NEW ZEALAND PRODUCER BAYNK RELEASES COLLABORATION WITH AUSTRALIAN POP SENSATION GLADES

BUY/STREAM: BAYNK – OFF LIMITS FEAT. GLADES
“Surefire Banger” – Noisey
“electronic adrenaline rush” – HillyDilly
“a divine mixture of light and shade, the rough with the smooth” – CLASH
“shows off the simple ‘less-is-more’ songwriting…a staple of his output” – Complex
“eternal summer vibes” – C-Heads Magazine
Breakthrough New Zealand producer and songwriter BAYNK has today released his new single “Off Limits,” a collaboration with Australian pop sensation GLADES. “Off Limits” is a slick electro-pop gem, showcasing BAYNK’s incredible knack for embracing modern musical innovations, brought to life with the serene sounds of GLADES vocalist/guitarist Karina Wykes. The track is available everywhere now via All Points – listen here.

On the release, BAYNK (real name Jock Nowell-Usticke) explains “I had always wanted to work with GLADES after hearing Karina’s voice pop up on the radio one day. It’s so unique and interesting. Once I got to their Airbnb I realised how much of a writing powerhouse the whole group is and how in tune they are with each other. The whole process was easy & natural and the song just sort of fell out of my brain.”

With GLADES further detailing “We wrote “Off Limits” with BAYNK while we were writing the album in our Airbnb living room-turned-studio on a hot summer LA day. There was a dodgy looking rope swing in the back that none of us wanted to try, but he was the first one to try it. “Off Limits” is about being scared of admitting your feelings for someone. When you’re afraid to cross the line, in the fear of losing something that’s already so good.”

BAYNK has also announced a 2019 North American headline tour. The tour is set to hit 13 cities and will kick off January 31 in Boston, with Australian artist Golden Vessel confirmed as direct support. Tickets are on sale now.

The tour announcement comes on the heels of BAYNK’s Nov/Dec 2018 tour as special guest with San Holo. June 2018 saw BAYNK set out on a debut U.S. headline run, selling out *all four shows* in NYC, Los Angeles, Washington, DC and Denver.

BAYNK has seen a meteoric rise from sheer obscurity to the brink of breakout in just 2 years with releases amassing over 65MM+ streams across platforms to date. Recent single “Settle” with UK artist and vocalist Sinéad Harnett was supported by a video co-directed by BAYNK and Spencer Graves, whose credits include work with Kendrick Lamar and Lauv.

GLADES are an electronic-pop trio from Sydney, who were propelled into the limelight through endorsement from Troye Sivan for their cover of his single “Fools” in 2015. With a massive 80MM streams of their singles to date, they have just released their acclaimed debut album To Love You.

The new single is a precursor to an upcoming EP from the NZ producer and a follow-up to a previous double A-side release “Be In Love” / “Years,” which dropped earlier this year. His first release since fall 2017’s debut Someone’s EP, the double A-side was released alongside an incredible video for “Be In Love,” which was also co-directed by Spencer Graves.

Stay tuned for more news to follow.

BAYNK TEAMS UP WITH UK SONGSTRESS SINÉAD HARNETT ON NEW SINGLE ‘SETTLE’ // OUT NOW ON ALL POINTS

by the partae October 3, 2018

“BAYNK’s dusty club beats provide a subtle and unimposing backdrop for Harnett’s striking and immediately infectious vocals” – Complex
***
Today, New Zealand producer and songwriter BAYNK has released a brand new collaborative single with UK artist and vocalist Sinéad Harnett. Premiered by Complex UK, the track is titled “Settle” and is available everywhere now via AllPoints here.

“Settle” finds BAYNK showcasing his signature pop sensibilities alongside textured electronic elements and tight arrangement, revealing some of his best work to-date. Previously collaborating with artists such as Disclosure, Rudimental, and Ryan Hemsworth, Sinéad Harnett adds a stunningly raw vocal with sweeping melodies giving the track a sensuous, poignant edge.

Of the single, BAYNK details, “Meeting Sinead for the first time was like seeing a friend I hadn’t seen in 10 years. Catching up about what we’d missed over the years led to settle being written. I didn’t want to overshadow the touching vocal with intense production so I left it minimal and let the words dictate the music. Can’t wait for you all to hear it, Sinead’s voice is incredible.” Harnett adds, “The first day I met Baynk was the day we wrote settle. As soon as I walked into the room I felt like he was family. I always enjoy those writing sessions the most because you feel comfortable enough to open up. The story behind the song was based on the in between before you’re with someone and after you’ve started seeing each other. That dreaded unknown and the confession that you do want it to move forward. BAYNK’s clean heart translates in his music and I’m so excited for us to do more together!”

