After the late 2019 release of his self produced EP ‘Come Alive’ which picked up nods from Spotify and even an exclusive segment on Beats1 radio, rapper/producer powerhouse Lakshane is back at it, announcing a brand new single, ‘Reload’ that will be out on all major platforms on the 29th of May.
‘Reload’, like the Melbourne rapper’s previous music, is for the hip hop lovers, boasting a vibrant chorus and lyrics full of bravado that captures the true essence of this upcoming Australian talent. The instrumentals were created by up and coming producer FRAAN, which complement the upbeat and high octane feel of the overall song.
“Reload is something I wanted to get off my chest. I feel like I allow a lot of people into my life without a wall and they take advantage of it or don’t reciprocate the love. Reload expresses my ability to reset and keep going despite these people and the other barriers I encounter”
Accompanying the release, Lakshane also premiered visuals on the 25th of May ahead of the song release. Directed by Lakshane himself with filming and editing by RMR productions, the music video is definitely a stronghold showcasing his serious comeback to the game.
He has a heavy release plan of singles for the rest of the year so this won’t be the last time you hear the name Lakshane.

We Were Trying to Make It Out was written following Neale‘s Grant McLennan fellowship win which saw him spend three months in New York City during 2018, attending songwriting masterclasses at NYU, collaborating with local writers and as it turns out, most importantly, resetting his life.
Many years stuck in a cycle of ever-changing work, relentless side-hustling and various degrees of financial ruin had taken a toll and the opportunity to escape the pressure cooker for a brief period of time helped immensely to cure the burnout.
The distance from home enabled a birds-eye view of what was and wasn’t working and enabled him to figure out what exactly he wanted from music and how the desire to create music could fit into a life worth living. Upon his return home to Brisbane, Australia, armed with new purpose and an openness to collaboration, he set to work on recording his sophomore record We Were Trying to Make It Out.
Sonically, We Were Trying to Make It Out contains Neale’s penchant for melodic hooks, delivered coherently and directly without compromise or pastiche. This is the Jeremy Neale sound – the result of years of searching and refining – honest, fully realised and immediate. Guitar pop underpinned by classic songwriting is potentially the recipe for finding oneself outside the current musical climate but is also the hallmark of creating something truly timeless.
On We Were Trying to Make It Out Neale explains the album title as the justification for the brutality you’ll put yourself through in an attempt to escape your demons.“There are a lot of sacrifices you have to make in order to create music if you’re not major label backed or independently wealthy and every mistake you make has direct consequences for your everyday quality of life.”
We Were Trying to Make It Out is a record written across two cities and two years. Early Jeremy Neale recordings might have read as a tribute to those who came before him, but here on his second record – he has found his sound and his voice.

SUPPORT FOR ‘JULIET’
“In many ways, Juliet is quintessential CREO albeit moved forward a few years, taking the pacing indie-rock rhythms that have defined their sound in the past and bringing it forward to 2020”.
– Pilerats (AUS)
“That chorus is a bull in a china shop level energy, it just bursts through the door out of nowhere and causes chaos”. – 4/5 stars
– Declan Byrne – triple j (AUS)
“Don’t think CREO can make a song that’s not epic in scale and energy. Just doesn’t seem possible! There’s a little glam power thrown into the strong brew here.”. – 4/5 stars
– Dave Ruby Howe – triple j (AUS)
Added to Spotify playlist Rock Out. And Fresh Finds: Rock
Following the release of their critically-praised single ‘Juliet’, Sydney-based indie-rock trio CREO have returned with the accompanying video clip – directed by Murli Dhir.
Filmed at Innerfit Gym in Sydney’s Leichardt using a blacked-out spin classroom, the clip sees an impassioned performance from the trio, with the use of full-length mirrors and various lighting triggers. Superbly shot on a Super 8 Camera, including the use of kaleidoscope lenses, the video oozes retro resemblances, as well as the animation of lyrics from lead singer Jorjee Haman’s original lyric sheet.
Jorjee talks about the process behind ‘Juliet’:
“The clip is a reintroduction of the band as a new entity (three-piece). The music has taken a slightly different direction, so we really wanted to symbolise that by the use of the mirrors thus creating a visual of different angles to how people would usually hear or see CREO. We tried to tie this in with an editing style that plays on the song’s nostalgic 80’s sound by using various dated cameras, and postproduction techniques”.
Since release, the track has seen extensive support from Spotify, triple j Unearthed, Pilerats, Indie Obsessive (USA), Analogue Track (UK), ParapOp (IND), Forte Magazine, Something You Said and Australian community radio.
