Bootshaus Once Again Named Best Club in Germany – Ranked 7th Worldwide

by the partae April 17, 2025
written by the partae

Few clubs are able to make a name for themselves on the international stage, but Boothaus is one of them. Ranking in DJ Mag’s Top 10 Worldwide for the second year in a row, this time in 7th place, the Cologne club blends a storied legacy with unrivaled production, prestigious bookings and coveted high-energy crowds.

Born out of an industrial warehouse with a hundred-year history in Germany, Boothaus turned a small underground techno venue into a pioneering club that has evolved year on year since 2004. Having upgraded the Funktion One systems to a custom-built L-Acoustics sound system, the pulse of the beat is felt in every corner of the club, from the intense energy of the main room to the raw intimacy of the Dreheri room.

Production is where Boothaus excels, with five distinct rooms of varying sizes, brought to life by custom lighting design that reflects each space’s unique atmosphere, from indulgent to intimate. Boothaus takes it a step further, creating custom-designed lighting for special events, reinforcing the venue’s reputation as a one-of-a-kind experience.

Boothaus continues to foster a community of music-first clubbers, bringing in world-class DJs with global appeal, including Amelie Lens, DJ Diesel (Shaquille O’Neal), Hardwell, Headhunterz, I Hate Models, James Hype, KSHMR, Oliver Heldens, David Guetta, Steve Aoki, Tiësto, and Vini Vici. The venue’s finger-to-the-pulse attitude towards booking has cemented its status as a key player on the global stage.

As Boothaus continues to push boundaries, it remains a beacon for club culture not just in Germany, but worldwide. With an unwavering commitment to innovation, a fiercely loyal community, and an ever-growing roster of international talent, Boothaus proves that the spirit of the underground can thrive on the global stage — and its reign shows no signs of slowing down.

Toto + Christopher Cross @ John Cain Arena, Melbourne, 16th April 2025

by the partae April 17, 2025
written by the partae

Photography & Words: Darren Chan

You can’t help but feel a big dose of nostalgia when experiencing legendary rock bands live—especially when they deliver their iconic hits with the same passion that made them famous decades ago.

Christopher Cross is a good friend of Toto, and having him as the support act with his classic soft rock style was a fitting start to the evening. Cross and his band casually entered the stage to warm applause. Unfortunately, at that point in time, a good portion of the audience was still queuing to get into the venue.

He took a humble bow before launching into “All Right.” His laid-back nature allowed the quality and familiarity of his music to speak for itself.
Cross and the band delivered yacht rock classics like “Sailing” and “Arthur’s Theme” with effortless sophistication. The backing singers provided smooth vocal support, even singing in Swahili on “Light the World.”

Although a very accomplished musician himself, Cross gave plenty of opportunities for other band members to showcase their talents—particularly Andy Suzuki on various wind instruments and Jerry Leonide on piano. He did take some impressive guitar solo moments in “I Really Don’t Know Anymore” and the final song, “Ride Like the Wind,” ending the performance on a high note.

With over 14 studio albums, numerous Grammys, and more than 50 million albums sold worldwide, Toto’s live performance proves they still have that magic that’s kept fans coming back since the late ’70s. While the touring band lineup has changed over the years, the current roster includes core members Steve Lukather (guitar/vocals) and Joseph Williams (vocals), alongside world-class musicians: Greg Phillinganes (keyboards/vocals), Shannon Forrest (drums), John Pierce (bass), Warren Ham (horns/percussion/vocals), and Dennis Atlas (keyboards/vocals).

Toto took to the stage with a confident but relaxed energy. From the opening notes of “Child’s Anthem,” the crowd cheered with enthusiasm. Toto infused each song with energy, allowing moments of improvisation while honoring the arrangements fans know by heart. They struck a masterful balance between nostalgia and musicianship.

The setlist featured a well-rounded mix of their chart-topping hits—like the groove-laden “Rosanna,” the piano-driven soft rock of “Georgy Porgy,” the guitar-heavy classic “Hold the Line,” and the prog ballad “I Will Remember”—as well as deeper cuts for the true fans, including the funky “99” and the ’80s rocker “Angel Don’t Cry.”

The band’s performance was a masterclass in meticulous arrangements and instrumental interplay. Both Williams and Lukather delivered their trademark vocals with distinctive flair. Lukather—one of rock’s most respected guitarists—was in spectacular form. His solos during “Rosanna,” “White Sister,” and “Hold the Line” showcased his chops as one of the greatest session musicians of all time.

