Bombay Bicycle Club are very proud to release their new album – and first in five years – Everything Else Has Gone Wrong, out now via the band’s own label Mmm… Records / Caroline Australia. The album is met with glowing reviews internationally, and profiled here in Australia as Feature Album on Double J all this week.
The record was largely written in Cornwall and recorded in the US, alongside Grammy Award-winning producer John Congleton (St. Vincent/Sharon Van Etten/War on Drugs). It features latest single and title track ‘Everything Else Has Gone Wrong’ andthe band’s euphoric returning single ‘Eat, Sleep, Wake (Nothing But You)‘, as celebrated by international tastemakers including Pitchfork (“Invigorating hooks”), Billboard (“Rhythmic and filled with stunning melodies”) and NME(“A long awaited comeback”).
Bombay Bicycle Club have continued to grow, develop and evolve since the release of their debut album, I Had The Blues But I Shook Them Loose, back in 2009 when they signalled their arrival as young teenagers. New music joins Bombay Bicycle Club’s #1 selling, Mercury Music Prize nominated fourth album So Long, See You Tomorrow (2014) – including Hottest 100 voted single ‘Luna’ (#98) – and sophomore album A Different Kind Of Fix (2011) – triple j Feature Album, including Hottest 100 voted single ‘Shuffle’ (#88).
Rarely in recent years has there been a British guitar band who have the craft and ability to avoid categorisation whilst uniting hundreds of thousands of fans across the globe. With an innate ear for melody and invention, the four-piece are a very welcome return to the fold just as British guitar music makes a timely renaissance.