The new single is a precursor to an upcoming EP from the NZ producer and a follow-up to a previous double A-side release “Be In Love” / “Years,” which dropped earlier this year. His first release since fall 2017’s debut Someone’s EP, the double A-side was released alongside an incredible video for “Be In Love,” which was co-directed by Spencer Graves whose credits include work with Kendrick Lamar and Lauv. See the videos’ premiere with Highsnobiety here and watch the visual here.

Summer 2018 saw BAYNK set out on a debut U.S. headline tour, selling out all four shows in NYC, Los Angeles, Washington DC and Denver. Prior to this was a *sold out* spring 2018 tour with Kasbo, which traversed 10 cities across N. America.

Born Jock Nowell-Usticke, BAYNK has seen a meteoric rise from sheer obscurity to the brink of breakout in just 2 years with releases amassing 50MM+ plays on Spotify to-date. Early singles like “About Me” and “Could You” began turning heads in 2016 with follow-up’s “What You Need” (featuring fellow NZ-native NÏKA) and “Poolside” further establishing BAYNK as a top new contender. Recent Someone’s EP singles “Come Home” (with Shallou) and “Want 2” further showcase BAYNK’s ability to span various styles while retaining the essence of hope and subtle melancholy that line the effortlessly smooth tracks.

“Come Home” is co-produced by Chicago-based artist Shallou and features his vocal work as well. The collaboration is a taste of BAYNK’s forthcoming debut EP, slated for a fall 2017 release. The track was also coupled with an official remix package of four new mixes from Billboard, Shisto, Hazey Eyes, and Cabu spanning various styles but all retaining the essence of hope and subtle melancholy that line the effortlessly smooth track.

Born Jock Nowell-Usticke, BAYNK has been on a fast rise over the last year with a string of singles which have amassed 18MM+ plays on Spotify to date. Early singles like “About Me” and “Could You” began turning heads in early 2016 and it’s been a whirlwind ever since with recent singles “What You Need”(featuring fellow NZ-native NÏKA) and “Poolside” further establishing BAYNK as a top new artist-to-watch in the upcoming producer game.

Shallou (real name Joe Boston) has ridden a similar wave of recent buzz driven by standout singles “Doubt” and “Begin (ft. Wales)” as well as his debut EP release earlier this year titled All Becomes Okay. A seasoned musician, producer, and vocalist, Shallou adds his signature beautiful and dark soundscapes to “Come Home,” an undeniable touch that has garnered 25MM+ Spotify streams and love from outlets such as The FADER and SPIN.

Of BAYNK’s out-of-nowhere break into the scene, Noisey describes, “the New Zealand kid puts a song up on Soundcloud in early 2015 while traveling around Europe. He loses his laptop, goes surfing for a week and returns to find the track going bonkers. Next he’s on the Laneway Festival line-up and getting emails from music industry people wanting to talk.”

With a structural pop sensibility that sets him on a level of his own, BAYNK’s releases have earned him early critical praise as well as support from major tastemaker YouTube channels such as Majestic Casual and Chill Nation and hitting #1 on Hype Machine. Known for his sensual textures and layered electronic arrangements, BAYNK has also released notable remixes for artists such as gnash “I hate u, I love u” as well as A R I Z O N A “I Was Wrong.”

To add to his fast-growing list of accolades, earlier this year BAYNK participated in a recent Nike collaboration on track “Find You” celebrating Nike’s ‘Air Max Day’ – check it out here.

With major festival plays under his belt such as Laneway Festival, Rhythm & Vines and Rhythm & Alps, as well as a 26-date support run with Matoma, BAYNK plans to bring energetic, live instrumental show to more audiences this year.

Today, New Zealand producer BAYNK and rising artist Shallou have released a brand new collaboration titled “Come Home.”

An effortlessly smooth track evoking a figurative float down a stream of brimming hope and subtle melancholy, “Come Home” finds BAYNK at his most sharply astute and confident to date. The track is co-produced by Chicago-based artist Shallou and features his silky smooth vocal work as well. The collaboration is an early taste of BAYNK’s forthcoming debut EP, slated for a fall 2017 release.

Born Jock Nowell-Usticke, BAYNK has been on a fast rise over the last year with a string of singles which have amassed 13MM+ plays on Spotify to date. Early singles like “About Me”and “Could You” began turning heads in early 2016 and it’s been a whirlwind ever since with recent singles “What You Need” (featuring fellow NZ-native NÏKA) and “Poolside” further establishing BAYNK as a top new artist-to-watch in the upcoming producer game.

Shallou (real name Joe Boston) has ridden a similar wave of recent buzz driven by standout singles “Doubt” and “Begin (ft.