The rhythm section of Forrest and Pierce provided a rock-solid backbone, anchoring the performance with precision. Atlas, the youngest member of the band and a prog rock prodigy, shone with a keyboard solo and an impressive vocal range, taking the lead on “Angel Don’t Cry.” Phillinganes, who’s played with a who’s who of music legends, also had his moment in the spotlight with a brilliantly musical keyboard solo.

There was clear camaraderie and chemistry among the band members—some of whom have been friends since they were young. They appeared relaxed and content on stage, sharing casual banter and genuinely appreciating each other’s performances. Williams’ fun interactions with the audience created memorable moments of connection throughout the arena.

The visual production subtly complemented the music without overshadowing it—tasteful lighting shifts enhanced the mood of each song without relying on unnecessary flash. This, combined with exceptionally balanced front-of-house audio, kept the focus squarely on the top-tier musicianship happening on stage.

The show closed with the band’s most well-known anthem, “Africa.” The iconic opening keyboard pattern drew an immediate crowd reaction and kicked off a massive sing-along. Toto delivered classic rock magic to Melbourne, proving that great music—executed with exceptional skill and production—never goes out of style.

by the partae April 2, 2025
written by the partae

AN UNMISSABLE HIGH-TECH INTERACTIVE EXPERIENCE COMES TO AUSTRALIA AS PART OF WORLD TOUR, FEATURING FRANK THE RABBIT HIMSELF, JAMES DUVAL

For one unforgettable night in June, the Melbourne Pavilion will transform into the world of DONNIE DARKO – a fully costumed interactive Halloween rave experience, inspired by the beloved 2001 cult classic film.

“But this isn’t just a screening…It’s a full-blown, 80s-style interactive house party where fans can live and breathe inside a Donnie Darko spectacle” Director, Cinaesthesia Productions.

This unique venture into the thematic realm of Donnie Darko has seen a successful debut internationally, with a sold-out London event kicking off a global tour for 2025 – with over thirteen cities set to experience this one-of-a-kind leap into the Tangent Universe.

Donnie Darko’s Halloween House Party features floor-to-ceiling high-tech audiovisuals, as well as a screening of the film itself – though this is not just your regular film celebration and screening. The entire venue is transformed into a multi-sensory playground — with each space designed to draw guests deeper into the surreal world of Donnie Darko. From ambient soundscapes and immersive set design to atmospheric lighting and unexpected narrative touches, every detail works together to blur the line between reality and fiction in this pop culture collision of music, story, and interactivity.

Lose yourself in a multi-room ‘80s style house party on Friday 6 June (King’s Birthday Public Holiday Weekend), with live DJs, immersive visuals, recreated film sets and characters pulled straight from the movie. Attend in Halloween costume, grab yourself a drink at Donnie’s themed bars, all the while enjoying a rare live appearance by Frank The Rabbit himself, actor James Duval.

“After seeing Cinaesthesia Productions’ setup of the Halloween party for Donnie Darko at the sold-out London UK event, I was just blown away! Beyond all expectations!! What’re you doing on June 6, Melbourne? Maybe I’ll see you at the next one…wearing your stupid man suit! JAMES DUVAL

Since its release in 2001, the Richard Kelly-directed Donnie Darko has become one of the most iconic cult films of all time, with a global fan base spanning generations. The film’s themes of time travel, fate, and 80s nostalgia have cemented its place in pop culture, and our immersive adaptation lets fans step inside that world like never before.

With its blend of nostalgia, cinematic spectacle, and interactive storytelling, this Australian debut of the Donnie Darko inspired experience is set to be a must-attend event for film lovers, ravers, and pop culture enthusiasts. Given its history of selling out in record time, fans are encouraged to secure tickets in advance. As the re-ignition of this critically acclaimed film and event take hold, it’s rapidly gaining global traction as one of the must-attend experiences this year.

The event includes VIP packages, featuring a personal meet & greet experience with actor James Duval in an exclusive backstage VIP room. Guests will also enjoy access to a Halloween-themed private bar, receive limited edition signed merchandise, and get a rare opportunity to see one of the original Frank the Rabbit costumes from the film up close.

Interview: Graeme Park on Clubbing, Classics, and the Spirit of Dance Music

by the partae April 2, 2025
written by the partae

Graeme, you’ve been a pioneer in the dance music scene for decades. How do you think the landscape of clubbing has changed since you first started DJing?

