In December 2019, XL Recordings announced that the acclaimed, Chicago-based jazz musician Makaya McCraven is to release a unique reimagining of I’m New Here, the final album by the late, legendary musician, poet and author Gil Scott-Heron. Titled We’re New Again, the album will be released on February 7th and marks the tenth anniversary of I’m New Here. It’s the second full-length interpretation of the album, following Jamie xx’s 2011 We’re New Here album. First conceptualised in 2005, and ultimately produced, by Richard Russell during New York recording sessions commencing in January 2008, I’m New Here was Gil Scott-Heron’s first album in thirteen years and found him sounding as vital and insightful as ever before, as Russell wrapped a minimal and electronic sonic world around Scott-Heron’s raw vocals. On We’re New Again, those original sessions now have a complete new context, using samples collected from McCraven’s improvised live sessions with new wave Chicago jazz musicians and vintage samples taken from McCraven’s musician parents’ recordings. It’s a musical situation that reconnects Scott-Heron with his hometown of Chicago, and a lineage of jazz and the blues that perfectly compliments his voice. Today sees the release of the first piece of music from the album: McCraven’s reimagining of ‘Where Did The Night Go’. It’s a perfect example of McCraven’s approach to the record and features a sample from the Stephen McCraven Quartet’s ‘Silhouette of Eric’. Makaya McCraven, whose work Richard Russell first discovered after hearing McCraven’s 2017’s Highly Rare album, is widely regarded as one of the most exciting and original voices in modern jazz. Equally renowned and revered as a musician, drummer, beat-maker and producer, McCraven has released a run of records that are at once genre-defying and redefining such as Universal Beings, Highly Rare and Where We Come From (Chicago x London mixtape) for the highly influential Chicago label International Anthem. Algiers have debuted new track and video ‘We Can’t Be Found’, taken from the London/NYC four-piece’s highly anticipated third album There Is No Year, out January 17 on Matador Records / Remote Control. The mesmerising visual for the sinuous, dub-inflected song, which builds to a soaring, cascading chorus, propelled by the powerhouse vocals of frontman Franklin James Fisher, was directed by Ian Cone. “I always feel the most successful music videos are the ones that are reflective and convey the mood of the song to the listener over everything else,” says guitarist Lee Tesche. “In this instance, we collaborated with the artist Lloyd Benjamin, trying to frame some of his sculpture work in a more abstracted way, referencing the urban dystopian cityscapes found in the German expressionist films of the 1930s. The result aspires to be somewhere in between the unsettling work of Darius Khondji and the set design of The Cabinet of Dr. Caligari or Fritz Lang's Metropolis.” ‘We Can’t Be Found’ follows the release of ‘Void’, accompanied by a visceral live video shot in the band’s hometown of Atlanta, as well as the video for ‘Dispossession’, filmed in the Noisy le Grand suburbs of Paris. The Guardian described the latter track as “powered, as ever, by the soapbox preacher vocals of Franklin James Fisher, and amplified by portentous gospel backing vocals, the Atlanta group anthemically square up to oppression”. There Is No Year was recorded in New York throughout 2019 by childhood friends and Atlanta natives Franklin James Fisher, Ryan Mahan and Lee Tesche, as well as drummer Matt Tong (ex-Bloc Party), alongside producers Randall Dunn (Sunn O))), Earth, Oren Ambarchi) and Ben Greenberg (Zs, Uniform, The Men). The album is titled after author and fellow Atlanta native Blake Butler’s novel of the same name, a major inspiration to the band over the course of the album’s making. “Even those aware of the ideals of this outspoken four-piece will find their latest direction on There Is No Year traversing unprecedented ground,” says Butler in his bio for the album. From the instant synth-pulse of the opening seconds of There is No Year, it’s clear that Algiers have set out to stake new ground, internally as much as sonically. At the forefront of this evolution is the centrality of power housed in Algiers’ multi-instrumentalist lead vocalist, Franklin James Fisher, whose voice and words provide the backbone of the album, his lyrics sourced entirely from an epic poem, Misophonia, composed during his search for meaning amidst a protracted personal period of anxiety and lack. There Is No Year encompasses future-minded post-punk R&B from the trapped heart of ATL, where they began; to industrial soundscapes à la 4AD-era Scott Walker or Iggy & Bowie’s Berlin period; to something like the synthetic son of Marvin Gaye and Fever Ray. The whip-tight rhythm section of multi-instrumentalist Ryan Mahan and Matt Tong moves back and forth from infectious menace to sci-fi soundtrack to big band fever dream. Mahan’s beat programming and synth constructions fill out the fibrous threshold, while Tesche’s sound-sleeves and aural-layering shapeshift into a richly polished means of exploration, revealing more and more the deeper you delve. Wild Nothing - the project of Richmond, VA-based Jack Tatum - will release his new EP, Laughing Gas, on January 31st on Captured Tracks / Remote Control, and today presents 'Foyer,' the propulsive, synth-funk lead single. Laughing Gas is the third EP from Wild Nothing, and follows his recently released album, Live From Brooklyn Steel. Tatum delves deeper into the territory where he thrives: namely, the synth and sophisti-pop of the 1980s. Working within a more mechanical and synthetic framework than his previous releases, Wild Nothing continues to delicately toe the line between the organic and the unnatural. These are still pop songs, but there’s an underlying sense of uneasiness that threads the music together. Recorded in Los Angeles and Richmond with the help of Jorge Elbrecht, these five songs were originally imagined alongside last year's Indigo and were written and tracked simultaneously with the album. When work on the full-length was nearing completion, Tatum set these ideas aside; they seemed to fit better on their own. In spare moments between tours, Tatum began to look back and piece the songs together at his home studio in Richmond, reconnecting with Elbrecht to mix the EP. “I think of the EP’s title as being representative of a kind of manufactured bliss and loss of control,” says Tatum. “So much of people’s lives are caught up in the quest for wholeness and sometimes it feels so much easier to loosen our grip through these fabricated shortcuts, whether it’s escapism, self-medication, seeking external validation or any number of other things. I often find myself guilty of almost all of these, but ultimately I think this EP finds me in a place of trying to go easier on myself. I've been extremely fortunate to continue releasing the music I love after 10 years of Wild Nothing and this release feels no different.” Wild Nothing - 'Foyer' Purchase / Stream: https://WildNothing.lnk.to/LaughingGas

