Where are you currently based?
I live in the Czech Republic, and I like it here so far, but who knows what the future brings.
How did you first start playing music?
I started playing music when I was about 2 years old because I was highly influenced by my siblings who are great musicians. They played at home often so I became familiar with different tones and sounds. They used to play punk, which may explain why my music is alternative.
What’s been happening recently and how has your Covid experience been so far?
I don´t know how to correctly explain that as it was a very new experience, but for me it has been a disaster. The economy is in trouble and Covid PR is unbelievable. We are constantly being fed information 24/7. There have been a lot of restrictions put in place and this has created a worldwide panic. It’ll be interesting to see the information and end result of everything once things settle down.
Your debut album ‘Discovery’ will be coming out in the next few months of 2020, what influences your sound and songwriting?
This is something connected to my inner self. A bit of my life, but mostly, imaginary stories or ideas. I like imagination and the concept of dreaming. It’s as if you feel that there can be another part of yourself which is struggling through the world. Do we know who we really are? I think that there is a new phenomena in this world and we actually aren´t supposed to be ourselves. We are just parts of a machine and our inner selves are hidden somewhere behind that chaos of malicious thoughts and ideas coming from the outer world. And I suppose my songwriting is highly influenced by the unrecognizable inner motions that keep me alive, separated from things happening outside. I have to say, music is protecting me from going crazy sometimes, especially when I think about what´s been happening around the world.
How do you usually go about writing music?
Technically, I start with rhythm, then I do some music, like melodies and other components. Then I think about lyrics and so on. This is all technical, but there is the question of mood, a very important topic for me but it´s hard to say, this is a process of random behaviour.
Please tell us about the way you approach recording the process that you go through:
There is actually no process I go through. Our current state is the one we have been living in since birth and we have to just “enjoy and live”. The whole process is a manifestation of joy.
What programs/instruments do you use?
I play the bass, guitar, drums, piano and I use my voice mostly. As for programs, I use various ones that I discovered mostly one my own. Each artist has a different style so I’ve definitely found the programs that work for me personally.
What do you find most rewarding and challenging when creating and recording music?
To create the best piece of music I have ever heard.
What do you like to do away from music?
I like travelling, partying and meeting new people.
Who are you listening to at the moment?
It’s hard to say because there isn’t much that I connect with. The other day I listened to ZHU and Radiohead, who I’ve always liked. Apart from that, nothing brand new that has caught my attention.
What’s planned for the remainder of 2020 going into 2021?
To save the world, maybe, because this is the most important thing, and I am not the only one. There are many people who would like to do the same. So, when we all try our best, we will achieve that, and everything will be fine. There are many ways to accomplish that.
Favourite food and place to hangout?
I love a lot of pubs here in the Czech Republic. One of the greatest Mexican restaurants is situated in Pilsen where I used to live. When I want to go out for a meal, I like to choose that one. When I want to hang out, I prefer going to Zach´s Pub, which is an Irish pub, or other local places such as Raven.
Keoni will release his first album ‘’Discovery’’ on October 12th

Presented in conjunction with the band’s community brand A Day For The Beaches, the film will premiere online at 8pm local time on Friday 25 September in Sydney, UK, New York City and Los Angeles, available for ticket-buyers to watch at any time globally for 48 hours. The band will join a live Q&A chat hosted on the video platform to coincide with the premiere in each time zone.
Lonely Diamond – Live In Studio tickets are available for $16.99 from oceanalley.com.au.
Shot on 16mm film and digital by frequent collaborators The Sauce, Lonely Diamond – Live In Studio was recorded at Sydney’s Studios 301 and provides an intimate live setting for music-lovers to experience Ocean Alley’s latest album, immersing fans into their world with a look into the action and banter that goes on behind-the-scenes and during a live performance. With audio recorded by the band’s long-time producer Callum Howell, Ocean Alley’s renowned production and performance quality is at the forefront of the film – never losing the charming or dynamic essence for which they are so celebrated – reimagining how Lonely Diamond can be experienced in a new and socially-distanced way while providing the first opportunity for fans to connect with the album in a full band performance, despite the current pause on touring due to COVID-19. Adding a dimension of otherworldliness to the film, the album’s visual identity is integrated into the set’s design, using irregular shapes and contrasting gradients to lean into Lonely Diamond’s themes of exploration and escapism.