The biggest change is definitely social media and smartphones—they’ve really impacted the vibe and atmosphere in clubs. DJs have become more egotistical because they’re often the main focus now, rather than the music itself. I’ve always believed the music is more important than the DJ. I miss those dark, dingy DJ booths hidden away in the corner where you could just get on with it, without all the unnecessary attention DJs seem to crave today.

That said, sound systems are so much better now, and the technology has transformed how we DJ—which is fantastic. No more lugging around heavy boxes of vinyl! Clubs and festivals are also more inclusive and safer now, which is a great thing. But at the end of the day, as long as you’ve got a great DJ, an open-minded crowd, a banging sound system, and a cool venue, things haven’t changed all that much since I started in 1984.

2. Your sets are known for blending house, acid house, and rave. How do you approach curating a set that maintains that signature Graeme Park vibe while staying fresh and exciting?

I do what I’ve always done—play to the crowd in front of me. I play music I like to like-minded people, and I just make it up as I go along. I never fully plan what I’ll play, because until you get to the venue, you don’t know the vibe, the age range of the crowd, or what the other DJs have played. I always have a rough idea, but adaptability is key—and that’s what I enjoy most.

I also try to avoid playing the same obvious classics that a lot of my peers rely on. I dig out older tracks that don’t get aired as much—many of which are even better—and those always put smiles on people’s faces. After 40 years, I need to keep things fresh, exciting, and take risks. Younger crowds actually give me more freedom to experiment with newer tracks and obscure gems, as they’re not weighed down by the nostalgia that older clubbers often bring. My favorite gigs these days are the ones with mixed-age crowds, where I can play a proper blend of old and new.

3. Ministry of Sound’s Testament tour is all about celebrating the golden era of clubbing. What was your experience like during that time, and what does the term ‘proper clubbing’ mean to you?

Honestly, I can’t remember much of it! But when I talk to others who were there, the memories flood back. The 80s and 90s were wild—anything went. Most of the legendary stories you hear are probably true. Back then, people really didn’t care what others thought of them, which isn’t always the case now.

“Proper clubbing” means different things to different generations. For me, it’s simple: a great DJ, an open-minded crowd, a banging sound system, and a cool venue. That’s all you need.

4. You’ve had the opportunity to play at some of the most iconic venues in the world. Do you have a favorite venue, and what makes it special for you as a DJ?

Without a doubt, The Haçienda in Manchester. It was a club run by hedonists, for hedonists—which meant it was often chaotic, but that’s exactly why it worked. It all felt so organic. Nobody really knew what they were doing, but we were riding the crest of a wave together. It was incredible to be part of something that influential. Its legacy lives on, and I’m proud to be part of that story.

5. The 90s and 00s were formative years for the dance music community. Can you share a memorable moment from your career during that period that still stands out to you?

There are so many! Playing in Australia twice a year throughout the 90s was always a highlight. Punte del Este in Uruguay and Buenos Aires were unforgettable too. And DJing in New York during that era—just incredible vibes.

6. With Testament bringing together legends from the era, how does it feel to share the stage with such an incredible lineup, including Paul Oakenfold and Roger Sanchez?

We’ve all known each other for years and genuinely get on well. It’s going to be great to actually spend some quality time together instead of the quick catch-ups we usually have in clubs.

7. In your view, what makes a dance track timeless? Are there any tracks from your early career that you still play regularly?

Simplicity. The simpler the better. That’s why early Chicago house and Detroit techno are still so powerful. And yes, there are a few tracks from my early days that I still sneak into sets now and then—they still work a treat.

8. You’ve seen dance music evolve from underground to mainstream. How do you think the scene has maintained its authenticity amidst all this change?

It really depends on how you define “authenticity.” For some, it’s rooted in a certain era or sound. For others, it’s about staying true to the underground spirit. I think it’s all subjective and shaped by your own history and experience of clubbing. Age plays a big role in how you see it.

9. As a DJ and producer, you’ve worked with so many talented artists. How do collaborations influence your creative process, and is there anyone you’d still love to work with?

I wish more of today’s so-called DJ/producers would collaborate. You learn so much from sharing ideas. I much prefer working with others—it often takes you somewhere unexpected. That said, egos can get in the way.

As for who I’d like to work with—my son Ben makes some incredible music, and I’d love to collaborate with him. His ideas are wild, and it’d be great to combine our sounds.

10. Looking ahead, what are your goals or aspirations for the future of your music and career? What’s next for Graeme Park after Testament?

Funny thing is, I never planned to be a DJ. Yet here I am, still going. I’d love to keep doing this for as long as I enjoy it and as long as people still want to hear me. That definitely includes returning to Australia in the future.

