Title: Upside ft. Ben Samama
Label: Seeking Blue
PLS&TY continues his hot streak of releases with his newest release – “Upside,” featuring LA-based Grammy nominated singer/songwriter Ben Samama. The record is the latest from his forthcoming “3 Days, 2 Nights” EP, which PLS&TY has been teasing since March this year, and follows in the footsteps of its predecessor “Yours” with a more underground and dancefloor-oriented “night side” approach. With euphonious melodies and a rolling, deep bassline, “Upside” creates a darkly danceable vibe while the catchy vocals keep things playful and energetic. PLS&TY has excelled at producing tracks with different sonic styles on the EP that simultaneously complement each other, as we saw with the more organic sounds of “Party In My Head” with Lost Boy and “New Color” earlier this year. With so much anticipation building for the full release of “3 Days, 2 Nights” EP, the drop can’t come soon enough. Stay tuned for more information and new music.
Tommy Leas, a Florida native – better known as PLS&TY – is burgeoning into the electronic dance music scene with his unique sound: languid bass, captivating vocals, and enough upbeat melodies to make anybody feel good. His music has amassed over 100 million streams across platforms – that’s if you don’t include a feature in a Hershey’s chocolate television commercial that has now reached over 1 billion views. PLS&TY‘s singles have charted on Billboard, have consecutively reached #1 on iTunes four times, and have been remixed by Grammy-nominated Morgan Page, Rusko, Cazzette, Bondax, and YehMe2. Tommy has also toured a bevy of A-list festivals, including Shaky Beats, Breakaway, Electric Forest, EDC Vegas, and more. After releasing his debut “Very Special” EP, which featured platinum-selling artists like Sean Kingston, Alex Aiono (of Netflix‘s “Finding Ohana“), Wifisfuneral, and more, 2020-2022 saw PLS&TY become an early adopter of the emerging NFT technology. PLS&TY has co-designed skateboard deck NFTs for Tony Hawk, as well as visuals for celebrity athletes like Floyd Mayweather and even members of Congress. Most recently, PLS&TY‘s NFT projects were referenced in Billboard at the #3 and #10 positions of Top Music NFT Sales in August and September of 2022 alongside Snoop Dogg, Eminem, and David Bowie. 2023 sees PLS&TY emerging with new music and an ever-growing global community of fans following his art, all while wielding the lighthearted “mind your manners” and “please and thank you” catchphrases.

Pulling sonic influences from a wide array of sources, Sydney’s Melita has today unveiled her debut EP titled ‘Hearticulate’. With comparisons being drawn to artists including Silk Sonic, Parcels & Tom Misch, Melita’s glossy vocal performance is a highlight across the release, backed strongly by glorious soul, funk and R&B rhythms. Starting with the swirling ‘Greetings’, the 7-track ‘Hearticulate’ EP then rolls into the title-track, engulfing listeners with Melita’s warm & oh-so-smooth vocals. ‘Delusional’, ‘Crystal Logic’ & ‘Smile’ continue to showcase Melita’s lush vocal range, with ‘Saturn Blues’ picking up the tempo for a funk-inspired number, before rounding out with the climatic and ethereal ‘Hold On To My Mind’.
Inspired by the core memories, moments & realizations of her late teenhood & early adulthood, Melita has created ‘Hearticulate’ as a way to encapsulate and outlay the emotions felt during this coming-of-age period. Written in her bedroom, as an outlet to understand her feelings & ultimately herself, the EP is defined by the songwriting & production skills of herself & her brother Alex Ertler, who grew up on their love for 70s soul, funk & rock. Starting life on her bedroom piano, all of the tracks on ‘Hearticulate’ grew into something bigger when combined with Alex’smusicianship & John Ertler’s (Renee Geyer, Doug Parkinson, Marty Rhone) mixing & mastering.
“This EP is a collection of songs that navigates through defining moments and realizations during my late teenhood to early adulthood. Themes of confusion, growth and matters of the heart litter these songs which were all written on my bedroom piano and recorded with my brother. I felt that “Hearticulate” was such a perfect term to encapsulate what this debut body of work is to me. I’ve always used songwriting as a tool for self-discovery – a way to sift through complex emotions and reveal illuminating truths.” Melita
“All of these tunes were recorded between my brother and I at our home studios. I’ll usually whip up a guide demo and arrange the parts and then Alex will replace some of the instruments and we collaborate from there. We grew up on the same music and have such a love for 70s soul, funk and rock so it’s always an exciting process creating with someone so in tune with my influences.” Melita