Where are you currently based and what is the music scene like there?

I’m currently based in Bali. There’s so many different music scenes in Bali from traditional music to the underground scene.

How did you first start singing and playing music?

I was interested in music from a young age and played my first instrument at 6years old. As a young teenager I explored all types of instruments and listened to all kinds of different music that inspired me to start writing, make music and learn how to sing.

You’ve recently landed in Australia, how’s it been so far?

Melbourne has been amazing, I’ve seen a lot of great bands, underground culture, street art and skateboarding scene. The city is so inspiring.

You’ve just released your debut 14 track album ‘The Time Is Now’ what influenced the sound and songwriting?

The influence mostly comes from the 50’s era to the 70s punk and rock and roll. My songwriting is mostly influenced from my own life experiences.

How did you go about writing the music and over what time period were the songs written?

There are both English and Indonesian songs on my album which I have written over the past few years. Some songs came to me effortlessly but others took a little longer.

Where and when did you record and who with?

I recorded my album between Jakarta and Bali with a lot of talented musicians. I finished the album with my producer Cipta Gun at his studio in Bali.

How did you approach the recording process?

Some songs were recorded live and other songs were recorded track by track between Jakarta and Bali.

What programs/instruments did you use to record/produce/master?

We used all live recorded instruments and protools to master.

What did you find most challenging and rewarding during the songwriting and recording process?

The most challenging thing was probably scheduling everyone’s time to record. The most rewarding thing was being able to compose my music with so many talented people.

Where can we buy/listen to ‘The Time Is Now’?

The album is out now on all digital music platforms. The CD and merchandise is available through my website www.reno.co.id

You are from the beautiful country of Indonesia, what is the live music scene like there at the moment?

Indonesia is huge and we have more than 17,000 islands so we definitely have a broad mix of all types of live music. From traditional, electronic, punk and pop culture.

Who are you listening to at the moment?

I’m not listening to anything in particular at the moment but I’m always looking for all types of new music and bands to inspire me.

What’s planned for 2020?

Touring to promote my album ‘The Time is now’ and a lot of skateboarding.

Favourite food and place to hangout?