After Testament, I’ve got a packed Easter weekend in the UK with several gigs lined up, followed by a busy summer. And then it’s the return of Haçienda Classical for its ninth year, which I’m very excited about. I still can’t believe I get to do what I love after all these years.

AIGEL Releases New Tatar Album “Killer Qız”

by the partae April 1, 2025
written by the partae

The electronic duo AIGEL reveals the release of their sixth studio album, Killer Qız,,marking a key milestone in their creative journey. The album’s focus track will be Barsı Da Bezdä.

This is the second album by the group recorded entirely in Tatar, exploring themes of loss and rediscovery, death and rebirth, the complexity of human nature, and trust in faith.

At the heart of Killer Qız is a bold narrative: a DJ killer dances until the death of a high-ranking official, then escapes the country with her boyfriend. Figures from Russian society—ranging from “couch troops” to “Rospotrebnadzor employees”—watch their departure, while the “major, the doorman, and the war correspondent” desperately try to cling to the wing of their departing plane. But, as the lyrics declare, “no matter what they do, no one will take them along.” With the speed increasing, the pilot at the controls “plays hardcore.”

Despite the audacious and vibrant energy of some tracks, the album remains deeply personal and introspective. One particularly haunting moment comes in a track where vocalist Aigel Gaisina’s voice is absent; instead, a child’s voice slowly transitions from speaking Tatar to German in real time, capturing the poignant experience of linguistic assimilation. The album concludes with Aigel herself reciting in German, reflecting on the meaning of home—whether it is where one is born or where one is laid to rest.

A surprise addition to the album is a dance track in English, originally written for a short film by renowned clown Vyacheslav Polunin. This nearly wordless song carries the refrain that “life is a comedy,” offering a moment of lightness amidst the album’s weighty themes.

“Since February 2022, we faced a long creative pause—nothing was written, and all words seemed to lose their meaning,” says Aigel. “For three years, we slowly finished pre-war demos and pieced ourselves back together. Emigration intensified the metaphor of searching for new words. Now, Ilya and I live in different countries—Berlin, with its harsh, stylish, and free atmosphere, and rural Montenegro, with its sunny and gentle calm. This contrast has seeped into our music. After a long stagnation, the first language that emerged for me was Tatar—it was like a system reset, returning to my default language.”

One of the last-minute additions to the album, Assimilation, is a near-documentary-style track in which children gradually shift from resisting emigration to fully integrating into a new culture, replacing their native Tatar words with German. The track opens with sounds from the Berlin subway, and only after completion did Aigel realize that the announcer’s voice declares, “the train is heading towards Ruhleben”—a district in Berlin that translates to “peaceful life.” This unintended coincidence perfectly encapsulates the song’s theme.

Ilya Baramiya shares his perspective on the album’s production: “I liked how Baauer described his album Planet’s Mad—drawing from ’90s dance music, inspired by Fatboy Slim, Daft Punk, and The Chemical Brothers. These artists didn’t stick to strict genres but focused on creating a unique atmosphere. We’ve taken a similar approach here, incorporating a broader range of influences—from K-pop to hard bass. There’s almost no hip-hop in this album.”

AIGEL, the duo of Tatar poetess and vocalist Aigel Gaisina and St. Petersburg electronic musician Ilya Baramiya, is known for their sharp lyrics and innovative sound in Russian, Tatar, and English. Their hit song Tatarin has amassed over 140 million views on YouTube, while their track You Born won a Silver Lion at the Cannes Lions festival. In 2023, their Tatar-language song Pıyala made history by topping the charts in over 10 countries and reaching the Billboard TikTok chart.

Since 2022, AIGEL has openly spoken against Russia’s invasion of Ukraine. Their performances in Russia were banned, leading them to leave the country—Aigel now resides in Berlin, while Ilya lives in Montenegro.

KEHLANI at ICC Sydney Theatre -19 March, 2025

Kehlani, one of the world’s most well renowned R&B acts, returns to Sydney with an electric ensemble to close out her biggest tour run yet. Gracing the stage of the ICC in Sydney, Kehlani brings the hype with her most recent album “Crash” released back in June 2024. Setting an electrifying tone, the pop singer / dancer was backed by a dynamic ensemble of dancers and backing musicians, bringing her songs to life while also creating one of the most

The ICC is by no means a small venue, yet Kehlani powered through the set with a hint of intimacy as she shifted the dynamics between her songs. Soaring from her up-tempo Crash hits such as “What I Want” and “8”, before serenading the crowd with hit single “Honey” and even playing covers of other well known songs such as “Marry You” by Bruno Mars, though her track “Nights Like This” takes the cake for the highlight of the night, with Kehlani performing the club anthem to a sea of lights and adoring fans singing as if the singer had come to watch a concert of her own song sang back to her.

