CC:DISCO! ANNOUNCES FIRST LIGHT (VOL II) OUT FRIDAY 7 MAY + SHARES FIRST DOUBLE RELEASE 'VGF (DUB)' BY DONALD'S HOUSE & LIPELIS / 'LAAMORE' BY HIDDEN SPHERES

Soothsayer are thrilled to announce the second instalment of CC:DISCO!’s First Light compilation series, to be released as a limited transparent orange double LP and digitally (with an additional 12 tracks) on Friday 7 May. Today, CC:DISCO! shares the first two tracks from the highly anticipated release; ‘VGF (DUB)’ from Donald’s House & Lipelis and Hidden Spheres’ ‘Laamore’.

‘VGF (DUB)’ is an 80s flecked Italo-Disco track by Melbourne brothers, Donald’s House (Permanent Vacation, Touch From A Distance) – an act that CC:DISCO! says has been on her radar since the very start of their career, and Moscow-based producer Lipelis (Animals Dancing, Public Possession), a scene stalwart who wowed local crowd’s at 2018’s Dark Mofo.

‘VGF (DUB)’ is complemented by the dreamy ‘Laamore’ from Manchester staple Hidden Spheres (Lobster Theremin, Rhythm Section International), a UK tastemaker with millions of streams on Spotify and a revered monthly show on NTS Radio. ‘Laamore’ is a floaty, Lo-Fi composition that beautifully bookends this tasty double release.

“‘Laamore’ I must say is a track that kept me sane in the year that was 2020, every time I play it makes me feel calm and happy. Basically, if a song could whisper in your ear “everything’s gonna be alright” this would be that song.”

Both tracks premiered overnight on Les Yeux Orange, with ‘Laamore’ making its local radio debut on FBi radio on Monday.

While First Light (Vol I) focused on Australian and New Zealand underground talent – the likes of Roza Terenzi, Love Deluxe, Nite Fleit and Sui Zhen, Soothsayer Presents: First Light (Vol II) Compiled by CC:DISCO! was curated while CC:DISCO! was based in Europe over the last 12 months and offers listeners an open invitation to discover upcoming and unsung talents not only from Australia, but from across the globe in Russia, Japan, Zambia, Spain, Sweden, Indonesia, US, Canada and beyond. Across the 24 exclusive tracks (digital only), CC:DISCO! explores the scopes of jazz, Balearic, disco, house, trance and techno, affirming her status as a dedicated tastemaker.

In fitting form, CC:DISCO! recently brought back dancing with her explosive performance at Sidney Myer Music Bowl’s Sun Cycle last month, after having recently returned to the country post a long stint in Portugal. To say she is excited by what’s on the horizon is an understatement…. watch this space!