In the live arena, the band have toured extensively across Australia, selling out their own headline shows and sharing stages alongside Nothing But Thieves (UK), Minus The Bear (USA), British India, Last Dinosaurs, Tired Lion, Polish Club and Bad//Dreems, including playing iconic Australian event Falls Festival.
‘Juliet’ is available worldwide now
FOLLOW CREO
On Wednesday May 27 7PM CEST, Dutch techno giant Reinier Zonneveld will do an exceptional livestream from his own sunny roof terrace with a stunning view over Amsterdam. What makes the livestream even more special, is that Reinier will perform a lot of long anticipated brand-new music live.
While being in lockdown, he has used the time to get creative in the studio. Reinier says: “As I usually am touring around the world from gig to gig, and now being confined at home for such a long period, it meant there were certain different approaches in my creative process. Usually I used to get my inspiration from performances and travels that I just experienced and now I had to imagine the dancefloor or get my inspiration from different sources. It also gave me the opportunity to work more in depth and experiment more with the hardware and synths I’ve got in my studio, simply because now I had the time to do it, instead of composing new music on the plane.”
One of the tracks that will pass by is Reiniers upcoming remix of the acclaimed classic ‘The First Rebirth’ by Jones & Stephenson, which will be out next month on his own label Filth On Acid in cooperation with the iconic Bonzai Records.
Make sure to tune in via Reinier’s Facebook page.

Hayden James:
It took award-winning music producer Hayden James one song to become a sound of the Australian summer. ‘Something About You’, released in the heat of December 2014 by Future Classic, lit up the pop music scene and gained Gold Certification in Australia. Today the artist’s electronic pop music has hooked a global audience on his sound, with a collection that has amassed over half a billion streams.
Following the release of ‘Something About You’, Hayden James played sold out venues world-wide while producing tracks for Katy Perry. October 2017 marked the release of ‘Numb’ featuring GRAACE, which scored Platinum certification in Australia and landed at #32 on Triple J’s Hottest 100.
Hit singles “Better Together” featuring Running Touch and ‘Just Friends’ featuring singer Boy Matthews sealed 2018 as Hayden James’ break out year, leading into his long-awaited debut album ‘Between Us’ in June 2019 cemented Hayden as one of Australia’s most influential pop producers, leading to an ARIA Nomination for Best Male Artist.
DJ Boring
Following a stand-out set at Untitled Group’s Pitch Music & Arts earlier this year and having one of the most watched Boiler Room’s of 2019, Dj Boring joins the Virtual Day Party lineup being filmed from the Avalon Airport Hangar. DJ BORING aka Tristan Hallis could be the most ironically named performer today: energetic journeys into forgotten gems and future classics, nothing about what he does is boring.
Lastlings
In 2018, the mystique surrounding Lastlings expanded as their live show caught the attention of Australian electronic heavyweights RÜFÜS DU SOL, signing the duo to their newly founded label Rose Avenue Records, and welcoming three substantial singles that included ‘Deja Vu’, ‘I’ve Got You’ and ‘Last Breath’. Previously selling out Australian headline tours, supporting the likes of Two Door Cinema Club and RÜFÜS DU SOL, while earning spots on esteemed music events; Coachella’s DoLaB and Splendour In The Grass and Beyond The Valley, Amy and Josh are no strangers to the world’s biggest stages.
Made in Paris
Closing 2019 with her most anticipated single ‘Pursuit’, Made in Paris has dominated radio with full rotation and 100+ spins on Triple J, taking top 30 positions weekly on the Australian Shazam Chart and adds to Spotify editorial playlists globally. From her three USA tours to Australia’s most acclaimed warehouses alongside Stephan Bodzin on his 2019 Australian tour, Pitch Music Festival, Beyond The Valley and Splendour In The Grass, the Sydney artist depicts a true deep and dark production journey from studio to stage. Paris has entrapped enthusiasts within the industry from Maceo Plex and Township Rebellion to Joseph Capriati’s techno allure, with a globally acclaimed Mixmag, BBC Radio 1 and her most recent Triple J Mix Up Residency, making her a solid staple.
Cassettes For Kids
Cassettes for Kid’s trademark blend of high energy house, breaks has seen a swift trajectory to the forefront of local dance music. He’s already dominated festival stages at Pitch Music and Arts, Strawberry Fields, Lost Paradise, Duke Street Block Party as well as headlining Australia’s best clubs – XE54, Universal & more. An extremely trusted selector, he has warmed dancefloors for the likes of Denis Sulta, DJ Koze, KiNK, KETTAMA, HAAi, Black Loops, ANNA, John Talabot and many more.
