SEASON 1 OVERVIEW

1. I Bet They Can’t Do It Live:
The band drifts from 10-year-old hyper-local Warrandyte soul band to sought-after buzz act by record labels around the world. They’ve got a debut album but no experience in the industry, no manager, no booking agent and the attention is building.

2. There Were Loads of Hurdles:
The band enter the throes of recording Run Home Slow in under 3 weeks with international producer Paul Butler. But from day one they’re on the ropes. Their performance has been the band’s backbone but in the studio they can’t play the songs. Even if they could play them the studio tape recorder’s broken. They’re losing precious days.

3. We Used Every Waking Hour:
The tension ratchets up amid band squabbles, personal life issues, painstaking analogue recording techniques and a looming deadline. There’s horns, strings, backing vocals and more that get cut from the studio sessions. Frustrations are building and someone is sent home.

4. Silence… But Everyone Was Yelling:
Mixing the album happens between Melbourne and Los Angeles, while mental health issues take their toll as the walls close in. At the start of 2019, the band and management don’t know exactly how they’re going to finish the album.

5. Conga Lines Out Into The Street:
The first single is ready to go then the Australian label Ivy League suggests a change.
Singles two and three come out while the band is in the US then the UK respectively, without Brendon. They’re booked to play youth festival Splendour in the Grass and there’s one plane that can get the band home.

6. And That’s What Happened With The Teskey Brothers:
Not just the album, released on 2 August 2019, but the Colors Session recorded in Germany too sends a Teskey wave around the world.
The band is booked to support Tash Sultana through the US before the Australian album tour at the biggest home-country venues they’ve ever played.
And the awards show they’ve watched since they were kids, the ARIAs, announces the 2019 nominations.