In Bali you can always catch me hanging at ‘Gimme Shelter’, ‘Twice’ bar or the skatepark. My favourite food is Babi guling, google it 🙂

Joe Corti gets 2020 going with his debut All Night Long 7 hour set at Corsica Studios on January 17th. It was at that same 500 cap club, just one year ago, that China White, his event brand and label was born.  Why Corsica? Says Joe, ‘I love everything about the venue! the small rooms, the heavy sound system, the people who run it… I waited a while to get into Corsica and now a year on, it embodies the label and party brand perfectly, so where better to kick start this new year!’
His events have transcended the vibrant London scene to become cult favourites around the UK. He’s featured guests such as Brame & Hamo, Marquis Hawkes, Leo Pol, Cody Currie and more, becoming a tastemaker’s tastemaker.  The all-nighter will celebrate and mark the brand’s successful first year and herald a series of eagerly awaited releases and gigs for the much- and deservedly- hyped London-based Corti.  Be it on the dancefloor or through the speakers, Joe will deliver a unique but zeitgeist-grabbing mix of soulful disco, chunky house grooves and an uplifting infectious vibe.  Having burst on to London’s dance music scene with a bang in 2018, embarking on a tour of the states and releasing three pieces of hedonistic dance floor indulgence, then birthing China White, he’s been planning this celebration for some time. ‘The start of the new year felt like the perfect opportunity. It’s hard to fully express yourself in a couple of hours so playing all night long will give China White & Joe Corti fans a much better idea of who I am, where I come from and more importantly where I want to take things in 2020 and beyond.’ Joe Corti plays All Night Long @ Corsica Studios on January 17th  – Get tickets here: http://bit.ly/2QwI9Cs

Tanaya Harper takes us on dreamy visual journey in ‘Crash Pad’ video

by the partae January 8, 2020
written by the partae

“Totally smitten by these melodies from Tanaya and those last 30 secs are just what it needed for a final punch.”
4.5 stars – Declan Byrne triple j Home and Hosed

Perth multi-instrumentalist Tanaya Harper burst back onto Australia’s indie music scene in October 2019 with her insightful lyricism and silken melodies, bearing all on her current single ‘Crash Pad’, which is lifted from her forthcoming EP Slow Motion Break-Up, due for release in early 2020.

The end of 2019 saw Tayana play a sold-out hometown single launch, named as a highlight at Perth’s inaugural WAM Fest, as well as ‘Crash Pad’ coming in at number 5 in the top played songs on RTR radio, plus charting in the Top 10 Amrap Metro Charts for two consecutive weeks.

Tanaya is now pleased to introduce her new band, in her dreamy music video directed, edited, and produced by Perth filmmaker Matthew Pitcher.

‘Crash Pad’ is a song is about feeling unloved in a relationship, which over time leads to the person daydreaming about whether they would be happier alone. “The dreaminess that Matt has communicated in the video may relate directly back to discussions we had about what the song is about: when there’s a disconnect between two people when they aren’t seeing eye-to-eye when there’s this space between them that they just can’t seem to mend,” explains Tanaya on the making of the video.

“I wanted it to feel as though the band were performing in front of an audience, almost like a live appearance on a late night show in the 70’s or 80’s. Ultimately we didn’t want a narrative to distract from the music, so we found a simple and unique approach and rolled with it.” – Matthew Pitcher

In her short amount of time performing as a solo artist, Harper has opened for the likes of Jen Cloher, Body Type, Rolling Blackouts Coastal Fever, Stella Donnelly and Alex The Astronaut, and is looking forward to her first show on 2020 on the 29th January at The Bird in Northbridge Perth.

