JAMIE XX Releases new music ‘Idontknow’ out now via Young Turks

by the partae April 16, 2020
written by the partae

Ending months of speculation about exactly who’s behind one of the year’s most talked-about and sought after club tracks, Jamie xx today releases ‘Idontknow‘. Available via Young Turks / Remote Control Records, ‘Idontknow’ is Jamie’s first solo artist release since his highly acclaimed BRIT and GRAMMY® nominated 2015 debut album In Colour.

Without knowing the artist behind it, people have been raving to ‘Idontknow‘ since late autumn 2019 when Jamie first debuted the track. Since then, the track has taken on a life of its own in clubs and on dancefloors around the world, garnering huge support from the likes of Ben UFO, Four Tet, Caribou, HAAi and Bicep, or via Jamie’s own residency on NTS Radio and the series of last-minute, word-of-mouth parties he threw in aid of the MIND and CALM charities at north London’s the Cause (where he was joined by the likes of Four Tet, HAAi and Koreless) and beyond.

Today, ‘Idontknow‘ finally gets a full release, first through digital services but with a 12” available exclusively via independent retailers coming around 1st May (UK) with the rest of the world to follow. It comes hot on the heels of Jamie’s recent collaboration with Headie One and Fred Again.. on ‘Smoke‘ from their acclaimed GANG mixtape.

MAMMALS releases ethereal clip for ‘Mansion’, filmed in New York

by the partae April 16, 2020
written by the partae

“Brings the vibes. Brings the smiles.”
– Richard Kingsmill, triple j

“it’s like a solo swim out to sea in a calm ocean. there’s still a pull to it but nothing sinister or strong, it makes you feel safe and at home.”
– Declan Byrne, triple j

“It’s a song that stops you in your tracks and effortlessly commands your attention”
–  Emma Jones, Purple Sneakers

Fresh off a premiere yesterday with Purple Sneakers, Mammals has today delivered an abstract and eerie music video for his recent single ‘Mansion’ – a deeply emotive track dedicated to exploring the intricacies of human existence.

Directed by Jordan Lister and filmed at The 1896 in New York, the video beautifully pairs a water-inspired colour palette within the sparse Brooklyn warehouse location. The track itself explores the feeling of “being totally consumed under oceans of powers we can’t control” and the feeling of being lost in a proverbial abyss is reflected back with the clever choreography and use of poly silk. Brooklyn Dancer Kai Paii acts almost as a figure of Guy (Mammals) memory, entangling herself within a moment in time.

Following its release, ‘Mansion’ has already proven a strong addition to Mammals’ catalogue, receiving a premiere on triple j’s Good Nights and landing on the likes of Spotify’s ‘New Dance Beats’ and Apple Music’s ‘New Music Daily’, ‘ALT CTRL’, ‘Future Sounds’ and Heaps Indie’.  It is only the latest in his long string of successes, including support slots on the Australian tours of The 1975 and Of Monsters and Men, and a collection of songs spanning over 12 million streams.

The year is still young for this impressive Mollymook local with more music to come and live shows on the horizon. For now, be immersed in ‘Mansion’ from your own mansion as you ponder humanity’s existence in these interesting times.

MARDI LUMSDEN DEBUT ALBUM ‘HIATUS’ OUT NOW

by the partae April 15, 2020
written by the partae
“a sanguine and superb songbird.”
– Life Music Media“A bewitching collection of alt-folk anthems.”
– The Courier Mail

“Sparkling alt-folk gems.”
– The Age EG

Longstanding Brisbane folk artist Mardi Lumsden has today released her debut album Hiatus, a collection of dreamy folk songs filled with heart, soul and commentary on human nature.

The next step in an already long and illustrious career, Hiatus is an eleven-track delight showcasing Mardi’s signature ability to weave heartfelt stories together using banjos, keyboards and electronic drums to create a unique genre of dream folk –  a fusion of the ethereal atmospheres and textures creating a mixture of dream pop with acoustic-based folk.  Recorded and produced by her husband Andrew Pennay in their converted church-turned home studio, tracks such as ‘Juniper Trees’, ‘Someday’ and ‘Treasure Like This’ are delicate, warm and truly uplifting.