Hot off the heels of two stellar singles so far this year, KGATLW are back at it with another crunchy groove. This one imbued with a rigid clockwork backbeat that’s in no hurry to snap the listener from the psychedelic trance it induces. ‘Straws In The Wind’ is a headphone odyssey, with scant percussion and delicate acoustic plucks spread over the stereo spectrum, jumping from left to right and back across. Harmonicas, mellotron-like synths and microtonal riffage sit below Ambrose Kenny-Smith’s vocals, as each melody melts and falls after each other in steady motion. Both locking into and softening the percussive edges of this 5 minute roller. |

|
Working again with long time collaborator Jason Galea, the video for ‘Straws’ sees the band bring 80’s kitsch to the screen. With a VCR fever dream that intoxicates and warps the viewer with each blinking glitch and jerky skitter. |

CRATERFACE JOIN FORCES WITH SHADY NASTY ON ‘ORIGAMI’ FROM FORTHCOMING MIXTAPE BURN AFTER LISTENING
|
|
Since touring together in support of the Bad Posture EP, both groups have nurtured their bond, carved out in ‘ORIGAMI‘ as a DIY labour of love. Written and produced by Craterface, the music video was shot by Shady Nasty drummer Luca Watson and their frequent collaborator Harry Welsh (Behind You). Vocalist Kevin Stathis shares, “ORIGAMI was an absolute pleasure for us and we’re honoured to be a part of it. Full credit to the Craterface boys for their undying courage and determination.”
Speaking on the collaborative process, Craterface say: “Thematically, the track details a severe sense of urgency from baby bruh, which is paired with a poetic description of mental hesitation from Kevin. The title stems from Kevin’s lyric “folding into two”, conceptually we liked that a lot and knew it had many subtle applications to other lyrics found in the song.”
Filmed in their native Newcastle, the clip flicks between overt and disguised references of spirituality, reflection and ascension including but not limited to the Christ Church Cathedral, Stockton Bridge, and The Terminator. Distorted animations chop and change throughout, like flying internal thoughts of turmoil. Craterface carefully curate each element of their craft at home, comfortably keeping their own feet on the gas. Now with the upcoming release of their confessional tape BURN AFTER LISTENING, baby bruh and taki local explore belief, heartbreak, cyclical growth and finding self love, while wearing their hometown on their sleeve.
‘ORIGAMI ft. Shady Nasty’ by Craterface is out now, buy/stream it here.

BEN HARPER REVEALS OCTOBER 23 RELEASE DATE FOR SOLO LAP STEEL GUITAR ALBUM WINTER IS FOR LOVERS UNVEILS NEW SONG “LONDON”
Ben Harper has released “London,” a new preview of his forthcoming album Winter is For Lovers (ANTI- Records). Along with the single, Harper has confirmed the album’s release date for October 23rd. The album is Harper’s first-ever entirely instrumental project, and in many ways his entire musical life has culminated in this moment: a 15-song solo recording of original compositions imagined as a symphony on his lap steel guitar.
Watch Harper perform a live version of “London” that was just filmed at The Folk Music Store, the influential California instrument shop his grandparents opened in the 1950s.
“The track ‘London’ for me is influenced by the great British guitar players, such as Richard Thompson, Nick Drake, John Martyn, Jimmy Page. It’s got that driving British push and pulse, a jingling jangling rumble that I tried to get that sound on that track and to me it felt like London specifically,” Harper says of the track.
Meditative and affecting, the music featured on Winter Is For Lovers is deeply ingrained in Harper’s DNA and leads directly back to The Folk Music Store, which has hosted luminaries of all stripes, including Sonny Terry, Brownie McGhee, the Rev. Gary Davis, Doc Watson and John Fahey. While Harper worked in the shop throughout his childhood, he met iconic players like Leonard Cohen, Taj Mahal, David Lindley and Jackson Browne.
