Hot off the heels of two stellar singles so far this year, KGATLW are back at it with another crunchy groove. This one imbued with a rigid clockwork backbeat that’s in no hurry to snap the listener from the psychedelic trance it induces. ‘Straws In The Wind’ is a headphone odyssey, with scant percussion and delicate acoustic plucks spread over the stereo spectrum, jumping from left to right and back across. Harmonicas, mellotron-like synths and microtonal riffage sit below Ambrose Kenny-Smith’s vocals, as each melody melts and falls after each other in steady motion. Both locking into and softening the percussive edges of this 5 minute roller. |

Working again with long time collaborator Jason Galea, the video for ‘Straws’ sees the band bring 80’s kitsch to the screen. With a VCR fever dream that intoxicates and warps the viewer with each blinking glitch and jerky skitter. |
