John Markey and Oliver Melling's new three-track EP is a pristinely produced house record, placing themselves and budding new label Jackie Knows Karate Records at the forefront of Scotland’s dance music scene. The record is the sixth impressive release to come from the label and sees the pair confidently step into the House genre. Deep and atmospheric, March Last Year is one for the afterparties. The opening track tao b.u is a wafty 6-minute number that ebbs and flows over arpeggio synths, building heat until the final fifth-minute drop. TSDM is an altogether more visceral house track that manages to retain the same level of atmosphere while a dark, driving riff means the track is at home on the sweatiest of dancefloors. Raw and dramatic, the third and final track, Tokens, delves a little deeper. A slower-burner than its predecessor, the energy radiating from this track pulls the groove forward until the middle-break when the dancefloor is given some breathing space before  he final drop carries the EP home. Oliver Melling said: “These tracks were conceived at a time when we were playing longer, heavier sets in all manner of weird and wonderful places. Taking to the booth often three times a weekend was frenetic. “The energy was wild, exciting, exhausting - so many thoughts and goals were all swirling around during this period in which these tracks were produced. I think that while they're obviously designed for certain environments - dropping an early version of TSDM closing the Dockland stage at Riverside Festival cemented this - they reflect that period of our lives accurately and personally: heavy, raw, and sleepless.” Hailing from Glasgow, We Should Hang Out More are longstanding champions of the city’s thriving dance music scene. Since arriving on the scene in 2014 Oliver Melling and John Markey have evolved from fresh-faced upstarts putting on small parties on the fringes of the Glasgow scene, to becoming two of the most celebrated DJs and party curators in Scotland. Known for being trailblazers of the underground, WSHOM operate on a ‘good music for good times’ ethos. It is no surprise then that blossoming homegrown label Jackie Knows Karate Records is boasting their latest release. Centred around a philosophy of “No BS. Just Pure House.”, the label has already accumulated an impressive stream of releases that have gained support from the likes of Patrick Topping and Shiba San. https://www.facebook.com/weshouldhangoutmore https://www.instagram.com/we_should_hang_out_more/

We Should Hang Out More

by the partae August 20, 2020
written by the partae

Where are you currently based?

In Govanhill in Glasgow. It’s the most culturally diverse area of Scotland, full of creatives and interesting locations, more languages than anywhere else in the country and a ton of green spaces. We like it here.

Your new EP ‘March Last Year’ will be out August 21, what influenced the sound and songwriting?

This was written at a time when we were holding down a residency in Glasgow’s largest after hours venue. It was a wild time, with us sometimes playing three times in a weekend until ungodly hours of the morning. The creativity, energy and vibes at that time were so exciting and exhausting. We wanted to write some music that we felt represented the venues we were regularly playing in, and so began writing our first house EP. There are many more to come.

How did you go about writing the music?

This was before we had built our studio and so were literally made in our bedrooms. We would take turns moving synths across the east end of Glasgow in the rain in January/February and sitting up late getting frustrated. It was a truly collaborative process, however all three tracks were from Oliver’s genesis. We cracked them eventually and sat on them for a while before deciding to send them out to labels. We wanted to work with someone in Glasgow, so Jackie Knows Karate were a great fit, as they weren’t reticent about a slightly heavier sound which we were feeling at the time.

Where and when did you produce?

Production took place in bedrooms, and mixing anywhere with a plug and headphones. We’ve since built a studio, which over lockdown has been a saviour.

What programs/instruments did you use?

We used Ableton as the DAW. Then a good chunk of the instrumentation is played through a Korg Minilogue (which any Minilogue owner will hear in these tracks immediately!), the Arturia Drumbrute provided some of the ancillary percussion and the rest would have been some finely attuned samples as well as the occasional digital synth.

Please tell us about your studio setup:

Now we have (see attached photo!) a Korg Minilogue, Novation Bassstation II, Artutria Drumbrute, a Fender Jazz bass, a few midi keys, a microphone and plenty of plugins.

How did you approach the recording/production process?

Recently we’ve been beginning tunes separately, bringing them as far as we can individually and then passing them over to each other. The new ears bring new musical ideas as well as new perspectives on the mix itself. We each have particular strengths which the other recognise and respect so it’s a great partnership.

Who are you listening to at the moment?

