Artists: Riot Ten Title: Hype Or Die: Emergence EP Label: Dim Mak Records Release date: June 12, 2020 Download / Stream Bass heavyweight Riot Ten flexes his versatility on the 7-track EP, "Hype or Die: Emergence." Featuring a VIP mix of festival anthem "Rail Breaker" and collaborations alongside DIESEL (aka Shaquille O'Neal), Whales, and Bok Nero, the EP presents a mature palette of sounds, blending future bass, hardstyle and Latin instrumentation amongst his signature dubstep drops. The Emergence EP is Riot Ten's first multi-track release since his successful "Hype or Die: Nightmares" studio album and the subsequent deluxe package, which followed last year. It arrives off the heels of his recent performance at one of the first car raves in North America last month in Houston, TX. New tracks "Bring It Back" with DirtySnatcha and "Buck" featuring Bok Nero each integrate elements of dubstep and trap, complete with grimy, heavy bass, and serrating mechanical synths. "Ultimate" is a heavy-hitting collaboration with basketball legend DIESEL (aka Shaquille O'Neal) and viral Houston rapper T-Wayne. "Narcos" with Madreckless contains the pulsating tempo of psytrance fused with bass elements. "Save You" sees Riot Ten team up with Whales and his cousin Megan Stokes for a rich, future bass original, showcasing a softer side to his sound. As a special treat, he closes the EP with VIP renditions of "Save You" and "Rail Breaker," the latter of which remains a fan favorite around the world, boasting over 7 million on-demand streams. Wielding plenty of chaotic bass nuances, the EP lives in the same "Hype or Die" underworld, but with a heightened sense of urgency. "I wanted to create something that was different from my previous bodies of work, yet still embodied that "Hype Or Die" aura. I named my EP 'Emergence,' due to the chaos in the world now coming to light. It is symbolic of how many have felt for some time now..and so we have risen. I stand in solidarity with those fighting injustice." - Riot Ten  Born and raised in El Paso, TX, Riot Ten exploded into the world of EDM at the young age of 22. Joining the Dim Mak Records family in 2017, with additional music out on Never Say Die, Insomniac, Bassrush and Excision's "Rottun Records", Riot Ten blasted off with four #1 top 100 dubstep singles and his music can be heard around the world from the likes of DJ Snake, Zeds Dead, The Chainsmokers, Excision and many more. The 2017 single "Fuck It" became a staple on The Chainsmokers' "Memories Do Not Open" tour. This success helped pave the way for "Rail Breaker", his global smash in 2017, to become one of the most played out dubstep songs of the last decade. The single continues to see support at nearly every major festival from the biggest names in dance music. Following the release of "Rail Breaker", Riot Ten dropped his debut EP with DIM MAK called Hype Or Die: The Dead in 2018, which recorded a top 10 debut on the iTunes "dance album" charts, a feat seldom seen by an artist in the genre. He recorded another top 10 debut on the iTunes charts in 2019 with his debut album Hype Or Die: Nightmares. Outside of the music, Riot Ten has continued to record sell-out shows domestically and internationally, touring the infamous "Hype Or Die" brand for its 2nd straight year. He has also played EDC Las Vegas, Coachella, Nocturnal Wonderland, Electric Zoo, EDC Mexico, Lost Lands, EDC Orlando, Global Dance Festival, Electric Forest, Bass Canyon, Imagine Music Festival and more. HANDS LIKE HOUSES UNVEIL NEW SINGLE + VIDEO ‘SPACE’

by the partae June 16, 2020
written by the partae
Image: Micala Austin

After premiering via triple j’s Good Nights last night, Australian rock favourites Hands Like Houses are officially lifting the lid on their new single and video ‘Space’ today.

Vocalist Trenton Woodley explains that ‘Space’ captures a particularly mentally and spatially suffocating time for the band experience while recording. Trenton personally found himself going through the motions, grappling with exhaustion, trying to push ahead ahead and ultimately feeling as though he was coming up short of others’ expectations. Lyrically and sonically, the track captures a literal cry for the breathing space he needed.

“I think the song really captures that pressure we felt having to refine our raw ideas and work through our differences in taste and personality while recording,” he says.

“It’s strange that that sense of emotional claustrophobia has fast-forwarded to this literal one with COVID-19. Since we tracked it, I haven’t actually read the lyrics written down until now and there’s a strange sense of deja vu, like I wrote them yesterday, with full knowledge of everything that’s happened in the last few months.”