Winter Is For Lovers is filled with the music Harper heard growing up, listening to the blues, Hawaiian and classical guitar masters in his mother’s record collection. He gravitated early on to the distinct wail of the slide guitar, learning finger picking from the great Taj Mahal and later studying with Chris Darrow of Nitty Gritty Dirt Band – a lap steel virtuoso who had a major influence on Harper’s lifelong embrace of the instrument.
Harper has pushed musical boundaries since his 1994 debut and his lap steel guitar has played a tremendous role in his distinct sound throughout his career. But he’s never made an album that so purely distills his reverence for the instrument, and his mastery of it.

Agoria presents RE:GENERATION DAY II featuring Attari, Kate Zubok, Maximilien and more
After the success of the inaugural edition on May 1st, Agoria is proud to present RE:GENERATION DAY II on October 2nd. Once again his Sapiens label will unveil five distinctive new EPs on the same day from five exciting new artists who all have their own unique musical styles. Attari, Gauchos De Media Noche, Yacine Dessouki & NDRK, Kate Zubok and Maximilien are all stepping up.
Says the man himself, “I am convinced, more than ever, that a loud voice is needed to support artists and future leaders. I most probably became an activist when I had to strive to organise techno and rave parties, which forced me to stand up to the local authorities in order to create the Nuits Sonores Festival in Lyon, France. In that respect, the idea of Re:Generation Day emerged – a day dedicated to bringing four emerging artists to the front. I am fond of their music, and I hope, so will you be, and that somehow it will regenerate you.”
First up is Monkey Parade Records founder Attari, who hails from Brussels and over the last 15 years has become a staple of the scene with releases on Eskimo Recordings, mule musiq and Discotexas. He is also booker and resident at Paradise City festival and is behind the legendary clubs Dirty Dancing and Libertine Supersport in Brussel. His EP opener ‘Pongo Parade’ is a bubbly piece of summery balearic house music with lush chords and retro-future flavours, and’Serpentar’ is a slow motion workout with wiry electronics, tumbling toms and warm, deep bass.
Gauchos de Media Noche is a mysterious project that describes itself as “the meeting of three modest creoles in search of the epiphany that is revealed behind the clear indulgent shadow. It is also a horse that dreams of being a man under the love of a gentle carob tree.” It is founded by Hernan Corera, a prominent and award wining film director and Rolling Stone photographer who has made high profile commercials for the likes of Coca Cola and won a Latin Grammy for his music video “Gallo Negro” for IKV.
Musically his Vol. 2 EP kicks off with atmospheric ambient and acoustic guitars on ‘Los Negritos’, takes in dreamy electronica on ‘Sophrosyne Σωφροσύνη’ and beautiful modern classical piano playing on ‘José Hernandez (Trenes A Catedral)’. ‘Romancero Gitano’ is a detailed soundtrack that awakens the soul with its richly layered synths and found sounds while ‘Fontanelle’ is an edgy and intense melodic affair with crystalline keys and celestial pads all suspending you in mid air. ‘Calle Mayor’ ends with more pensive and escapist ambient charms that leave you in a state of bliss.
Morocco’s Yacine Dessouki is a regular at places like fabric and Printworks in London and brings his multicultural background into his music as well as organising his own immersive parties Anomalia & Blanche. He has developed his own unique voice in the studio and this debut EP proves that. It finds him linking up with NDRK and their Dancers in the Dark EP kicks off with the epic title track, a mix of organic and synthetic sounds and subtle rhythms that lifts you to the heavens before driving forwards. The deep grooves of ‘Unknown Tomorrow’ has an enchanting lead that sounds exotic and worldly, ‘Undergo’ is more deriving and direct with its big kicks but mellifluous synth modulations and ‘Rythmica’ is masterfully melodic house for the peak of a night. ‘Arrival’ ends on a sombre, introspective mood and late night grooves.
Kate Zubok is an underground Paris-based DJ and Producer who hails from Ukraine. She is obsessed with cosmic sounds and flying chords and has played all over the world alongside the likes of Bedouin and Black Coffee. She opens up her EP with ‘Inner world’ featuring soft hang drum sounds and delicate tinkles on a piano, then gets more physical with the elastic beats and complex harmonies and melodies of her hypnotic ‘Bubble Gum.’ Last of all, ‘Is It Worth It?’/’СТОИТ ЛИ?’ explores distorted synth sounds and eerie vocal loops that are utterly spell binding as they unfold on a heady, airy groove.