We’ve been listening to an absolute ton of music during lockdown. Spending countless hours cycling, walking and drinking mean countless hours of imbued culture. There’s always such a wide range of countries and genres always being played in our flat. Ladies on Mars’ edits have been lovely to get you moving in the morning, our pal Wuh Oh has been killing it with his bonkers productions, Fontaines D.C’s new record is unreal, Celeste has been a beautiful vibe, Baba Stiltz been on a lot, Toy Tonics always pump out jams to keep your feet moving, Mura Mesa made a track with Tirzah which has been on repeat the last week or so… This list could go on and on!

What do you like to do away from music?

With what little time we have away from music, we like to drink and eat. Also travelling and arguing with friends about politics. Lockdown has made a lot of that impossible, so we’ve mostly been drinking and eating. We’re also both keen cyclists so we’ve been taking this opportunity to properly explore some of the amazing Scottish scenery all around Glasgow.

What’s planned for the remainder of 2020?

Fuck knows haha. It really depends on what apocalyptic cliche happens next. If we manage to avoid nuclear war or alien invasion we’re going to keep producing at the rate we have over the last few months. We’ve got some serious stuff on the way which we can’t wait to get out there. Also, we’ve set up our own label In The Event of Capture and are lining up some releases on that. Send us demos! intheeventofcapture@wshom.club.

Favourite food and place to hangout?

We eat anything. We hangout (more?) anywhere. Just name the time and place. We’ll bring the cutlery.

Commenting on the announcement Festival Director, Peter Noble OAM says “There’s a number of all Australian line up announcements to come that includes ‘real’ headliners, Indigenous artists and Blues n Roots artists. We are setting ourselves up to put on another great Bluesfest albeit in a brand new way. There will be challenges, and we expect to be presenting a festival with a lower capacity and potentially outdoors in order to have a safe event. It is sad for us to see that a number of festivals will not go ahead. However, we are working with Government to present a safe event and be part of the return of ‘live’ music in this country. Whilst it is disheartening to hear that Woodford and Port Fairy Folk Festivals feel that the challenge of presenting is something they don’t want to take on right now, and which is totally understandable, it doesn’t mean that events cannot return, and I believe it is important for Bluesfest to be a part of that return and to help lead the way.” Bluesfest is in regular communications with Government regarding the Bluesfest COVID-19 Safety Plan that has been lodged. I feel this is the way of the future, the excitement and rawness of a live set can't be described in words. About Eelke Kleijn

Three albums into a well established, yet still rapidly ascending career, Kleijn is an artist very much in his element. In the grand scheme of things, he’s an underground artist, but one who has effortlessly made the jump into the wider world when the time and opportunity have felt right. With a background playing piano, guitar, and bass and a healthy sideline in composing for film and TV, his productions are imbued with a deep sense of musicality and emotion. Remixing for the likes of John Legend, Pendulum, James Newton Howard & Jennifer Lawrence, and scoring Hollywood blockbusters like Rush, Parker, and This Means War, Eelke Kleijn really excels in everything he sets his mind to. His latest artist album ‘Moments Of Clarity’ is the apex of his work so far, combining deep house and techno in perfect harmony. His multi-faceted platform ‘DAYS like NIGHTS’ emcompasses a label, a radio show, a podcast, and spectacular parties, firmly establishing him as one of the scene’s most creative and pioneering producers.

It’s a wrap on Series One of The Sound!

Having shone a light on some of our country’s finest musicians and songwriters for six weeks now – from iconic chart-toppers (Nick Cave, Paul Kelly, Kylie Minogue, Midnight Oil) to triple j stars (Illy, DMA’S, Angie McMahon, Amy Shark) and arresting newcomers (BENEE, Miiesha, Dallas Woods) – each week The Sound has delivered incredible performances, proudly captured and delivered by Mushroom Vision and the ABC.

Australian music needs to be heard. For Episode Six this Sunday – our final instalment of this first series – we’ve got yet another line-up you don’t want to miss.

Joining regulars Jane Gazzo and Zan Rowe this week are three very special guest co-hosts: 4x Grammy winner Keith Urban, who releases his 10th studio album, THE SPEED OF NOW Part 1, on 18 September. He’s joined by acting legend Jack Thompson, while we also have a special appearance by the music man himself – Molly Meldrum.

