Anahit Vardanyan Debuts ‘Avyun’ on Elektrons: A Mesmerizing Fusion of Tradition and Innovation

Elektrons proudly steps into its third release with a powerful new chapter, introducing its first signed artist, the extraordinary Anahit Vardanyan. A live performer and producer, Anahit makes her striking debut on Hannes Bieger’s label with the evocative Avyun EP. Her sound is a rich tapestry woven from diverse threads: classical music training, the vibrant pulse of the club scene, her Armenian roots, and her life in Hamburg. These elements blend seamlessly, reflecting Elektrons’ vision of music as a force that transcends the ordinary, deeply resonating with the mind and soul.

Anahit’s creative journey goes beyond the music itself. She poured her heart into every aspect of this release, even crafting the artwork. Two original paintings accompany the tracks, visually encapsulating the essence of each piece. This makes Avyun not just an auditory experience, but a deeply personal artistic statement. The title track, Avyun, is a sonic homage to her Armenian heritage—a fusion of passion, nostalgia, and a reawakening of ancestral memories. Traditional Armenian instruments like the duduk and dhol intertwine with pulsing low-end rhythms and shimmering synth layers, creating a vibrant, fresh energy on the dance floor. Anahit describes the track as “a celebration of the eternal bond between a people and their homeland,” and you can feel that connection in every beat.

The journey continues with Haratev, which translates to “Eternity” in Armenian. This track propels you forward with a driving rhythm, its piano-tinged intro and haunting melody steeped in both sorrow and hope. The interplay of minor chords and intricate drum patterns creates a soundscape that’s as emotionally complex as it is captivating. Anahit describes it as “a reminder that even in the midst of chaos, a perpetual light guides us toward hope and resilience.”

With Avyun, Anahit Vardanyan infuses Elektrons with a profound, emotive energy. Her debut is not just music; it’s a heartfelt narrative that is as moving as it is progressive. This release embodies the very essence of Hannes Bieger’s label, capturing the spirit of innovation and emotional depth that Elektrons champions.
