Multi-platinum Artist Alan Walker Lays Foundation of His 4th Studio Album “WalkerWorld” In Form of First 10-track Installment, Announcement of Fortnite In-Game Amusement Park, Themed World Tour, Future Album Singles, and More

Artist: Alan Walker
Title: WalkerWorld
Label: MER Recordings

Download / Stream

The Norwegian superstar Alan Walker unveils the groundwork for his most meaningful and evolving project yet, “WalkerWorld.” The first installment includes 10 tracks, 5 of which are brand new, that bend sonic genres and truly take the listener to another realm. This is just the beginning because “WalkerWorld” doesn’t end with this round of tracks, though, as the album will continue to change its form and shape from now as new tracks will be released and added to the album’s tracklist each month, starting on Dec 07 with “Fire” with JVKE and YUQI (from (G)I-DLE) and then continuing throughout entire 2024. The project also signifies the announcement and first access to Alan Walker‘s in-game amusement park on Fortnite, of the same name, which will be fully launched on Dec 12. The park itself will be an iterative project with plenty of opportunity for interaction, so stay tuned for more details.

As for the “WalkerWorld” album itself, it’s clear from the opening notes of the welcome track and the 10-track playlist that the veteran producer has entered his next evolution. From recently released “Heart Over Mind” with Daya to productions like “Spectre 2.0” with Steve Aioki and Lonely Boys to “Endless Summer” with Zak Abel demonstrate his signature dance-pop style, while “Land of the Heroes” with Sophie Stray is an emotive electronica gem, while Alan‘s solo track “Darkride” closes out the album on a cinematic note that makes us ready for the next releases and additions to the “WalkerWorld” body of work.

And if all of this weren’t enough, Alan Walker is about to kick off his album-themed World tour on Nov 28 with a stream of sold-out 7 arena shows in China, making him the first DJ to sell out that many arenas in China at once, which further strengthens Walker‘s position as one of the world’s most recognizable artists.

“With immense excitement and pride, I am thrilled to announce the release of my fourth studio album, ‘Walkerworld.’ November 10th is a significant day in my career as it marks the unveiling of a new body of work that will resonate with listeners until late 2024. It also heralds the introduction of an innovative and immersive chapter in the World of Walker. Not too long ago, I sat in my childhood bedroom and dreamt of creating music that could touch people’s hearts and leave a lasting impact. I am incredibly grateful to continue this journey and step into this new phase with the support of an exceptional group of talented artists, creatives, and community. This release is a milestone for every individual who has joined me on this incredible ride over the past eight years. My hope is that the album brings a sense of happiness to all who listen to it.” – Alan Walker

Continuously delivering thumping beats and hypnotic records, 26-year-old Norwegian producer and DJ Alan Walker is truly a force to be reckoned with. With over 120 million followers across his social platforms, 9 billion YouTube views, and over 50 billion audio and video streams, the young artist from Bergen, Norway, is nowhere near kicking his feet up anytime soon. Alan Walker arrived on the music scene in late 2015 with his debut hit single “Faded,” garnering over 1.7 billion Spotify streams and a massive 3.5 billion YouTube video views. Being the 19th most-watched music video on YouTube, the single also left him with a BRIT Awards nomination for Song Of The Year, as well as a Norwegian Grammy win in the same category. After building a massive social following and releasing a string of successful singles like “Alone” and “Darkside,” collaborating with artists like Ava Max, Noah Cyrus, Sia, Bruno Mars, and Coldplay, the chart-topping debut album “Different World” arrived in late 2018 and is currently approaching 5 billion streams on Spotify alone. While holding a pristine track record, Alan has played over 700 headlining shows and festivals to date, including Coachella and Tomorrowland, in addition to selling out his worldwide arena tours, Aviation Tour, and Walkerverse Tour. In 2022 Alan released his third album, “Walkerverse Pt. I & II.”

Alan Walker‘s forthcoming WalkerWorld dates:

Nov 28 – Chengdu Magic Cube – Chengdu, China
Dec 02 – Bao An Arena – Shenzhen, China
Dec 05 – Mercedes-Benz Arena – Shanghai, China
Dec 08 – Wuhan Five Rings Sports Centre – Wuhan, China
Dec 09 – Lingnan Pearl Gymnasium – Foshan, China
Dec 10 – Expo-C3 Hall – Suzhou, China
Dec 14 – Cadillac Arena – Baijing, China

Coco Elise talk about their debut ep, making music on GarageBand, and more

by the partae October 31, 2022
written by the partae

Where are you currently based?

We are currently based in Boorloo, Perth,, chillin.

How did you first start playing music?

I was given a guitar as a child, then was spoken to by the musical gods and learned my one true calling was to play music and with this, I began to write music. And with that, here we are. Welcome.

What’s been happening recently?

