Groove City – D.I.S.C.O

Was there a part of you that was worried we’d forgotten how to club? That the time apart had damaged us socially  or made our once favoured, crowded night spots something to fear? Well Groove City have a plan. Their latest single D.I.S.C.O. takes us back to the basics of clubbing. The fundamentals of why we love being out. Whooshing into a phat disco beat with a little french electro influence and some solid gold guitar, the opening lyrics “When did you realise this is the best night of your life? It’s taken me a little longer than I expected.” Set the tone immediately. Reminding us that all of our experiences re-socialising and partying are going to be different. Perhaps this summer will feel like a relief to you, others may be more reluctant but we all have to go at our own pace. Ultimately music is there to make us feel good. Groove City make feel good music as easily as they walk and breath. Honestly though, I’m not sure that they walk anywhere without a strut. The synth topline that comes in during the second chorus reminds us of vintage disco electro acts Space or Yellow Magic Orchestra. The victory lap has awesome adlibs from guest vocalist Ella Keysel who adds a deep femininity to the sound. An absolute celebration of nightlife D.I.S.C.O. reminds us that whenever we’re ready to lose our shit on the dancefloor again, the club will be waiting for us.

Nothing like spending a Tuesday night going to a live gig. To a warm reception, Sydney singer/songwriter Cap Carter opened the evening. An artist who wears his heart in his songs, he sang with such passion and intensity belting out tracks like ‘Relapse’ and ‘Guns’. This is one artist worth seeing.

The full house cheered Teddy Swim’s entrance to audio quotes mentioning his meteoric rise to popularity thanks to YouTube. Casually dressed in a hoodie and sans shoes, he effortlessly delivered a eclectic mix of music, such as the pop infused ‘All That Really Matters’, the dance track ‘Better’ to his famous cover of Shania Twain’s ‘You still the One’ backed by his stellar band. His huge vocal prowess and musical versatility won the crowd over.

Teddy was  incredibly humble and appreciative of his rapid rise to fame, numerous times expressing his gratitude to his fans. Somehow, I think this is just the beginning of much bigger things to come.

Today Arno Faraji is elated to announce the release of his debut mixtape, RETURN TO RAJI, out this November 18 via The Orchard, alongside his new single ‘Black Sunday‘. LISTEN HERE.

‘Black Sunday‘ is Faraji’s most revealing work yet, lyrically musing on family, risk and the pay-off of sacrifice. Giving thanks to his parents for the opportunities that have landed from their cross-continental migration, ‘Black Sunday‘ is a compelling recount of the ongoing considerations emigrants face. Here Arno‘s stakes recall Ye’s ‘Hey Mama’, reflecting on “rewriting pasts” against shiny horns and a rolling piano-led beat.

In his own words, Arno shares, “Black Sunday is a track that had me reflecting and thinking about identity, specifically how I came to be. Within that reflection, I also thought about ‘placement’, I thought about growing up out here in Australia with my native cultural context, getting into music and art as more than a hobby and feeling the pressures of how that’s looked at in some POC migrant families.

There’s this pressure on traditional academia and getting into good schools to have traditionally good jobs and get good money which is meant to translate to better lives and more generational wealth, which is actually a dope end goal, but I feel like the view of the road to get there is so strict and folks feel like you can only get there or achieve a better life only by those means. If what you want to do aligns with the traditional version of ‘good’ the plan is pretty sound, it’s safe and has been proven to work, but it’s more of a tug when the things you want to pursue and what drives you doesn’t align with that and is seen as riskier. Coming out of school I almost conformed to the traditional route due to my fear of the unknown and things not working out, as a result I almost didn’t get to do a lot of the things I’m grateful to be doing now.”

With Arno‘s highly anticipated debut mixtape due to arrive on November 18, including the previously released ‘Gravity‘ and ‘On The Move‘, his debut project will relay his own life experiences against the pursuit of music. With a core focus on the joy that comes from the hustle paying off, doubt in the face of momentum and the questions of ‘will I’ or ‘won’t I’ make it, RETURN TO RAJI is a vibrant display of Arno‘s most creatively fulfilling, colourful and experimental work ever.