We're all just trying to get by - but at what cost? You can chase a dream but if you're in the working class - everything else suffers for it. In 'Still Want You Around Me' Neale explores the sentiments not often shared with those closest to us when we're strung out or snowed under - featuring the feel-good sing-a-long chorus of the summer! The video is a lighthearted clip, which highlights the importance of friendship. Neale says of the video "I jumped at the chance to work with Muppy again. One of the finest actors of our generation and someone who brings integrity and real-world grit to any role they take on. In this case, in a video filmed and edited by renowned director Jesse Hawkins, amongst a backdrop reminiscent of the mean streets of Sesame - we took on the intense subject matter of friends who are doing it tough but don’t wanna talk about the reasons why. Heck, maybe they wanna sing about it instead. Maybe this solves nothing and they might’ve just needed some space. Either way, if you’re doing it tough and I can help in anyway - let it be known that I “Still Want You Around Me”. Since his 2017 debut album release, Neale took out the 2018 Queensland Music Award for Song of The Year for single Dancin’ & Romancin’, signed a global publishing deal with GAGA International / Rough Trade, received extensive play across US college radio and was the recipient of the Grant McLennan Fellowship. As part of this fellowship Neale spent three months in New York City during 2018, attending a songwriting masterclass at NYU, collaborating with local writers and as it turns out, most importantly, resetting his life. Many years stuck in a cycle of ever-changing work, relentless side-hustling and various degrees of financial ruin had taken a toll and the opportunity to escape the pressure cooker for a brief period of time helped immensely to cure the burnout. The distance from home enabled a birds-eye view of what was and wasn’t working and enabled him to figure out what exactly he wanted from music and how the desire to create music could fit into a life worth living. Upon his return home to Brisbane, Australia, armed with new purpose and an openness to collaboration, he set to work on recording his sophomore record We Were Trying to Make It Out. Sonically, We Were Trying to Make It Out contains Neale’s penchant for melodic hooks, delivered coherently and directly without compromise or pastiche. This is the Jeremy Neale sound - the result of years of searching and refining - honest, fully realised and immediate. Guitar pop underpinned by classic songwriting is potentially the recipe for finding oneself outside the current musical climate but is also the hallmark of creating something truly timeless. On We Were Trying to Make It Out Neale explains the album title as the justification for the brutality you’ll put yourself through in an attempt to escape your demons.“There are a lot of sacrifices you have to make in order to create music if you’re not major label backed or independently wealthy and every mistake you make has direct consequences for your everyday quality of life." We Were Trying to Make It Out is a record written across two cities and two years. People Taking Pictures reveals luscious debut album, ‘Informative Noise’

by the partae January 8, 2020
written by the partae

Threading eclectic experimental rock and indie influences together to form a strong tapestry of music, People Taking Pictures strikes out strong and vibrant with the release of their debut album, Informative Noise. The solo project from Psychedelic Porn Crumpets guitarist Luke Parish, People Taking Pictures blends sounds beautifully on this introductory effort, released via the band’s own label – What Reality Records? – today.

STREAM/BUY I PURCHASE VINYL HERE

The psychedelic tinge remains prominent on Informative Noise, while lo-fi beats and alternative hip-hop structures form an intriguing foundation for People Taking Pictures’ central sound. Taking the listener on an immersive journey incorporating Tame Impala-esque production (‘Isolation Song’, ‘Two Heads’) with genre-twisting bends akin to the stylings of Massive Attack, Floating Points and Gorillaz (‘Solitude’, ‘Perspective’), Informative Noise demonstrates the versatility of Parish’s diverse musical range and talent as a musician and producer.

Recorded at his home studio in Perth, Informative Noise came to fruition amid the stacked touring schedule Psychedelic Porn Crumpets have found themselves embracing over the last year. A steadfastly growing collection of material soon began taking form as a fully fledged album, however the final touches took their time in being applied. Now in its final form, Informative Noise is out and accompanied by a limited vinyl release.

Mastered by Simon Struthers (Forensic Audio) and featuring guest appearances from SUPEREGO’s Nelson Mondlane (‘Propagate’, ‘Adventure Shit’) and strings player/Psychedelic Porn Crumpets collaborator Ben Caddy (‘A Park Without Railings’, ‘The Universal Panache’), Informative Noise has outside flavours, but is very much in line with Parish’s central vision for the People Taking Pictures project. “I think coming from a heavier side of music, I spent a lot of my time over the last couple of years listening to the opposite and finding solace in calmer music. I have always loved hip-hop, jazz and soul music and I wanted to take what I already knew and fuse it into something fresh.”
Luke Parish aka People Taking Pictures

People Taking Pictures reveals luscious debut album, 'Informative Noise'

Inspired by the work of artists including Flying Lotus, Stereolab, Connan Mockasin and more has fuelled the People Taking Pictures project, as Parish’s yearning for new music and experiences has been met with some thrilling experiences on the road throughout 2019. Now, as 2020 kicks off, his solo music will give fans and newcomers alike new insight into the artist he is continuing to become.

