NERVE SHARES NEW TRACK ‘ONE IN A MILLION’ FT. JK-47 TALL POPPY SEASON EP OUT MAY 21

Since first collaborating, the two have worked tirelessly to hone their individual crafts while dominating the local scene. This new release is a slice of hyperactive bravado that sees the two rapidly trade verses over bombastic production, proving that their talents really are ‘One In A Million’. Together, Nerve and JK-47 deliver a downright anthemic call to calls – believe and you too shall prosper. ‘One In A Million’ Nerve reveals is a song “made for anyone that’s wary of stepping outside the box and questioning the systems that they find themselves living in. Everyone can be one in a million at something – you just need to find your thing and put your heart and soul into it.”

Reflecting on the inspiration, he continues “I knew people would expect a lot from JK and myself with anything we put out, given our previous releases. I wanted to create something uplifting and energetic but also allow space for us to touch on real issues that we resonate with socially and politically – all while making a tune that will slap at a festival and blow the trunk out of a Nissan skyline.”

After dominating Australia’s underground rap/grime scenes, performing at festivals nationwide, and collaborating with international heavy-hitters like Aitch; Meanjin/Brisbane talent Nerve will release his Tall Poppy Season EP on May 21. Including the previously released ‘Missed Calls’, praised by triple j, NME, RAGE, Acclaim, and more and recent hit ‘Migraines’, Nerve bridges his preference for assertive bars with his ear for infectious pop melodies into his most accomplished and versatile effort yet. Tall Poppy Season flexes his production chops with beats that bring you from the club to the bedroom, while lyrically touching on his vulnerability and uncertainty as a young artist.

Nerve final words are delivered with a sense of motivation. “This is for anyone that is hesitant to be seen as a tall poppy and achieve their goals and dreams,” Nerve says. “Don’t let anyone try and cut you down to size. You will always grow back twice as high.”
