Wishy Get Lost in the Madness With New Single Sensational

by the partae

Wishy have shared Sensational, the latest glimpse into their forthcoming second album Nature’s Pill, due 2 October via Winspear.

The Indianapolis five piece have been steadily building anticipation around the record, and Sensational takes the band somewhere slightly different from the infectious guitar pop of previous singles Lovesick and All The Rage.

The track began with singer and guitarist Kevin Krauter experimenting with drum loops before bassist Mitch Collins brought in the bassline that became a key part of the song. From there, Wishy turned the idea into something that sits somewhere between sugary grunge, dream pop and the band’s unmistakable melodic instincts.

There is an immediate sense of movement to Sensational. The guitars feel bright and slightly unruly, while the rhythm section gives the song a propulsive quality that keeps pushing it forward.

Lyrically, the track captures one of the central ideas running through Nature’s Pill. Wishy are interested in the highs, frustrations, romantic confusion and general absurdity of being alive, but rather than getting buried in the darker moments, they find humour and freedom in them.

The song’s chorus turns that perspective into a kind of pep talk. Life can be chaotic and relationships can be complicated, but there is still something exciting about having the freedom to decide what comes next.

That outlook fits neatly with the wider world of Nature’s Pill. The album explores romantic frustration, desire, loneliness and emotional melodrama, but Wishy approach those themes through fictional and exaggerated perspectives rather than straightforward confession.

The new single also arrives with an appropriately unconventional video. Directed and animated by Jess Dunn, the visual was created using around 3,000 paper cut outs of the band, giving Sensational an entirely handmade feel that matches Wishy’s playful approach.

Natures Pill follows Wishy’s acclaimed 2024 debut Triple Seven and their 2025 Planet Popstar EP. The new record was written more collaboratively than their previous material, with the band reuniting with Triple Seven producer Ben Lumsdaine in Los Angeles and recording half of the album live together in a small studio.

That process allowed the five piece to push further into their influences, bringing together the dream pop and alternative rock of their earlier work with elements of 1980s college rock and 2000s indie.

There is also plenty of momentum behind the band outside the studio. Wishy have been touring heavily, including dates with The Beths and Beach Bunny, and have announced further US headline shows across the West Coast, East Coast and Midwest.

With Sensational, Wishy continue to prove they can take familiar indie rock ingredients and make them feel fresh, colourful and slightly unpredictable.

Natures Pill arrives 2 October 2026 via Winspear.