In celebration of the “Hearticulate’ EP release, Melita will also be performing at Sydney’s iconic The Red Rattler on its release day; Friday, June 16th. Showcasing the EP’s in its full entirety, she will also be joined by a groovin’ & funky collection of supports, with Kosher Groove & Ellen Mara opening the night. The performance will also be Melita’s opportunity to showcase the tracks in a live, full band setting for the first time.
“It will be a guaranteed groovin’ time with jazz house icons Kosher Groove and soul powerhouse Ellen Mara on supports. Get ready to feel the love and hear all the tunes off “Hearticulate” plus more with Melita’s full band.” Melita
Off the back of strong singles in 2022; ‘Delusional’ & ‘Hearticulate’, as well as 2023’s ‘Crystal Logic’, Melita has become a fixture on the Sydney R&B and soul scene. Those two tracks began capturing attention with crowds and local industry, with Melita now springboarding to national recognition with her debut EP release – it’s impossible not to fall in love with the music on the table!

PRAISE FOR MELITA
“The high-octane “Crystal Logic”, is a glorious infusion of soul, funk and RnB with a disco twist. “Crystal Logic” glistens and smolders, bringing funky disco vibes. Coupled with a classy and confident production, this track is a clear-cut winner.”
The AU Review
“Melita kicks things up a notch and delivers a single that doubles as not only a beautiful piece of dripped-out soul/funk and R&B, but as a striking statement of intent. Initially channeling slick disco soul, with silky smooth vocals, spacey synths, and rubbery bass, ‘Crystal Logic’ has you floating through the stars, before hitting the hyperdrive thanks to THAT slap bass. Melita vibes effortlessly from RnB to Disco Diva and back again, in a shimmering funk-fuelled dance odyssey.”
The Point Music News
“Melita is creating her own unique style of City Pop. Japanese City Pop was popular in the 80s and Melita is giving the genre a modern twist. Her music is infused with the essence of city pop while blending funk and catchy lyrics. Melita’s music will put you in a good mood and make you want to groove.”
Music Shelf With Mustard
“(Melita) combines the aesthetics of R&B/soul, funk, and yacht rock. So smooth, mellow, and she’s not repackaging other music genres – her energy is expansive and I feel so alive.”

Mister Co. set to release their third single “Don’t Talk About It”, a change in the rock direction.
Following the success of their debut and sophomore singles, Mister Co. is back but this time they are leaving “LOVE” at the door.
Written as an emancipation piece, the pair explores the narrative of being held emotionally captive by those who claim to support you. Drawing from their alternative and rock influences, this song will be sure to provide listeners a sense of self liberation while leaving the chorus melody stuck in their head for days.
“We wrote Don’t Talk About It while reflecting on the times in our lives where we felt held back and restricted by people who didn’t want us to succeed with our music, our business and our relationship. This was our chance to respond and have our say.”
The single follows their debut “Tonight” and sophomore “Make You Feel Alright” releases, which received worldwide praise from both radio and editorial. These releases surpassed 50,000 streams, has been featured on over 200 playlists worldwide and has played on radio stations all around the world including Melbourne LGBTIQA+ radio station JOY FM.
Mister Co. is the amalgamation of two passionate musicians and producers, Connor and Oscar Absolum. A genre blended musical duo, Mister Co brings Oscar’s big band and musical theatre influences together with Connor’s love of anthem rock, soul and pop. Although the pair have worked on countless musical projects with various artists both on stage and in the studio, the pair only decided to begin their songwriting career as a duo after their April wedding in 2022.
‘Don’t Talk About It’ was once again co-produced by Dominik Harold from Protonaut Studios and is set to appear on the pair’s debut album which is due for release in early 2024. Titled ‘On This Journey,’ the album is said to feature a collection of songs that tells a story of their journey together from high school to the stage to their union as husbands.
The third single “Don’t Talk About It” from Mister Co. will be available on all streaming platforms on Saturday the 17th of June.
Biography:
Australian singer-songwriting duo Mister Co. embody the true nature of artistry – weaving universal stories with passion and authenticity throughout their extensive catalogue of music. Combining the talents of husbands, Connor and Oscar Absolum, Mister Co. blends soulful vocals and modern-pop elements to create not only an ever-lasting ode to one another but to their audiences – one of connection, love and the value of pursuing your wildest dreams.
With the charisma found only by those working hard at their life-long desire, Mister Co. have developed their catalogue with frequent releases planned in 2023, leading to their debut album in 2024. The year will also see the duo continue their brand and audience building, and their largest performance to date, featuring a 10-piece band.
Garnering attention from audiences and industry alike, previous releases Tonight and Make You Feel Alright have over 55k combined streams with close to 300 playlist additions and a reach of over 175 countries; as well as support from prominent community radio station Joy FM, and radio play across the UK and America.