He finishes by noting: “I wanted it to feel tired, not hopeless, worn out but not ready to give up just yet. I didn’t want it to sound like I’d stopped trying. I wanted it to feel like coming out of a long silence, to say ‘please be patient. I can get this right. I just need a little faith, a little trust, and a little bit of space to get myself back together.’”

Directed by Rhys Graham and produced by Jensen Cope, the ‘Space’ music video draws on the single’s artwork and the lyrical themes of isolation and communication. The clip paints a cinematic portrait of a young woman’s meandering journey as she seeks to take her life in a new direction.

“Our character stops off at a couple of isolated motels which lead us into the world of the band….it all very much reflects the idea of the isolation that we’ve all just experienced,” Rhys explains.

“We also used a deaf actor to reflect the ways that separation or a different way of communicating is not necessarily a lack of freedom, it’s just a different way of doing things that we are used to. That very much ties in with the emotional space in the song.”

‘Space’ by Hands Like Houses is out now on all services.

SHANNEN JAMES ANNOUNCES DEBUT EP ARROWS – OUT FRIDAY 25 SEPTEMBER + RELEASES TITLE TRACK

by the partae June 16, 2020
written by the partae
Ivy League Records is extremely proud to announce that Arrows, the debut EP from one of the country’s most exciting new songwriters, Shannen James, will be released on Friday 25 September! The 6-track collection includes Shannen’s first two singles ‘Collide’, her 2019 debut, ‘Something In The Water’, and the bright title track and new single, out everywhere today. ‘Arrows’ (single) received its world premiere on Sunday night by Richard Kingsmill on triple j’s 2020.
Listen to ‘Arrows’ (single) here
Dancing between vulnerable verses and a big singalong chorus, ‘Arrows’ is a striking guitar-pop moment. Both sun-drenched and melancholic, ‘Arrows’ threads memories of introspection together into a road-trip ready, empowering anthem, showcasing Shannen as an extremely powerful song-writing force.

Of the track, Shannen says,

“Arrows is an introspective song reflecting on my own dreams and ambitions and how uncertain it can be navigating through life to achieve them. I wrote this at a time where some of my friendships were falling away, as well as being really unsure in myself and what lies ahead, but at the same time knowing I was heading in the right direction. The idea of using arrows as a metaphor ended up being the core of the song; it’s about persisting with what it is you want regardless and knowing that you get more than one shot, it might just take a few goes before something sticks.”
Recorded with up-and-coming producer and good friend Dylan Nash (Dean Lewis, Angus and Julia Stone) in a home studio on the outskirts of Melbourne, Arrows EP is a quietly confident collection of songs, written by Shannen over the course of a few months. The EP is a fantastic introduction into Shannen’s sparkling world, where pop is reimagined into something brimming with substance, warmth and of course, catharsis.

Of the EP, Shannen says:

“I think there’s an eclectic quality to these songs that allow my different influences to push through at certain times. It captures a sense of nostalgia for me that shares little snapshots of moments in time. Arrows was recorded in a tiny little home studio that was surrounded by big native trees and lots of bird noises and not a whole lot else. The studio itself was pretty tiny and that made me feel really connected to what I was making.”
‘Arrows’ follows Shannen’s recent single ‘Collide’ and her debut ‘Something in the Water’, both of which were embraced by both new fans and radio & streaming platforms – with adds across triple j, triple j unearthed and to-date, over 800,000 Spotify streams. Shannen has supported artists such as G Flip, Men I Trust & CLEWS.

BUDDY SHARES NEW SONG 'BLACK 2'

BUDDY SHARES NEW SONG ‘BLACK 2’

by the partae June 15, 2020
written by the partae

Buddy by Jack Mckain

PRAISE FOR BUDDY

“One of this year’s brightest insurgents”
The New Yorker

“Buddy is crossing generations, building new paths”
The New York Times

“an emerging artist to be reckoned with”
NPR

“Buddy’s knack for filling up empty space in bursts like this shows he can more than carry a song all his own”
Pitchfork

Buddy shares new single ‘Black 2’, listen to it HERE. The track is the sequel to ‘Black’ featuring A$AP Ferg from his 2018 debut album Harlan & Alondra, which he performed on The Late Late Show with James Corden alongside Ferg last year. Like its predecessor, which The FADER called an “infectious black pride anthem,” ‘Black 2’ is a hard-hitting cut that shines a light on society’s malignant appropriation of Black culture while also uncovering their silence when it comes to protecting Black lives. In the midst of the Black Lives Matter movement and the protests that have sprouted across the world to eradicate the systemic racism that permeates today, ‘Black 2’ is a reminder of the power and beauty of Black voices for the continuous fight ahead.

