I HATE MODELS ANNOUNCES HEADLINE SHOW IN MELBOURNE WITH PATRICK MASON & PEGASSI

by the partae September 20, 2025
written by the partae
Saturday 3 January 2026 – PICA, Melbourne

Following unprecedented demand since his last sold-out visit, global techno heavyweight, I Hate Models returns to PICA Melbourne on Saturday 3rd January 2026 presented by XE54 and Untitled Group.

Joining him for this occasion are Patrick Mason and Pegassi ensuring this will be one of the most highly anticipated electronic events to kick start 2026.

Fresh off the back of announcing his slot at Beyond The Valley, Australia’s largest camping festival which is already sold out, I Hate Models now delivers Melbourne fans another chance to experience his commanding and uncompromising performances.

A true force on the global circuit, I Hate Models has released music on his own label Disco Inferno, delivered remixes for Depeche Mode, and created international anthems such as his edit of Toro. His latest EP, Forever Melancholia, continues to showcase his uncompromising sound. The DJ and producer has also headlined Ultra Music Festival, EDC, Awakenings, Tomorrowland and more, cementing his reputation as one of techno’s most in-demand artists.

Famed for sets that traverse trance, and techno with emotional intensity, his sound rejects formula and embraces raw catharsis. On his last visit to Melbourne in October 2024, I Hate Models sold out two shows at PICA Melbourne, proving the sheer demand for his return and reaffirming his cult-like following within Australia.

Berlin’s Patrick Mason brings his boundary-pushing hybrid of music, fashion, and art. Known for his powerful stage presence and “techno extravaganza” style, Mason has played at Awakenings, Time Warp, Printworks, Tomorrowland, and DC-10. His creative influence also spans into fashion, including collaborations with Maison Margiela and Trippen, and as Ray-Ban’s first external creative director — where his designs sold out globally within days

Belgium’s Pegassi has rapidly risen as one of the most exciting voices in electronic music. Breaking through with his remix of No Type, which hit #1 on Soundcloud’s global charts, and his club anthem Yoyoyo, Pegassi has since gained support from tastemakers including Marlon Hoffstadt, Anetha, Trym, and Solomun. With performances at Tomorrowland, Intercell, and more, he is now driving forward with his own imprint and event series, Sweet Nothing, cementing his global trajectory.

Also joining the event will be homegrown talent Mikalah Watego b2b Hannah D, rounding out the incredible lineup of artists taking to the stage this January.

Untitled Group, Australia’s largest independent music promoter, is celebrating 10 years of redefining the live music scene with flagship events including Beyond The Valley, Pitch Music & Arts, Wildlands and Ability Fest.

Ocean Alley release fifth album “Love Balloon” – TOURING NATIONALLY IN JANUARY/FEBRUARY 2026

by the partae September 19, 2025
written by the partae

Globally renowned rockers Ocean Alley today return with their most vibrant and confident body of work yet, unveiling their fifth studio album Love Balloon, out now independently via Community Music. The release is led by the luminous focus track and video “Drenched”, capturing the six-piece’s gift for transforming vulnerability into something cathartic and universally resonant.

To celebrate the release of Love Balloon, Ocean Alley are hosting a series of exclusive fan pop-ups and launch parties across the East Coast where fans can get their hands on an exclusive signed vinyl variant limited to 500 units. In Melbourne, Soundmerch HQ will be transformed into a Love Balloon pop-up store this entire weekend, followed by a special launch party at Hotel Brunswick in Byron Bay on Saturday 20 September from midday. The celebrations will wrap up in Sydney on Sunday 21 September with a takeover of Bombies at the Harbord Hotel.

Across 10 tracks, Love Balloon takes listeners on a journey through life and love in all its complexity, anchored by moments of light, vulnerability and connection. Written during a time of significant personal milestones for each band member, that undercurrent fed directly into their pursuit of new sounds. With legendary rock producer Nick DiDia (Bruce Springsteen, Rage Against The Machine, Powderfinger) at the helm, the album embraces a stripped-back, organic approach that prioritised spontaneity and openness through the recording process. Woven with influences as diverse as Creedence Clearwater Revival, The Bee Gees, Kokoroko and GUM, it wears its inspirations with reverence while carving out its own distinct Ocean Alley-flair.

