The most anticipated accessible gig on the local calendar, Groove Tunes just got a whole lot tastier with the arrival of new headliner, Keli Holiday of Peking Duk. Announced last month and taking place this Saturday 19 March at coveted Richmond venue The Corner, Groove Tunes will present a fun and accessible night of entertainment, highlighting the creativity and inclusivity of the disability community, while also creating awareness to excel standards of accessibility in the music industry and beyond. Accessibility consultancy, Tibi Access—the incredible team of disability advocates behind the Groove Tunes project—are beyond excited to welcome Keli Holiday and his shimmering, ethereal and uplifting dance music to the fold in what is sure to be a night to remember.
From the mind of a man living off of nothing but New Order records, beer, sleepless nights and the sheer excitement and love of exploring an unknown city named New York, Keli Holiday is the solo project of Adam Hyde (one half of multi ARIA award winning, 10x platinum selling Australian eclectic electronic duo Peking Duk). In the wake of Peking Duk’s non-stop, two month North American tour, Hyde was told he had time for a holiday when he got home but instead of flying to a beach somewhere he decided to use an old guitar he had sitting in his bedroom to create something special. He sheepishly showed his best friend Thomas Stell aka Golden Features the 12 tracks he’d penned in four weeks, before Tom shared the project with Adam’s longtime idol that he’d never met—KIM from the iconic duo The Presets. KIM and Adam soon tightened up the dusty recordings and made it shine. Two years later and the marriage of longing for that holiday he’ll never get back mixed with the strumming of that dusty old guitar birthed the love child that is Keli Holiday.
Keli Holiday joins previously announced acts Matilda Pearl, Saint Ergo, Edward Roussac and Irene Zhong, rounding out an absolutely killer bill of local acts with more than half the lineup made up of artists living with disability. Tibi Access’ mission to bring the joy of live music to the disability community, while also increasing awareness of the need for events and venues to be more accessible is the driving force behind this weekend’s Groove Tunes event. Through a survey Tibi conducted in 2018, people living with a disability expressed their love of attending live music events, however the fear and lack of access stopped them from going. As an accessible gig, Groove Tunes will provide support services such as Auslan interpreters, printed braille tickets, in-venue access ramps and lowered bar access, accessible signage, a sensory zone and sensory packs, on-stage lyric videos, as well develop an accessible website and keep ticket prices low for the music industry and disability community alike—allowing access to people of all abilities to not only attend, but have a fun, safe and memorable experience.
Do not miss your chance to catch Keli Holiday in his first live show of the year at one of Melbourne’s most cherished accessible venues alongside some favourite artists you haven’t yet discovered at Groove Tunes this Saturday night. Final release tickets moving quick sticks, with free entry for companion card holders. Can’t make it on Saturday? Support Groove Tunes and your fellow gig-goers by purchasing a Pay It Forward ticket for someone in the disability community!

Following ‘Oldboy‘ that scored the group playlisting across triple j, Unearthed, FBi Radio, SYN, RTR FM and praise from NME, Red Bull Music, Colors, RAGE, Sniffers, MTV, Acclaim and more, ‘Rocksta‘ is the mixtape’s second, relentless preview. Excessive and compulsive in motive, the single is another soaring example of 1300‘s ability to push genres to their extremes. ‘Rocksta‘ is a skittish, arpeggiating number that throws furious techno alongside broken, chopped, beats as each rapper dribbles across single note verses that descend with shrieking fury. Over 3 minutes, 1300 run laps in production styles, footnoting kicks, slips and diced up cuts from Death Grips to Girl Talk, Charli XCX to Yaeji, Nicolas Jaar to Ye – indicative of their eclectic prowess behind any DAW as they are behind a set of DJ decks.
Speaking to the release, the group reveal ‘Rocksta‘ is “the song that will turn YOU to a Rocksta. Reject mediocrity and embrace the chaos! Guaranteed to get your head bopping and face scrunching. We definitely wanted the hook to be in Korean, and we liked the words “chung bhaji” (ripped jeans) so that’s where Rock Star came from – Rockstas with rips on their jeans.” The single arrives as Foreign Language‘s visual climax, replete with rebellion and spontaneity. An unassuming CD discovery transform’s the music video’s protagonist into a lawless vigilante, picking fights, getting a tattoo, each member of 1300 playing pivotal characters in this fateful, raucous night out. With ‘Rocksta‘, the rabbit hole of 1300 fever continues.
‘Rocksta‘ is out now, buy/stream it here.

