LAKSHANE UNVEILS NEW SINGLE ‘RELOAD’ WITH ACCOMPANYING VISUALS

by the partae May 26, 2020
written by the partae

After the late 2019 release of his self produced EP ‘Come Alive’ which picked up nods from Spotify and even an exclusive segment on Beats1 radio, rapper/producer powerhouse Lakshane is back at it, announcing a brand new single, ‘Reload’ that will be out on all major platforms on the 29th of May.

‘Reload’, like the Melbourne rapper’s previous music, is for the hip hop lovers, boasting a vibrant chorus and lyrics full of bravado that captures the true essence of this upcoming Australian talent. The instrumentals were created by up and coming producer FRAAN, which complement the upbeat and high octane feel of the overall song.

“Reload is something I wanted to get off my chest. I feel like I allow a lot of people into my life without a wall and they take advantage of it or don’t reciprocate the love. Reload expresses my ability to reset and keep going despite these people and the other barriers I encounter”

Accompanying the release, Lakshane also premiered visuals on the 25th of May ahead of the song release. Directed by Lakshane himself with filming and editing by RMR productions, the music video is definitely a stronghold showcasing his serious comeback to the game.

He has a heavy release plan of singles for the rest of the year so this won’t be the last time you hear the name Lakshane.

House of Tracks Launches New Website With New Features

by the partae May 26, 2020
written by the partae
House of Tracks today announces a brand new website with many new features including a filter based search engine and a custom upload system, and it is already dealing with an 85% increase in daily track submissions as people turn to music for solace in these unprecedented times. The unique platform is now the largest supplier of royalty free dance music limited to one copy, and is providing vital ways for producers to monetise their work in essential new ways.
In recent weeks, producers have had more time to make music, and making music is a welcome creative outlet in these difficult times. Well-known names are making more music as well. Unable to perform at festivals and events, they’re discovering that they’re able to generate a good income through House of Tracks.
Because of this, in the last few weeks House of Tracks’s offering has increased 85%. It turns out people do need music after all. What they provide is royalty-free electronic dance music, created by talented producers from all over the world. What began six years ago as a ghost producer platform that mainly served DJs has grown into a worldwide supplier of royalty-free music for various industries. The gaming industry, advertising agencies, YouTubers, video editors and program makers have all found their way to the platform. Talented producers, from ambitious boys and girls in their attics to established names with their own studios use House of Tracks to sell their music.
Music can be used for DJs and producers, YouTubers, the gaming industry,  advertising, festival anthems, ghost producing, and even for movies and TV series. All tracks are checked by hand and finger printed (identified and matched by DJ monitors and its database with over 80 million tracks). All producers have to be approved through auditioning in order to start selling their tracks on House of Tracks. With that quality assurance process, producers are carefully screened so you can always be sure of high quality, unique tracks that are all limited to one copy.

Check out the video below to find out more on some of the great new features that have been added to the latest version of the House of Tracks website.

Burning Spear - Door Peep https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=yLQp7I1CF_A The original Babylon Burning anthem, from the early days when the program was called Chant Down Babylon. Killer mid-70s roots reggae, with dramatic horns the perfect accompaniment for Winston Rodney's plaintive chanting. Third World - 1865 (96 Degrees In The Shade) https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=UwlUY3AQd2Q The song that got me into reggae, back when I was a teenage hiphop fan. Don't be misled by the title - this is not a song about lounging in the shade, but rather a historical tale of rebellion against colonial powers, and the subsequent massacre of over 400 people. Sizzla - Praise Ye Jah https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=lieiSGwpooo When I first became a reggae fan, I only really liked the golden-age 70s roots sound - until I first heard Sizzla's "Praise Ye Jah" album when it was released in 1997. This opened my ears to the vast world of contemporary reggae music, and my life was never the same again. Midnite - Love Right (Live Right) https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=DIYFaPQtaBs Hailing not from Jamaica, but rather the small island of St.Croix in the US Virgin Islands, Midnite's lead singer Vaughn Benjamin (aka Akae Beka) gets my vote as the best lyricist in all of reggae music. While other contemporary Rastafarian singers devolved into pastiche and tired cliches, Vaughn's lyrics went to places never before explored by the music. While I don't love all of his countless releases, Midnite is likely to remain my all-time personal favourite forever.  Collie Buddz - Love and Reggae https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0tTuDl8HlZs My vote for the biggest reggae song of the last couple years, this is an absolute reggae party anthem, from Bermuda's Collie Buddz. "I just want to smoke, drink, and love my girl to some reggae". Chronixx - Here Comes Trouble https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=LfeIfiiBTfY An early breakthrough tune from the biggest name in modern Jamaican reggae music, over a modern-day reworking of a classic Sly & Robbie riddim from the early 80s.  Busy Signal - Stay So https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=h6DwAox2hF8 Moving now from reggae to dancehall - from one extreme of Jamaican music to the other. "Stay So" is one of the biggest songs of the last few years, and even after hearing it countless times, I still love it (something that isn't always the case with dancehall hits). It has an excellent cinematic video clip too. Koffee - Toast https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=p8HoEvDh70Y The biggest dancehall song of last year in my opinion. A welcome antidote to the current trap-influenced sound of contemporary dancehall and its darkly violent lyrics, "Toast" is an upful, positive song that shows gratitude for life from a young artist with a big future ahead of her.