Keyboardist and vocalist Lach Galbraith shared, “The album explores the many layered dimensions of love – not just the cinematic kind where you’re falling head over heels, but the full spectrum: joy, hurt, discomfort and disappointment. Let’s call it the river of love – whether it’s with a partner, a friend, or family, you never know when it’ll get deep, go shallow, or suddenly change course. It’s such a force that you have to just surrender to its current.”

From the disarmingly simple four-chord progression that opens “First Blush”, there is an immediate shift from records past – its melodic ease feels instantly familiar, like a song that you’ve always known. The toasty, sun-soaked “Tangerine” has already cemented itself as an audience favourite, while the driving beat of “Thru Everything” and the bluesy swagger of “Left Of The Dealer” showcase the strength of the band’s rock DNA. At the album’s core sits the buoyant title track “Love Balloon” – anchored by an irresistible groove, pulsating bassline and shimmering guitar riff, threaded with Nile Rodgers-inspired funk that marks playful new territory for the group. And closing track “Drenched”, which drifts in like golden hour, warmed by slide guitar and subtle country twang, soaring on vintage synths and whirling guitars. Baden Donegal’s hypnotic vocals swell with dizzying self-reflection to glimmers of hope and release, it’s a finale that transforms introspection into bliss. The accompanying video was inspired by a wave of early-2000s nostalgia, drawing on director Duncan Wright’s own memories of growing up skating and “being ratbags when there wasn’t any swell” in Gracetown where the clip was shot – and aligning similarly to how the Ocean Alley boys grew up. Channeling that energy, the video features first-time actors alongside the band, who were given the freedom to play around in different scenes… surfing, loitering and capturing the carefree spirit of youth.

Love Balloon is a triumphant record that celebrates joy, reckons with change and reaffirms Ocean Alley’s deep commitment to each other and to the music that binds them. It’s the sound of a band pushing their creative limits, surprising at every turn, and reminding us that emotional truth doesn’t need to be complicated to be profound.

To celebrate the release, Ocean Alley will take Love Balloon on the road in early 2026 for their biggest Australian headline shows to date. Kicking off at Melbourne/Wurundjeri’s Catani Gardens on Saturday 24 January, the band will then head to Brisbane/Meanjin Showgrounds on Friday 30 January, before hitting The Domain in their hometown of Sydney/Eora on Saturday 31 January. They’ll round out the tour on the West Coast at Freo Esplanade and 3 Oceans Winery in Margaret River/Wadandi on Saturday 21 February and Sunday 22 February respectively. The East Coast shows will exclusively feature UK alt-rockers Nothing But Thieves and platinum-selling US outfit Rainbow Kitten Surprise, alongside the raw and relatable Ruby Fields. On the West Coast, DIY heroes Skegss join Ruby Fields and Perth’s rising indie-pop darlings Smol Fish.

The Australian run will follow a huge slate of international dates throughout 2025, including festival appearances at Lollapalooza, Sziget and Austin City Limits; two North American tours; the band’s first-ever shows in South America; and their largest headline show to date at London’s iconic 10,000-capacity Alexandra Palace.

With a catalogue surpassing 1 billion streams and a reputation for their magnetic live performances, Ocean Alley have cemented themselves as one of Australia’s most influential contemporary bands. Their breakthrough hit “Confidence” topped triple j’s Hottest 100 in 2018, has since gone 6x Platinum and charted around the world, plus most recently placed #65 in triple j’s Hottest 100 of Australian Songs.

With Love Balloon, Ocean Alley step into a bold new chapter – a band at the height of their powers, bringing their most open, spontaneous and radiant work to life on their biggest stages yet.

The Southern River Band Reveal Toe-Tappin’ Track “All Over Town”

by the partae September 18, 2025
written by the partae

New Album Easier Said Than Done out October 17 Followed by an Australian Tour

We can’t keep up with WA rockdogs The Southern River Band who have gifted us their strutting new single, “All Over Town”, lifted from forthcoming record, Easier Said Than Done, out October 17 via Civilians.