Speaking to his debut mixtape, Arno shares “Return to Raji is a collection of tracks coming from the vault that also act as a window into my life/perspectives I’ve had over the past few years. These track’s meanings and importance to me only grew more over the span of their creation. This tape helped remind me of a few things, exisiting just before the pandemic, through the effects of a few huge lifestyle changes and even now as I guess we’re all trying to make a new version of normalcy. It had me relearning things I kinda forgot about myself.”

His return earlier this year was embraced by triple j, NME, Acclaim, Pilerats, Sniffers, RAGE‘s Wild One, MTV, AUD$, Purple Sneakers, SYN and more who praised his “reputable brand of free-flowing, quick witted hip-hop music” (Purple Sneakers) highly, hoisting his ability to balance “classic hip-hop and funk influences” (NME) in a “distinctive Arno way” (Pilerats).

Australian punk royalty These New South Whales today announce their third album, TNSW, out November 18 via Damaged Records. With the news, the band share their latest single, the existential anthem ‘Rotten Sun‘. LISTEN + WATCH HERE.

TNSW marks a refined new era for the band and is comfortably their most sophisticated body of work yet: a 14-track tome of barrelling punk rock that polishes its heavier moments – heavier than ever – with sing-along choruses, sharp arrangements, and plenty of trademark irony and self-awareness. For every ’90s alternative reference, there’s a blast beat; for every big radio moment, a cursed instrumental aside. It’s the same impeccable sleight of hand we’ve come to expect from the band – a throughline, also, for their hit Comedy Central TV show and exalted podcast, What a Great Punk.

But on TNSW, the songwriting has found another gear, and the energy and defiance that got them here are more pronounced than ever.

Their latest single, ‘Rotten Sun‘ is inspired by the Ross J. Farrar (Ceremony) poem of the same name, a ready-made anthem that laments the impermanence of all things. “I can’t read Ross’s poem without crying,” said frontman Jamie Timony, “so I wanted to regurgitate it in my own way with these lyrics. The sun is slowly eating us all. Everything goes back to the great nothingness from whence it came. And there’s peace in that if we choose.”

Following their first new music this year, ‘Bending at the Knee‘, ‘Rotten Sun‘ contains traces of Amyl and The Sniffers, Fontaines D.C. and Parquet Courts, with shades of Placebo – a foundational influence – coming through in an imperious guitar riff that forms the backbone of the song.

Directed by Oscar O’Shea, the visionary behind the band’s excellent ‘Bending at the Knee‘ clip, the ‘Rotten Sun‘ video comprises three distinct one-take scenes stitched together into a  short film that leans heavily on religious tropes, opening on frontman Jamie Timony wrapped in a black-headed python in an orchard.

Engineered by Sam Johnson, TNSW is the band’s most sophisticated, philosophical work yet, confirming them as a once-in-a-generation Australian punk proposition. It is not an album that attempts to transcend the punk genre, but one that looks to lift it to its highest form.

Joji Malani (Broth Records) today previews the latest cut from his solo project Pei’s [pron. ‘pay’], debut album, with his new single ‘Count To 10‘. LISTEN HERE + WATCH HERE.

Featuring Hannah Joy from Middle Kids on backing vocals, ‘Count To 10‘ follows a jovial bass-led skiffle with production that reflects Joji’s contemporary musical influences. Finding a kindred creative spirit in co-producer Tim Fitz also of Middle Kids, his relationship with Malani stretches back to childhood, including a performance at Tim and Hannah’s wedding. Connecting almost instantly with a shared upbringing – Tim’s first decade of life spent in Papua New Guinea and Joji born and raised in Fiji – together they built their mutual love for music into adulthood as friends and collaborators. It’s this that Joji credits with ‘Count To 10‘s existence.

“I love talking about this song because it’s a great example of what a good producer does,” Joji explains. “Tim listens to the whole album and he’s like, “There’s something missing both sonically and in terms of your identity,” I was like, “What the hell are you talking about?” He’s like, “Mate, who’s your favourite artist?” and I said some modern favourites. There was nothing that sat in the realm of people I admire and respect. There was nothing that had that chill, soul vibe. He was right, but I couldn’t hear anything. He picked the tempo, played the beat and I laid down the bassline. It showed that he cared. He saw something in me that I didn’t see in myself.”

