Ocean Sleeper ripped into 2026 as a band transformed – sharper, heavier, and more emotionally resonant than ever before. This year is proving to be their most ambitious and exciting yet, with fans treated to three explosive, defiant, and powerful singles: ‘Break The Cycle’, ‘Peace When I’m Dead’ and ‘My Forever Drug’.
Across those three singles, the band have gained serious traction both at home and abroad. Locally, support has poured in from triple j, Blunt Magazine, Roguenjosh, and Heavy Mag, while at US radio ‘Break The Cycle’ landed as the 17th most played song on SiriusXM Liquid Metal. Globally, the band have racked up hundreds of thousands of streams across DSPs, backed by playlist additions from All New Rock (FR), The Core (US), All New Metal (US), Hard Rock (US), and Rock Out (AU) – plus a cover feature on Homegrown (Spotify), a spot on Apple’s global New Music Daily, and multiple placements on Spotify’s global New Music Fridays.
Capturing the weight of grief, guilt, and regret, Peace When I’m Dead showcases Ocean Sleeper’s ability to vulnerably explore the darker corners of the human experience, confronting inner turmoil, depression, and profound emotional lows head-on. In acknowledging, expressing, and releasing these deeply felt emotions, the album channels a rare sense of catharsis and connection.
“This band has never been afraid to dive into the darker parts of our lives, and this album is no exception,” says Karl Spiessl, lead vocalist. “At its core, the record explores the ongoing battle we have with ourselves – that constant inner struggle that can feel endless. It’s about coming to terms with the idea that this conflict may always be part of the human experience, and learning to accept that reality.”
September will see Ocean Sleeper embark on their most ambitious tour yet: the Peace When I’m Dead Tour, presented by New World Artists and Fireball AU. Marked as their biggest national headline run to date, the tour kicks off at Liberty Hall in Sydney on Friday 4th September, hits The Princess Theatre in Brisbane on Saturday 5th (SOLD OUT), Magnet House in Perth on Thursday 10th, Hindley St Music Hall in Adelaide on Friday 11th, and closes with a massive home-state show at the Forum in Melbourne on Saturday 12th September. With Brisbane already sold out, remaining tickets for the other dates are moving fast. Grab yours HERE.
The Peace When I’m Dead Tour is just one chapter in a mammoth global run that will see Ocean Sleeper play 82 shows between now and February 2027. June and July bring support dates with Nevertel and the band’s first-ever headline shows across the UK and Europe, followed by the Australian Peace When I’m Dead Tour in September. From there, Ocean Sleeper return to the US with Nevertel, join Parkway Drive’s Hellbound Cruise in October, and kick off 2027 supporting Catch Your Breath throughout Europe and the UK.