With a bluesy-twang acoustic intro that quickly gives way to the swagger-soaked groove that has become The Southern River Band’s trademark, “All Over Town” is a playfully irresistible, toe-tappin’, head-noddin’ jam.

“If you’ve wondered what someone gets up to when you’re not around, and wondered what that wonderment would sound like over a foot-tappin’ good time, then boy do we have the song for you!” says vocalist-guitarist Cal Kramer.

Recorded with Grammy-winning producer Nick DiDia (Pearl Jam, Bruce Springsteen) in Byron Bay, Easier Said Than Done is a 12-song arse-kicking odyssey of Thin Lizzy-styled harmonies, AC/DC boogie and Aerosmith swagger. “All Over Town” joins previously released singles: Bernard Fanning-penned “No Such Time”, catchy AF payday anthem “F**k You, Pay Me” and the pub rock bravado of “Don’t Take It To Heart” displaying the breadth of their serious talent and musicianship under the cheeky demeanor and that herculean mullet.

The Falcon will be in full flight next month when they take Easier Said Than Done out for its first spin around the country. Back on home turf after tearing up some of the most revered rock festival mainstages across the UK and Europe, SRB recently blew the socks off at BIGSOUND with a string of jam-packed and very sweaty barnstorming sets, showing Australia exactly why the rest of the world has an insatiable appetite for Thornlie’s finest.

Europe and the UK won’t have to wait too long to be satiated as the band have just announced a stack of tour dates in the region in February 2026.

Cosmic Psychos Return With 40-Date National Tour & They Still Really Like Beer

by the partae September 11, 2025
written by the partae

Australia’s favourite beer-fuelled legends Cosmic Psychos are back with their twelfth studio album I Really Like Beer on Friday November 7, and they’re hitting the road the very same day. No mucking around.

Recorded to tape with Paul Maybury at Secret Location Studios between Knighty’s vineyard duties and CFA callouts, the new record is classic Psychos. As raw, loud and gloriously dumb as ever – with the occasional life lesson hidden under a pile of riffs. If you’ve been paying attention since *checks notes*, 1982, you already know what you’re in for.

The first sip comes in the form of “I Like Beer“, a touching love letter from Ross to his true love. This one comes to life with an absolutely bonkers video (we’d expect nothing less).

To mark the album release, the band is heading off on their most ridiculous tour yet. 40 regional dates right across Australia, kicking off in early November and charging into 2026. RSLs, pubs, halls and hard-earned beers with the local townsfolk.

The band will be joined on drums by none other than Dan Peters (Mudhoney, Nirvana) for the first leg and that young whippersnapper BC from Dune Rats on the second stretch. One tour. Two drummers. No downtime. We dare you to find a more extensive tour in Aussie Rock history.

“We made a record about beer, so now we’re going to play it in as many pubs as possible. Simple.” says Knight.

And because idle hands make mischief, Knighty has also decided to launch a brand new weekly podcast, How Ya Goin? (with Dr Knighty). Equal parts mental health check-in and pub-style yarn, the show features honest conversations with some of his mates, who also happen to be some of the biggest names in music. Season 1 guests include Eamon Sandwith (The Chats), Donita Sparks (L7), Tim Rogers (You Am I), Scarlet McKahey (Teen Jesus and the Jean Teasers) and many more. It’s warm, funny, loose, and totally unfiltered, just like the bloke hosting it.

To Octavia share single “What’s My Name?” off upcoming debut album ‘MELODRAMA’

by the partae September 9, 2025
written by the partae

Melbourne alternative rock group To Octavia return with a fire in their belly on their attitude-packed new single “What’s My Name?“, off their debut album, MELODRAMA, which will be released Friday October 31.

“What’s My Name?” captures the trademark To Octavia sound juxtaposing heavy with melody while channeling their frustrations at the state of the world, confronting the destructive ways people treat one another and the fallout when someone is pushed too far. The track follows on from previous releases “Talk Is Cheap” and “bury me.”, which together have clocked over 150,000 Spotify streams and earned global coverage, alongside national exposure with a Channel 7 Thursday Night Football spin.