This sentiment extends to the music video, where Joji continues “I wanted to film a video for Count To 10 that really highlights where I grew up. As a kid moving from Fiji to the Hills District of Sydney, my family and I had this hope that we were entering into the ‘promised land’ of opportunities. As great as the move was in a lot of ways, the hills also facilitated a lot of hardship for us. It was really cool to film the video in my hometown representing 2156 / 2155 as it’s been a huge part of my story and has shaped a lot of who I am. It’s west but it ain’t western Sydney, but this place is me!” 

‘Count To 10‘ is Malani’s latest preview of his rich creative world as Pei, following the recently released ‘Themesong‘ and ‘Honest‘, each embraced across NME, Clash, triple j, Unearthed, Rolling Stone, The Australian, Pilerats, Music Feeds and more. Inspired to express himself narratively and lyrically in ways unlike ever before, Pei’s Pageant is a dialogue with Malani’s cultural and creative identities, propelling his craft through his Fijian identity – one that many have yet to meet. In that way, Pei is Malani’s homecoming. Threading the naivety of infancy with a palpable humility in starting from scratch, Pei’s debut is a gratifying listen in watching someone experience their firsts, for a second time.

Due this October 10 via Broth Records – home to recent impressive debuts from Coconut Cream, Meteor Infant, Morgues, Angeles, Alex Rzyan and more – Pei’s Pageant freely explores a variety of sonic influences from bright, rich production; orchestration that can swing between the exuberant and borderline ambient and country balladry and at the core, there is Pei’s vocals – heartfelt, direct and confident. Where are you currently based?

I’m in Montréal, Canada!

How did you first start playing music?

I started playing the piano in high school. I was taught the four basic pop chords by one of my high school friends, continued to teach myself and the rest was history. 

I’ve been singing since I was in diapers, singing the Caillou theme song on repeat. 

What’s been happening recently?

I’ve been working on my debut EP, in and out of the studio with my producer Johan 

Maestro. I’ve also been getting some shows ready. I cannot wait to show you all what I’ve been working on.

Your latest single is out now, what influenced the sound and songwriting?

One of my siblings inspired the song actually. They had been going through some hard times and I wanted to help. The song talks about being there for someone you love so much and the extent of how far that love can take you. For the sound I wanted something big, I wanted an anthem-like feel to really rally the fact that this song can take you out of any “Hurricane”.

How did you go about writing Hurricane?

I actually wrote it on zoom during the pandemic, with three collaborators. QSTNMRKS (producer duo) who were in Holland working on the music, while I came up with Melodies and wrote the lyrics with my friend Begonia (artist). The song wrote itself, in under an hour.

Where and when did you record/produce/master and who did you work with?

We recorded, produced and mastered the song in July of 2022. Johan Maestro produced and mixed “Hurricane”. He is also working on my EP that will be released before the end of the year. 

How did you approach the recording process?

I approached the recording by getting in my zone and really connecting to the song. I had the person the song was dedicated to in my mind, the whole time.

What does this single mean to you?

It means the most. I honestly feel like this song sums up the person I am and the distances I’ll go for the ones I love. I really feel like this song sets the tone for the rest to come. I’m really proud of this single.

Who are you listening to at the moment?

I’d have to say Lisa LeBlanc and Coldplay!

What do you like to do away from music?

Away from music you can either catch me cooking up a storm in the kitchen or going out to dance with some friends. If not, weekend breakfast out at restaurants is one of my favourite things to do. 

What’s planned for the remainder of 2022 going into 2023?

The release of my first EP and some new shows are set for 2022! I can’t wait!

Favourite food and place to hangout?

Poutine Déjeuner from Cochon Dingue, and I love to hangout by the water.

Ocean Alley announce upcoming fourth album ‘Low Altitude Living’

Beloved Australian rock outfit Ocean Alley have announced their upcoming fourth album Low Altitude Living, to be released independently on October 14. The news comes paired with their latest single ‘Home’, a profession of love for both people and place.