Winner Queensland Music Awards Song Of The Year – Dancin’ & Romancin’
Winner Queensland Music Awards Best Rock Single
Recipient of Grant McLennan Fellowship
4ZZZ Album of the Week“A new stylistic depth and emotional heft now augmenting his trademark ability to conjure hooks and melodies at will” – The Music ★★★★“Instant classics with perky, side-stepping tempos that camouflage anxiety-ridden lyrical content”

Jeremy Neale has today released a special acoustic video for ‘Time‘ via The Mustard Mix. Watch here.

In his single ‘Time‘ sees Neale addresses several demons including the realisation and haunting existentialism surrounding how much of his life has passed by. The track comes from his new album We Were Trying To Make It Out available now via Dot Dash Recordings / Remote Control.

We Were Trying to Make It Out was written following Neale‘s Grant McLennan fellowship win which saw him spend three months in New York City during 2018, attending songwriting masterclasses at NYU, collaborating with local writers and as it turns out, most importantly, resetting his life.

Many years stuck in a cycle of ever-changing work, relentless side-hustling and various degrees of financial ruin had taken a toll and the opportunity to escape the pressure cooker for a brief period of time helped immensely to cure the burnout.

The distance from home enabled a birds-eye view of what was and wasn’t working and enabled him to figure out what exactly he wanted from music and how the desire to create music could fit into a life worth living. Upon his return home to Brisbane, Australia, armed with new purpose and an openness to collaboration, he set to work on recording his sophomore record We Were Trying to Make It Out.

Sonically, We Were Trying to Make It Out contains Neale’s penchant for melodic hooks, delivered coherently and directly without compromise or pastiche. This is the Jeremy Neale sound – the result of years of searching and refining – honest, fully realised and immediate. Guitar pop underpinned by classic songwriting is potentially the recipe for finding oneself outside the current musical climate but is also the hallmark of creating something truly timeless.

On We Were Trying to Make It Out Neale explains the album title as the justification for the brutality you’ll put yourself through in an attempt to escape your demons.“There are a lot of sacrifices you have to make in order to create music if you’re not major label backed or independently wealthy and every mistake you make has direct consequences for your everyday quality of life.”

We Were Trying to Make It Out is a record written across two cities and two years. Early Jeremy Neale recordings might have read as a tribute to those who came before him, but here on his second record – he has found his sound and his voice.

Reinier Zonneveld will premiere 14 new tracks during unique livestream on May 27 Most new tracks were created during his lockdown period

by the partae May 25, 2020
written by the partae

On Wednesday May 27 7PM CEST, Dutch techno giant Reinier Zonneveld will do an exceptional livestream from his own sunny roof terrace with a stunning view over Amsterdam. What makes the livestream even more special, is that Reinier will perform a lot of long anticipated brand-new music live.