All three leading singles have showcased the darker, heavier direction To Octavia are embracing on MELODRAMA, building on their genre-blending roots with the harsher energy of their earlier work, now delivered with more conviction. The album is produced, mixed and mastered by longtime collaborator Chris Lalic (Windwaker, RinRin), with accompanying music videos directed and edited by Colin Jeffs of Ten of Swords Media.

With the release of their first single “bury me.”, To Octavia welcomed new guitarist Nav Jay to the lineup, officially joining the fold alongside Merry Kirk-Holmes (vocals) and brothers Justin Keurntjes (guitar) and Lucas Keurntjes (drums) as they charge into the year with a full release waiting in the wings.

Best known for their mix of metal, pop, and electronic elements, To Octavia earned national recognition with their breakout EP Somewhere in a World, Not of the Dream‘ scoring play across triple j and being named a triple j Unearthed Feature Artist. Since then, the band have released their 2023 EP Wonderland, selling out multiple hometown shows, touring nationally, and performing at acclaimed festivals like UNIFY Gathering, BIGSOUND 2022, and Yours & Owls (cancelled due to NSW floods).

The band’s profile rocketed further when SEGA tapped vocalist Merry Kirk-Holmes to write and perform the main theme for the global video game hit Sonic Frontiers, a testament to their creative reach beyond the traditional heavy space. To Octavia continue on their path as one of Australia’s most forward-thinking acts in alternative music. Their past releases have scored support from Rage, MTV Upload, Channel 7 AFL, and multiple triple j programs, and have collectively amassed over a million Spotify streams.

“What’s My Name” is out now and streaming everywhere, MELODRAMA will be available Friday October 31.

THE LAST DINNER PARTY ANNOUNCE WORLDWIDE TOUR AUSTRALIA & NEW ZEALAND – JANUARY 2026 TICKETS ONSALE 10AM LOCAL TIME, FRIDAY 12 SEPTEMBER SIGN UP FOR PRESALE

by the partae September 4, 2025
written by the partae

The Last Dinner Party are pleased to announce details of a huge headline tour that spans the UK and Europe, with a major run of Australia and New Zealand shows confirmed for January 2026.

The 35-date run kicks off with a UK/Ireland run which starts at Dublin’s 3Arena on 14th November and concludes with two nights at O2 Academy Brixton in London on 7th and 8th December. The band then heads to Australia in January for shows in Melbourne, Sydney, Adelaide, Brisbane and Perth, then to Auckland and on to Europe in February.

The Last Dinner Party release their second album, From The Pyre, on 17th October 2025 via Island EMI. Watch the video for  album’s lead single, “This Is The Killer Speaking” HERE/ below.

The Last Dinner Party – This Is The Killer Speaking (Official Video)

The London five-piece headed into the studio early 2025 with Grammy Award winning producer Markus Dravs (Wolf Alice, Florence & The Machine, Bjork) to start work on the follow-up to their number 1 debut album, 2023’s Prelude to Ecstasy. From The Pyre is the sound of a band having a lot of fun rather than feeling any innate pressure to follow-up on what was an explosively successful debut record. It’s also the sound of a young band developing and maturing their songwriting together, as tight a unit as the endless months out on the road pay testament to.

Speaking about the LP, the band said: “This record is a collection of stories, and the concept of album-as-mythos binds them. ‘The Pyre’ itself is an allegorical place in which these tales originate, a place of violence and destruction but also regeneration, passion and light.

“The songs are character driven but still deeply personal, a commonplace life event pushed to pathological extreme. Being ghosted becomes a Western dance with a killer, and heartbreak laughs into the face of the apocalypse. Lyrics invoke rifles, scythes, sailors, saints, cowboys, floods, Mother Earth, Joan of Arc, and blazing infernos. We found this kind of evocative imagery to be the most honest and truthful way to discuss the way our experiences felt, giving each the emotional weight it deserves.”

“This record feels a little darker, more raw and more earthy; it takes place looking out at a sublime landscape rather than seated an opulent table. It also feels metatextual and cheeky in places, like a knowing look reflected back at ourselves.”

