensuous transitions between house and techno music bring a warm, hypnotic vibe to her DJ sets. She is a frequent guest of Panorama Bar in Berlin, Sub Club in Glasgow, Block in Tel Aviv, Output in NYC, Space in Ibiza, and Smart Bar in Chicago.

BOOTLEG RASCAL REVEAL TASTER TRACK ‘MILK IN MY BOWL’

by the partae June 26, 2020
written by the partae

PRAISE FOR ‘MILK IN MY BOWL’

“Nourishing stomp-down from this duo! Bootleg Rascal are on a roll in 2020.”
Dave Ruby Howe – triple j Unearthed (AUS)

“Bootleg Rascal continue their reign with new single, Milk In My Bowl.”
Pilerats (AUS)

Added to Spotify’s ‘New Music Friday (AU/NZ)’ and ‘Indie Arrivals’ playlists

Bootleg Rascal have just unveiled ‘Milk In My Bowl’ – another taste from their forthcoming staggered EP titled ‘Collaborations of Very Isolated Delinquents “19’ – produced by the band themselves, Ian Pritchett (Boo Seeka, Kim Churchill, Angus and Julia Stone), and Simon Dobson (Little May, STUPID BABY).

‘Milk In My Bowl’ is another shining example of the duo’s ability to push sonic boundaries, while simultaneously delivering on a cohesive sound that is their own. The track consistently maintains its groove-laden pace, before shifting into a slow building bridge that gradually melds the front half of the arrangement with the latter.

Front man Carlos Lara describes the creative process behind the track:

“’Milk In My Bowl’ was another great opportunity for us to experiment with our sound and give something different back to fans. Over the last twelve months, we’ve constantly been pushing the envelope sonically and it’s the most fun we’ve ever had writing and releasing music. The lyrical content matter follows on from ‘We Independent’, where we had removed ourselves from a toxic situation. This account further highlights the realisation that we’re so much better off, and in a way it’s us saying our peace and moving forward”.

After restrictions imposed by the Australian government, the band were forced to reschedule their East Coast capital city shows to mid-late September 2020, while their performance at Big Pineapple Music Festival has been moved to Saturday 21 November.

Since their mid-2013 inception, Bootleg Rascal have released a slew of singles, an EP and two albums, all warmly received by critics and fans around the world, with support from the likes of NME, The Line of Best Fit, Clash Magazine, Pilerats and Wonderland Magazine. Multiple tracks have been added to Spotify and Apple Music playlists, high rotation on triple j and they’ve performed on the station’s esteemed ‘Like a Version’ segment.

The band have continually traversed the globe playing multiple sold out headline shows in France, UK, Holland, Germany, New Zealand and Australia, and performed sold out shows in the USA. They’ve also regularly appeared on major Australian festivals including Falls Festival, The Big Pineapple Festival, Lost Paradise, Hills are Alive, Festival of the Sun and Party in the Paddock.

‘Milk In My Bowl’ is out Friday June 26

ID&T’s Sensation presents impressive tribute called ‘Monument of Light’ on 4th of July The show is dedicated to hope and celebrating life

written by the partae

Saturday July 4 2020, almost 20 years after the first edition of the succesful dance event Sensation, the renewed concept Beyond Sensation by event organization ID&T should have taken place in the Johan Cruijff ArenA. Like almost all events this summer, Beyond Sensation can’t happen this year so it will be moved to July 3rd 2021. However, ID&T wouldn’t be ID&T if no creative alternative were devised to provide the fans with an unforgettable experience anyway. The ‘Monument of Light’ show will illuminate the Johan Cruijff ArenA and will be captured in a breathtaking livestream that can be viewed from all over the world.

“With this show, we pay tribute to everyone who has kept their spirits up during the lockdown and, above all, to encourage them to celebrate life in full glory again soon. After darkness, comes light. With this fact in mind, ‘Monument of Light’ was born. The show is a creative translation of Sensation, where artistic experience and entertainment have been at the forefront for decades”, says organizer Eric Keijer.

The show starts at 11PM CEST and can be viewed from all over the world via www.sensation.com. The spectacle flows seamlessly into a special 2-hour set by Sunnery James &  Ryan Marciano, which fits perfectly with Sensation’s story line.

Hello friends.

We live in Ibiza and deeply love our island!

Just a couple of weeks into the quarantine Grego G suggested the idea of joining the love we have for the music and the time we currently spend staying physically distant from each other, to come virtually closer around a common project.

Stephane Ghenacia and Alex Garcia loved the idea and joined forces to take advantage lock-down situation to help people, despite the distance.

Coming together in these times of trouble allows us to keep a social link, adding humanity to this never foreseen situation.

We have decided to help the FOOD FOR IBIZA organisation, which does a remarkable job supporting the families who face difficulties in Ibiza.