The album’s release is punctuated by the focus track ‘Fiore’, written under the inspiration of an Italian summer and the beauty of letting go of relationships. “It’s about releasing your expectations and accepting that endings also mean new beginnings,” Mardi explains. Her most recent single, ‘Heading Home,’ also featured on Double J’s Tower of Song with Henry Wagons.

Previous success for Mardi Lumsden has included songs from her EP Wherever you go, there you are being featured on Australian TV shows such as Channel 7’s Winners and Losers, ABC’s Dance Academy and ABC’s Time of Our Lives. Also recorded in a church-turned-recording studio (ARIA-winning producer Magoo’s Applewood Studios), ‘Classified’ from the EP received the Q Song Award in the Folk/Ballad category and was nominated for Song of The Year as well as an Australian Songwriting Association award.

TATYANA Signs to Sinderlyn Releases debut single 'Wild Card'

TATYANA Signs to Sinderlyn Releases debut single ‘Wild Card’

by the partae April 15, 2020
written by the partae

Emerging U.K.-based singer, producer and harpist TATYANA has today shared her stunning debut single and video ‘Wild Card’. Born to Russian and English parents, TATYANA is a new signing to Sinderlyn – sister label to Captured Tracks.

Speaking about ‘Wild Card’, TATYANA added “I wrote this song about an imaginary Russian lover I never had. There’s a place in the Russian countryside I used to go to as a kid with a beautiful river and a tiny village. I imagined what it might be like to grow up in a place like that and wanting to break free and go see the rest of the distant, outside world. It’s about first love and believing it will go on forever because you’re bonded by your dreams and your memories.”

In 2018, classically-trained harp player TATYANA walked into an underground rave in London. Thrilled by the sense of community that drove the party, she made it a goal to play her own music in this kind of environment some day. No surprise, that’s exactly what she did the following year. It’s not the kind of show one might expect an artist with her background to play, but this is how things happen in TATYANA’s world – her moves seem surprising until you realize they’ve made perfect sense all along.

TATYANA lived in Holland, Russia, Singapore, and Boston – where she attended Berklee College of Music on a full scholarship – before settling back in her hometown of London in 2017; the transient nature of her upbringing has certainly informed her music. From underground raves to viral YouTube covers to playing harp on tour with Neneh Cherry, there seems to be no scene that she doesn’t thrive in. Her new music is a multi-faceted product of all of that experience, the kind of precisely produced, impossibly catchy pop that takes other artists entire careers to nail.

It makes sense, considering all of this, that when asked to describe her music, TATYANA picks a color instead of a sound. She chooses the color blue, for the sense of peaceful melancholy that underpins even her most upbeat tracks. It’s not quite sad or happy; like everything with TATYANA, it’s content to sit somewhere in between.

Project 46 returns from 4-year hiatus with their stunning new track "Remember You," a gorgeous vocal single that exemplifies the progressive house in its heyday. Opening with delicate melodies and soulful vocals, the lyrics of "Remember You" are allowed to shine before Project 46 eases into a goosebump-inducing, euphoric progressive drop. With lines like "dance until the night turns just to remember you," the record evokes memories of the nights we wished would never end; these are the types of experiences that every dance music fan holds close to their heart and the kind of romanticism that lives at the deep core of the genre. Wistful and inspirational at once, "Remember You" will whisk you away to some of the most serendipitous memories of your life. Project 46 has been hard at work in the studio, and the duo has more singles scheduled for release this year, including another much-anticipated collaboration with Kaskade. Canadian duo Ryan Henderson and Thomas Shaw, better known as Project 46, is known for their melodic, progressive sound that never fails to inspire and uplift listeners. They began Project 46 in 2011 and were active until 2016, with releases on Ultra Records, Monstercat, Armada, Mixmash, and collaborations such as "Last Chance" with Kaskade (which was featured on Kaskade's "Atmosphere" album), "Collide" with Laidback Luke, "Crime" with Avicii, "Daphne" with Paul Oakenfold, and "Home" with Feenixpawl, to name a few. 2020 marks the comeback of Project 46, and they're already off to a strong start with "Remember You." We're looking forward to more beautiful, vocal-driven dance tracks coming from the talented duo later this year!