With two BRIT Awards to their name (including Breakthrough Artist earlier this year), and having sold out virtually every show they played right across the globe (including three sold-out hometown shows at London’s Eventim Apollo), The Last Dinner Party’s arrival and subsequent worldwide success was one of the most thrilling introductions to a new British band in decades, and From The Pyre’s opening introduction suggests that unparalleled success story shows no signs of relenting.

Pre-order From The Pyre here.

BOY & BEAR SHARE DOUBLE A-SIDE SINGLE AND VIDEOS ‘WHERE DOES LIFE BEGIN’ / ‘VERTIGO’ + ANNOUNCE BIGGEST HEADLINE SHOW EVER AT THE SYDNEY OPERA HOUSE FORECOURT IN DEC

by the partae September 3, 2025
written by the partae

An exciting new chapter for beloved indie alternative act Boy & Bear unfurls, with the group powerfully returning armed with a double A-side single and videos, Where Does Life Begin and Vertigo. Launching an ambitious new era via this new material, Boy & Bear balance optimism with introspection, with lead single Where Does Life Begin embracing a yearning for the freedom of youth. And bolstering the Boy & Bear magic today, this double A-side release comes accompanied by the announcement of the band’s biggest headline show to date, set to take the iconic Sydney Opera House Forecourt by storm this December, joined by special guests Hollow Coves and Darcie Haven.

Tickets for Boy & Bear’s Sydney Opera House Forecourt show are on sale now from https://www.sydneyoperahouse.com/on-the-steps/boy-and-bear

Balancing dreamy indie pop hues on Where Does Life Begin with more upbeat and hopeful vibes via Vertigo, Boy & Bear’s trademark nostalgic, vintage pop sound vividly transforms on their new double A-side, with inspiration for both tracks also steeped in reflection in their own unique respective ways, and anchored in real-life experiences, as vocalist and guitarist Dave Hosking elaborates, “The inspiration for Where Does Life Begin came from my own personal experiences. The song is about yearning for the freedom of youth. Sometimes the passing of time changes us in a way where we can feel like we’ve lost a part of ourselves. I think on some level I miss the naivety I once had about the world. In our 20’s we seem less inhibited and more confident about what’s in front of us, but the realities of life can eventually start to catch up with us. I liked the simplicity of the idea of watching people dancing from afar and feeling like maybe I no longer belonged there”.

“I’m interested in painting a mood with lyrics and melody,” Hosking continues, “not being too specific or literal but leaving room for interpretation, and I feel that Vertigo is a good example of this. That said, Vertigo explores the awkwardness of life and time and change. We grow up, but on some level we can still feel like children – we really don’t know anything at all – but maybe that’s also okay? I really wanted to explore this concept in a light-hearted way. On some level it’s also about embracing these moments in our lives with a sense of humour and openness.”

Starting the journey towards their new material at the tail end of their North American tour late last year, Boy & Bear stayed on for a week in Los Angeles post-tour, collaborating with musician and producer Justin Stanley (Prince, Eric Clapton, Paul McCartney, Beck) at Stella Sound Studios. “We really hit it off with Justin and the new album was born,” says bassist Dave Symes. “Justin then came to Australia in February, and we made the album all together in our newly built studio in Marrickville, Sydney’s Inner West”.

And introducing the first peek into the upcoming new Boy & Bear era today via Where Does Life Begin and Vertigo, the band also worked to conjure equally evocative accompanying official videos for each the tracks, as explained by their creative director Jeremy Koren  (Grey Ghost / Ghostie Studios), “”In a sea of inauthenticity we wanted to slap the face of the viewer with nostalgia via a montage of images on images using a variety of 80 – 90’s broadcast cameras and 8mm film and Hi-8. Countryside, eating sandwiches by rivers, playing guitar in a phone booth, dancing on your own with headphones on, stunning surrounds but the grey suits offsets and ground the video. We aim to not be too literal with this one, but give the sense that the group of suited men are on a journey, constantly moving through this endless maze.”