‘Black 2’ continues a momentous past few months for Buddy that have poised him to become one of the year’s greatest breakout stars. Last year, he released the deluxe edition of his critically-acclaimed album Harlan & Alondra, joined Vince Staples on an explosive North American tour, performed at NPR’s Tiny Desk, The Late Late Show with James Corden and The Tonight Show with Jimmy Fallon. The same year, Buddy also played a major role in the Grammy-nominated Revenge of the Dreamers III album, featuring on seven tracks on the Director’s Cut version including fan favorites ‘Costa Rica’ and ‘1993’. Most recently, he teamed up with fellow LA rapper Kent Jamz in April for Janktape Vol.1 which NPR called “one of the best collab tapes of 2020 so far”.

Listen to ‘Black 2‘ and stay tuned for more from Buddy coming soon.

‘Black 2‘ by Buddy is out now, buy it/stream it here.

OCEAN ALLEY SHARE SPICY TAKE ON ISO-COOKING THEIR THIRD ALBUM LONELY DIAMOND IS OUT FRIDAY + TRIPLE J FEATURE ALBUM THIS WEEK

“one of the nation’s most revered bands” – Life Without Andy

“a rich, expansive universe that’ll delight longtime fans and newcomers alike.” – NME Australia

Australian masters of groove Ocean Alley have shared their own spicy take on iso-cooking tutorials, with inspiration from their recent single ‘Hot Chicken’. The deep fried clip comes ahead of their third album Lonely Diamond dropping this Friday, nabbing the highly-coveted triple j Feature Album this week.

Pre-order the album here.

Drawing from the nostalgia of music eras past, Lonely Diamond combines 70s guitar rock, country and western, old school funk and synth-heavy new wave to create a deeply contemplative and atmospheric odyssey. Following from 2018’s Chiaroscuro, the album feels like a natural and seamless progression – there’s an ingrained familiarity from the first listen – all the elements that define Ocean Alley’s sound are there, but more intricately arranged; new instruments are introduced, the production is pushed to new limits and the band has created complete synergy between each track.

From its sprawling opening notes, album opener ‘Dahlia’ mystically sets the scene with an intergalactic introduction, immediately signifying elements of exploration and ‘the unknown’. The introspective title-track ‘Lonely Diamond’ engulfs the listener in a wave of melancholy before finding purpose with warmth and tenderness, while the bright and dreamy ‘Up In There’ creates an uplifting sense of hopefulness and reassurance that everything will be okay. As the record continues, the expansive soundscape grows and conquers, ‘Puesta de Sol’ and ‘Luna’ transporting the listener to the middle of a dusty stand-off in a state of isolation and emptiness.

Produced by long-time collaborator Callum Howell at the idyllic Grove Studios (built by INXS’ Garry Gary Beers), Lonely Diamond follows the success of Ocean Alley’s acclaimed second full-length LP Chiaroscuro. With its infectious blend of psychedelic surf-rock, the record propelled the band into national prominence and saw them sell 25,000 tickets over 15 sold out shows that year in Australia alone – culminating with their ARIA nominated, double platinum-selling single ‘Confidence’ taking out #1 in triple j’s Hottest 100 of 2018. Their breakthrough year was backed-up with 30 sold out shows around the world in 2019, plus major festival appearances at Reading & Leeds Festival (UK), Splendour In The Grass (AUS), Sziget (HU), BottleRock (US) and more, with the band amassing more than 260 million streams to date.

Parlour Gigs - Bringing Back Live Music

Parlour Gigs – Bringing Back Live Music

by the partae June 15, 2020
written by the partae

“I’m really excited to be using the Parlour platform in a time where regular gigs are off the cards. The opportunity to play smaller shows at people’s homes is such a great way to adapt to the times.” – Ali Barter

Parlour is an online platform that allows artists to tour directly into their fan’s homes.
Since launching in 2015, Parlour has facilitated over 2000 gigs around the world with artists such as Ben Lee, Sarah Blasko, Dallas Frasca, Sarah McLeod, Chris Cheney (The Living End), Robert Forster and Harry James Angus.  Gigs have limited numbers and offer a unique experience to both artists and fans to make and appreciate music within the familiar setting of a home.

Now, as we approach a world emerging from the COVID-19 crisis, a return to regular touring for artists will still be a while away. Small capacity shows in fan’s homes will be a safe, controlled way of reintroducing live music into the public sphere. Parlour is a way for artists to start playing, earning and connecting with their fans again.