The final release comes from Frenchman, Maximilien. After spending 15 years in music school, devoting himself to modern hits with artists such as Justice, Daft Punk, Sebastian and Weval, he now fuses electro, pop, ambient and classical in his own ways. This diversity allows for an impactful message with epic vibrations, and a special focus on harmonic richness. His ‘Ravï’ single is riddled with Indian sounding melodic leads, smeared synths and deep cut, inviting kick drums that invite you in and take you on a real journey to another part of the world.
EGOISM announce new single HERE’S THE THING and forthcoming EP ON OUR MINDS
2019 saw EGOISM perform at Bigsound, become triple j Unearthed’s 11th most played artist, achieve the 5th and 8th most played songs on Fbi radio, receive a nomination for both “Song of the Year” and “Next Big Thing” in the Fbi radio SMAC awards, have their single “You You” hit #1 on the Community Radio charts, and co-headline a tour of the east coast with Pinkish Blu.
Now, following their previous singles, “What Are We Doing?” and “You You”, EGOISM are pleased to announce their long-awaited EP On Our Minds will be dropping on November 6th 2020.
The On Our Minds EP was written, recorded and produced by the duo in their bedrooms, mixed by Matthew Neighbour (The Avalanches, Matt Corby, Sky Ferreira) and funded by the triple j Level Up Grant. Three new tracks will be added to their already released singles with their latest “Here’s the Thing” being released today (17th of September).
“I wrote ‘Here’s the Thing’ in the middle of Winter while I was house-sitting my friend’s studio apartment in the city while they went to Europe. At the time I was dropping out of TAFE, my relationship was falling apart, and it wouldn’t stop raining outside. It felt like the world was caving in on itself. It was hard to finish this one; listening to a past version of myself singing about feeling absolutely heartbroken over and over again – it’s totally draining. I like it now, but it took some time. I don’t think I’ve ever captured a moment through lyrics that intensely before.”
EGOISM is a duo made up of childhood friends Scout Eastment and Olive Rush. They’re from the inner west of Sydney and create dreamy emotional guitar pop. Scout and Olive taught each other how to write songs; running melodies and lyrics past each other on the bus to school.
Self-described as “headphones on the train” music, they combine their dual lead vocals with introspective lyrics, pristine melodies and a trademark shoegaze influence.

Grammy Award Winning Tiësto Announces Forthcoming Single ‘The Business’ on Atlantic Records
GRAMMY® AWARD-WINNING SUPERSTAR DJ/PRODUCER TO CELEBRATE WITH EAGERLY AWAITED NEW SINGLE
“THE BUSINESS” ARRIVES FRIDAY, SEPTEMBER 25TH AT ALL DSP AND STREAMING SERVICES
Atlantic Records is very proud to announce the worldwide signing of superstar DJ and producer Tiësto to its groundbreaking roster. The GRAMMY® Award-winning producer will celebrate with the release of his eagerly awaited new single, “The Business,” available Friday, September 25th at all DSPs and streaming services.
Named by Mixmag as the “Greatest DJ of All Time,” Tiësto is currently hard at work completing his Atlantic Records debut album, with release slated for 2021. “The Business” marks Tiësto’s first commercial release since the release earlier this year of his acclaimed seventh studio album, THE LONDON SESSIONS, highlighted by such hit singles as Tiësto & Dzeko Feat. Preme & Post Malone’s RIAA platinum certified “Jackie Chan,” which has a staggering 1.5 billion worldwide streams and more than 151 million video views to date. THE LONDON SESSIONS also includes the international blockbuster, “Ritual” by Tiësto, Jonas Blue & Rita Ora, joined by a massively popular companion video directed by the legendary Sophie Muller and now boasting over 110 million views via YouTube alone.