Expertly versed in balancing personal experiences with universal themes, alongside their own trademark blend of vintage pop, alternative elements and folk edges, Boy & Bear channel nostalgia into charming and captivating sonic journeys. Already in command of a staggering level of staying power most artists could only dream of, Boy & Bear took the world by storm via their 2011 debut album Moonfire, snagging five ARIA award wins, including Best Group and Album of the Year, and reaching double-Platinum status. From there, 2013’s Harlequin Dream and 2015’s Limit of Love further stamped Boy & Bear’s stalwart presence on a global scale, with both albums charting at #1, and Harlequin Dream also marking the band’s second studio album to be certified Platinum. Between 2019’s Suck on Light through to their most recent full-length release, 2023’s self-titled, both records reached top 10 in the charts, and Boy & Bear have continued to cultivate a legion of fans across the globe, with over half a billion streams, five consecutive top 10 albums and a horde of unforgettable live performances in their wake.

Renowned for their uniquely compelling live shows, and fresh off the back of selling the most headline tickets of their career globally, Boy & Bear are now set to cement their powerful return in 2025 in a live setting alongside their new material, with their biggest headline show to date set to take place on December 14, performing on the steps at the iconic Sydney Opera House Forecourt with special guests Hollow Coves and Darcie Haven.

“It’s very exciting for us!” enthuses Dave Symes. “It will be a special moment to release the new album at this show, and get to play some of the singles from us… We always like to play songs from all of our albums and make a nice journey for our audiences so there will be a good mix of old and new, and hopefully some special guests.”

In the meantime, the ambitious new chapter for Boy & Bear officially launches into the world today, encompassing triumph, movement and optimism along with haunting-yet-cathartic melancholy and introspection via their double A-side, Where Does Life Begin and Vertigo. And, as the band concludes, these new tracks are the beginning of something truly special as the group turn their gaze to a brand new album ahead.

“It feels very exciting. I never get tired of releasing new songs into the wilderness. Of course, there are a few nerves but generally speaking it’s nice to have a new chapter of music out there.”

“In regards to the double A-side, we decided to do it because it allowed us to show some different aspects of the record straight off the bat. We wanted people to get a sense that this record is multilayered and hopefully get excited by that.”

Boy & Bear are also releasing the Double A Side on a very limited edition ‘Double A Side Flame Yellow 7″ Vinyl’ that is available through their website https://www.boyandbear.com

Bali, Indonesia – AXEAN Festival 2025 has officially announced its final lineup for this year’s edition. The stage is set for the intra-regional showcase festival in Asia, as it welcomes 43 music acts across three stages at Jimbaran Hub in Bali, Indonesia, from September 13 to 14, 2025.

Completing the final round of performers are some of the most prominent and emerging names in the Indonesian music scene, including acclaimed singer-songwriter Alex Teh, metal/hardcore quintet AVHATH, beloved folk duo Banda Neira, rising indie act Gozal, alternative rock outfit Grizzly Cluive, genre-bending band Morbid Monke, indie rock powerhouse Sandstorm of Youth, melancholic indie group sourmilk, multi-talented musician Xandega, and a special collaboration set between Bandung-based punk rock band Dongker and acclaimed singer-songwriter Jason Ranti.

The announcement also brings an exciting mix of Asian talents, such as trailblazing Malaysian R&B artist Alextbh, Laotian musician BIGPOM, Thai indie rock act LEMONY, Thai rock band Cvptain Morgans, Japanese singer-songwriter Kiwako Ashimine, J-indie artist Mettya Bizin (めっちゃ美人), Vietnamese indie/dream pop project Milkiwav, Vietnamese indie act Nghịch, and Filipino genre-fluid band Weejah.

These artists join an already diverse roster that includes Billyrrom., Blindfold, Capt’n Trips and the Kid, Confined White, DJ Love, DOOR PLANT, Fauxe, Feel Koplo x Toxicdev!, Jangar, Johnny Mafia, Kelompok Penerbang Roket, La Cima Cartel, L’Alphalpha, Lustbass, MANJA, Ministry Of, One Click Straight, Shanghai Quitian, Shye, SIMILE LAND, S.O.L.E., Su San, Terrer, Valentina Ploy, and XANDEGA.