Beyond just making these gigs easy to put together, Parlour provides a way for fans to directly support their musicians and the Australian Music industry, with 83% of each show’s ticket sales going direct to the artist’s pocket.
It’s a way for artists to expand their revenue options, whilst building and connecting with their fanbase.
Artists/managers can sign up and start booking gigs almost immediately, and fans can campaign to request artists to play shows too.

With lockdown laws gradually easing across the country, now is the time to book your favorite artist to play in your home, and help the music industry to get back on its feet.

Tours on the horizon so far are Ali Barter, Busby Marou and the Pierce Brothers, with many more to come! If you are an artist/manager wanting to arrange a tour or one off show, click here: www.parlourgigs.com

If you want to see who is touring with Parlour, click here

“Parlour has always been a good way to directly connect with fans but in the wake of COVID Parlour could be a life line in the rebuild of the music business while we wait for pubs and clubs to re-open. People are busting for action.” – Sarah Mcleod

“It was genuinely exciting to connect with different communities on their home turf and to be reminded of the tender role songs can play in people’s lives.” – Ben Lee

“I love using Parlour. I’ve used it to offset touring costs in both Australia and the US, and perhaps most importantly to build and connect with my fanbase.
Parlour shows will be the first live performances for me when the time is right to emerge from our cocoons. We really don’t know how things like flight costs and venue restrictions will impact traditional touring yet, and we don’t know how comfortable people will be with big crowds. But we do know that rocking up to someone’s backyard and having a great time will be an option very soon, and a really important income earning opportunity for musicians.” – Bobby Alu

“I’ve played some fantastic Parlour shows, and I really enjoyed each one. Small gatherings in a homely environment is the perfect setting for musicians to share their music during this rebuilding phase.” – Sally Seltmann

THIRD MAN RECORDS ANNOUNCES THE STOOGES' LIVE AT GOOSE LAKE: AUGUST 8TH, 1970
Music News

THIRD MAN RECORDS ANNOUNCES THE STOOGES’ LIVE AT GOOSE LAKE: AUGUST 8TH, 1970 OUT ON VINYL, CD AND DIGITAL ON AUGUST 7, 2020 SHARES LIVE VERSION OF “T.V. EYE” PREVIOUSLY-UNHEARD SOUNDBOARD RECORDING OF THE ORIGINAL STOOGES LINEUP’S FINAL PERFORMANCE AT GOOSE LAKE FESTIVAL

by the partae June 15, 2020
written by the partae
Third Man Records is excited to announce The Stooges‘ Live At Goose Lake: August 8, 1970. This previously-unheard, high-quality soundboard recording of the original Stooges lineup’s final performance — recorded just before the release of their earthshaking 1970 album Fun House — will be available on vinyl, CD and digital on August 7, 2020, nearly 50 years to the day after the performance. Hear “T.V. Eye – Radio Edit” HERE, and pre-save the album HERE.

The audio was lovingly restored by Vance Powell (The White Stripes, Chris Stapleton) and mastered by Bill Skibbe at Third Man Mastering, and liner notes were written by Jaan Uhelzski (Creem Magazine). There will be two limited-edition colored vinyl variants available as well — the Rough Trade version will be on purple-colored vinyl with a standard LP jacket, and the indie exclusive version will be on cream-colored vinyl with a screen-printed LP jacket. Pre-order the album on CD HERE and vinyl HERE.

The apocryphal tale of the Stooges performance at the Goose Lake Festival has been told countless times  over  the  past  five  decades.  Bassist  Dave  Alexander,  due  to  nerves  or  overindulgence  or  whatever  you  choose  to  fill  in  the  blank,  absolutely  spaces  in  front  of  200,000  attendees.  He  does not play a single note on stage. He is summarily fired by Iggy Pop immediately following the gig. Here starts the beginning of the end of the Stooges.

But  what  if  that  simply… wasn’t  the  case?  What  if  you  could  prove  otherwise?  Well,  it’d  be  the  proto-punk equivalent of having an immediate, on-the-scene, man on the street report of all those folkies  booing  Dylan’s  electric  set  at  Newport  in  ‘65.  Irrefutable  evidence  of  what  ACTUALLY  went down.

Found buried in the basement of a Michigan farmhouse amongst other tasty analog artifacts of the same era, the 1/4” stereo two-track  tape  of  the  Stooges  complete  performance  at  Goose  Lake on August 8th, 1970 is the Rosetta Stone for fans of this seminal band.

Not only is this the last ever performance of the original godhead Stooges line-up, but it is the ONLY known soundboard recording of said line-up. Playing the entirety of their canonical 1970 masterpiece Fun House, the sound, the performance, everything about this record is revelatory.