PRAISE FOR ALTOPALO "The junk drawer in your house if it was music: bewildering and wondrous." NYLON Magazine "An effortless showcase of the band's ability to melt the boundaries of their music, infusing every release with an experimental flare." The Line of Best Fit "a masterclass in atmospheric release, evolving with eerie synths, flourishing guitar, and commanding beats." Pitchfork Today, envelope-pushing, enigmatic New York four-piece altopalo share their latest single, 'nocturne'. Following on from the previously released 'honey' and 'am i am', 'nocturne' is the third track to be taken from their forthcoming second LP, farawayfromeveryoneyouknow, out April 24th via Samedi Records. Listen HERE. Described by the band as "an inconclusive attempt at making insomnia danceable," 'nocturne' captures that liminal space where "you twist and turn in bed, filled with childish worry. The mind envisioning shadow ghouls and manticores is the only thing between you and that sweet, sweet closure of a day well-lived."  Appropriately, 'nocturne' feels this battle within itself, embodying the conflict between tortured wakefulness and rest with hypnotic, lullaby plucking guitars and twinkling synths neutralized by processed melodies that twist and contort into undefinable shapes and lead singer Rahm Silverglade's cooing vocals that sit somewhere between soothing and anxious: "Too hot, too stressed out / Oh, it's been so long / Think I'm depressed now." Veterans of the New York underground scene, the four members of Altopalo disintegrate the boundaries of genre, folding in elements of electronica, ambient, and jazz through their deconstructionist approach to indie rock reminiscent of artists such as Bon Iver, Moses Sumney, and King Krule. Described by the foursome as “ruminations on a transitional period”, their second full-length reveals a more human side to Altopalo than was on show throughout their introspective debut, representing something of a rebirth. Beneath their alien musical transmissions, they deal with thoroughly modern themes of anxiety, embracing your fears and the rejection of self-care as a lifestyle brand.  On the band’s 2018 debut LP, frozenthere, which garnered praise from Pitchfork, Fader, Billboard, Consequence of Sound and more, they decontextualised their instruments into atmospherics and walls of sound. Their recording process, made up of long improvisations, recorded in full before being whittled down into loops, progressions and fragments, is best thought of as Altopalo creating, pulling apart and then trying to piece a jigsaw puzzle back together again. Now, on farawayfromeveryoneyouknow, they hone and expand that sound, opening up new avenues for their music through their dizzying experimentalism.  'nocturne' by Altopalo is out now, buy/stream it here. The Virtual Day party will stay true to all facets of the Untitled’s renowned ‘day party’ events in their uniqueness & quality on all fronts from lineup, to production, to location. “I’m super excited to be a part of this showcase, we really wanted to do something that was as visually engaging as it was attractive to the ears. I hope it makes people’s Saturday evening ISO-beers a little bit more enjoyable,” explains Dom.

The Virtual Day Party will take place on Saturday 18th of April and can be streamed for free via Untitled Group’s facebook page. Sign up here to go into the draw to win a season pass to all of Untitled Group’s events for a year (including Beyond the Valley, Pitch Music & Arts, Grapevine Gathering, Untitled Day Parties, Ability Fest & more), an online meet and greet with the artist of your choice, a $150 voucher to Chin Chin, a $100 alcohol delivery voucher, a case of Red Bull & more.

Untitled Group has filmed the Virtual Day Party in accordance with the government advice and legislation in place at the time of filming. Untitled Group supports the #savethesummer campaign, urging festivalgoers and music fans to take all precautions to stop the spread of the virus in order to save lives and ensure that summer 2020 will see the resurgence of live music and entertainment. Stay home, stay safe and #SaveTheSummer”.