Amidst all this, Kehlani’s stage presence is wonderfully backed by her band that mixes hard rock guitar riffs with gospel drums, creating a sound that strays far from her usual electronic R&B sounds yet still sounds familiar – transforming her songs into a dynamic wall of sound that could felt at the very heights of the iconic venue. The instrumentation of each song and the way the band came together felt very natural, working not to overpower Kehlani’s vocals but to help guide the audience along sonic journey through her journey as a musician was a work of art.

Closing out Kehlani’s Crash World Tour, her Sydney show at the ICC was definitely a night to remember. Her ability to create make her shows personal clearly evident, even talking about hoping to see the majority of the crowd at her afterparty (hosted by Sydney’s very own Soulmate), while still proving to be the R&B powerhouse that she is. The show wraps up with a few more regional shows in Australia and before heading to Hawaii for her final solo performance of the tour.

Falling In Reverse’s Popular MonsTOUR – Rod Laver, Melbourne – Friday, March 14, 2025

by the partae March 15, 2025
written by the partae

Words and Photography: Louie Mosscrop

The night had finally arrived – Falling In Reverse’s Popular MonsTOUR in Melbourne. With a sold-out show at Rod Laver Arena, right in the middle of the F1 weekend and competing with a multitude of other artists performing across the city, selling out an arena was no small feat. It was a true testament to the dedication of Melbourne’s music fans.

Upon arrival, the lines surrounding Rod Laver Arena were unlike anything I had witnessed in a long time. There was no option for a fashionably late entrance if you wanted to get through the doors in time to catch the unique musical stylings and high-energy live performance of Hollywood Undead.

Hollywood Undead kicked off the night with their signature blend of hip-hop and rock, immediately energizing the crowd and setting the tone for the evening. Their stage presence added a theatrical element, making their performance as visually captivating as it was sonically dynamic. Their setlist, packed with fan favorites, showcased their ability to merge party anthems with heavier rock elements—a perfect way to start the show.

This was my second time seeing them live outside of a festival setting, my first being at The Rosemount Hotel in Perth around 2013 (if I remember correctly). The transition from an intimate venue to the grand Rod Laver stage was a significant leap, and they made sure to use every inch to their advantage. Their setlist featured hits from across their discography, including California Dreaming, Comin’ In Hot, Hollywood Forever, Bullet, and Undead. Whether it was your first time seeing them or you were a long-time fan, their performance was the perfect way to kickstart the night.

Next up, Black Veil Brides transformed the arena into a gothic spectacle, complete with dramatic lighting and their signature dark aesthetic. Andy Biersack’s commanding vocals, combined with the band’s intricate musicianship, demonstrated both technical skill and artistic vision. His ability to seamlessly switch between clean vocals and powerful screams is a testament to his two decades of experience on stage.

With their last visit to Melbourne being in 2020, it was clear fans had been eagerly awaiting their return. In the general admission section, nearly everyone was dancing or singing along to fan-favorite tracks. Their setlist spanned from their latest release Bleeders to older classics like Devil, Knives and Pens, Perfect Weapon, and In The End, to name a few. The band’s stage presence, combined with an impressive light show, provided not just a treat for the ears but a visual spectacle as well.

As the support acts wrapped up and anticipation for the headliner reached its peak, I want to take a moment to acknowledge the often-overlooked touring crews, venue staff, and behind-the-scenes teams. Seeing the seamless stage transformation between Black Veil Brides and Falling In Reverse, the well-managed GA sections, and the overall smooth execution of the night was a testament to the dedication and hard work of those in the live music and entertainment industries.

Then, it was time for Falling In Reverse. With their popularity only growing year after year—and Ronnie Radke ensuring everyone knows it—they were always going to deliver a visually intense performance.

As Highway to Hell played through the speakers, the lights dimmed, and the band made their way to the stage, led by Ronnie walking through the underground halls of Rod Laver Arena, playing up to the camera and exciting the crowd before finally emerging.

Known for their elaborate productions, Falling In Reverse incorporated striking visuals, pyrotechnics, and dynamic lighting to enhance Ronnie’s commanding performance. Their video clips played in sync with the music on the screens behind them, adding another layer to the experience and creating a multi-sensory spectacle that heightened the emotional impact of each song.