While being in lockdown, he has used the time to get creative in the studio. Reinier says: “As I usually am touring around the world from gig to gig, and now being confined at home for such a long period, it meant there were certain different approaches in my creative process. Usually I used to get my inspiration from performances and travels that I just experienced and now I had to imagine the dancefloor or get my inspiration from different sources. It also gave me the opportunity to work more in depth and experiment more with the hardware and synths I’ve got in my studio, simply because now I had the time to do it, instead of composing new music on the plane.”

One of the tracks that will pass by is Reiniers upcoming remix of the acclaimed classic ‘The First Rebirth’ by Jones & Stephenson, which will be out next month on his own label Filth On Acid in cooperation with the iconic Bonzai Records.

Make sure to tune in via Reinier’s Facebook page.

Hayden James:

It took award-winning music producer Hayden James one song to become a sound of the Australian summer. ‘Something About You’, released in the heat of December 2014 by Future Classic, lit up the pop music scene and gained Gold Certification in Australia. Today the artist’s electronic pop music has hooked a global audience on his sound, with a collection that has amassed over half a billion streams.

Following the release of ‘Something About You’, Hayden James played sold out venues world-wide while producing tracks for Katy Perry. October 2017 marked the release of ‘Numb’ featuring GRAACE, which scored Platinum certification in Australia and landed at #32 on Triple J’s Hottest 100.

Hit singles “Better Together” featuring Running Touch and ‘Just Friends’ featuring singer Boy Matthews sealed 2018 as Hayden James’ break out year, leading into his long-awaited debut album ‘Between Us’ in June 2019 cemented Hayden as one of Australia’s most influential pop producers, leading to an ARIA Nomination for Best Male Artist.

DJ Boring

Following a stand-out set at Untitled Group’s Pitch Music & Arts earlier this year and having one of the most watched Boiler Room’s of 2019, Dj Boring joins the Virtual Day Party lineup being filmed from the Avalon Airport Hangar. DJ BORING aka Tristan Hallis could be the most ironically named performer today: energetic journeys into forgotten gems and future classics, nothing about what he does is boring.

Lastlings

In 2018, the mystique surrounding Lastlings expanded as their live show caught the attention of Australian electronic heavyweights RÜFÜS DU SOL, signing the duo to their newly founded label Rose Avenue Records, and welcoming three substantial singles that included ‘Deja Vu’, ‘I’ve Got You’ and ‘Last Breath’. Previously selling out Australian headline tours, supporting the likes of Two Door Cinema Club and RÜFÜS DU SOL, while earning spots on esteemed music events; Coachella’s DoLaB and Splendour In The Grass and Beyond The Valley, Amy and Josh are no strangers to the world’s biggest stages.

Made in Paris

Closing 2019 with her most anticipated single ‘Pursuit’, Made in Paris has dominated radio with full rotation and 100+ spins on Triple J, taking top 30 positions weekly on the Australian Shazam Chart and adds to Spotify editorial playlists globally. From her three USA tours to Australia’s most acclaimed warehouses alongside Stephan Bodzin on his 2019 Australian tour, Pitch Music Festival, Beyond The Valley and Splendour In The Grass, the Sydney artist depicts a true deep and dark production journey from studio to stage. Paris has entrapped enthusiasts within the industry from Maceo Plex and Township Rebellion to Joseph Capriati’s techno allure, with a globally acclaimed Mixmag, BBC Radio 1 and her most recent Triple J Mix Up Residency, making her a solid staple.

Cassettes For Kids

Cassettes for Kid’s trademark blend of high energy house, breaks has seen a swift trajectory to the forefront of local dance music. He’s already dominated festival stages at Pitch Music and Arts, Strawberry Fields, Lost Paradise, Duke Street Block Party as well as headlining Australia’s best clubs – XE54, Universal & more. An extremely trusted selector, he has warmed dancefloors for the likes of Denis Sulta, DJ Koze, KiNK, KETTAMA, HAAi, Black Loops, ANNA, John Talabot and many more.

Adult Art Club

Mysterious Australian duo Adult Art Club have been teasing local experimental electro dance fans with some rare gems released sporadically over the past few years. Low slung, sinister vibes, soul shifting drops and crunchy samples bring an earthy vibe to the floor, with earth shaking lows and psychedelic highs, this duo are like manna from heaven for the more adventurous dance floor dwellers around the country. A treat for this year’s Beyond The Valley, Adult Art Club will have the sold out masses vibrating hard to their dank minimalism.