Opening the record with a feeling of warmth and familiarity, ‘Home’ is soaked with bright tones and subtly adorned with twinkling keys. The song is a product of the band’s opportunity to slow down in 2020, with space to reconnect with themselves and the environment around them. Guitarist Mitch Galbraith explains “We’ve felt more connected than ever to the people and places that are around us at home. Normally, we’d be spending most of our year away on tour but we felt very lucky to spend the last two years with the people we love.”  The accompanying video was shot all the way from Melbourne to Broken Hill and directed by W.A.M. Bleakley (Courtney Barnett, The Middle Kids, DMA’s) who also worked on their previous release ‘Deepest Darkness‘.

While the six-piece could have rinsed and repeated the styles and sounds of their previous full-lengths – the ARIA-nominated Lonely Diamond (2020), their Gold-certified breakthrough Chiaroscuro (2018), and self-assured debut Lost Tropics (2016) – Low Altitude Living, produced by longtime collaborator Callum Howell, sees the band construct their broadest ranging sonic framework yet. As suggested by the diverse feels of previous singles ‘Touch Back Down’ and ‘Deepest Darkness’, Ocean Alley cohesively honour the traditional features of their distinct sound, and equally give it a refreshing and exciting new edge. Mitch shares “It’s no secret that we don’t want to repeat ourselves… there’s a constant sense of betterment, growth and exploration.”

Where in the past, Ocean Alley have cited the influence of 70s stalwarts such as Pink Floyd and Led Zeppelin, this new album sees the band explore their musicality through pure instinct. They experiment with sludgey ‘90s alt-rock on the reverb-laden ‘Changes’, they bring a side of bluesy slide guitar akin to the Commodores on cruisey ballad ‘Snake Eyes’, while the haunted and sensual ‘Parking Fines’ would slot right into an Interpol record. Lach Galbraith (keys/vocals) shares “Pushing each other to try new things, inside and outside of music, is really important for us to keep things fresh. Musically our songwriting has become more intricate as we explore new styles and techniques in recording.”

2022 has seen Ocean Alley perform 62 shows around the world, with a huge run of international headline dates and local festival performances to come, namely Falls Festival, Lost Paradise and Heaps Good Fest. Earlier in the year, their Australian tour sold more than 35,000 tickets, followed up with extensive stints across the UK, New Zealand, Europe and North America where they have sold a cumulative 40,000 tickets – including London’s iconic Roundhouse, Toronto’s Opera House, Spark Arena in Auckland and Amsterdam’s Paradiso.

Despite major festival billing across the likes of Reading & Leeds (UK), Splendour In The Grass (AUS) and Sziget (HU); Double Platinum certification on their smash single ‘Confidence’, Gold certification on five singles and two ARIA Awards nominations – it feels like Ocean Alley are just getting started. With 550 million catalogue streams under their belt and counting, they know who they are, and remain true to what serves them. As frontman Baden Donegal explains, “Low altitude, being by the beach is where we all have the most peace. So naming the album ‘Low Altitude Living’ made a lot of sense. The title of the album doesn’t necessarily represent any one song in particular, or tie them all together. But it does tie our band to the music. I feel like it’s more of a title that describes why we sound like Ocean Alley.”

Melbourne’s alt metal titans Circles deliver the pinnacle of Australian progressive metal with their new single ‘Dig’. Illustrating this next chapter via Wild Thing Records on September 14, they are also announcing and starting pre-orders for their long-awaited EP – ‘The Stories We Are Afraid Of | Vol. 1’.

‘The Stories We Are Afraid Of | Vol. 1’ is the first instalment of an epic two-part EP, following Circles sophomore record, ‘The Last One’, which garnered international recognition and domestic success (#4 TheMusic’s Album of the Year 2018, #3 AIR Independent Albums). The progressive giants continue to lead the path of the international djent movement with their upcoming release, furthering the incorporation of shimmering wavering pads, belting breakdowns and propelling percussion.