Music-wise we’ve started to really get into it, we’ve got a lot of new tunes we’re really excited about! We’ve just been playing a lot of shows and feeling them lows. We’ve also been a bit sad, and that’s not all bad. It’s important to feel as sad as possible when writing music so emotion can be successfully portrayed.

What influenced the sound and songwriting for your new single ‘Wish you’d show’?

Mainly Mac de Marco and Kate Bollinger, with a dash of Vampire Weekend. Big fan of how they can make such stripped back music sound so good.

How did you go about writing Wish you’d show and what does this track mean to you?

This track and “Sun may shine” were kind of written at the same time, Harry came over and did some Saxophone overdubs on a beat I came up with while Isaiah was asleep on the couch. Our old bass player Dan came around after and tracked some fantastic bass bits after. It’s by far our favourite song at the moment, and it’s a classic little love song. There’s definitely heaps out there, but they always mean the most to whoever’s making them!

Your debut EP is on the way, please tell us about your journey with this EP:

This EP has a special place in my head as it’s been completely produced and mixed in my room on GarageBand. Starting out I didn’t have too much to work with and I feel like a nice unique sound has come out of the process. I’ve been sitting on these tracks for a while, and was pretty unsure how they’d be received. We’ve had some awesome support lately, and it feels really good to get them out.

What can we expect?

Life. Thrills. Freedom.

Where and when did you record/produce/master and who did you work with?

All tracks were mastered with Gareth Henderson (thanks Gareth), everything else was done with the band in my bedroom.

How did you approach the recording process?

I usually just play around on the guitar or a synth and see if anything nice comes out of that, that’s usually the first step. Then I sing over whatever I have, and build everything else from there. Every song’s a little different!

Who are you listening to at the moment?

A lot of Kate Bollinger, and a local resurfaced band Butter who are just amazing.

What do you like to do away from music?

Play with animals, change the world, and inspire the generation to come.

What’s planned for 2022 going into 2023?

We’re absolutely loving playing live gigs around town, so we’ll keep doing that! We love reworking the songs for live performances, keep its really fun for us and hopefully people who come see us as well. We’ve got another EP ready to go as well, stay tuned…

Favourite food and place to hangout?

We love getting burgers at Flipside in Freo, and see whatever is going on at Mojo’s. Perhaps even have a nice beverage, if we’re feeling crazy.

Awakenings announces ADE 2022 program, unveils no less than nine events with Charlotte de Witte, Carl Cox, Amelie Lens, and more

by the partae August 12, 2022
written by the partae

Awakenings makes a big splash for its 25th Anniversary, announcing no less than nine events during this year’s Amsterdam Dance Event. This year the iconic Gashouder in Amsterdam will once again be the backdrop for six ADE Awakenings events, and after a successful series of shows in 2021, the Ziggo Dome also joins the program for another three shows, of which the Friday event will be announced soon. With headliners like Amelie Lens, Joris Voorn, Carl Cox, Charlotte de Witte, and many more of the biggest names in the scene, Awakenings promises to be the highlight of an already unprecedented Amsterdam Dance Event.

Awakenings’ annual programming for ADE is known for impressive techno events, featuring the biggest names in the scene at iconic venues. Awakenings’ ADE Opening Night will take place on October 19 at Amsterdam’s Gashouder, the techno temple where it all began for Awakenings. The event will kick off a wild week of shows with Hector Oaks, Nina Kraviz and Cera Khin, as well as Drumcode Records boss Adam Beyer, ANNA, Pan-Pot, Richie Hawtin, Amoral, Kobosil, Joseph Capriati, Dave Clarke, and Speedy J. Besides the standout night programming, daytime events will be hosted on October 22 and 23 by none other than Spectrum’s labelboss Joris Voorn and Awakenings resident Amelie Lens, bringing names like Ben Klock b2b Marcel Dettmann, ONYVAA, 999999999, and Helena Hauff to complete the 2022 Gashouder line-up.

But that’s not all, as Awakenings will also be taking to Amsterdam’s Ziggo Dome for ADE’s biggest techno event. On Saturday, October 22, scene pioneer and Awesome Soundwaves co-owner Carl Cox will take over the Ziggo Dome during the day for ‘Carl Cox Invites’, where Reinier Zonneveld and KiNK, among others, will treat fans with astounding live performances. In the evening, techno queen Charlotte de Witte will take over the decks, bringing raw sound to the Ziggo Dome with her cohort of KNTXT label artists, including FJAAK, I Hate Models, and Indira Paganotto.

After a traditional Easter weekend filled with events, this year in both Spaarnwoude and the Gashouder, as well as a successful first edition of Awakenings Summer Festival, with three days of camping in Hilvarenbeek, the organisation is now preparing for an ADE like they have never done before. Tickets for all shows will be available starting today at 7pm CEST via www.awakenings.nl.