For many different reasons, this island means a lot to us; therefore, we care a lot for its inhabitants.

The people who work and live here contribute to preserving the exceptional and unique identity of Ibiza. The Ibiza people and kids are the future of this magical island, so we have to take care of them. We have created a Non-Profit Label exclusively dedicated to this cause and project, and all the profits will be donated to the FOOD FOR IBIZA association.

The principle is simple: unite as many artists as possible to create music and create a direct beneficial impact in the community.

We thought to start with forty artist and the list just got bigger and bigger.

The band also announced a new 'cloudy' vinyl variant to celebrate release day, which can be purchased from select indie record stores today. Stream/Purchase the album here. The masters of groove wrote and recorded the highly-anticipated follow-up to 2018's Chiaroscuro over 18 months, and discussing the expectation they felt to deliver on this record, Ocean Alley shared "The pressure was immense for the band but also for each of us individually. We had never been so exposed to critique like that before and it's not something we ever expected to experience when we started doing this. At times we all felt a bit out of control but it was important for us to go through it together so we can back each other up." The band chronicled Lonely Diamond's conception and progression with their Constructing The Diamond video series which gave a behind-the-scenes look into their studio jam sessions, featuring previously released singles 'Stained Glass', 'Infinity', 'Tombstone' and 'Hot Chicken', as well as previewing album highlights such as 'Way Down' and 'All Worn Out.' While much of Ocean Alley's allure stems from their cruisey, laid-back swagger, the core themes of the album provide a darker snapshot of the impact that life on the road can have, exploring feelings of escapism and isolation. "We had a pretty hectic touring schedule and spent a lot of time travelling which made us feel isolated at times. That constant pressure to perform whilst also managing things back home took a toll differently on us all. For us, music is a way to escape those feelings and doing it together has really reinforced how important it is to lean on each other when we have to. Music is our way of unwinding and helps remind ourselves to have fun and enjoy life. Music has a special way of doing that." They continued, "Mental health can be a touchy subject but it shouldn’t be. Because we are very open with each other, that helps dissolve strong feelings and allows us to move forward together. The first step in breaking down barriers with other people is breaking down those barriers within yourself and realising that no one is perfect and everyone has bad days. When you can love and support yourself, then you are in the perfect position to care for and support others." Nat Vazer shares Twin Peaks inspired DIY video for ‘Higher Places’ + East Coast album launch shows

“A powerful record which has seen the support community radio around the country, whether it be by a playlist add or a feature album, Vazer has undoubtedly created one of the year’s most immersive releases.” – Tyler Jenke, Rolling Stone Australia

Following the highly anticipated release of her debut album Is This Offensive And Loud? Melbourne artist Nat Vazer is thrilled to finally be able to announce a run of East Coast album launch shows over the next month. The intimate live performer will be hitting up Melbourne’s Small Time, Beer Mash and Rocksteady Records as well as heading up the coast for a pair of shows at Wollongong’s Music Farmers and Brisbane’s Jet Black Cat. To celebrate the exciting news, Nat is gifting fans with another dreamy video clip, this time for her latest focus single ‘Higher Places’.

“The clip was filmed at Manorism studios which used to be a theatre in the 1940s and 50s. We wanted to capture the essence of a past-time for this video so I thought the studio would suit that, and it was also pretty versatile which was handy for all the different scenes. We filmed the clip over a 9 hour day but most of that time was actually spent on constructing the set, playing around with different ideas and working out the lighting situ.

There’s this theme of otherworldliness and play with light and dark which has been very much influenced by David Lynch’s ‘Twin Peaks’. But the idea of the smokey haze, the silhouettes and having an old phone and TV on set is also taken from the neo-noir film ‘Lost Highway’ which is a classic Lynch film.

As we were in isolation, the filming was a slow process with only two of us. We also had a limited budget so all our props were secondhand and picked up from Facebook Marketplace and hard rubbish. It was a very DIY approach – we used zip ties, a metal rod and cut up fabric to make curtains.” – Nat Vazer

“The film clip was recorded during isolation. So we had a small budget, limited resources and we also had to build our own set. We had to try and create a vast, ethereal landscape and create many locations using one studio space. To achieve that, we had to dress up the set in different ways. We threw in extra lighting and borrowed a smoke machine from friends at Lulie Tavern in Abbotsford. They told us we had to get our own ‘rave juice’. We didn’t know what that was so we went and got regular smoke machine juice from a local music shop.” – Benjamin Joel

Praise has already been pouring in for Vazer’s debut album released 29 May via Hotel Motel Records, garnering acclaim both at home and abroad from online publications, national broadcasters and community radio stations throughout the country, and selling out her first vinyl pressing in days. Do not miss your chance to catch Nat Vazer present songs from her stunning debut Is This Offensive And Loud?