Epic Pool Parties Return to Miami and announce Six Days of Events Including Official WMC Opening Party with Kings of House, Repopulate Mars, Amnesia,  Do Not Sleep and More The Kimpton EPIC Hotel, Miami https://theepicpoolparty.com https://www.facebook.com/theepicpoolparty/ The Epic Pool Parties were one of the most talked about events of the Winter Music Conference in Miami. After this game-changing debut in 2019 they return to The Kimpton EPIC Hotel bigger and better in 2020 for six days of carefully programmed parties. There will be one unmissable party each day of the Conference from Tuesday March 17th to Sunday, March 22nd. The first ones to be announced are the WMC Official Opening Party with the legendary Kings of House, aka Louie Vega and David Morales, as well as Amnesia Presents x Do Not Sleep on Wednesday March 18 and a special Repopulate Mars day-night party on Friday March 20th. Located in the heart of Downtown Miami, Kimpton EPIC Hotel is an urban hotel that exudes the beauty and essence of the city through unparalleled experiences and views of Biscayne Bay. The ultimate Miami getaway, Kimpton EPIC Hotel just got even better with the completion of a full redesign. On the heels of its 10th anniversary, extensive renovations of its guestrooms and suites, lobby and pool area were just debuted, setting the stage for the most EPIC WMC parties yet. The events will take place on the newly imagined 16th floor at the hotel’s pool deck overlooking the city, complete with palm trees, bars, and cabanas. It’s a venue like no other, complete with a world-class sound system ensuring every beat is as warm and clear as the skies above. These carefully curated parties feature the worlds best DJs, brands and labels and come from the accomplished team at Electric Ibiza, who run iconic events at the White Isle's most famous venues, from Amnesia to Ibiza Rocks, Café Mambo to Pacha and Space Ibiza. Here they work once more in partnership with Miami legend Jonathan Cowan, Square One and WMC. Last year, the likes of Kerri Chandler, Victor Calderone, MK, Defected, Do Not Sleep, Repopulate Mars and Claptone’s ‘The Masquerade’ all featured. Say Jonathan Cowan on this year's offerings: "After a few years hiatus from the Miami Music Week program, last year was a huge success. I feel the conference has really come back into its own these past few years and is back as an important part of the dance music calendar. 2020 Epic Week will be the best DJs and brands showcasing their talents with an amazing backdrop of downtown Miami, and with Ultra just a few blocks away, we sure are expecting another huge week of music." On March 17th the entire Winter Music Conference kicks off with the one and only Official Opening Party at The Epic, which also happens to fall on St Patrick's Day, and the headliners couldn't be more perfect: the Kings of House, aka Louie Vega and David Morales, have been there since day one, pioneering various forms of the genre from vocal and uplifting to more dark and driving. They have decades of knowledge and know how between them, vast arsenal of tunes to call upon to make sure the exact right beat plays at the exact right moment, and are sure to serve up a real masterclass to get this year's conference and series under way.  Next up on Wednesday March 18th is one of Ibiza's most iconic clubs, Amnesia, who team up with underground house party Do Not Sleep. As such you can expect the best in cutting edge  house, slick tech sounds and electric atmospheres from some of the scene's most essential and innovative talents. The party is in for a huge 2020 with a tour of Australia and New Zealand also planned, so expect them to pull out all the stops when they hit Miami.  On March 20th, Lee Foss's red hot Repopulate Mars label will bring its key talents to the Epic for an afternoon and early evening session of unrivalled house music. Last years show was a complete sell out with the label being known for its cosmic parties with extravagant production, fancy costumed characters and immersive performers. As well as releases from the main man Lee Foss, the label was a DJ Mag award winner in 2018 after boasting killer tunes from the likes of Latmum, Mason Maynard, Detlef and Solardo. Says Lee Foss, "Repopulate Mars will rip open the fabric of space and time to return to Miami Music Week to host their intergalactic pool party on Mars at the Kimpton EPIC Hotel on Friday March 20th. Expect a day of outer space hedonism that will have punk funk kids shedding clothes, aliens shedding skin and cyborgs getting down to an electrifying line-up of the best names in house and techno." These Epic Pool Parties will be just that, and promise to be the most talked about dances during the whole of the WMC 2020. The next three shows and full line-ups will come in the next few weeks.  ______________________ Tuesday March 17th at The Kimpton EPIC Hotel WMC Official Opening Party Kings of House, aka Louie Vega and David Morales Wednesday March 18th at The Kimpton EPIC Hotel Amnesia Presents x Do Not Sleep Friday March 20th at The Kimpton EPIC Hotel Repopulate Mars 12pm-11pm

