Josha Daniel finally releases his highly anticipated debut album on Enroute Records

Josha Daniel finally releases his debut album which is out today on Enroute Records. After dedicating his lock-down time to producing all the tracks of his anticipated album, Daniel is finally ready to fully debut his music and share it with the world.

With his very own and unique sound, Josha merged 80’s influences, analog synthesizers and pop inspired melodies with his signature beats.

With Dream OF You, his musical talent and versatility as a singer, producer and instrumentalist are apparent. Multi-instrumentalist and vocalist Josha, lets the synth and keyboards shine, while playing down the electric guitar occasionally, for example in tracks like “Room For Error”. Overall, the synths are dreamy and the beats are straight but organic, with critics already hailing the album as the perfect blend between Indie-rock, Altpop and Indietronica.

Josha: “To me, writing songs feels like an escape into another world. It’s like a dream to me and it feels like the connection between my future and my past. It feels like a lot of hard work over the years have finally come to fruition.”

“Dream Of You” is named after Josha Daniel’ impact single: With the track’s blissful hook and catchy chord progressions this record made a big impact since the release, already surpassing more than half a-million streams and radio support around the globe.

Josha Daniel was formerly known as centrepiece of the popular Dutch band called Silent War, where Josha got familiar with radio en television live appearances. Apart of his solo project, he is featuring on Eelke Kleijn’s album with two tracks, including the title track Oscilations.

MANE unleashes revealing new EP in COPING MECHANISMS

Having already laid strong foundations throughout 2020 with the release of ‘My People’ and ‘Over & Over’, Adelaide musician MANE now celebrates the release of her brand new EP, Coping Mechanisms.

A record written to heal, grow and ultimately start anew with, the EP is more than a new chapter for MANE. It is a reflective collection of music that shows her ability to become inspired and creative again after navigating some heavy times outside of music. As such, Coping Mechanisms is just that; an exploration of how to come out the other side with the potential to be stronger than before.

“Coping Mechanisms follows the journey of trying times, mental health and the moments of strength in between. It’s a reminder to myself and to anyone else going through something difficult that we all have the strength in us to overcome hard times and welcome personal growth. I’ve always inherently felt things very deeply and fortunately for the better part of the last 10 years I’ve been able to have an outlet for that in my music – hence the EP title ‘Coping Mechanisms’. The six track record shines in texture and sonic twists and turns. Her latest single ‘Over & Over’ is a moment of strength; the builds and MANE’s vocals building akin to London Grammar. Then you have songs like ‘Start Again’ and ‘Fucking Around’, each examples of the EP’s richness and depth in sound.

A through-line of the new MANE EP is centred on growing stronger and bettering oneself. As MANE explains of her collaboration with Joel Quartermain, ‘Hold’, she knows herself much better now and treats her capabilities with renewed confidence. “I’ve come to know what I am and am not capable of when I’ve stretched myself thin and despite not wanting to take a break, I’m aware of when it’s in my best interest. GEORGIA DUTTON RELEASES NEW SINGLE ‘I WISH WE MET WHEN WE WERE 25’

Brisbane artist, Georgia Dutton explores an untimely relationship, sonically examining the nature of regret, desire and personal growth with her debut single ‘I Wish We Met When We Were 25’.

This pop-electronica songstress deep dives into her experience of regretting a relationship and wishing it happened when the two were older and more mature. “This track also acts as a warning for the next person in line, but hopefully we’ve both grown past our previous mistakes and learnt to never make them again in our next relationships” explains Georgia.

Her debut single release ‘Bittersweet Love’ was released when she was 16 and racked 70,000 streams on Spotify in 3 months, and now sitting at 300,000 and growing. Georgia has been busy the past two years honing her craft playing at Brisbane’s Hidden Lanes Festival 2019, winner of GYROstream’s Big Boost 2019 national competition, a finalist in the Brisbane City Council QUBE effect as well as Highly Commended in the School’s Category at the 2020 Queensland Music Awards. Georgia has also worked alongside co-writing with singer-songwriter Sahara Beck and performed with other Brisbane artists such as Hazel Mei and The Letter Elle.

This is her second release of 2020, with more singles to follow and an EP release expected in early 2021.