Ronnie wasted no time engaging with the audience, pacing across the front of the stage while pyrotechnics exploded not just behind the band, but in front, between, and even above them—yes, if you looked up, flames were shooting from the roof.

Never one to shy away from controversy, Ronnie introduced the infamous “Asshole Cam,” openly embracing the label and humorously extending it to the crowd. In true Radke fashion, he abruptly left the stage, declaring, “Let’s go to F1,” implying that, as fellow “assholes,” we would follow suit.

The band returned after a backstage skit featuring Steve Irwin, though Ronnie remained offstage for a while. This seemed to be an intentional move, allowing their live video feed to add another dynamic element to the performance—possibly also giving him a moment to cool down.

Despite his self-proclaimed “asshole” persona, Ronnie appeared genuinely appreciative and in awe of the massive turnout Melbourne had given him.

The setlist was stacked, featuring Zombified, I’m Not A Vampire, The Drug In Me Is You, All My Life, Popular Monster, and their collaborations with Tech N9NE and Alex Terrible of Slaughter To Prevail—Ronald and Watch The World Burn. No one in attendance could have left disappointed.

Beyond the technical aspects, the emotional connection between the bands and the audience was electric. The crowd—a diverse mix of ages and backgrounds—shared a collective passion for the music. The energy remained high throughout the night, with fans singing every word, raising their fists in unison, and moving as one across the arena floor, thanks to Ronnie’s direction.

The sheer diversity of the lineup—from the rap-rock fusion of Hollywood Undead to the theatrical metal of Black Veil Brides and the genre-bending style of Falling In Reverse—made for an unforgettable night that catered to a broad spectrum of Melbourne’s music lovers.

SOUTHERN RIVER BAND RELEASE “F**K YOU, PAY ME” + AUS TOUR MAY 2025

by the partae March 12, 2025
written by the partae

WA rock’n’roll saviours The Southern River Band have released their towering new single and rally cry, “F**k You, Pay Me”, out now via Civilians. The band will take the single out on a headline tour around the country in May.

A song of the people from the band who has your back, the single is a middle finger to all the dirtbags who refuse to cough up what’s owed. It’s a tale as old as capitalism – living week to week, watching your hard earned cash flow up into the ivory tower when the rent is due and the bills need to be paid. With its charged-up riff and galvanizing chorus, when the debt starts piling up chuck on the song and shout it with your whole chest.

“This song is for everyone who has ever been stiffed, ripped off, bullshitted or flat out not received what they were promised. To the guilty parties (see; thief) – F**k You, Pay Me.” – Cal Kramer (vocals)

Exploding into the spotlight at the end of 2023 after being featured on every music lover’s favourite YouTube series, Justin Hawkins Rides Again, the rest of the world is starting to see what Australia has known for quite some time – The Southern River Band are the real deal.

Hailing from Thornlie in Western Australia (Where? Exactly), SRB has spent a decade putting in the hard yards and earning their reputation the old-fashioned way: by taking their full-throttle live show anywhere with a stage and a bar. One of those ‘you-just-have-to-see-them-live’ kinda bands, SRB’s relentless touring schedule has seen them sell out multiple national runs, play with Aussie legends Cold Chisel and Rose Tattoo, as well as support modern-day rock icons like The Darkness and Eagles Of Death Metal.

In 2024, SRB kicked it up a gear with the release of their high-octane fourth record, D.I.Y, that not only landed at #6 on the Aus ARIA Chart, but the vinyl needed to be repressed before it was even released. The record’s breakout six-minute epic “Stan Qualen” thrust the band on the global stage, charting in 23 countries and taking them on their first international tour. The demand for SRB was so insatiable their first UK show sold out in just four days, leading to a venue upgrade more than double the size which, you guessed it, sold out – as did most of the tour. The band has also found a home on the European festival stages, leaving thousands gobsmacked at The Great Escape, Vestrock, Sweden Rock Festival, Rock Wrechter and Down The Rabbit Hole, and they will return in 2025 to dominate Download, Hellfest and Resurrection festivals.

Before the band duck off back to Europe, they’ll take their new single out for a spin on an Australian headline tour – hitting capital cities in May. Tickets on sale March 13 via thesouthernriverband.com.

As Justin Hawkins of The Darkness said, “Now this is a proper f***ing rock band”. But hey, don’t take our word for it, find out for yourself.