The next instalment of ‘The Stories We Are Afraid Of’ continues on where ‘Sleepwalking’ left off, portraying the process of piecing together existentialism and identity to rekindle a strong connection with oneself, which had previously dwindled to a flicker. ‘Sleepwalking’ encompasses the realisation of the cathartic state and ‘Dig’ marks the first steps towards change, leaving four more tracks to shape the meaning of the EP. Frontman Ben Rechter states:

“The overarching theme of Vol.1 is one of a loss of identity and purpose, and trying to recapture a sense of wonder and passion for life that was once a core part of you. Musically, we went into these writing sessions with a focus on being more direct than on previous albums, steering away from crowding songs with heaps of different riffs for the sake of having more riffs that we personally like in there.”

Breaking through the glass cage of locked-down Melbourne, Circles continue their push into a new era, with their dynamic driving single ‘Dig’. Delegating their energy into their return, Circles follow up on their latest single, ‘Sleepwalking‘, and an Australian tour presented by Destroy All Lines and Wild Thing Presents. Shining through the sandstorm of modern metal, ‘Dig’ delivers dreamy delayed guitars, dynamic ancillary percussion and a massive metal spine built on the imperishableness of Rechter’s lead vocals. The culmination of powerful breakdowns, serrated guitar riffs and surreal pads leaves you choking on every breath before the final breakdown–the apex of ‘Dig’.

‘Sleepwalking’ narrated the feelings of regret and hopelessness in time wasted, unable to action the changes to move out of the negative-feedback loop towards what you’re searching for. ‘Dig’ marks the first steps taken to enforce this change in your life. Instead of living in the hole of complacency and familiar surroundings, ‘Dig’ is about battling the mind to muster up the strength and rise through the grit of one’s metaphorical grave, even if this is only finding motivation to leave the house.

Rechter speaks on the theme behind ‘Dig‘:
“This is all about those first steps out of that dark hole. Your mind fights against you, and everything feels like it’s not going to work, but it’s not necessarily about success, at least not in the beginning. It’s about starting to change what you need to change, even if on the first day, all you can do is make sure you step outside and see the sun.”

‘Dig‘ was mastered by Luke Cinacotta (Karnivool) and mixed and produced by Circle’s own Ted Furuhashi, showcasing his prior experience on Twelve Foot Ninja’s debut album – Silent Machine.

Today, Melbourne alternative hip hop collective FREAKCLUB drop their new single Gobstopper. To celebrate, the group have also announced The Gobstopper Release Party, to take place in Melbourne this October, details below.

Of the new single FREAKCLUB states, “Gobstopper was one of those songs that we just had to make. We were fuelled by a lot of the hunger, angst and uncertainty that comes from trying to make it in music. It was those years of almost opportunities, broken promises and “We’ll keep an eye on what you’re doing”s that inspired us to make this song. There’s no hidden meaning or secret feeling, we really let this song speak for itself. From the grungy-punk inspired vocals to the screeching guitar solo, this song is very much just us being us, and hoping to inspire people to do the same.”

LOWLIFE SHARE NEW TRACK ‘ELON’

Rowdy Essex trio, LOWLIFE, have released a brand-new track and music video titled “ELON” today via Hellcat Records.  Their 2020 debut track “WASTELAND” has over 500,000 streams and their last single “FRIENDS” dropped in 2021 and brought together their eclectic musical influences.

“ELON” fits right in, sonically referencing 2000’s hip-hop with production reminiscent of Timbaland, inspired by the youthful energy and bombastic rhymes of the Beastie Boys. The accompanying music video visually cites Y2K and classic West Coast symbolism which the group conceived and executed all on their own.

About the track the band states,
“ELON is about drive/willpower; being on a ride and not knowing for sure what the outcome will bring yet still pursuing the adventure. The song being called ‘Elon’ is a reference to Musk and his innovative ideas, despite disbelief from many.

This also holds true as an artist, following a vision and pathway whilst many may question it until they see the end product. The lyrics play amongst this reference whilst also capturing the naivety of youth with lines such as, ‘Wait a minute near sleepless, self-drive strike genius, thank Elon – convenience’.”

LOWLIFE is comprised of Liam Haygarth, Harry Todd and Jordan Cardy.