Adult Art Club
Mysterious Australian duo Adult Art Club have been teasing local experimental electro dance fans with some rare gems released sporadically over the past few years. Low slung, sinister vibes, soul shifting drops and crunchy samples bring an earthy vibe to the floor, with earth shaking lows and psychedelic highs, this duo are like manna from heaven for the more adventurous dance floor dwellers around the country. A treat for this year’s Beyond The Valley, Adult Art Club will have the sold out masses vibrating hard to their dank minimalism.
Thank you.
Untitled Group would like to thank our videographers, photographers, production and suppliers who all contributed to making these streams come together.

Where are you currently based and what is the music scene like there?
I’m based in Sydney, my lifelong hometown. Sydney has been “up and down” I think over the past decade or so in terms of its music scene. There was a real golden era in the 90s where every pub was full of bands playing and crowds gathering, with some great bands emerging. Things hit a bit of a brick wall a bit after that though, with venues closing and pokies ruling the pubs, but I think there’s been a gradual resurgence, with small bars opening and lots of interesting opportunities to play. “Pre-pandemic” things were building nicely, I felt. Maybe that will continue once things normalise somewhat/somehow, but it’s obviously all up in the air right now.
How did you first start playing music?
My father was a big band leader back in the Big Band era of the mid-20th century. He had my brother and I late in life and so we were brought up by going to gigs around the world when he was playing, with music was always “there” for us. But when my brother and I first started playing, we were heavily into early punk music, the Clash, the Pistols etc, and we started playing in bands in our home area of Bondi as a natural extension of that. The surf movies we loved all had epic soundtracks and we loved playing stuff in that vibe, kind of coastal-guitar-punk, with Midnight Oil thrown into the mix.
What’s been happening recently?
We’ve all been laying pretty low due to COVID so have been taking stock and trying to stay healthy and not drink too much and get ready for the release of the new compilation, which has been in the pipeline for several years.
‘The Songs Of Adam Gibson’ is coming out on 29 May 2020, please tell us about this album and how it came about:
This record is a double vinyl / double CD release that compiles a swathe of stuff I’ve written and played with my three main bands from over the past 20 or so years. It gathers together a “best-of” really and puts ‘em all together on one release, being released by legend Brisbane label Coolin’ By Sound. I’ve been involved with up to 10 different albums over the years with Modern Giant, The Aerial Maps and the Ark-Ark Birds and this release plucks tracks from all of those bands and whacks them together as a cohesive overview. It’s been mooted for bloody ages but has just taken a while to get together, so I’m stoked it’s finally ready to come out.
What or who influences your sound, songwriting/lyrics?
My whole idea is basically “storytelling with music” combined with articulating a sense of particular landscapes, so I am naturally drawn to people who have that storytelling aspect to their music, or are able to create a “landscape” that speaks to a place and space. Midnight Oil were an early key influence, with bands like the Triffids, Not Drowning Waving also being important. Then there’s the punk rock sensibility of The Clash and Joe Strummer, combined with evocative emotional heft of the likes of Joni Mitchell and Tom Waits. The latter being important because I essentially do “spoken word”, similar or at least influenced by a lot of Tom Waits’ stuff.
How do you usually go about writing music?
I create a kind of emotional or psychological landscape of what a song might be about and I work with people such as my brother Simon Gibson or the likes of fellow Aerial Map-pers Alannah Russack, Pete Fenton and Mark Hyland to create the music around that. Over the years I have developed a pretty punk rock way of working, not overthinking anything and just getting it done, and the people I’ve worked with over the years have really responded to that.
What do you have planned for this album?
We plan to tour as The Aerial Maps in general support of this record but god knows when that will be able to happen. In a weird way, the pandemic has allowed us to concentrate on getting the album out and not have to worry too much about the touring aspect just yet, so it’s quite ok really.
What do you like to do away from music?
I’m a journalist and copywriter so I manage to eke out a living by doing that to the best of my energy and ability. Surfing and travel are also central to my life so if I can manage to do a surf trip on a regular basis, things are good.
Who are you listening to at the moment?
A disparate selection really, ranging from Laura Marling’s latest album to things like early Big Audio Dynamite – one of my favourite bands – plus some Americana, things like Sun Kil Moon and Smog. Pretty all over the place but that’s Covid living for ya!
What’s planned for 2020?