Would you believe that… Alexander actually DID play bass on this occasion? Or that, despite grievous failures on some songs, Alexander is damn solid on others? Especially on the bass-led songs “Dirt” and “Fun House”? Does Iggy provoke the crowd to tear down festival barriers? Did the powers that be pull the plug on the Stooges? So many questions are answered only to have more arise.

Released to coincide with the 50th anniversary of the performance, Live at Goose Lake: August 8th 1970,  is  the  rare  release  that  literally  rewrites  the  history  of  these  Rock  and  Roll  Hall of Fame inductees.

On Saturday July 4th, Glasgow’s Platform 18 invite you to join an online stream headlined by Jackmaster b2b Domenic Cappello, Frazi.er, Maria Airam b2b Lunarplatz and founder Ivan Kutz. The stream will be raising funds for the charity Scottish Association for Mental Health, who Platform 18 have worked with from the start, and is a great way to come together and forget whatever woes you may have during these strange times.
The stream runs from 4pm until 9pm and plays out on the same day that this year’s festival was meant happen with world class headliners Richie Hawtin, Floorplan, Fjaak (live), ANNA and more all playing one visually spectacular main stage in a unique urban setting.
Platform 18 offers something new and fresh for Glaswegian house and techno lovers and has done since 2013. It comes from the mind of a promoter who has been putting on events for over 12 years and gives you an intimate connection with DJs: everything is set up so the raver and DJ are in sync, the selectors can join punters in the crowd for hugs and even high fives during set and they have done many times in the past, which always makes this a very special and standout occasion.
While this stream won’t replace the main event, it is a great way to connect with likeminded raves, from the safety of your own home, and hear some cutting edge electronic music by some masters of the form.

SESSION VICTIM RELEASE ‘NEEDLEDROP REMIXED’ FEATURING LAURENCE GUY & PATRICE SCOTT JACKMATE, DDAY ONE AND PANORAM ALSO PROVIDE REMIXES

by the partae June 15, 2020
written by the partae

Following the release of the ‘Needledrop’ album in March, Session Victim today unveil ‘Needledrop Remixed’, featuring Laurence Guy, Jackmate (aka Soulphiction), Patrice Scott, Dday One and Panoram. First announced in May with Patrice Scott’s remix of ‘Isle of Taste’, the full ‘Needledrop Remixed’ EP is out now via ‘Night Time Stories’

“For the remix EP of our album ‘Needledrop’, we got 5 artists on board who play and work in quite different areas and genres but all have had a substantial impact on us, musically and/or personally over the years.” – Session Victim

Expanding upon the album’s blend of jazz, electronic and downtempo, each of the remixers instill their own production styles to reimagine one of underground music’s most intriguing and genre-crossing acts into a new listening experience. From Laurence Guy’s melodic yet driving remix of ‘Needledrop’, to Jackmate’s transformation of ‘Still High’ into 5-minute, experimental rework, ‘Needledrop Remixed’ continues to reaffirm the original album as Session Victim’s most eclectic LP to date.

With each remixer personally selected by Session Victim, the EP channels a deeper exploration of the album. Patrice Scott 90’s influenced take on ‘Isle Of Taste’ is a longer and more contemporary offering, whilst Dday One’s remix of ‘Jazzbeat 7’ adds a sinuous saxophone solo to fully embrace the experimental spirit of the original. The neo-jazz feel of ‘No Sky, Blue Sound’ is flipped to a slower tempo by Panoram, yet retains the explorative guitar solo heard on the album.

Released in March, ‘Needledrop’ is Session Victim’s anticipated 11-track album. With industry support from the likes of CRACK, Dummy, Mixmag, DJ Mag, Resident Advisor, XLR8R and more, the album was released on ‘Night Time Stories’, the London based sister label to the coveted ‘LateNightTales’. Marking a notable shift towards the downtempo dynamic of artists like Nightmares on Wax, DJ Shadow and Portishead, ‘Needledrop’ provides a suite of both uplifting and easy-listening moments, refined and understated individually, yet cohesively crafted with the honest musicianship and inarguable credentials that we know of the production duo Session Victim.

‘Needledrop’ focuses on a large arsenal of influences across long-forgotten vinyl, 90’s computer games and beyond, rediscovering the intuitive and playful sides of their production personalities, while also demonstrating their cherished music knowledge.

Session Victim’s ‘Needledrop’ album is available to stream and purchase here.