Thank you.

Untitled Group would like to thank our videographers, photographers, production and suppliers who all contributed to making these streams come together.

Where are you currently based and what is the music scene like there?   I’m based in Sydney, my lifelong hometown. Sydney has been “up and down” I think over the past decade or so in terms of its music scene. There was a real golden era in the 90s where every pub was full of bands playing and crowds gathering, with some great bands emerging. Things hit a bit of a brick wall a bit after that though, with venues closing and pokies ruling the pubs, but I think there’s been a gradual resurgence, with small bars opening and lots of interesting opportunities to play. “Pre-pandemic” things were building nicely, I felt. Maybe that will continue once things normalise somewhat/somehow, but it’s obviously all up in the air right now. How did you first start playing music? My father was a big band leader back in the Big Band era of the mid-20th century. He had my brother and I late in life and so we were brought up by going to gigs around the world when he was playing, with music was always “there” for us. But when my brother and I first started playing, we were heavily into early punk music, the Clash, the Pistols etc, and we started playing in bands in our home area of Bondi as a natural extension of that. The surf movies we loved all had epic soundtracks and we loved playing stuff in that vibe, kind of coastal-guitar-punk, with Midnight Oil thrown into the mix. What's been happening recently?   We’ve all been laying pretty low due to COVID so have been taking stock and trying to stay healthy and not drink too much and get ready for the release of the new compilation, which has been in the pipeline for several years. 'The Songs Of Adam Gibson' is coming out on 29 May 2020, please tell us about this album and how it came about: This record is a double vinyl / double CD release that compiles a swathe of stuff I’ve written and played with my three main bands from over the past 20 or so years. It gathers together a “best-of” really and puts ‘em all together on one release, being released by legend Brisbane label Coolin’ By Sound. I’ve been involved with up to 10 different albums over the years with Modern Giant, The Aerial Maps and the Ark-Ark Birds and this release plucks tracks from all of those bands and whacks them together as a cohesive overview. It’s been mooted for bloody ages but has just taken a while to get together, so I’m stoked it’s finally ready to come out. What or who influences your sound, songwriting/lyrics?   My whole idea is basically “storytelling with music” combined with articulating a sense of particular landscapes, so I am naturally drawn to people who have that storytelling aspect to their music, or are able to create a “landscape” that speaks to a place and space. Midnight Oil were an early key influence, with bands like the Triffids, Not Drowning Waving also being important. Then there’s the punk rock sensibility of The Clash and Joe Strummer, combined with evocative emotional heft of the likes of Joni Mitchell and Tom Waits. The latter being important because I essentially do “spoken word”, similar or at least influenced by a lot of Tom Waits’ stuff. How do you usually go about writing music?   I create a kind of emotional or psychological landscape of what a song might be about and I work with people such as my brother Simon Gibson or the likes of fellow Aerial Map-pers Alannah Russack, Pete Fenton and Mark Hyland to create the music around that. Over the years I have developed a pretty punk rock way of working, not overthinking anything and just getting it done, and the people I’ve worked with over the years have really responded to that. What do you have planned for this album? We plan to tour as The Aerial Maps in general support of this record but god knows when that will be able to happen. In a weird way, the pandemic has allowed us to concentrate on getting the album out and not have to worry too much about the touring aspect just yet, so it’s quite ok really. What do you like to do away from music? I’m a journalist and copywriter so I manage to eke out a living by doing that to the best of my energy and ability. Surfing and travel are also central to my life so if I can manage to do a surf trip on a regular basis, things are good. Who are you listening to at the moment?   A disparate selection really, ranging from Laura Marling’s latest album to things like early Big Audio Dynamite – one of my favourite bands – plus some Americana, things like Sun Kil Moon and Smog. Pretty all over the place but that’s Covid living for ya! What's planned for 2020? Basically to get the album out, survive, surf some good waves, tell stories, be happy if possible. Favourite food and place to hangout? I am somewhat reclusive right at the moment so I stick fairly close to my home neighbourhood, so pretty much the local RSL is my go-to of choice (when it’s open!) But I do tend to bust out every time I can and travel to favourite spots overseas. My brother now lives in Bali so I have a good place to stay and hang out there – that’s always a great place to escape to overall and also a good place to write songs in general. https://www.facebook.com/adamgibsonspokenword/about/ https://www.instagram.com/adamfgibson http://www.adamfgibson.com/ https://open.spotify.com/artist/3ODJMrDRRL0gKcCKNw0zVS https://smarturl.it/mbd0l0

What’s been happening recently?