Untitled Group would like to thank lighting, production and film operators Lightning Lighting, Enamoured Iris, Matthew Jens and Unknown Vision, for kindly contributing their time to make this concept come to life.

Dom Dolla

Dom Dolla 2x ARIA nominated house dj/producer from Melbourne. His festival banger “San Frandisco’ recently came in at #33 in triple j’s hottest 100. Dom’s signature sound has seen him commissioned to remix Dua Lipa, RÜFÜS DU SOL, Hayden James, MK and more whilst pooling over 100+ million streams across Spotify & Apple Music, accompanied by global radio support as well as scoring a Gold record, 2x ARIA nominations and 5x ARIA Club #1’s.

Having recently sold out his headline show at the Coburg Velodrome, Dom will be showcasing a teaser of his forthcoming national tour which has been rescheduled to October this year around the country.

Willaris. K

Tastemaker and producer Willaris. K had his triple j supported break-out single “Alchemy” back in 2018 and has never looked back. His sophisticated techno has seen him earn fans in Pete Tong, sell-out shows in Australia and play at festivals including Coachella, Splendour in the Grass, Lollapalooza, Beyond the Valley, Wildlands, Forbidden Fruit and more. He’s just released brand new EP ‘LUSTRE’.

Torren Foot

Perpetually ahead of the curve, house producer Torren Foot was raised on the working docks of Melbourne’s inner west, and is now a fixture of Aussie club culture as one of the countries most in demand touring dj’s – he recently gained international attention following the release of ‘More Life’ topping #1 Beatport overall, support from tastemakers Adam Beyer, Claptone, Mat.Joe, Wax Motif & Destructo to name a few and A-list radio support from triple j.

Torren’s previous works have scored him an ARIA nomination for best dance release of collaborative single ‘Be Randy’ alongside Dom Dolla. Successive ARIA #1 club tracks ‘Hot Sauce’ & ‘Be Randy’ and notable remix of Tiga’s  ‘Bugati’ via Mad Decent/Turbo recordings.

Festival highlight performances include Beyond The Valley and Falls Festival, Torren is emerging as one of the country’s most well respected and high demand producer DJs.

Jordan Brando

Recognised by BBC Radio 1’s Pete Tong & tastemakers globally, Jordan’s abilities as a DJ and a producer raise no questions to why he is “a rising star in Australian dance music.” Standout performances at revered festivals Beyond the Valley and Pitch Music & Arts, and being handpicked to share the stage with the likes of Patrick Topping to Jamie Jones, have all contributed to solidifying Brando’s name as one Australia’s most promising dance music exports.

Elizabeth Cambage

Vaulting a solid basketball career, it’s her passion for music that has taken to the centre of her court, reeling in a fashionable barrage of attention in the electronic scene. Gracing the console at For The Love, Groovin’ The Moo Festival, Melbourne’s iconic institution Revolver, through to events for global brands like Adidas during Coachella week, Liz Cambage’s sound has travelled. Not only has she graced stages across the globe, but has too supported some of the world’s most renowned musical icons from Mary J Blige to Steve Aoki, sitting firmly amongst some of the highly influential pioneers.

London Topaz

With a style reminiscent of top-tier electronic artists such as RÜFÜS DU SOL and Hayden James, London Topaz’s sound has captured the attention of dance music enthusiasts globally. With enthralling performances at his sold-out headline show, Beyond the Valley festival & For The Love, it’s no question why London Topaz has cemented himself as one of Australia’s top emerging talents.

METHYL ETHEL Hurts To Laugh EP out now!

by the partae April 14, 2020
written by the partae

Methyl Ethel’s new EP Hurts To Laugh is out now via Dot Dash Recordings / Remote Control Records. To celebrate the release of Hurts To Laugh the band have shared an Instagram filter which utilises the stunning EP artwork by Loribelle Spirovski. Try and share the Instagram filter via this link.