Album Review Quotes:

“They continue to bring a sense of style and musicality that’s uncommon among similar house music acts.” – Resident Advisor

“The musicianship showcased here is the type you’d associate with life-long session players.” – DJ Mag

“Gilles Peterson and OG Roots fans will love how Session Victim have avoided the 4/4 lure’- Mixmag

“Needledrop shows the Duo Session Victim in a wonderfully rested form, but also playing around like never before.” – Groove

Tracklist:

  1. Session Victim – Needledrop (Laurence Guy Remix)
  2. Session Victim – Still High – (Jackmate’s Juke Rework)
  3. Session Victim – Isle of Taste (Patrice Scott Remix)
  4. Session Victim – Jazzbeat 7 (Dday One Remix)
  5. Session Victim – No Sky, Blue Sound (Panoram Rework)

MDLBEAST is a global creative platform setting the tone for music, art and culture in the Middle East. Their flagship annual event, Soundstorm, was the region’s largest festival to date, with the world’s largest ever festival stage, and had an attendance of 400,000 people over three days. In a notable evolution from previous years, the event brought quality underground music out of the local shadows and into the global spotlight, forever changing the scene and inspiring the next generation, bridging gaps between cultures and offering opportunities for collaboration and representation of regional and international talents under one umbrella.

Expanding these core values of spreading joy through music, arts and culture to the world, Freqways will be a borderless online festival and virtual travel experience where movement is unlimited despite us all being in lockdown. It will bring people together from diverse backgrounds and unite through the common language of music, so once virtual travellers get their boarding pass, they will head to any one of the three carefully conceived boarding gates (stages) and prepare for take off, all from the comfort of their own home.

Adding to the immersive and escapist theme of air travel, MDLBEAST-branded merch is available before, during and after the event in a Duty Free-style area that perfectly compliments the flight experience.

Ahmad Alammary, Chief Creative Officer says “The music industry in the region is raw and the merging of neo-culture and technology creates a new buzz, inspiring young musicians to create fresh, unexpected music. MLDBEAST is here to celebrate that… Music and art are universal. A language that can bring people together, inspiring new thriving, creative communities.”

On Saturday July 25 and Sunday July 26, Tomorrowland is organising Tomorrowland Around the World, the digital festival: a spectacular entertainment experience open to people of all ages and places, unfazed by borders or boundaries – a world premiere and a major step in the future of digital music festivals. Bringing together more than 60 of the world’s most prominent artists in dance music with spectacular special effects and astonishing 3D-technology, Tomorrowland now announces its stellar line-up for the two-day festival weekend, including unique performances by the likes of Adam Beyer, Amelie Lens, Armin van Buuren, Charlotte de Witte, David Guetta, Dimitri Vegas & Like Mike, Kölsch, Lost Frequencies, Martin Garrix, Paul Kalkbrenner, Steve Aoki, Tale of Us, Tiësto, Timmy Trumpet and many more. On top of releasing its full line-up, Tomorrowland is giving a first exclusive sneak preview into the dazzling new Tomorrowland location it has been crafting over the past few months. The full line-up per stage can be found on tomorrowland.com – more very special guests and friends of Tomorrowland will be announced later; ticket sales start on Thursday June 18 via tomorrowland.com.

Catering to all genres with an eclectic line-up, from trance to hardstyle, to house to dubstep and future bass, there is definitely something for everyone during the unprecedented two-day festival experience. Tomorrowland Around the World will offer a packed schedule and is using the world’s best technology in 3D design, video production, gaming and special effects to bring together 8 different stages, including the iconic Mainstage that gives a first introduction into the magical world of ‘The Reflection of Love – Chapter 1’, plenty of signature Tomorrowland stages such as Atmosphere, Core and Freedom Stage, joined by 3 new stages, which have been specially created and designed by the creative team and 3D artists behind Tomorrowland. In an exclusive sneak preview, Tomorrowland is giving a very first look into the magical and newly created Tomorrowland location it has been building over the past few months, giving people across the globe a first taste of the dazzling world they will be able to navigate through during Tomorrowland Around the World, the digital festival.

Each stage will premiere brand new music and video content from the world’s best artists and a large portion of the fireworks and laser shows characteristic of Tomorrowland. The Mainstage – embodying the theme of 2020 ‘The Reflection of Love – Chapter 1’ – will be graced by the biggest industry heavyweights as Afrojack, Alan Walker, Armin van Buuren, David Guetta, Dimitri Vegas & Like Mike, Don Diablo, Kölsch, Lost Frequencies, Martin Garrix, NERVO, Oliver Heldens Paul Kalkbrenner, Steve Aoki, Sunnery James & Ryan Marciano, Tiësto, Timmy Trumpet and Vintage Culture.