We’ve all been laying pretty low due to COVID so have been taking stock and trying to stay healthy and not drink too much and get ready for the release of the new compilation, which has been in the pipeline for several years.

‘The Songs Of Adam Gibson’ is coming out on 29 May 2020, please tell us about this album and how it came about:

This record is a double vinyl / double CD release that compiles a swathe of stuff I’ve written and played with my three main bands from over the past 20 or so years.

What’s planned for 2020?

Basically to get the album out, survive, surf some good waves, tell stories, be happy if possible.

Favourite food and place to hangout?

I am somewhat reclusive right at the moment so I stick fairly close to my home neighbourhood, so pretty much the local RSL is my go-to of choice (when it’s open!) But I do tend to bust out every time I can and travel to favourite spots overseas. My brother now lives in Bali so I have a good place to stay and hang out there – that’s always a great place to escape to overall and also a good place to write songs in general.

THE TESKEY BROTHERS LIVE AT THE FORUM DEBUTS AT #1 ON THE ARIA ALBUM CHART

LIVE AT THE FORUM – ARIA CHART DEBUTS:
#1 ARIA Album Chart
#1 ARIA Australian Album Chart
#1 ARIA Vinyl Album Chart
#1 ARIA Digital Album Chart

Ivy League Records are extremely elated to announce that Live At The Forum, the incredible new live album from The Teskey Brothers, has debuted at #1 on the ARIA Album Chart! In a time where gigs and tours have been put on hold indefinitely, the live album – featuring songs from the band’s two critically acclaimed albums, Run Home Slow (2019) and Half Mile Harvest (2017), as well as a special cover of John Lennon’s ‘Jealous Guy’, is the first live album to go number 1 by an Australian band since 1992’s AC/DC Live.
“We are completely gobsmacked to reach the number one spot. I guess it just goes to show how much everyone misses attending gigs right now!” – Josh Teskey
In the tradition of some of history’s greatest live records (James Brown, Woodstock, Donny Hathaway, The Who), the band undertook the arduous task of recording to analogue tape, during their sold-out four-night stand at the beloved Melbourne venue last November.

Accompanying the live album has been the band’s ‘Stay Home Slow’ virtual tour – where in lieu of live shows, the band released a series of live videos from The Forum and a behind-the-scenes documentary of the live album recording experience. The 16-minute video includes performances from the night, musings from the band members and a glimpse into the ambitious (and triumphant!) recording process.

Last night the band also performed a stunning set for The State Of Music, which you can watch back here.

Alongside the CD & digital release, the live album is available on 180g double-blue gatefold vinyl. A limited version (with a different front cover) is also available exclusively to indie record stores.

In further great news, the band’s track ‘So Caught Up’ took out first place in the International Song-writing Competition in the AAA (Adult Album Alternative) category and they have been nominated for three APRA Awards – including Breakthrough Songwriter Of The Year, Most Performed Blues & Roots Work and Song Of The Year (for ‘I Get Up’). The ceremony will be streamed live on May 26.

The decision to release a live album was a natural one for The Teskey Brothers, who’ve spent the past few years captivating audiences around the world. Their non-stop touring schedule has included sold-out shows across Australia & NZ (20+ sold-out dates in 2019 alone), New York, LA, San Francisco, Denver, Toronto, London, Dublin, Manchester, Glasgow, Paris, Amsterdam, Zurich and more. The band have also played to mammoth crowds at festivals such as Latitude Festival (UK), Firefly (US), North Sea Jazz (Netherlands), Bonnaroo (US), and at home, Splendour in the Grass, Meredith Music Festival & Byron Bay’s Bluesfest, to name a few.