Tune in to Episode Six for performances by:

  •  Her breakout hit ‘Dance Monkey’ hit #1 in 30 countries, and was the most streamed song globally for over four months. The Sound is thrilled to welcome Tones And I performing another of her hits, ‘Never Seen The Rain’, this week
  • The only AU artist in ARIA chart history to achieve six #1 singles and two #1 albums: Guy Sebastian has sold almost four million albums to date. He performs his hit single ‘Standing With You’ inside Sydney’s historic Town Hall
  • Multi-Platinum, ARIA award-winners Bliss n Eso are one of the biggest local touring artists of the last decade. The trio is back with a blistering new single, the first taste of new music since 2017’s #1 Off The Grid
  • Coming off the back of their first ever #1 album (Akilotoa | Anthology 1994-2006), Vika and Linda show off their amazing gospel harmonies, with a killer rendition of single ‘There Ain’t No Grave (Gonna Hold My Body Down)’ – which can be heard on the duo’s album Sunday (The Gospel According To Iso), due out 11 September
  • Creating a haunting merging of living traditional culture with electronic music, multi-award winning Adelaide duo Electric Fields bring moments of breathtaking beauty and power to their cover of ‘From Little Things, Big Things Grow’, which appears on Cannot Buy My Soul: The Songs of Kev Carmody 2020 Edition. Exclusively for The Sound, they perform alongside three special guests: Missy Higgins, Jessica Mauboy and John Butler
  • With their serious love for the blues, powerhouses Josh Teskey (The Teskey Brothers) and Ash Grunwald will launch their very special project with an exclusive performance this Sunday. Tune in to find out all the details!
  • With 22 million+ streams worldwide, rising star CXLOE inked a deal to release her debut album via Sandlot Records (Lady Gaga, Ariana Grande). She joins us to perform the excellent ‘12 Steps’

“I wouldn’t be where I am if it weren’t for Billy Thorpe,” Jimmy Barnes once told The Guardian. This week’s ‘Tribute’ segment is a celebration of the mighty Billy Thorpe and the Aztecs, with a collaboration starring: Jimmy Barnes, Chris Cheney (The Living End), Mahalia Barnes, Ben Rodgers, Lachy Doley and Jackie Barnes.

Melbourne producer Alice Ivy who last month unveiled her highly-anticipated sophomore album, Don’t Sleep via Dew Process to a deluge of critical acclaim has synched the record’s joyous summer anthem ‘In My Mind’ featuring Ecca Vandal in Apple’s global “Shot on iPhone” campaign, released worldwide on August 17.  Watch it HERE.

The synch sees Ivy, who’s fast becoming a household name in Australia, owing in no small part to eight consecutive singles and recent feature album on triple j the title-track from which ‘Don’t Sleep’ was also the most played song on the station in April, join the esteemed company of electronic luminaries Daft Punk, The Ting Tings, Chairlift and fellow Australian Flume to be hand-picked by the global tech giant.

Reflecting on the opportunity Alice Ivy says, “When I was growing up I was obsessed with iPod ads and I’d download all of the songs that featured on them. The fact that “In My Mind” has been chosen for an iPhone campaign is honestly something I could never have dreamed of happening. A thousand blessings to Apple for believing in me and my music.”

The latest in a series of achievements that also includes a #2 debut on the ARIA Dance Albums Chart and inking a global publishing JV with Concord Music and Native Tongue last month points to Alice Ivy potentially making a collision course with becoming the first Australian female producer to claim the coveted award for Best Dance Album at the 2020 ARIA’s.

The official video for ‘In My Mind‘, labelled “absurdly charming” by taste-making US music blog Gorilla Vs Bear, was directed by Claudia Sangiorgi Dallimore.

DIESEL SINGLE ‘COME BACK’ OUT NOW NEW ALBUM SUNSET SUBURBIA OUT 28 AUGUST + ALBUM LAUNCH SHOW AT LIZOTTE’S ON 29 AUGUST

by the partae August 19, 2020
written by the partae

After more than 30 years in the top tier of Australian rock, soul and blues, Diesel (Mark Lizotte) has delivered an album that melds all the varied sides of his musical personality – and reveals a few new ones. World, meet Sunset Suburbia.

“It’s all of my life’s work so far brought to fruition, in many ways. It’s pretty encompassing,” says Diesel.

The single ‘Come Back’ made an immediate connection with audiences Australia wide after Diesel performed it on The Sound on Sunday evening. Watch the captivating performance below.

Sunset Suburbia is Diesel at his timeless best.  An album of ten new songs, it is a superb display of the diversity of this multi-instrumentalist’s musicianship working in harmony with his singing, songwriting and self-taught production skills.

“Stylistically,” says Diesel, “it’s got the R&B DNA in it that’s very me.”

Diesel will bring Sunset Suburbia to life on the live stage at Lizotte’s on Saturday 29 August, for a very special launch show. Fans have the chance to purchase tickets to the limited capacity shows or can watch the show as it is streamed online. Tickets can be purchased at dieselmusic.com.au.