THIS IS A HARD ONE, but we would both agree we love Japanese food and hanging out on our road trips across the country.
Where are you currently based?
We’re currently based in Sydney
What’s been happening recently?
Things have been pretty non-stop! The reception to our new single has been overwhelmingly positive so we’ve really been trying to ride that wave while we rehearse a bunch for tour.
Your latest single ‘Plastic’ is out now, what influenced the sound and songwriting?
Plastic was written out of frustration really. At the time I felt like I was really only being seen as a toy by the men in my life and it took a lot of work to build the self-worth to stand up to that and say “Hey! no! fuck you! I’m a human being”. That’s why although the lyrics of the song are pretty almost bitter (I’m a big fan of The Smiths so a lot of my writing has that sarcastic tone to it), instrumentally we really went for something with a much brighter almost nostalgic tone. We were playing a lot of 00’s pop between writing sessions and I think that comes through.
What does this single mean to you?
Plastic means a huge deal to me! It feels like such a time capsule of this awful thing I overcame. I’m proud of how overall positive it ended up being and I think it’s some of mine and Josh’s (Gonzalez/producer) best work.
Where and when did you record/produce/master and who did you work with?
I recorded the song with Josh Gonzalez who is a long time friend and creative partner. His writing and production is really what makes Heterochromia what it is. We wrote and recorded the song in his home studio and then sent it off to Chris Vernon to mix and master, because I just have a bunch of talented besties and the band is a great excuse to work with them
How did you approach the recording process?
Very very slowly and with a lot of patience on Josh’s end. Heterochromia is my first time having the musician hat on and so there was a lot to learn. We didn’t want to settle at all. Consequently there was a lot of tweaking until we were both stoked.
You have an upcoming tour, where are you headed?
Yeah oh my god I’m so excited! We’re adventuring around the East coast for the first time with a bunch of old and new friends and then finishing off with a hometown headliner. The tour starts with Canberra and Melbourne so I’m currently in the market for some nice and thick jackets.
What can we expect from your live shows?
Dancing and chaos wrapped in pastel satin. We’ve got such a wonderful, fun live band and we’re all up for a boogie and a banter so that seems to be the kind of vibe we attract in a crowd. We’re playing our whole new ep + a couple overs and maybe some bonus tracks *wink wink*. It should be a really fun time!
Who are you listening to at the moment?
Right this second I’m listening to Jenette Mccurdy’s audiobook. But in terms of music recently I’ve been hyperfixating over Belle Haven’s new songs, Lewis Capaldi’s new album and a bit of Black Flag. I really like to keep spotify’s algorithm guessing in terms of what to recommend to me.
What’s planned for the remainder of 2023?
Well we’re going to release this EP finally, make some new friends up and down the east coast and then maaaaybe even release a little more music before the year ends.

Title: The Noodle Effect
Label: Self-release
After much anticipation and quite some time after its initially announced release date, Spag Heddy‘s debut album – “The Noodle Effect,” is finally out – and trust us, it’s worth the wait. Featuring an impressive 17 tracks, 14 of which are brand new, the body of work is an ode to Spag‘s true evolution as an artist over the last few years. While some tracks, like his recently released “Hammer Time” and the album’s “Fragga,” stay true to Spag Heddy‘s original bass-heavy style, what’s most noteworthy about it are the tracks that demonstrate his stepping outside of the box. In songs like “Vertigo,” “Imagination,” and “Voices,” the Dutch-born, Spain-based producer explores a softer, emotive sound with vocal-driven, melodic electronic ballads. Read on for more about his inspiration behind the album and press play on “The Noodle Effect” to usher in the new era of Spag Heddy.
“With this album, I wanna showcase more of myself than just the headbanger dubstep that I’m known for nowadays. This album made a perfect home for some of my productions that are not dancefloor-aimed but that I absolutely love and have wanted for so long to see the light of day. While a few of these tracks have been years in the making, others are brand new and show what I’m currently vibing with. Thanks to this project, I rediscovered my love and motivation to make melodic and timeless music, whether it’s DJ-friendly and/or danceable or not. ‘The Noodle Effect‘ couldn’t be a better title because it is on-brand, but it also means traveling into a singularity, which essentially is to become timeless.” – Spag Heddy
The Netherlands-born and Spain-based Spag Heddy has been cooking up dubstep hits since 2011, when his club bangers quickly got the attention of fans and industry tastemakers alike. With Skrillex, Rusko, Excision and others counted among his inspirations, Spag has gained widespread acclaim for his hard-hitting and yet melodic style that always feels fresh and forward-thinking. He has multiple successful singles as well as remixes and collaborations for The Chainsmokers, Krewella, SLANDER, and originals that can be heard in sets of Skrillex, Excision, Subtronics, NGHTMRE and many other heavyweights. His high-energy, mesmerizing sets have earned him tours with Zomboy and Flux Pavilion as well as direct support for Excision and Zeds Dead, plus a number of his own headlining tours around the globe. Now on the eve of releasing his most exciting project to date, Spag Heddy is well on his way to the top.