2019 was an incredible year for the Warrandyte four-piece. The timeless Run Home Slow captured the hearts of music fans and critics across the world, earning the band three ARIA Awards (alongside a breathtaking performance of ‘Rain’ at the event), four Music Victoria Awards and a Grammy Nomination for Best Engineered Album, Non-Classical, recognising Paul Butler & Sam Teskey as the album engineers along with Melbourne’s Joe Carra as mastering engineer.

Run Home Slow debuted at #2 on the ARIA Album chart in August and stayed in the top 7 for four consecutive weeks, a testament to the dedication of their loyal and new fans alike. Release week also saw Run Home Slow and their debut, Half Mile Harvest sit at #1 and #2 respectively on the iTunes Album Chart & this week both those releases also feature in the ARIA album chart at #20 and #77!

Congratulations, The Teskey Brothers!

The Teskey Brothers are:
Josh Teskey – vocals & rhythm guitar
Sam Teskey – lead guitar
Brendan Love – bass guitar
Liam Gough – drums

Kaskade and Project 46 once again joined forces for their new track "Chains," a cathartic sonic journey through the myriad of emotions that are so prevalent in our lives today. It begins with angelic vocals crooning the line "Running out of ways to run away, I cover it up, but I can't escape," setting the stage for a progression of gentle melodies and rolling basslines into a bouncy, big-room influenced climax. "Chains" pulls at the heartstrings of anyone who has felt trapped or restrained in life, either by others or themselves. By the time the track's drop comes, it's as if the chains themselves have been released, and the weight has been lifted. "Chains" is Kaskade & Project 46's follow up single to 2013's "Last Chance," the opening track from Kaskade's "Atmosphere" album and Project 46's most-streamed single to date. As a household name in electronic music for nearly two decades, Kaskade needs no introduction. His list of achievements is a mile long: 11 studio albums, 7 GRAMMY nominations, the first solo electronic dance artist to sell out both Navy Pier in Chicago and the Staples Center in Los Angeles, the first DJ to ever secure a Las Vegas residency, and the first electronic artist to headline Coachella. Less tangible but even more important has been his influence on dance music tastes and culture for generations of listeners. Often Kaskade is one of the artists who introduced now-veteran listeners to the genre, and such fans are usually fans for life. In 2019, he worked with multi-award winner Meghan Trainor on "With You" and Gorgon City on "Go Slow," among solo releases, such as "My Light," "Come On," and official remixes for the likes of Alicia Keys, Jennifer Lopez, and Gwen Stefani earlier. Canadian duo Ryan Henderson and Thomas Shaw, better known as Project 46, is known for their melodic, progressive sound that never fails to inspire and uplift listeners. They began Project 46 in 2011 and were active until 2016, with releases on Ultra Records, Monstercat, Armada, Mixmash, and collaborations such as "Last Chance" with Kaskade, "Collide" with Laidback Luke, "Crime" with Avicii, "Daphne" with Paul Oakenfold, and "Home" with Feenixpawl, to name a few. 2020 marks the comeback of Project 46, and we are looking forward to more beautiful, vocal-driven dance tracks coming from the talented duo later this year! https://open.spotify.com/track/7wMABXUD4FxX66u3eG1ax8 https://soundcloud.com/kaskade/chains-with-project-46 More info on Kaskade / Project 46 / Arkade: Kaskade: Facebook | Instagram | Twitter | Spotify Project 46: Facebook | Soundcloud | Twitter | Spotify Arkade: Facebook | Instagram | Twitter | YouTube

LEGENDARY JERSEY PRODUCER HARRY ‘CHOO CHOO’ ROMERO REMIXES JOY CLUB ‘IN THE NIGHT’ TO MAXIMUM HOUSE EFFECT

by the partae May 22, 2020
written by the partae

JOIN THE JOY CLUB

Inspired by the changing decades of Dance Culture and widely regarded as an original cornerstone house and TECHNO legend (we don’t use that title flippantly), the Jersey DJ Harry ‘Choo Choo’ Romero remixes Joy Club’s ‘In The Night’. Giving it a distinct stomping underground and fluid house rerub, Romero treads a fine line between house and techno – something of a signature sound for the internationally respected artist.