2020 sees Diesel at the top of his game, as he self-isolates at his suburban home in Sydney writing, playing, singing and producing music – there is even talk of a blues album being recorded, although time will tell if it sees the light of day.

Channelling the iconic musical palette of ‘Since I Left You’, ‘Criminals (The Avalanches Remix)’ pushes the boundaries and pulls at the heartstrings. In true Avalanches fashion, the track is packed with nostalgia and unexpected turns, transforming DMA’S biggest pop moment into a wistful, melancholic slice of lo-fi that is like looking at your childhood through a kaleidoscope. “It was a real pleasure to be asked to remix DMA'S. Awesome melodies, awesome talent, awesome energy, I listen to them all the time. It was really nice to be given free reign and to let loose with some free-flowing old school Since I Left You vibes on this remix. Thank you, guys” - Robbie Avalanche ‘Criminals’ is lifted off DMA’S third studio album THE GLOW which was released on Friday 17 July via I OH YOU. Recorded and mixed by multiple Grammy Award winning producer Stuart Price (The Killers, New Order, Madonna), THE GLOW has seen the band fulfil their world class potential, debuting at #2 on the ARIA Charts, #4 in the UK and #1 in Scotland. DMA’S just completed their third and final weekend of a sold-out 18-show run at Sydney’s Factory Theatre to GLOWing reviews.

ASHA IMUNO Shares new single 'Big Words'
Music News

ASHA IMUNO Shares new single ‘Big Words’

by the partae August 19, 2020
written by the partae

California-born, LA-based, producer and rapper Asha Imuno today debuts his new single ‘Big Words’ from his forthcoming album via b4 / Remote Control Records. The single is available to buy and stream now on all available platforms.

On the new song, he states: “When I first started recording I was a couple months away from graduation, staying in my pops’ empty apartment and moving real recklessly. I realised it was time to switch my life up — this song became my way of saying that against all odds, I’m making progress.” ‘Big Words’ follows Imuno’s self-released debut album, ‘Full Disclosure’, which Complex praised as, “a true exhibition of being young and free.”

At the age of 19, Imuno has already lived multiple musical lives. He picked up trombone and piano as a child, later joining jazz and marching bands, whilst learning digital composition. By high school, he had original music demos under his belt. The last component for Imuno, as an artist, was finding his voice. “I hadn’t really sung since I was six years old,” says Imuno, of picking up the microphone again in high school to sing and rap. “My family has always been really musical, and my grandmother was a pianist in various San Diego churches. My mom led the choir, and my dad can sing opera.”

Beyond his music upbringing, living and creating with the multimedia collective Raised By The Internet has stimulated his desire to produce and engineer the majority of his music, often from his bedroom. Watch out for his second album, forthcoming on b4.

While his debut single 'Everybody’s Dying To Meet You' was written and recorded in Los Angeles during writing sessions for FKA twigs’ acclaimed Magdalene album (described in more detail in a recent profile in The Face magazine), 'Are You Doing This To Hurt Me' had much more humble beginnings. Written six months previously, the song followed the amicable but painful breakup of a relationship, with Flynn having recently dropped out of Guildhall University and living in a tiny box room-meets-home studio in an east London flat share. With a gloriously confident intro making way for a beguiling lyrical vulnerability, it’s a brilliant follow up statement from the young songwriter, beatmaker and multi-instrumentalist who has previously collaborated with the likes of Jeshi, TTY, Jockstrap, Vegyn, Slowthai, Celeste and Black County, New Road.   'Are You Doing This To Hurt Me' is accompanied by an Aliyah Otchere and Geordie Bottomley directed video, shot at Dalston’s Rio Cinema, where the video was also premiered last night. Available from today on all digital services, it will also be available on super limited (100 copies) 7” vinyl. The vinyl will feature 100 unique hand made artworks by Ethan using mixed media art form, ink, spin art and letter press and comes backed with exclusive new track 'What You Do To Me'.    Today, Ethan P. Flynn also announces details of an expanded version of his debut compilation and career retrospective B-Sides & Rarities Volume 1. Originally released via Bandcamp, B-Sides & Rarities Volume 1 is an evolving body of work featuring a collection of songs recorded between 2015 and 2018.  Showcasing a deft songwriting flair and touching on musical inspirations that run the gamut from Sparklehorse to Madlib, Julia Holter to Danny Brown and Tom Waits, the collection first appeared via Bandcamp in 2019. The record’s next chapter saw Tokyo’s renowned Big Love Records pressing the album to vinyl at the start of 2020, exclaiming “A genius appears! The first hero of the 2020s!” Now expanded to include four new songs – 'Everybody’s Dying To Meet You', 'Are You Doing This To Hurt Me?', 'What You Do To Me' and 'When I Taste The Pavement' – it will get a full global release via Young Turks on 10th September.   Pre-save / pre-order B-Sides & Rarities Vol. 1 HERE Ethan P. After clocking up over 6500 streams in just a matter of months with their debut single Someone Else, Among The Restless are back with their follow up track Without You. Taking their music to the next level, ATR have called in renowned producer Steve James (Red Engine Recording) to take care of the engineering and mixing – and with names such as The Screaming Jets, The Angels, Cold Chisel and Airbourne under his belt, there is no doubt this one is going to be big. Without You is guaranteed to have you singing out loud so get keen, this is one you will want on high rotation. With the odds stacked against them in the current ‘Corona-climate’, it is refreshing to see new music still coming out – giving hope of a return to the live scene soon. Until then, crank up Without You and get on board the Among The Restless train, it will be stopping at all streaming services on the 15th August 2020. “The debut single screams attitude with its killer lyrics and catchy hooks. Add to this, dirty riffs driving drums and a weighty bassline, Someone Else will draw you in for the duration then spit you out with a big slap at its colossal climax.” – Silver  Tiger Media. “Such a good debut single! Awesome production all around excited to hear more from you guys.” – Kabir “Killer song, love it. Instantly stuck on my head!” – CH INSTAGRAM FACEBOOK  SPOTIFY APPLE MUSIC