Cardy earned early acclaim under his RAT BOY alter ego, but he couldn’t have done it without his bandmates Liam Haygarth and Harry Todd. LOWLIFE gave them a fresh chance to be officially equal, especially after Tim Armstrong of Rancid renown recruited them for his Hellcat label.

Possessing a symbiotic relationship and hindered by their erratic ADHD outbursts, Essex newcomers LOWLIFE deter most music industry interest. While they’re barely able to look after themselves, nothing is going to get in the way of making themselves heard. LOWLIFE write, produce and mix entirely independently.

The project commenced at the height of the first wave of lockdown, with the three members collaborating via Zoom. Since reuniting in person, they’ve spent the majority of their time writing and recording together. That self-determined DIY spirit informs all aspects of their creative process. They pool their skills to make the most of their scant resources, filming music videos, designing artwork and producing merch on a limited budget without compromising on the quality of their output. They’re now undeniably ready to deliver a new wave of unique music.

Where are you currently based?

London

How did you first start playing music?

I was lucky enough to grow up in a very musical family, with my Grandmother being an incredible singer and pianist and my mum also being very talented at the piano. I always felt so free and joyful singing and my mum was the one to really build my confidence. Writing was an instinctual part of me, where I really got a lot of joy from writing poems and stories so the two naturally intertwined as I got into my teens.

What’s been happening recently?

2020 and 2021 saw me back home in Nelson with my mum and sister Clare. It was there, I really found myself in a new way which started to really show itself in the music I was writing. Then as New Zealand opened up, I found my now manager Jeffrey Figueroa and we’ve been working very hard bringing this vision to life. Lots of writing sessions and living life!

Your latest single ‘Teenage Renegade’ is out now, what influenced the sound and songwriting?

I have always deeply connected to the likes of Kate Bush, Stevie Nicks, Tears For Fears etc, music that really moves you and takes you to another world where you feel free. Lyrically, I really get inspired by words that connect to a deeper part of myself. I often go through times of feeling pretty anxious and overwhelmed so I wanted to write an ode to that inner wild child inside all of us, and that really came out when we were writing Teenage Renegade.

You’re in Australia to support Teenage Renegade, how does it feel to be back?

YES! It feels INCREDIBLE to be back. I feel so much support and love here and the whole atmosphere is incredibly welcoming.

Who did you work with during the creation of Teenage Renegade?

I worked with the incredible Tyler Spry and Areli Castro.

Where and when did you record/produce/master?

I wrote ‘Teenage Renegade’ over zoom in January of 2022 from my house in London!

How did you approach the recording process?

I actually got the train down to a beautiful seaside village in Deal, UK and recorded vocals in my air bnb. It was an incredibly peaceful and calm way to approach this and really allowed me to capture the right emotion I was after for Teenage Renegade.

What do you have planned for the remainder of 2022 going into 2023?

We’ve got the next single all lined up and ready to go and I’m so incredibly excited. The EP is just about ready and I couldn’t be more excited to start getting the live shows ready for you!

Do you have an EP in the pipeline?

Definitely! It’s nearly finished!

What inspires you and what is it like being an independent artist coming off the success from your last album?

Life inspires me! Truly living and riding the waves of life. The highs and lows can be scary and hard to accept but Teenage Renegade is my reminder that I can survive it all.

The most important thing, independent or signed is that you’re able to really write the music that you want to write. I’ve found being independent has allowed Jeff, my manager and I to really hone in on the vision. Everything you’re seeing is all us.

Your hit single Nothing to Regret was certified double-platinum in Australia and has reached over 120M streams, what do you attribute to this massive achievement?

AHhhh that still blows my mind! Thankyou listeners hehe. I think people really connected to the message.

Sometimes we are made to feel like we need so much to be happy when really all we need are our friends, family and to feel free from pressure for a moment. Nothing To Regret is the ode for letting go of the worry and fear.

Who are you listening to at the moment?

I’m loving a lot of Wolf Alice, The Cure, Miley Cyrus, Kate Bush, Stevie Nicks and Tears For Fears.

What do you like to do away from music?