Hurts To Laugh marks the ongoing output of Methyl Ethel producer and multi-instrumentalist Jake Webb’s restless mind. Time and again he’s proven that while there’s no distinction between music and art, psychologically speaking there is a difference between feeling and emotion. One is a conscious response to a set of circumstances, the other is the unconscious conditions of our very being that only occasionally surfaces through feelings. Hurts To Laugh excavates this ambiguous site, implied by its very title. You can laugh so hard it hurts – pure joy. Or laugh despite the pain – despair. These paradoxes run throughout the EP, as well as everything that came before.

‘Majestic AF’ stumbles into its bubbling oscillator and analogue polyrhythms, while a kick-free drumbeat marches right into an atonal synth melody supporting Webb’s equally idiosyncratic falsetto.

Hurts To Laugh was recorded at the same time as 2019’s Triage and both releases feature cover art by Sydney-based artist Loribelle Spirovski. Triage was Webb’s third and final album in a trilogy of obliquely expressed relationship drama, starting with 2015’s Oh Inhuman Spectacle which features certified ARIA Gold single ‘Twilight Driving’. 2017’s Everything Is Forgotten birthed the sensational single ‘Ubu’ which is now certified ARIA Platinum.

Methyl Ethel is a project that’s the brainchild of a single mind—writer, performer and producer Webb—while also being a live band of five members. It makes music that draws from myriad influences and a history of new wave and indie rock, while sounding like its own thing entirely. Both familiar and alien, intimate and aloof, you never quite know what you’re in for, but the trip is bound to be enchanting.

Rescheduled dates for Methyl Ethel’s American tour (supporting Peter, Bjorn & John) and intimate Australian solo EP tour have been announced. Methyl Ethel will tour USA and Australia starting late September through October – including sold-out shows in Sydney & Melbourne. The full band will also appear at Splendour In The Grass. The full run of updated tour dates linked below.

After spending the past year laying low writing in the studio, SOPHIYA returned in style just last month with hard-hitting latest single ‘Rosie’. Today she doubles down on the bold release with a bad-ass cinematic music video, dripping with next level visuals and attitude. Inspired by the film Tokyo Drift, and paying homage to the video game Need For Speed, the music video is directed by Johnny Yayo, with SOPHIYA herself stepping up as creative director (alongside Aman Bayatly) to create what is a music video aesthetic unlike any other. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8ZTNdKjpLJk SOPHIYA said of the clip "I am so grateful to have been able to make this piece in collaboration with the culture, for the culture. Even during this time, we can still stay connected, collaborate ideas and be creative. Enjoy the visuals!" Shot over two days in February, including shutting down Napier Street in Melbourne’s Fitzroy for five hours, SOPHIYA leans completely into her role as one of Australian hip hop’s most exciting up and comers with this bold and unapologetic visual statement. Flanked by some of Melbourne’s finest renowned dancers, Xavier Gibson and Monique Nightingale, the clip also features over $1.2M worth of luxury and exotic cars including a Bentley Continental GT, a Lamborghini Huracan and a Rolls Royce Ghost. Alongside the prestigious cars, the clip also showcases the underground JDM car culture courtesy of Sarah Bahrou from Status Seasonal (JDM Car Club). From channeling The Godfather by cradling her chihuahua, "Juicy", to honouring her proud Greek heritage in opening scenes, ‘Rosie’ is quintessentially SOPHIYA as she champions not only herself and her talents, but her community as well. From fashion influencers and designers through to the underground hip-hop community and beyond, SOPHIYA is bringing her community together every step of the way. ‘Rosie’ is SOPHIYA’s first single since her incendiary debut, ‘White Ivory’ in 2018. Following the release of recent ep, Molly & Sally, Russian DJ and producer, Yulia Niko, returns with a special ambient podcast, designed to heal and soothe during these difficult times. Of the mix, Yulia says: “When life situations happen suddenly beyond our preparation, we are faced with uncertainty and with that despair, worry and all the negative thought processes that jolt us out of reality. Music helps to heal so I created this mix combining different styles of music, great for meditation, resting, yoga, cooking or working at home. I wanted to make something that will motivate people and for them to not give up or fall into depression while under the current circumstances of COV-19. ‘Fall In Love With Yourself’ was the first name of the mix but I realized that I am manifesting my love to others. It’s not only about one person, it’s about all of us. Together we are stronger.  Enjoy my special podcast for meditation and conscious healing. Namaste. Yours, YN”. Drawing inspiration from Detroit and Chicago house, Yulia’s unique sound has seen her become resident DJ as Berlin’s Watergate club and release on labels such as Crosstown Rebels and Get Physical. Along the way she has also gained recognition from tastemakers like Jamie Jones and Damian Lazarus, plus underground plays on John Digweed’s Transitions podcast. Niko was intoxicated with dance music from a young age and soon got her first residency in Sochi. She has since spent time in New York before settling in Berlin and has now set up her own vinyl only Tochno Techno label. She has also released on Baile Musik, Nervous Records, Plant74, played parties in LA and continues to make musical waves. VIOLENT SOHO SCORE ARIA #1 WITH FIFTH STUDIO ALBUM EVERYTHING IS A-OK