BUY/STREAM: MAZY – INTERSTELLA
Following on from their last single ‘Flowers‘ which saw Sydney band Mazy continue to define their billowy neo-psychedelic pop sound, the band returns with an equally psychedelic, dance heavy tune in ‘Interstella’.
Sonically this new offering has all the colours of other Aussie psych masters in Tame Impala, Pond yet remains unique in it’s effortless sway and continuous pulse pushing it into an almost vaporwave soundscape akin to that of MGMT and Washed Out. The chorus triumphantly brings you in to feel the enlightening resolution of ‘floating way’ into space and through both the lyrics and harmony, the listener is planted deep within the band’s world of space and technicolour.
Mazy are continuing the Australian psychedelic revival all the while bringing the party and dance influence too. The band says of the track, “This one has become the band’s favourite track. We were given a lecture by Kim Moyes (The Presets) on how bad our cheap vocoder sound was on this, before he played us various daft punk songs to show us what a good one sounds like. We kept it anyway. It’s also Kim’s favourite now but he still hates the vocoder. Interstella explores themes of time, isolation and human connection, all through a celestial lens. It also bangs in zero gravity.”
Consisting of Ben Tierney (Vocals/Guitar), Tim Grimes (Keys/Percussion/Vocals) and Sam Clayton (Bass/Vocals), the band fuses rock n roll, acid house, pop, and dance into a kaleidoscopic explosion of colour and noise. Mazy blends hypnotic vocal melodies with anthemic guitars and soaring synth hooks which echo the likes of Jagwar Ma, POND, The Beach Boys and The Stone Roses.
With their live show being the centre of their musicianship, the band have impressed over the summer with shows such as Yours and Owls Sundays at North Wollongong Hotel supporting Aodhan, as well as Freekin Weekends at Factory Theatre in Sydney. Mazy are looking forward to sharing a plethora of new music with their fans and you can catch them playing The Metro Theatre in Sydney for Great Southern Nights in association with Sweat It Out. There they will be supporting Crooked Colours, and performing alongside a stellar line-up including PRICIE, Annie Bass, and Leer – tickets HERE
Mazy’s new single ‘Interstella’ is out now on Sweat It Out.
Hi There! I’m fine! Not an easy question, the good thing is music and culture, the bad is the ignorance, the hypocrisy and the lack of attention we have these days.
How was the pandemic for you and what affect did it have on your music taste and style? It has been two very hard years where there has been a real reset. Today is a new beginning
How do you evolved your own sound while staying true to your roots and own signature and not jumping on new hype bandwagons?
I think that roots are important, and that you cannot lie to the soul. It is important not to lie to oneself, and to externalize what we really are, we live in a world made only of appearance and fiction, with music you cannot lie.
Do you make music that suits certain labels or do you create first and worry about that later?
I like to create freely, and then look for the right label for that creation
What are some of the key bits of music making gear in your current set up?
In my home studio I can’t miss my mini moog and also my Maschine with which I enjoy creating new grooves every time
Where is your best environment as a dj? a small dark club or a huge outdoor festival stage? late at night for the weirdos or early so you can play slow and eclectic etc?
When I was a resident here at cocobreach I liked to play in the afternoon on the beach, and play to late at night. I was doing dj sets for 6 hours, but I also really like small night clubs! People attach to each other who transmit the vital energy thanks to a primordial thing, the dance.
How do you work, do you have an idea in your head you work towards or do you just experiment and jam and see what happens?
It depends, it can be one or the other, there are days where I start from scratch, days where I take samples and I start to work from that sample
Tell us about your gimme good love EP – what inspired or influenced it, where and when and who was it written for?
It’s a song dedicated to love, which I think is important in life. Nathalie perfectly understood the concept I was talking about and wrote some wonderful words.
Did you work with Nathalie remotely or in the studio? How did you meet?
Yes we work remotely, the Irish singer Rion S introduced us. He is an important friend for me!
What else have you got coming up/are you working on?
I’m preparing some nice things! Coming up is a collaboration with Mell Hell, an Australian DJ, which will be released soon, it will be a good record! This phase of recovery will also be a rebirth I hope!

The Getaway project signifies a new chapter for Orion Sun artistically and personally. Featuring production by Rostam Batmanglij (Vampire Weekend, HAIM), Nascent (SZA, Brent Faiyaz), and Rodaidh McDonald, the collection of songs chronicle her own journey of self-discovery and healing. Arriving to large critical acclaim, Getaway sees Orion Sun stepping into her rightful position as one of today’s most essential artists.
On the EP, she says “The ‘Getaway’ EP was written during my time in quarantine and served as a form of escapism – not just from where I was physically in the world, but from some of my emotions I was feeling as well. In June of 2020 I released a song called ‘Mama’s Baby,’ which talked about my experience with police brutality in Philadelphia. Experiencing that and seeing my community plagued with covid simultaneously led me to feel that the world was a dangerous place to be. This EP was born from that. The yearning to get out and get away. The want to learn more, to grow more, to love more, and to evolve.”
Additionally, Orion Sun announced her debut headlining North American tour, which is set for Spring 2022. The shows kick off in New York on May 1st and wrap in Los Angeles on May 19th. Tickets are on sale now HERE.
25-year-old Orion Sun is firmly carving out her own lane. Unapologetically complex, her music defies the confines of genres. It features her signature style of alternative R&B that speaks deeply to her generation. Her work pulls inspiration from the greats that shaped her artistry such as Billie Holiday, Stevie Wonder, Bill Withers, John P. Kee Fred Hammond, Lauryn Hill, and others. Her previous album, Hold Space For Me, amassed over 40 million global streams and cemented Orion Sun as an artist to watch with her transformative, intimate art. It solidified her as a critical press darling by garnering large acclaim from outlets such as NPR, BBC Radio, Pitchfork, i-D, Fader, Billboard, NYLON, Hypebeast, Stereogum, and many more. Orion Sun is now a two-time 2021 Libera Awards Nominee for Breakthrough Artist/Release and Best R&B Record.