Where are you currently based and what is the music scene like there? I’ve lived in Melbourne since 1991.  It has a huge and diverse music ( and art for that matter ) scene that brings in more revenue than sport and yet, as everywhere else, the people making the art aren’t making any of the money. How did you first start playing music? I started playing music when I was 15 and I persuaded my parents to get me guitar lessons after I’d saved up and procured a $14 ‘Audition’ guitar (I saw Marc Ribot playing one of these a couple of years ago!) from Kmart. I’d been inspired by a lot of the music I was hearing on the radio – T rex, Deep Purple, The Stones, basically electrified Rock ‘n’ Roll. Your latest single is out now, what influences your sound and songwriting? A mixture of the prior mentioned ‘electrified rock n roll’, experimenting with  strange beats, unusual ways for generating sound ,weird harmonies, wordplay and stuff going on around me. You have an Australian tour kicking off at the end of January, are there any shows that you are particularly looking forward to playing, if so why? I’m looking forward to the Hobart, Brisbane and Beechworth shows because they’ll be just me and no band and those shows are always more rambling and story  telling, going places I can’t take a band. I’m looking forward to all of the other shows because I’ll have a different combo of local musos and musos that I’m taking with me in each place. How do you prepare for live shows? I put together a repertoire based on what musical configuration I’m working with and what I want to present for that show. I write all he songs I might want to choose from all down over 2 spread pages of and open book – about A3 size when opened out, so that I can look down on the floor and pick any song that takes my mood. I call this ‘The Book Of Swamp’. This is what I do instead of a set list. All of the musos I work with know this and know not to expect a formalised setlist. I then think about what I’m gonna wear. If I’m on my own it stops there but if I have a combo it depends on the people. Some people just can’t be tamed and others are good sports and want to help present a show of some sort. The challenge is to make it look like we didn’t all just meet at a bust stop…ha ha maybe that could be a look in itself. I always go on ‘cold’, don’t meditate or do vocal exercises. Actually that’s a white lie, I have been having a shot or 2 of tequila in recent times to get into ‘the vibe’ but am getting over(or bored with) the taste of tequila.  Your book 'Nine Parts Water, One Part Sand: Kim Salmon and the Formula for Grunge' is out now, how did this book come about and what inspired Douglas to write it? Doug and I hit it off straight away and he’d ask me about some aspect of my past before, after or during a lesson and that would just set me off into some ‘rock story’. I think after a while that got him interested to know if any of these stories had been compiled anywhere and of course they hadn’t. He plucked up the courage and asked me one night if he could write my biography and given the absence of such a thing, and given that I’d attempted it but never had the time, I said yes! You worked along side your guitar student/biographer 'Douglas Galbrath' how did the idea/concept come about to work together? You mean in my band? Obviously Doug is a fairly enterprising fellow. I knew he was already a drummer. He’d taken it on himself to try and be the booker at the local pub and booked some of me and my friends bands in there as well as his own. I saw he was a good drummer and even worked with him playing at his daughter’s schools bazaar, which he also booked bands for.  How did the story telling, story writing between the both of you take place and over what period? He’d invite me to brunch start recording and do what he did at the lessons. He got me talking. Basically he prompted me with a question and off I’d go. What did you find most rewarding and challenging through out the process? For me the most rewarding thing has been to see the threads that I’ve given Doug, get woven into a story. It seems something quite apart from me even though I recognise it all. The most challenging part was to know where the line between being a bit circumspect and censoring oneself was. Obviously I don’t want to fall out with people but there’s also a need for honesty. This is however just a story and not an exposé so there’s a balance to be struck. Any advice for anyone wanting to writing a book? Don’t know if I’m the person to give that advice yet. Maybe wait till I’ve written MY book. Where can we buy/read 'Nine Parts Water, One Part Sand: Kim Salmon and the Formula for Grunge' ? Ha Ha! In all discerning bookstores….but more importantly….and also in the highly likely event that all discerning bookstores don’t have my book in stock (because they’ve sold out ha ha),  at my upcoming shows where I’ll be selling the book and my 2 new singles and more… Who are you listening to at the moment? Bonzo Dog Doodah Band It was Neil Innes’s tragic death that dragged me into yet another You Tube vortex. What do you like to do away from music and writing? Painting and other things Please tell us about any new music that's on the way: I’m going into the studio with Tony Thewlis in 3 days to put the finishing touches on a brand new Scientists album. What's planned for 2020? Touring said Scientists album in the USA  Favourite food and place to hangout?

I write all he songs I might want to choose from all down over 2 spread pages of and open book – about A3 size when opened out, so that I can look down on the floor and pick any song that takes my mood. at my upcoming shows where I’ll be selling the book and my 2 new singles and more…

Who are you listening to at the moment?

Bonzo Dog Doodah Band

It was Neil Innes’s tragic death that dragged me into yet another You Tube vortex.

What do you like to do away from music and writing?

Painting and other things

I’m going into the studio with Tony Thewlis in 3 days to put the finishing touches on a brand new Scientists album.

What’s planned for 2020?