THE RUBENS ANNOUNCE RESCHEDULED ‘LIVE IN LIFE’ TOUR DATES FOR 2021 + RELEASE LIVE IN LIFE REMIX EP FEATURING ALICE IVY, NASAYA + MORE

by the partae August 18, 2020
written by the partae
Today The Rubens have surprised fans by releasing their Live In Life Remix EP, a kaleidoscopic collection of ‘Live In Life’ remixes featuring local favourite Alice Ivy alongside international offerings by NASAYA, Pink Skies & Father Bobby Townsend. The release today is a treat to fans in light of the unfortunate second postponement of their largest headline tour to date due to COVID-19 (originally scheduled from May – July, then Sept – Dec). The new dates, taking place from April – June, 2021, will see the NSW band play metro cities for the first time since their 2018 LO LA RU album shows, across venues such as Fortitude Music Hall (Bris), Freo.Social (Freo), The Forum (Melb), and the Enmore Theatre (Syd). After having embarked on 3 regional tours in the past 18 months, the band will be revisiting some old regional favourites as well as some towns they’ve never played before, including Bundaberg, Warrnambool, Shepparton and more.

The Rubens:

“We’ve been blown away with the response to our track ‘Live In Life’, both online and the few times we got to play it live for you. For obvious reasons, unfortunately we have to reschedule the ‘Live In Life’ tour again, but as a show of thanks for your ongoing support we enlisted the help of Alice Ivy (our main support for the Live In Life Tour) for a remix, as well as alternate versions from Father Bobby Townsend, NASAYA and Pink Skies.
Hold on to your tickets if you can, as these new rescheduled dates may just become an album tour….in the meantime, blast these remixes and look after each other. Love you all. X”
The tour, presented by triple j, is in celebration of their hit single, ‘Live In Life’ – undeniably one of the biggest domestic singles of the last 12 months. Having amassed 30+ million streams across platforms, the single spent close to two months in the top 3 of Spotify’s Hot Hits Australia playlist, including 3 weeks at #1 and has become a staple of the playlist over the last 8 months. Live in Life has also spent 8 months on Apple Music’s Todays Hits and has been Shazamed 100,000+ times in Australia alone.

The band followed-up ‘Live In Life’ in a big way with the release of ‘Heavy Weather’ in April. The track was added straight to triple j, landed at #1 on Spotify’s New Music Friday and saw the band grace the coveted playlist cover, as well as tremendous support from Apple Music across New Music Daily & Today’s Hits. ‘Heavy Weather’ is all about empowerment; an anthem reminding us all to take control of the inner critic and back yourself when times get tough – a message that seems timely in this new world order.