Where are you currently based? Somewhere in Wellington, well, right now at work, but you'll find me usually in my "office-turned-apartment" building in a rectangular room creating silly symphonies with whatever I have How did you first start playing music? If I knew, I'd tell you, but honestly for as long as I can remember I've just known how to play guitar and have always just loved music, I think I started writing when I was about 13, but again, it all gets blurry. What's been happening recently and how has your Covid experience been so far? I've just been prepping for this debut LP, though most of the work is done now and I've gotten more of a chance to start working on the second. My Covid experience has actually been great! When we went into lockdown here I had everything set up to record the whole thing, no distractions, just me and the studio for a few weeks, then by the time it was over me and the band we're ready to start playing, so I think I may have been one of the lucky few who managed to keep super occupied during these crazy f*cking times. How did Voodoo Bloo come about? I looked at a vape juice bottle. It spoke to me. I listened and carried out its wishes. Your new single 'Ha Ha Ok' is out now from your forthcoming debut album 'Jacobus', what influenced the sound and songwriting for Ha Ha Ok and the album as a whole? Ha Ha is a bit of a black sheep, in the sense that it's influence does not stem from the same place as the rest of the LP, but I'd say it definitely still had some of the same bands I liked the sound of come into its creation, I like to specifically think of it as a marriage between early "Arctic Monkeys" and "Psychedelic Porn Crumpets" for it's punk yet kinda groovy sound, but that's just me. How did you go about writing the music for your album Jacobus? A lot of it started from lyrics I wrote while I was in Japan, everything sort of just spiralled out of nowhere in a very short amount of time, as I'd been documenting things I saw every day on my notes, and then when my friend passed while I was over there, I realised that I'd captured a single moment in my life before it even happened. Written down where I was, what I was up to, all the calm before the storm was there, then when I came home all I had to do was navigate the storm and to turn it into something really personal to me. Some of the actual songs were written before, or at least the tunes of them, then I just had to piece them all together, it was a jigsaw where every piece just fell into place with ease. Where and when did you record/produce/master and who did you work with? Jacobus was recorded at my house in the suburbs of Wellington, probably around April of this year. We spent a long time working on the production and sound of the album afterwards, but finally we ended up going with Scott Seabright, Ryan Smith, and Gregory Haver for Mixing, Mastering, and Mix advising respectively. It's out there already, go look for it! What did you find most challenging and rewarding during the creation of Jacobus? Singing "A Brother, A Son, A War that never changes" and "A Friend, Jacobus". I did the 11 minute trek in one take, and once it was over, I couldn't bring myself to do it again. I showed my friends the takes because I wasn't sure if my emotions came off as overdramatic, but they said it felt pure and honest, and ultimately I agreed, and there it sits as my dark and beautiful achievement. As an artist, how has Covid impacted your mental health? Honestly it is the best/worst time of my life. I started spinning since I was 16 years old, from bday parties to house parties and then in clubs.

I kinda see the lockdown as a personal isolation and time to invest in myself, even thou to have to opportunity to keep learning and experiment more with my sound.

Though times for everyone but we are all in this together, so we gotta stay positive. We already wasted so much time on negative things.

I am glad this year the theme of mental illness got back up again.

The real success of Donut Dating is to be happy by yourself in the first place in order to make your partner/partners happy. It is a value you add to your life.

LOWLIFE RELEASE DEBUT TRACK ‘WASTELAND’

Comprised of Liam Haygarth, Nathan Mortimer, Harry Todd and Jordan Cardy (aka RAT BOY), Essex newcomers LOWLIFE have released their debut single “Wasteland.”

“Wasteland” represents the culmination of their extensive influences and DIY ethos. It’s an explosive blend of larger-than-life pop hooks, West Coast hip-hop, booming dub and Middle-Eastern flavoured melodies. Lyrically, it’s a post-apocalyptic road trip that simmers with charismatic rhymes and punky disillusionment.

The project commenced at the height of the first wave of lockdown, with the four members collaborating via Zoom. Since reuniting in person, they’ve spent the majority of their time writing and recording together. LOWLIFE wrote, produced and mixed “Wasteland” entirely independently, operating out of a dilapidated studio lock-up on a farm in Essex, England.

That self-determined DIY spirit informs all aspects of their creative process. They pool their skills to make the most of their scant resources, filming music videos, designing artwork and producing merch on a limited budget without compromising on the quality of their output. They’re now undeniably ready to deliver a new wave of unique music.

THE PUSH LAUNCHES FREE ELECTRONIC MUSIC PROGRAM FOR YOUNG VICTORIANS WHO IDENTIFY AS FEMALE OR GENDER NON-CONFORMING

Melbourne, Australia – Victoria’s leading youth music organisation The Push is proud to announce the first intake of their brand-new Electronic Music Accelerator program in partnership with Ableton—the world-leading brand of electronic music making software and hardware—and Lord Mayor’s Charitable Foundation.

The Electronic Music Accelerator seeks to develop and support Australia’s next generation of electronic music makers, producers and aspiring artists who identify as female or gender-non-conforming. Operating out of The Push’s new home in Collingwood Yards, this free program is open to young Victorians aged 16-20 years old, who are interested in kick-starting a career in the contemporary music industry.

Over eight weekly sessions, program participants will have the opportunity to develop their skills in the field of electronic music production, grow their professional capacity, build relationships and master a variety of techniques using Ableton.

The workshops will be facilitated by Beatrice Lewis (Haiku Hands, Kardajala Kirridarra) who brings a wealth of knowledge and first-hand industry experience to the program, to serve as both teacher and mentor.