Melbourne-born artist, producer and drummer G Flip announces eight-date national run for August/September 2023
First headline tour of Australia since 2019
Tickets go on sale Tuesday 20 June via www.frontiertouring.com/gflip
With special guests Hope D (Bris, Cairns, Perth), Jacoténe (Adel, Torquay, Melb) and Charley (Syd/Newc)
From unknown artist to international star: multi-talented drummer, singer, songwriter and producer G FLIP is one of a kind. Frontier Touring is thrilled to announce G Flip will return home for the DRUMMER Australian Tour this August/September – performing eight huge shows in Brisbane, Cairns, Adelaide, Perth, Torquay, Melbourne, Sydney and Newcastle.
Transcending boundaries and expectations, G Flip (born Georgia Flipo) is becoming the role model they never had growing up. A near-lifelong musician who took up drumming at just nine-years-old, the rising superstar makes the kind of high-powered rock/pop that could only come from the heart and mind of a drummer. First heard on triple j, last month saw the release of new single ‘Be Your Man’ (out now via Future Classic), a track showcasing G’s insightful and reflective songwriting talent and building upon the vulnerability they have become revered for with their music.
Today’s long-awaited tour news is a homecoming celebration for the singer, marking their first headline dates on Aussie soil since 2019. Tickets go on sale Tuesday 20 June (2pm local time) via www.frontiertouring.com/gflip. Sign up for early access to the Frontier Pre-sale, which starts Monday 19 June (1pm local time).
G Flip recently announced their debut US headline shows, which kick off in September in Santa Cruz, California. The 25-date run includes New York, Boston, Chicago and more, before wrapping in San Francisco in late October. G also just-wrapped a string of stellar Pride Month performances across North America.
Having delivered 2018 debut smash single ‘About You’ – named Best New Track by Pitchfork, with Rolling Stone hailing G Flip as an ‘Artist You Need To Know’ – G Flip matches their potent musicianship with equal parts sonic originality and fantastically outspoken point-of-view (an element informed by their experience as a queer, non-binary artist). They sealed their status as a major festival drawcard with their early, debut performance at Byron’s Splendour In The Grass back in 2018, while last year’s massive return – which saw the drummer performing one-handed! – immediately became the stuff of legend. For the past few years G has dominated triple j’s Hottest 100, the biggest listener voted music poll in the world. 2019 debut About Us has amassed more than 180 million streams to date and debuted on #1 on the ARIA vinyl charts and #6 on Album charts.
Joining the tour as special guests: with singles ‘Hard For Me’, ‘Arizona’ and ‘I Suck At Being Lonely’ accumulating six million combined streams and a Top 4 position at Eurovision Australia Decides in 2022, Sydney-based pop chanteuse Charley (Sydney & Newcastle shows) is on a roll, the energetic singer due to release debut EP TIMEBOMBS in late June. Brisbane artist Hope D (Brisbane, Cairns, Perth shows) made her debut trek to Austin’s SXSW in 2023, following the delivery of debut album Clash of The Substance in Feb 2023. Having performed festival sets at Groovin The Moo, BIGSOUND, Falls and more, fans were won over by tracks like ‘Doormat’ and instant earworm ‘Emerald’. Inspired by artists as diverse as Toots and the Maytals, Gorillaz, Adele, and Amy Winehouse, commanding Melbourne singer Jacoténe (Adelaide, Torquay, Melbourne shows) was crowned triple j’s Unearthed High Winner of 2022, thanks to top 5 most-played track, ‘I Need Therapy (demo)’.
Teasing new music on the way soon, G Flip is ushering in a bold new era. Welcome them home – don’t miss G Flip live on stage this August/September!

Australian/Anglo Indie Rockers NOASIS have just released their new single and music video ‘Walk On’, which was premiered exclusively via Scenestr.
The lads will be hitting the road for a run of Australian tour dates that kick off in July.
“Walk On is inspired by early years of my life in the UK and listening to bands such as the Stone Roses, Gorillaz and Sneaker Pimps. I have a fondness for that period in my life, and the music around our home, and in my grandad’s car. The song is about the pace of 21st century living and for me, the coming of age in a new country and a very different time of life.”
Tom Spiby – NOASIS
NOASIS were originally formed the UK. In 2013, Darren Spiby (founding member of NOASIS) moved to Australia and after a few years acclimatizing, brought together a group of lads to run around Australia playing OASIS anthems.
Managed by Our Kid Promotions, NOASIS are a hardworking band that are nothing short of infectious.