The wonderful Atmosphere stage will be headlined by the likes of techno legends Amelie Lens, Dixon, Joyhauser, Reinier Zonneveld, Stephan Bodzin and Tale of Us. Several other house & techno music tastemakers including Adriatique, ANNA, Adam Beyer, Cellini, Charlotte de Witte, Joris Voorn and Patrice Baumel will deliver the most mesmerizing and atmospheric sounds at the mythical Core stage – a crowd favourite and definitely one of the most unique stages at Tomorrowland.

Tomorrowland’s iconic Freedom Stage will see Claptone, Jack Back and Solardo return, with hardstyle acts like Coone, Da Tweekaz and Wildstylez on the Q-Dance stage. Some of the world’s best artists in future bass, dubstep and trap music – Carnage, Eptic, Gryffin, Netsky, NGHTMRE, San Holo and Yellow Claw – will gather at one of the brand new stages.

Dimitri Vegas: “We’ve deliberately been holding out on doing livestreams as we wanted this to be really special. We had the opportunity to see the stage designs of the digital festival and it will be nothing like the world has ever seen. It’s truly an immersive and unique experience and surpasses any expectations someone can have when they hear the term ‘virtual festival’. People are just not ready for what they are about to see. We can’t wait!”

Armin van Buuren: “Tomorrowland Around the World is a great opportunity for me to connect with my fans during these lockdown times and I hope that this will help everyone to hold on for a bit longer until we can party together on actual festival grounds again! Very delighted to be part of this ground-breaking event.”

Steve Aoki: “Tomorrowland is always a special festival for me so I’m very honoured to be a part of Tomorrowland’s digital festival that will be uniting so many people from around the world in a way that hasn’t been done before. The connection between amazing music, breath-taking 3D design and the latest filming techniques from Hollywood get me extremely excited!”

Paul Kalkbrenner: “I’m very honoured to be part of this exciting new project and I’m thrilled to see the outcome, once it airs. Tomorrowland and its crew have always played an integral role throughout the last years and it has become more of a friendship than a pure work relation. Thanks for having me again on the Mainstage.”

Amelie Lens: “I am very excited to be playing at the biggest digital festival ever. I’ve heard that hundreds of people are currently working day and night to create a never before seen experience, so I honestly cannot wait for the last weekend of July.”