ALICE IVY:
Melbourne-based electronic producer Alice Ivy released her debut album I’m Dreaming in February 2018 and has since performed more than 250 shows worldwide. Alice Ivy’s eclectic signature sound spans sample-influenced soul, hip-hop and electronic pop that she brings to life live as a multi-instrumentalist.
“I was so stoked to be asked by the Rubens to remix ‘Live In Life’. When I first listened to the stems and dropped them into Ableton I envisioned flipping this song into a moody house banger, I feel like I kind of achieved that?! Super stoked to have this out and to be joining them on their album tour in 2021”.

NASAYA:
NASAYA draws influence from the ethnically diverse culture of his homestead. Inspired by the breeze and easy-going nature of the French Island, his musical influence draws from jazz, dance music, pop, and even classic rock. With releases on Majestic Casual and Concord Records, NASAYA’s colourful sound is home to some of music’s finest tastemakers.
“I made this remix when I was stuck back home in Reunion Island while in lockdown.
It was quite tough for me to stay inspired and ‘productive’ at the time and working on this remix definitely helped me to stay a bit more sane – it was such a fun process and helped me to take my mind off what is going on in the world.”

PINK SKIES:
California’s Pink Skies’ sound is a genre-bending mix of psychedelic rock, pop, R&B, 70’s, electronic, hip/hop and chill- wave. Racking up credits with artists like 6LACK, Khalid, Glass Animals’ Dave Bailey and FWDSLXSH, Pink Skies is blazing a trail as an artist’s artist.
“When I first heard the track I thought it was awesome. I particularly love the line about the beer in the cellar, I’ve never heard a lyric like that in a song before. I spent a couple of days with the track, and tried to make it my own. I think I had like 5 different versions of the song, and this one felt like it had the best pocket. I’m happy that it’s out, and I hope everyone is into it!”

FATHER BOBBY TOWNSEND:
Father Bobby Townsend is a music producer, songwriter and multi-instrumentalist from Canada. He had his musical epiphany, falling in love with pop music, after discovering The 1975 on YouTube.
“I’m a sucker for slow jams so when my manager sent me the song I thought damn this is great, I’m gonna decelerate this baby. This is my late night drive in the rain remix. Big thanks to The Rubens for letting me hop on the project.”

written by the partae

Last Friday, Gianluca Vacchi and Ir Sais released their brand new track ‘Para’. The summer smash arrived right in time for the heatwaves, accompanied by their feel-good music video.

The music video was filmed in Sardinia, Italy, and directed by Curaçao based Ryan QD Navarro. Gianluca’s dance moves and reggaeton beats, Ir’s catchy vocals, and Navarro’s vision, perfectly reflect the track’s vibrant Caribbean vibes. Para has an irresistibly infectious energy that will get you dancing in no time!

About Gianluca Vacchi
Entrepreneur; social media star; DJ; producer; Gianluca Vacchi is a man who triumphs whatever he puts his hands to. His athletic, hedonistic, daredevil playboy antics on social media made him a star whose charisma people were naturally drawn to, and after amassing an enormous following he decided to follow his dreams in music. Having made his passion and commitment for music clear by announcing the launch of his DJ and production career, he has quickly become a major force in the music industry — and he’s only just getting started.

The release of “Sigamos Bailando” last year, in collaboration with Latin pop superstars Luis Fonsi and Yandel, Gianluca Vacchi already categorized him as a global DJ on the rise. With the releases of ‘Come On And Show ‘Em’ and ‘Subelo y Bajalo’ in collaboration with Nfasis, 2019 confirmed he is most definitely one to watch. This year also saw the release of phenomenal track ‘Mueve’ with non-other than Nacho, Becky G, and MC Fioti, Gianluca Vacchi is most definitely shaking up the Dance scene and is nowhere near slowing down.

About Ir Sais
Irgwin Placido Sluis also known by his stage name Ir Sais was born on September 29 on the Carribean Island of Bonaire (Netherlands Antilles). As a self-taught Musician, Ir never attended music school but he still has the ability to play many different instruments. After moving to the Netherlands in 2009 Ir Sais started working on musical projects with W.S.R Label Mostaman.

A big step in his career was when he started his own production studio working out of his home. Here he started working on his first solo album. In March 2010 he launched his first single ‘Schatje zeg maar’ (Baby Just Tell Me), which was an immediate success. This was the beginning of a new chapter.

In 2018 one particular song called “Dream Girl” caught the attention of  DJ LY Prod from Paris who used the song on his Instagram. It instantly went viral and inspired the Dream Girl TikTok Challenge which led to the song going viral worldwide. Sony Music reached out to Ir’s Manager Veikko Fuhrmann and initiated a Remix for Dream Girl with Puerto Rican superstar Rauw Alejandro.