Tiësto is of course one of the biggest contemporary stars of any musical genre, a chart-topping, award-winning, multi-platinum international icon whose remarkable body of work (spanning myriad albums, singles, EPs, remixes, mixtapes, and more) virtually defines today’s electronic dance music. With over 8 billion streams across all platforms– including over 22.5 million monthly streams via Spotify alone – the Dutch DJ/producer has more than earned such extraordinary honorifics as “The Godfather of EDM” Rolling Stone’s #1 “DJs That Rule The Earth,” and DJ Mag’s “Best DJ of the Last 20 Years,” to name but a few.
Throughout his remarkable career, Tiësto has collaborated with a truly incredible selection of like-minded artists, from Post Malone, Diplo and Martin Garrix to Busta Rhymes, The Chainsmokers, Gucci Mane, Icona Pop, Tegan & Sara, and Matthew Koma, with whom he partnered on 2014’s RIAA platinum certified hit, “Wasted (Feat. Matthew Koma).” Among his most successful collaborations has been alongside the one and only John Legend, including 2015’s GRAMMY® Award-winning “All of Me (Tiësto’s Birthday Treatment Remix).” Most recently, Tiësto joined forces with Vintage Culture to drop dance-floor, party banger “Coffee (Give Me Something),” it is available now via Musical Freedom for streaming and download here.
Additionally, Tiësto’s popular CLUBLIFE compilation series includes five volumes to date, while his radio show of the same name has proven one of the world’s most enduring and popular weekly broadcasts, reaching over 35 million listeners on 149 stations in 90 countries each week.
Now, with his exclusive worldwide signing to Atlantic Records, Tiësto is poised to once again lead the next evolution of electronic dance music, as ever exploring uncharted terrain to create what may well be his biggest and boldest music thus far.
Tiesto ‘The Business’ will be available 25th September via Atlantic Records

REVEALS TRIUMPHANT ACCOMPANYING VIDEO CLIP FOR DEBUT SINGLE ‘ONE TIME’
SUPPORT FOR ‘ONE TIME’
“The Melbourne-based musician’s debut single is a wind-swept R&B moment that feels like the future of Australian music.”
– Pilerats (AUS)
“The video is just constant euphoria – Martha’s huge smile and ace dance moves are impossible to not get lost in, especially paired with Antoine’s bars and the song’s addictive beat.”
– Cool Accidents (AUS)
“Antoine out here singing ‘One Time’ pretty sure the people will demand seconds tho. Took me to the islands with this sexy track, also here for the Shy Guy break down. Come On, Antoine!” – 4.5/5 stars
– Ilai Swindells – triple j (AUS)
Added to Apple Music playlists ‘New Music Daily’ and ‘The New Australia’
Added to Spotify playlist ‘the hybrid’
Following on from his mesmerising debut single ‘One Time’, Melbourne-based R&B newcomer Antoine has teamed up with Reebok for the accompanying video clip – directed by Liam Kelly and Zoee Marsh.
The clip follows the main character Martha as she embarks on her day, dancing through the back streets of Geelong, Victoria. Shot using hand-held cameras, the video flows from shot-to-shot capturing the exquisite choreography and boundless energy of its main characters, including their 90s inspired get-ups.
Director Zoee Marsh describes the process and inspiration behind the clip:
“Our aim was to document the song being heard for the very first time by diving into the fun energy that this track creates. We paralleled Martha’s journey with the journey of the CD being given to her at the start and passed on at the end. Concerning the movement, Martha and I worked on embodying the vibe of the track in the most authentic way so when shooting the clip, Martha’s energy effortlessly poured out of her whilst making her way through the locations. We also explored set choreography in sections but were driven to make it as seamless and free as possible.”
Since release the track has been widely embraced by Spotify, Apple Music, triple j Unearthed, Pilerats, AUD’$, Mixdown Magazine, The Local Frequency, The Soundcheck, AAA Backstage and Radio Adelaide.
Antoine comes from a family of musicians, who all originate from Mauritius, East Africa and Italy. His Dad is a multi-instrumentalist who still plays shows to this day, and his mother was also a back-up R&B vocalist in the ’80s. Both parents have been huge influences, making it difficult for him to have passion elsewhere. Wearing his influences on his sleeves, Antoine is on a mission to bring some old school R&B back to life.
‘One Time’ is available worldwide now