That is a great question! I’ve taken a strong liking to cooking recently which is surprising to even me. I think there’s a real therapy to creating your own version of flavours. I also love being amongst of nature and the comforts of my own home hahaha, and then the other side of me loves a good time out dancing the night away.

Favourite food and place to hang out when you are in Australia?

Ohhhh! Australia has so many incredible places to go and see. I really love Icebergs in Bondi, I think the view of the ocean is so stunning.

Where are you currently based?

We both live in LA. But seems like we haven’t spent much time here recently.

How did you first start playing music?

I sort of played random instruments here and there growing up. When I was super young the first thing I started was piano with my grandpa.

Then I randomly took a few drum lessons a couple years after that. Then there was moments of guitar, but that would come and go for a few more years.

I never really stuck with one instrument and I think that’s why I like producing.

What’s been happening recently?

I’ve been spending some time in the studio while we’re on a little break from touring. I just bought some new headphones for the flights 🙂 Been taking care of my dragon Spark too.

Your latest single ‘Malibu’ is out now, what influenced the sound and songwriting?

When we showed up to the studio that day everyone had just come from Malibu the day before so it seemed like a good start to a song.

What does Malibu mean to you?

Beach, Rum, Water, Sun

Pretty good version of paradise to me.

You have a new album, please tell us how this came about and what were the influences:

We’re constantly making music so this is just a taste of what’s on our hard drive.

On this Mixtape there’s Dance influence, R&B, Pop, 80s, Funk, and ross likes to say Bedroom Thrash.

Where and when did you record/produce/master and who did you work with?

Most of the album was recorded in our studio in LA.

Most tracks are written, produced and mixed by Ross and I.

Malibu we did with a friend named Griff.

And Keep Moving Forward Nikka add some nice melodies to 🙂

What do you have planned for this latest album, I see you are currently touring globally… 

Yea we got a good amount of touring going on for the next couple months.

We just got the first cut of the video for a song called Fantasy.

Maybe 1 more video for another song soon too.

What can we expect from your upcoming Australian shows?

Good vibes, some cool lights, and us 🙂

There’s this new restaurant called Taisho that’s pretty good. Got nice sake and Sea Bass. Good hang at the bar too.

FALLS 2022/2023: Falls VIC moves to Downtown Melbourne

As we edge closer to Summer good times, Falls is back with important updates for the 2022/23 event that will see Arctic Monkeys, Lil Nas X, Peggy Gou, CHVRCHES, Jamie xx and so many others hit stages across VIC, NSW and WA.

Falls’ VIC event is set to relocate to Melbourne for the first time. Falls Downtown Melbourne will now take place at Sidney Myer Music Bowl and surrounds across the same dates 29, 30 and 31 December.

Colac Shire Otway Council approved the planning permit on 30 June for Falls VIC to be held at a new location at Birregurra, but while the planning permit was approved with council, along with support from the local MP and the broader community an application by a small group of locals was made to the Victorian Civil and Administrative Tribunal (VCAT) appealing this decision and a hearing date set for February/March 2023, after the event was meant to take place.

Falls Co-Producer Jessica Ducrou said: “Thanks so much for all the support from stakeholders, the venue, artists, all who contribute to Falls and especially our patrons. We’re thrilled that the show will go on at Sidney Myer Music Bowl, ringing in the new year in Downtown Melbourne!”

Falls Downtown Melbourne will feature the full line-up of acts already announced, across two stages in an inner city setting, with all the convenience that provides plus Club Falls, Rancho Relaxo, multiple bars and food trucks and much more! Bring in the 2023 New Year with your crew, as we rediscover the joy of celebrating this milestone together.

Ticket holders who are not able to attend the new venue in Melbourne will be able to apply for a refund from 12pm AEST today until 5pm AEDT Thursday 13 October. All Camping tickets will be automatically refunded from Thursday 29 September 2022. Moshtix will be in touch with all account holders directly with more information, including how to exchange your Birregurra tickets to the Byron event if you would like the full camping festival experience. Please note that refunds or exchanges need to be requested by the purchaser i.e. if a mate purchased your ticket for you, they will also need to request your refund for you.