VIOLENT SOHO SCORE ARIA #1 WITH FIFTH STUDIO ALBUM EVERYTHING IS A-OK

by the partae April 12, 2020
written by the partae
“Violent Soho are more vital than ever when nothing is A-OK. In some ways, Everything Is A-OK is their least ambitious album, but arguably their most accomplished.”– triple j

“Never has an album felt more relevant. Everything is A-OK unrelentingly strives for positivity in the age of uncertainty. It’s the “fuck it” tonic we all need.” – The Brag

“…Soho have delivered a calm and more chilled offering, that still packs that iconic Mansfield punch where it’s needed the most.” – Wall Of Sound – 8/10 stars

“Everything Is A-OK is Violent Soho’s most profound and genuine project to date.”
– Play Too Much

“Violent Soho have brought the gig to our living rooms and made us forget about the impending doom around us for 34 glorious minutes.” – Tone Deaf (AOTW)

It is with immense pride and excitement that I OH YOU share that Violent Soho’s hugely anticipated fifth studio album Everything Is A-OK has debuted at #1 on the ARIA album chart. This marks the second time the band have snagged the top spot, after their last release WACO (which scored 2 x ARIA Awards, the 2017 AIR Award for Best Hard Rock, Metal or Punk album and is certified ARIA Gold) topped the national chart in 2016.

This tremendous win is a testament to both Violent Soho’s undeniable talent and hard work, and to Australia’s thriving and intertwined music community that the band have been an active part of for the past 16 years. The return of Soho saw the support of local publications, dedicated independently owned record stores and of course, their fiercely loyal fans and peers, as they rallied around four everyday mates, to see an independent band from Mansfield take out the #1 slot.

“We’re stoked!” – Violent Soho
From the outset of this project, the band wanted to drive fans back to the indie record stores that they grew up frequenting and that played a massive part in their success. They sold hard-copy tickets to their last headline shows, along with a limited blue colourway of their new album on 12” Vinyl, exclusively at the independently owned Rocking Horse, Red Eye and Oh! Jean Records, and consistently pushed album sales through these, and many other local stores, especially when these local businesses were forced to close shop or change to a pickup or online only model due to the Covid-19 pandemic.

Despite the global crisis hindering physical sales and ceasing live performances, the Mansfield four-piece held off fierce competition to claim the #1, proving their timely return to be exactly what the ears of Australia needed.

With the whole world staying home, and no option to host instore signings or play live shows, Violent Soho had to put on their creative hats to find a way to connect with fans on release day. They organised an online listening party via Facebook Live and YouTube that saw them listen to the album in full along with their fans, in arguably Australia’s biggest online listening party, as they answered questions live from thousands of fans who tuned in from around the world.

In a time where things do not feel so A-OK, and people are feeling incredibly isolated, Violent Soho have united a community, and proven (yet again) that there is an undeniable thirst for great Australian music. Support for the band has flooded the nation’s screens, radio airwaves, streaming services, and digital and print media, with Everything Is A-OK scoring the Feature Album on triple j and coming in as the #1 New Release on both Spotify and Apple Music.