Like most coming-of-age releases, the Minivan EP too rolls through the motions of finding yourself, grief and heartbreak. Less so of the peaks and pits of love in all its forms, but a thorough excavation of the youthful effervescence in that torpedo period between life’s most pivotal stage. While lyrically The Rions attempt to master and understand adulthood, artistically Minivan covers the gamut of the band’s offering – Mylo Xyloto-like, arena-ready choruses with their keen ear for humility and intimacy intact; capturing a similar jolly mischief of the four best friends running rampant through train stations and fields in A Hard Day’s Night.
They reveal, “This EP is definitely a reflection of many experiences the four of us have had individually over the course of our teenage years. The narrative connecting the songs is that of a person that experiences all the ups and downs of an ordinary life. Having issues with yourself, falling in love, having a meltdown and separating yourself from what hurts you most in an attempt to better yourself as a person.”
Produced and recorded in close collaboration with Chris Collins (Matt Corby, Skegss, Middle Kids), Minivan sees The Rions make sense of the noise happening around them in real time with an innate understanding of their influences. Pieces of Liam and Noel through to John and Paul and beyond, they distil and re-invigorate into a universality that speaks volumes of the four 19-year-olds’ maturity and musicality – which has built the group a loyal fanbase and gone on to sell out national tours in the time since their Unearthed High win.
Guided by a consistent drive to evolve, The Rions weave their own dreamcatcher for listeners on Minivan, a protective vessel for solace and community from the big brothers who’ve already gone through it. With each steady stride that’s gotten them here already – back-to-back Hottest 100 entries, tours supporting Lime Cordiale, Boy & Bear, Pacific Avenue amongst others, festival appearances at Grapevine the Gathering, Party In The Paddock, Festival of the Sun and more – The Rions’ debut EP is a giant leap into the band, and men, they seek to become.

Where are you currently based?
On Dharug land in Western Sydney!
What’s been happening recently?
Just moved into a new art studio so I’m incredibly excited to start creating something new here. I also joined and started two new bands, I haven’t played music in a group setting in over 4 years so I’m stoked to start releasing new tunes.
Please tell us about the work you will be presenting at the Future Art is Vivid event:
It will be a mixture of my recent digital art, including my minted NFTs. Most of my work is what I describe as surreal cyber dreamscapes and heavenly wastelands, populated by afro-futuristic abstractions of self with strong ancestral and contemporary themes.
How did your partnership with Future Art come about?
I met Dave and Sats from Future Art back in 2021 I believe and we have been working together on various projects ever since! It was so cool to meet them as at the time I didn’t really know anyone in Sydney who participated or even knew of Web3. One of the first collaborations we did together was for last years Future Art x Vivid in which we created an AR experience with Yahoo that people could view all over Sydney.
What can people expect from the event? It sounds very immersive and engaging, can you describe the experience?
It will be wild if its anything like last years event!! There’s lots of things happening, and the music will compliment the visuals so well. I’m particularly excited to see what Giant Swan is going to do.
Please tell us about your transition from Music artist to visual artist:
It felt very natural, I had basically been playing music full time for years and hadn’t had the chance to work on my visual art. I’m the type of person that likes to put 100% of my time and energy into one thing rather than multitasking so I made time for just art. I still love to play music but at the moment my big focus is on visual.
What it was like working with big brands and garnering the attention of Paris Hilton?
It’spretty surreal, actually. Every job is so different and it helped me learn a lot. The artwork I created for Paris Hilton was one of my favourite projects to date; she was super lovely to work with and couldn’t be happier with the artwork!
How did you come to work with brands?
I started working and collaborating with larger brands and celebs at the start of the pandemic when a lot of design agency’s had to go online. I had been putting my work out on different parts of the web for over a decade at that point so I guess I had built up a decent enough portfolio.
Who are you listening to at the moment musically?
Mostly industrial metal like Godflesh and dance music like Snow Strippers, when I’m working I like to listen to ambient music such as Deepchord and Stephen Hitchell.
What do you have planned for the remainder of 2023?
I’ve got some large scale international projects that I’m working on and I’m very excited to announce when I get the chance (keep and eye out on my socials). I’m also working on a blockchain based game set in Sydney.
Favourite food and place to hangout?
At the moment I’d say La Disfida in Haberfield – best pizza and Italian food in Sydney!!