Festival visitors will be able to navigate easily through a magical and newly created Tomorrowland location with a PC, laptop, smartphone or tablet – you don’t need special VR goggles – and explore the entire festival site in an interactive way together with friends. Besides the performances there will be all kinds of interactive experiences to choose from, including inspirational webinars, games and workshops related to lifestyle, food, fashion and the Tomorrowland Foundation. Where are you currently?   Molly: We are currently living in the Northern Rivers NSW with the whole family and it’s safe to say this household is crazy. We have completely taken over our house during quarantine, there’s music going on 24/7, someone's always cooking in the kitchen (just hopefully not Sarah because anyone who's seen our Chef Nation cook off knows that’s just not a good idea!) and music gear has packed out our lounge room because that’s where the film our Virtual Concerts (haha sorry Mum & Dad). Anyone feel like house swapping?   What's been happening since we last spoke to you?  I see Money is still climbing the radio charts and you performed a virtual show with the Wolfe Brothers?   Sarah: Yes it's been pretty crazy here wrapping up our World Virtual Tour with Live Nation which was so much fun! 'Money' is climbing up the charts as well as our brand new single 'Breathe' and we are just so thrilled and grateful to be putting all of this new music out into the world and to see the positive response. It's been a lot of fun doing livestreams and playing music for folks all around the world from our lounge room and connecting with other artists like the Wolfe Brothers! We actually did a Far North Queensland tour with the Wolfe Brothers at the beginning of the year so it was a lot of fun catching up again and bringing some music to people virtually with them too!   Your new single 'Breathe' is out now, what influenced the sound and songwriting for this track?   Sarah: Sonically, this song is really authentic to our roots. When I was writing it I wasn't really thinking too much about the production, sound etc like often I do, it was really just being vulnerable lyrically and making sure the music felt exactly like the way we were feeling in that moment. The song then led the way. I think you'll hear our roots in both Country and influences we've grown up with, bands like Fleetwood Mac, Eagles, Alison Krauss etc. It's another element to us as a band and myself as a songwriter that people haven't heard yet, and one that we're really excited to share.   How did you go about writing Breathe?   Sarah: I wrote it around the time when Australia was experiencing terrible bushfires. I was in Nashville and watching it all go down from the other side of the world was so devastating. It was a message I really wanted to write for myself and something I've found really beautiful about this song is how people are connecting their own stories and experiences with it. It means something different to everyone that hears it and I've found over time it can relate to a lot of different parts of my life at different times too. That's the goal as a songwriter and to see people really resonate with it in that way means so much.   Where and when did you record and who with?   Lachlan: We had a blast recording at the end of last year in Nashville Tennessee's ‘Sound Emporium Studios’, a place where so many absolute legends have recorded and where we had the amazing opportunity to record our debut album in! (Which includes Breathe). We also had the honor to record our last 4 singles and album with Chad Carlson, who is a great friend of ours and an absolute weapon of a Producer/Engineer! He has won GRAMMYS for engineering many Taylor Swift albums, worked with Jewel, Trisha Yearwood, the soundtrack for the ‘Hunger Games’ and lots more!   What programs/instruments did you use?   Lachlan: In our latest single ‘Breathe’ I was using my old 1997 Fender Mustang, which I bought off a fellow musician in the car park of McDonald’s haha, not sure how that happened TBH. There's also some beautiful acoustic guitar.   Where can we listen to the track and see the video?   Molly: You can listen to ‘Breathe’ on all streaming platforms and watch the official music video on our YouTube Channel… We also have an animated lyric video!   Please tell us about the creative process behind your new video:   Molly: We’ve grown up in an area that is surrounded by gorgeous beaches, forests and waterfalls. This is where we go to destress and take our moments to just “breathe”. We along with our director Louis Murphy wanted this music video to be peaceful and easy on the eye… Soft tones and serene visuals (really capturing the beauty of nature). When we saw the first cut, the dolphins, whales and ocean life gave us goosebumps. It's so beautiful visually and fits in perfectly with the message of the song. We filmed at sunrise so it was a very cold and early morning, but so magical and we really wanted that to translate on camera.   Can you tell us about your virtual show in India, we hear it was a huge success.  Please tell us about your exposure to the Indian audience, how it came about and how the reaction has been so far.   Molly: Playing to India on our World Virtual Tour was incredible! Lots of our friends and family have visited India and told us how much they love it. Also one of our favorite bands of all time - The Beatles - wrote a lot of their White Album in India so there's that connection too! Book My Show / Live Nation asked if we'd like to do a concert for their audience in India and Sri Lanka… we obviously said yes!  The way the Indian press picked it up and welcomed us was so warming, we are incredibly thankful. Over 497 000 people watched the concert which is INSANE and still sounds crazy saying it out loud.   Please tell us about your upcoming virtual show dates and what we can expect:   Sarah: Well we haven't got any virtual concerts scheduled at the moment however we have started a weekly live streamed show on our social media, where we'll be chatting with everyone, playing games, QandA's AND of course some acoustic performances. You can check that out on our Instagram @the.buckleys   You have an upcoming album titled ‘Daydream’, how has the progress been so far? Molly: We are so so excited for everyone to hear our debut album. Going into it, it was a little nerve racking as it really is such an honor to be able to record an album, especially these days and something we certainly have not taken for granted. We wanted to pour every bit of ourselves into it and make sure we really capture who 'The Buckleys' are right now, musically, personally and artistically. The process was so fun recording with Chad Carlson and the amazing musicians in Nashville, at such an iconic recording studio. We approached it almost like we were creating an album in the 70s - as a full body of work and 'journey' from track 1 to 12. We are really proud of it and just can't wait for people to be able to hold it, singalong, dance to it, relate to it etc!   What do you like to do away from music?  I hear Lachy likes to surf? What are some of his favourite surf spots?   Lachlan: Well, when we’re not playing or doing anything music related then we generally love to get out into nature, either going for bush walks or heading off to the beach for a surf, it also gives us a lot of inspiration strolling out into the wilderness. I mostly like to longboard around Byron Bay, however I did have a 3 meter shark swim underneath me at the most easterly point of the head land!    Who are you listening to at the moment?  Lachlan: At the moment I’m falling down the rabbit hole of Funk, punk funk and Motown. We all love funk and love listening to bands like Parliament Funkadelic, Sly and the Family Stone, Red Hot Chili Peppers, Al Green, Stevie Wonder, and SO much more! There’s something about the amazing creativity and “ridiculous beauty“ that encapsulates me.    What's planned for the remainder of 2020?   Sarah: We have our debut album coming out VERY soon which we are so excited about and cannot wait for everyone to hear it! Our goal is to keep bringing music to people whether it's in person eventually or virtually. Now is such an important time for people to connect with music and bringing some joy into homes around the world is something we intend to keep doing however we can. And we of course can’t wait to get out on the road and playing shows when that’s possible! www.thebuckleys.net info@thebuckleys.net Facebook | Instagram
