Grace TurnerĀ plays a final hand for 2018 with gutsy end-of-year singleĀ ‘Easy I Fall’,Ā a fierce progression from her previous heart-stopperĀ ‘Dead or Alive’Ā
Streaming over 500,000 times since release, āDead or Aliveā landed the Newcastle based singer-songwriter inĀ Spotify US’ Viral 50, peaking at #24. ReceivingĀ triple j airplay,Ā rotation onĀ triple j unearthed, Double J, FBi RadioĀ and love from community radio across the country,Ā ‘Dead or Alive’Ā was also included inĀ Apple Music’s ‘Best of the Week.’
Now, Grace offers a fresh perspective inĀ āEasy I Fallā.Ā Written at the same time as āDead or Aliveā, āEasy I Fallā was recorded slowly over a year between a back shed and a spare bedroom. This final iteration hits hard up front with its intentionally abrupt opening lineĀ āIf you wanna fuck me then just tell me that you love me…ā
Turner explains āThis song is about being tirelessly perused. I used to play it first in my set to shock people into listening to me. I often joke in my live show that itās about trying to break up with someone but sleeping with them instead. In a deeper sense itās about power imbalances in relationships, not being listened to and putting someoneās wants and needs above your own.ā
A captivating troubadour, Grace often has her audiences at a standstill, with those present hooked on her every note. TurnerĀ has so far supportedĀ Alex the Astronaut, Gabriella Cohen, Jess Locke, KingswoodandĀ Phil Jamieson (Grinspoon)Ā in 2018 and recently playedĀ tastemaker festivalsĀ FKA FestivalandĀ Against the Grain.Ā Soon she and her band head toĀ Festival of the SunĀ andĀ Mountain Sounds FestivalĀ with more shows to be announced in 2019.
With ‘Easy I Fall’ marking just the third official release from Grace Turner, everyone is already falling hard for this rising talent.