The Rubens Release Intimate Live Performance Of ‘Time Of My Life’ | Forthcoming Album ‘0202’ – Out Friday 12 February

Today The Rubens have released an intimate, stripped back, reimagined version of their current single ‘Time Of My Life’. Recorded at their studio in Camden, the track shows off the band’s tremendous song writing chops along with Sam Margin’s signature, sundrenched vocal.

NZ punk rock act VOODOO BLOO returns with new single ‘HA HA OK OK’ from forthcoming debut album JACOBUS

Returning with another strong release for 2020, Wellington-based rock act Voodoo Bloo presents the chaotic new single, ‘Ha Ha Ok Ok’.

Cut from his forthcoming debut album JACOBUS, ‘Ha Ha Ok Ok’ continues to explore some frenetic punk rock territory, as listeners get the opportunity to get further acquainted with one of New Zealand’s urgent young voices.

‘Ha Ha Ok Ok’ exists as one of the oldest recordings that is featured on the Jacobus album, and one that still holds great weight and significance for Voodoo Bloo. As the Jacobus album is an intensely personal one, the music the listener hears on it each has a specific collection of memories attached.

For ‘Ha Ha Ok Ok’, we hear a frenzied and angry narrator unleashing on records. As Voodoo Bloo describes of his music, the artform is a powerful tool and the way it is channeled on this project amps it up to 11.

“This is actually the oldest song on the album, but still very much felt like a story I wanted to tell. This track is about those egomaniacs who you can see are struggling on the inside, but push their emotions away for the chance of popularity and climbing the social ranks.” Voodoo Bloo

Recording the single at PlasticGroove Studios in NZ, Voodoo Bloo and talented videographer Alex Hargreaves decided to bring ‘Ha Ha Ok Ok’ out to life with visuals filmed in Auckland. A strenuous shoot and process to put together, Voodoo Bloo employed the talents of some special friends and guests to bring the energy of ‘Ha Ha Ok Ok’ to the visuals with precision.

“I’ve never been so exhausted, excited and sweaty in my life. All the crew really put themselves through the shit to bring this thing to fruition. We had 10 hours to get all the shots we needed and I honestly still felt like I was in the back of a moving truck for hours after we finished, but it’s an experience I will never ever forget.” Voodoo Bloo

Musically, Voodoo Bloo’s work takes in inspiration from across a wide range of sounds; from more indie stylings like Neutral Milk Hotel and Car Seat Headrest, to the harder sounds of System Of A Down and Marilyn Manson, the foundation of sounds Jacobus has been built upon is a strong one.

In follow up to singles Honey, Some Of Us, Straws In The Wind, and Automation; King Gizzard & The Lizard Wizard unveil their newest full length ‘K.G.’, their sixteenth since they formed in 2010. In the wake of a global pandemic, it’s a collection of songs that saw the six members of the band retreating to their own homes, to compose and record remotely. A return to microtonal territory, this 10 track opus sees the band paint from a palette that extends far beyond the musical colours of western rock. An album best described as a pure distillation of the King Gizzard sound, one that cherry picks the best aspects of previous albums and contorts them into new shapes, via defiantly non-Western rock scales. There’s walk-on theme song ‘K.G.L.W’, the celestial disco-funk of ‘Intrasport’, the righteous life-giving staccato rock of ‘Ontology’, epic stoner-sludge closer ‘The Hungry Wolf Of Fate’, which ends the album in an abrupt burst of white noise. All come together to represent the next-level of the expanding Gizz sound.

‘K.G.’ is both a stand-alone work and also part of a bigger musical picture. More news on that shall be forthcoming.. but fans of the group know by now that King Gizzard don’t do things by halves. For now, check out ‘Intrasport’ – the final single from the album. Shot inside the studio apartment of frequent collaborator John Angus Stewart, the clip is an intimate yet panoramic capture of what it means to feel loneliness at a party, even though you’re surrounded by people. Canadian Duo 401 WST Blends Hip-Hop and House on Their Debut “Our House” EP

Canadian duo 401 WST throws it back to the ’80s with the epic debut of their 3-track “Our House” EP, composed of recently released “Do The Damn Thang” and 2 brand new songs that fuse hip-hop sounds and house music. Punk-rock icons Goldfinger have announced their highly anticipated album Never Look Back will be released December 4, 2020 via Big Noise. This release marks the official return of original guitarist Charlie Paulson to the band, joining John Feldmann, Mike Herrera, Philip Sneed and Nick Gross.

Music has the power to unite people. Climate Live will harness the universal language of music to: ENGAGE: enlarge the global movement by engaging a new audience through music. EDUCATE: raise awareness of the challenges faced today by people on the frontlines of ecological breakdown, as well as those forecast by scientists for the future. EMPOWER: pressure world leaders to take action to combat the climate crisis with a focus on COP26. Each concert is being planned with sustainability as a top priority, working with events professionals, venues, artists and local authorities to strive to make the events as sustainable as possible.