Basically to get the album out, survive, surf some good waves, tell stories, be happy if possible.
Favourite food and place to hangout?
I am somewhat reclusive right at the moment so I stick fairly close to my home neighbourhood, so pretty much the local RSL is my go-to of choice (when it’s open!) But I do tend to bust out every time I can and travel to favourite spots overseas. My brother now lives in Bali so I have a good place to stay and hang out there – that’s always a great place to escape to overall and also a good place to write songs in general.

Message from Parkway Drive
To all our Aussie fans,
It may come as no surprise to you that the Viva The Underdogs Australian Revolution Tour will need to be postponed. Given the current situation with Coronavirus (COVID-19) and the various restrictions State and Federal Governments have put in place, it is literally impossible for the tour to go on in June 2020.
We have rescheduled the shows for July 2021 and are stoked that both Hatebreed and Every Time I Die will still be joining us then.
Thank you for your patience in these testing times and we promise it will be worth the wait when this tour gets back up and running next year.

To celebrate the release of MorningMaxwell’s new single ‘Complications’, MorningMaxwell will be conducting a 2-week campaign with the Partae celebrating the topline over alternative beats (One new beat a day) from samples the legend has recorded around his house.
Kaskade and Project 46 once again joined forces for their new track “Chains,” a cathartic sonic journey through the myriad of emotions that are so prevalent in our lives today. It begins with angelic vocals crooning the line “Running out of ways to run away, I cover it up, but I can’t escape,” setting the stage for a progression of gentle melodies and rolling basslines into a bouncy, big-room influenced climax. “Chains” pulls at the heartstrings of anyone who has felt trapped or restrained in life, either by others or themselves. By the time the track’s drop comes, it’s as if the chains themselves have been released, and the weight has been lifted. “Chains” is Kaskade & Project 46’s follow up single to 2013’s “Last Chance,” the opening track from Kaskade’s “Atmosphere” album and Project 46’s most-streamed single to date.
As a household name in electronic music for nearly two decades, Kaskade needs no introduction. His list of achievements is a mile long: 11 studio albums, 7 GRAMMY nominations, the first solo electronic dance artist to sell out both Navy Pier in Chicago and the Staples Center in Los Angeles, the first DJ to ever secure a Las Vegas residency, and the first electronic artist to headline Coachella. Less tangible but even more important has been his influence on dance music tastes and culture for generations of listeners. Often Kaskade is one of the artists who introduced now-veteran listeners to the genre, and such fans are usually fans for life. In 2019, he worked with multi-award winner Meghan Trainor on “With You” and Gorgon City on “Go Slow,” among solo releases, such as “My Light,” “Come On,” and official remixes for the likes of Alicia Keys, Jennifer Lopez, and Gwen Stefani earlier.
Canadian duo Ryan Henderson and Thomas Shaw, better known as Project 46, is known for their melodic, progressive sound that never fails to inspire and uplift listeners. They began Project 46 in 2011 and were active until 2016, with releases on Ultra Records, Monstercat, Armada, Mixmash, and collaborations such as “Last Chance” with Kaskade, “Collide” with Laidback Luke, “Crime” with Avicii, “Daphne” with Paul Oakenfold, and “Home” with Feenixpawl, to name a few. 2020 marks the comeback of Project 46, and we are looking forward to more beautiful, vocal-driven dance tracks coming from the talented duo later this year!
JOIN THE JOY CLUB
Inspired by the changing decades of Dance Culture and widely regarded as an original cornerstone house and TECHNO legend (we don’t use that title flippantly), the Jersey DJ Harry ‘Choo Choo’ Romero remixes Joy Club’s ‘In The Night’. Giving it a distinct stomping underground and fluid house rerub, Romero treads a fine line between house and techno – something of a signature sound for the internationally respected artist.
This is Harry Romero at his best – stripped down tough and bouncy house groves, a track that oozes quality, much like the artist himself who has released classic club cuts like ‘Tania’, ‘Night @ The Black’ and ‘I Go Back’ with Robert Owens. He has also worked for decades with Erick Morillo’s Subliminal label, has released on many imprints including Crosstown Rebels and Hot Creations, and is supported by almost every DJ from Luciano to Danny Tenaglia and everyone in-between.
The Joy Club ‘In The Night’ original continues to grow with over 3.5 million streams across all platforms to date, received support from BBC Radio 1 and Kiss FM and is included in a host of influential power playlists across Spotify and Apple Music. With a new colourful and fun video to drop in the coming weeks, this track is capturing the imagination of the masses.