Working with Australian producer Greg Wales (You Am I, Sandpit, triple J’s Like A Version), Everything Is A-OK is an honest record that reflects a band who have found peace with who they are. They’ve done the hard work, there is no bullsh*t. This album is an honest piece of art that they as a collective group (along with Wales) are so excited about and proud of. It is a cathartic vent of our shared frustrations, one which could not have come at a better time.

by the partae April 11, 2020
written by the partae

This Saturday, April 11, Martin Garrix will treat fans to an exclusive live set coming straight from his rooftop in Amsterdam to your home. From 7PM CEST/1PM EST people from all over the world are able to watch the set on Garrix’s YouTube page.

During the stream Garrix will showcase a brand new live set which will include numerous exclusive IDs, some from Garrix himself and others forthcoming on his STMPD RCRDS imprint, as well as some of his biggest hits.

Due to the major changes in every day life at the moment, Garrix wants to offer some support through music. Garrix: I’m really gutted I’m not able to perform at the moment and I really miss it. However, this is needed to try and protect as many people as possible from the virus and safe lives. Hopefully I’m able to lift some spirits and make people forget the whole situation for a little while.

After STMPD RCRDS’ 24 hour festival two weeks ago it’s now time for the label boss to show his skills live from his own home. Tune in April 11, 7PM CEST at youtube.com/MartinGarrix to watch Garrix in action.

Alle Farben is next up to remix Martin Garrix’s ‘Drown’

by the partae April 10, 2020
written by the partae
After Nicky Romero’s remix of ‘Drown‘ last week, it’s now time for Alle Farben to infuse Martin Garrix’s collaboration with Clinton Kane with his sound.

Alle Farben is without a doubt one of the most established and successful German artists in both pop and dance music. Adding his hard hitting sound to the original, it allows for a broad array of sounds to come through and reinforce the track.

Talking about the remix he said the following: ‘’Releasing a remix never made me feel so proud. Especially when working with an artist like Martin Garrix! I am incredibly happy to put my spin on Martin’s new single ‘Drown’! I hope you love it as much as I do!”

Meanwhile, Garrix is not sitting still as usual. Coming Saturday he will do an exclusive liveset from his home in Amsterdam, which will feature loads of new music. Next to that, he can be seen in the series &Music from the new streaming service Quibi with his light director and creative director Gabe Fraboni.

UK Acid House pioneers Orbital release a rare rework of Joris Voorn’s seminal track ‘Never’ The remix of ‘Never’ by Orbital is out now

by the partae April 10, 2020

LISTEN HERE
“’Never’ was mainly inspired by so-called ‘Intelligent Dance Music’ from the mid-’90s, and it went on to become one of my favourite tracks on this album. Orbital were such a formative and pioneering force in this scene and have been a huge influence on my sound. To have them remix one of my tracks is a massive honour for me”
Joris Voorn

Phil and Paul Hartnoll are the brothers hailing from Kent best known as Orbital, undoubtedly one of the UK’s most pioneering electronic acts of all time.

Named after the London Orbital Motorway which circled the M25 illegal raves, the Hartnoll’s have come from the epicentre of the acid house scene and given a face to electronic music in the form of their diverse and innovative productions alongside an energetic and pioneering live show.

The brothers have delivered a rare remix of Joris Voorn’s ‘Never’ which was released on his \\\\ [four] album late last year, and inspired by the mid 90s sound reminiscent of classic Orbital electronic anthems.

Orbital’s contribution towards Joris’ seminal track ‘Never’ is a multilayered and complex affair, combining elements of stripped back electro, rolling UK breaks infused with key components of the classic and distinctly euphoric Orbital sound. Whilst continuing to build an intense wall of sound with their crisp production credentials, the brother’s throw in a moment of rave history with some serious hands in the air synth stabs that tastefully combines with Joris’ signature melody from the original outing.