Still buzzing from a run of sold out headline shows, King Stingray are determined to keep the vibes high with a brand new single, Camp Dog.
The band’s fourth single is an endearing tribute to the cheeky canines that patrol the streets of Yirrkala, the town in North East Arnhem Land that King Stingray grew up in.
“The community camp dogs act like the boss of the streets” explains guitarist Roy Kellaway. “Kids often have to walk the long way home to avoid them. But it’s not about fear. It’s about our adoration of the character and personality of the community dogs and their funny traits. Flea-ridden, cane toad-lickin’, fish carcass-eating camp dogs. We love them, and this is a story of our life with them.”
Camp Dog follows on from bona fide hits Milkumana and Get Me Out which both made their way into triple j’s Hottest 100 at number 56 and 46 respectively.
Maintaining their mammoth momentum, King Stingray have been hand-picked to support Midnight Oil in Sydney and Cairns, and invited to join several dates on the massive Ball Park Music tour throughout June and July. Expect incredible performances at Yours & Owls, Strawberry Fields, Parrtjima and Splendour In The Grass, too.
With the band now pulling into international focus via their nomination for NME’s Best New Band In The World, 2022 truly is shaping up to be the Year of King Stingray!

Title: Love We Lost feat. Simon Ward
Label: Armada Music
Some collabs are so monumental fans will be raving long before its release, and Armin van Buuren and R3HAB‘s first joint effort serves as the perfect example. A delightfully catchy crossover track between two of the Netherlands‘ foremost electronic music giants, ‘Love We Lost‘ (feat. Simon Ward) is designed to bring out the feeling of summer whilst giving listeners the strength to fight for the things they believe in. With over 50 million monthly listeners on Spotify between them, Armin van Buuren and R3HAB know how to rouse the global crowd and make it happen yet again with their debut collab. Underlining the poppy chords, empowering lyrics and strong vocal presence of Simon Ward with an audacious, mainstage-tailored production, the Dutchmen supply fans with the only reason they’ll ever need to throw their arms to the sky and roar to their hearts’ content.
“What I love so much about ‘Love We Lost‘ is the special message it holds. Narrated to perfection by Simon Ward, the lyrics tells us that some things are worth fighting for even if the odds are stacked against us. I’m super stoked to have produced this track in tandem with Fadil/R3HAB, as I think very highly of him. I hope everyone who listens to the record will feel as inspired as we did when we created this song.” – Armin van Buuren
“I’m thrilled to share my long-anticipated collab with Armin van Buuren, a fellow Dutch industry leader I admire for his sonic footprint in the past decade.’Love We Lost‘ is exactly what I pictured when discussing this collaboration with Armin early on. I’m happy that we managed to blend both of our signature styles while incorporating Simon Ward‘s lion-hearted vocals. To me, it’s a record with resonating lyrics that share our message of only moving mountains for things in life that truly matter.” – R3HAB
Armin van Buuren has long been a global ambassador for electronic music. The five-time #1 DJ in the world and current #3 has seven full-length artist albums to his name and continues to cultivate a massive worldwide following through his weekly A State Of Trance radio show, event series and album series, reaching 40 million listeners from 80 different countries on a weekly basis. In non-COVID times, Armin van Buuren headlined more than 150 shows per year at leading festivals and venues around the world, including Electric Daisy Carnival (Las Vegas, New York), Ultra Music Festival (Miami) and Tomorrowland (Belgium) plus residencies on Ibiza and in Las Vegas.
Multi-Platinum DJ and producer Fadil El Ghoul, better known as R3HAB, has been trailblazing his way through dance music for the past fifteen years. With his breakthrough remixes for Rihanna, Drake, Taylor Swift and Calvin Harris, anthems such as the Platinum-certified ‘All Around The World (La La La)’ and ‘Lullaby‘, and collaborations with the likes of Ava Max, ZAYN, Luis Fonsi, Sean Paul and more, R3HAB has proven to be one of the most forward-thinking artists in the game. While his own work has collected over 7 billion streams to date and 1.1 billion in 2021 alone, R3HAB‘s CYB3RPVNK label has clocked up over 4 billion streams since its inception in 2016. R3HAB continues to evolve and diversify his sound by working with artists around the globe, pushing the boundaries of dance music as he collaborates across genres and languages. He is Spotify’s Most Discovered Artist and one of the streaming platform’s Top 200 most streamed acts, ranked #12 in DJ Mag‘s prestigious Top 100 DJs chart and has earned over 55 Gold and Platinum certificates. Additionally, he has embarked on multiple sold-out worldwide tours, was the first dance music artist to sell out 15 consecutive shows in China and performed at the world’s top festivals: EDC, Ultra Music Festival, Tomorrowland, Balaton Sound, Coachella, Summer Sonic Festival, DWP Jakarta and more.