This is Harry Romero at his best – stripped down tough and bouncy house groves, a track that oozes quality, much like the artist himself who has released classic club cuts like ‘Tania’, ‘Night @ The Black’ and ‘I Go Back’ with Robert Owens. He has also worked for decades with Erick Morillo’s Subliminal label, has released on many imprints including Crosstown Rebels and Hot Creations, and is supported by almost every DJ from Luciano to Danny Tenaglia and everyone in-between.

The Joy Club ‘In The Night’ original continues to grow with over 3.5 million streams across all platforms to date, received support from BBC Radio 1 and Kiss FM and is included in a host of influential power playlists across Spotify and Apple Music. With a new colourful and fun video to drop in the coming weeks, this track is capturing the imagination of the masses.

KKYIV-BASED ELECTRONIC ARTIST, KOLOAH, UNVEILS ‘BORDERLINES’ EP  WITH
NEW MUSIC VIDEO ‘ELYSIUM’

RELEASED VIA THE NEWLY FOUNDED,
KYIV LABEL, 1000XXPLACE

Kyiv-based producer and rave hero Koloah has been a hugely influential figure in his local scene for more than a decade, responsible for pushing the reputation of Kyiv’s rave culture to a global scale. Producing music under a number of different guises, his music has always spoken of the raw energy that runs through the Kyiv underground. He now lands with his brand new ‘Borderlines’ EP on newly founded Kyiv label, 1000xxPlace (Thousand Kisses Place), that focuses on pushing breakbeat in varying forms. Koloah’s first outing on the label follows the strong debut of label co-founder, Hidden Element with ‘Comparisons’ EP.

Taking inspiration from Greek mythology and his own observations of our planet, Koloah explores the existence and often blurred function of ‘Borderlines’ on his new EP. Offering a transcendent message of mindfulness, punctuated by contrasting eerie breakbeats and bright textures.

“I’ve been thinking about borderlines a lot lately. The lines that separate the world, separating good and evil, separating life and death; why some of them are thinner than others. How crucial it is to get rid of some boundaries and accept others, in order to evolve and improve your creative freedom.”
Koloah

Emerging with airy melodies, iridescent arpeggios and near-meditative breakbeat on ‘Elysium’, Koloah plays with the Ancient Greek idea of ‘Paradise’, before delving into otherworldly club-centered moods on ‘Borderline’ with misty synths and dense rhythms. Elsewhere, the suspenseful ‘Deep Blue’, brings together heady beats and glistening synth sequences, whilst ‘Stelakis’ offers a playful collage of glitched percussive sounds and idyllic notes.

Escaping genre boundaries throughout ‘Borderlines’ EP, the work of Koloah is complimented by two remixes from comrades Hidden Element and Nocow. Label co-founder, Hidden Element serves up a hearty 136 BPM hardcore rework of title track, ‘Borderline’; bringing in sure UK bass and jungle influence. From Russia, Gost Zvuk crews Nocow closes out the EP with a thick electro mix of ‘Deep Blue’.

Seeking to push his musical vision further than ever before, the tracks encased within Koloah’s ‘Borderlines’ EP stand as both a collection of club-ready hitters and pieces of sonic storytelling.

R3HAB teamed up with British pop sensation HRVY for his new single "Be Okay," a dance-pop gem that is sure to lift your spirits. With organic, breezy melodies that softly roll into a groovy breakdown, "Be Okay" evokes images of those times spent with loved ones and friends old and new that can seem so far away given the current state of the world. HRVY's soulful vocals give the heartfelt lyrics life, and the track's accompanying music video is just the type of feel-good content we need right now. The song sends a simple and yet powerful message - that we're all in this together, and everything is truly going to be okay. R3HAB and HRVY weight in on the new single below:  "When Harvey reached out to me, I sent him the song, and he recorded his vocals in no time. From the first time I heard it, I knew we had something special to give to our fans. I hope they like the end result as much as we do, and 'Be okay' will make the quarantine period more bearable for everyone who listens to it." - R3HAB "I heard this song months before I recorded it, and it put a smile on my face.
