Jeremy Guindo AKA Bambounou, is one of only two Frenchmen to have worked with the legendary, but now defunct Berlin-based label 50 Weapons (run by Modeselektor).
The producer of over 7 EPs and 2 albums (2012’s ‘Orbiting‘ and 2015’s ‘Centrum‘, both on 50 Weapons), Bambounou rapidly announced himself as one of the major acts in the French, and European, house and techno scenes. His productions, widely inspired by the sounds emanating from Chicago, Detroit and London, have found favour with the globe’s more discerning selectors.
In March 2014, he released a remix EP of his latest cuts (‘Ignition/Take It Out On Me‘) featuring new versions from French Fries (Paris-based ClekClekBoomlabel’s bossman) and Laurent Garnier (the other Frenchman that used to be involved with 50 Weapons). He has also collaborated with French Fries on Jimmy Edgar’s Ultramajic to produce the hotter than hot ‘What’s Up Evan‘. With upcoming gigs at events like HYTE in Ibiza, and festivals including France’s Nuits Sonoros, Bambounou is set to take his stock even further this year.
Bambounou is set to release a new EP this Fall 2017. He will also wink back at Laurent Garnier with an exclusive remix soon to be released.
This summer, Bambounou will be making stops in the UK, France, Romania, Spain, Morocco, Belgium, including a debut at the acclaimed Freerotation Festival and a comeback in Australia after 3 years of hiatus.
Track him on Facebook.
On June 27th, Bambounou made a very special mix at Institut du Monde Arabe in Paris forCercle. The next day, he flew to Ibiza to join Steve Rachmad for a B2B, and opened the HYTEseries at Amnesia on the 29th. On the 30th, he was already flying to Switzerland for the launch of the 51st Montreux Jazz Festival. The week ended with a mix night at Shelter in Amsterdam. Bambounou came back to Ibiza on the 3rd July for a final Circoloco gig at DC10.
Last May Bambounou teamed up with François X for a two hours B2B at Les Nuits Sonores 2017. The mix of Bambounou’s Detroit influenced techno and François X’s hypnotic music was electric. Click here to see the full show captured by Arte Concert.