TuneCore’s key role in curating the final batch of lineup

This year, TuneCore played a pivotal role in shaping the final lineup, expanding its position as one of AXEAN Festival’s most important partners. Through a four-month, multi-stage submission and rigid selection process spanning five countries in Southeast Asia, TuneCore helped discover and elevate standout independent voices that have made a mark in their niche markets.

Cyrus Chen, Head of TuneCore Southeast Asia, recalls the selection process that they went through before picking the finest acts that show global potential. “It began with open biweekly submissions, attracting over 600 entries,” Cyrus explains. “Selected artists progressed to monthly live showcases at local venues, with each monthly winner advancing to country finals. Out of the 27 finalists, our local panels chose the six artists performing at AXEAN. The biggest surprise was probably the incredible depth of undiscovered talent. We found remarkable hidden gems across diverse and often genre-blending styles. What was particularly striking was how many of these artists hadn’t formally released music yet.”

When asked about the criteria in picking the artists who made it to TuneCore’s AXEAN stage, Cyrus emphasised the importance of authenticity and range, and how beyond raw talent, there’s a need to prioritise artists whose music authentically integrates local flair and cultural influences. “Showcasing a diverse spectrum of genres was also essential,” he adds.

For their part, the top global distribution and label services company, along with AXEAN Festival, promises to use their platform to foster real-world opportunities, apart from empowering artists digitally. “We actively nurture talent by providing platforms for exposure, facilitating live performance experience at scale (from local venues to major festivals), educational opportunities (workshops and masterclasses to up-skill artists), and connecting artists directly with new audiences and industry stakeholders across borders. We go beyond distribution to open doors for market access and career growth that are often out of reach for independent artists.”

The Orchard-AXEAN Festival partnership

The Orchard, a prominent music distribution company operating in over 49 cities worldwide, has expressed its support for AXEAN Festival through a strategic partnership. Both music entities share a vision of empowering artists to broaden their horizons and access new music markets beyond their turfs. Together, both AXEAN and The Orchard are keen on dismantling barriers and enabling Southeast Asian creative communities to showcase their music on a global stage.

As Prahlad Prabhas, The Orchard’s Senior Director, Southeast Asia, explains it, “This [collaboration] aligns perfectly with The Orchard’s philosophy of helping artists grow outside their home markets. We’re thrilled to be part of that journey this year by sponsoring a stage. For us, it’s more than just about the music—it’s about celebrating the creativity and energy of this region and sharing it with the world.”

We’re so excited to finally share what we’ve been working on for our 10th edition of Beyond The Valley. This year’s lineup is our biggest yet, bringing back familiar faces while welcoming first time performances.”

Quote attributable to Minister for Tourism, Sport and Major Events Steve Dimopoulos: “We are proud to back Beyond the Valley, with thousands of festival goers from interstate and overseas expected to flock to the region boosting our local businesses and jobs.”

EXPERIENCES:

This 10th anniversary edition will see Beyond The Valley’s three main iconic stages return bigger and better, with the Valley Stage reimagined alongside UK design studio Vision Factory, a newly revamped Dance Dome, and the return of the iconic Dr Dan’s.

New and returning onsite activations include The Lounge Room for cinema, conversations, and podcasts (presented by The Daily Aus), Poof Doof’s Cirque Du Slay, and The Palms Pool House for cooling off in style.

Festival discovery stages Jack Daniel’s House Party, Red Bull Unforeseen, and Smirnoff Schmall Klub will evolve with fresh twists, while The Sanctuary presented by QV Ceramides expands its wellness program of meditation, saunas, and cold plunges.

written by the partae

Brisbane – January 1st (New Year’s Day), 2026 – Brisbane Showgrounds
Perth – January 3rd (Saturday), 2026 – Arena Joondalup

Presented by Untitled Group, Beyond The Valley and triple j, Wildlands Festival has unveiled its lineup for 2026, promising a day of world-class performances and unforgettable summer energy.

Headlining this year’s events in Brisbane and Perth are global dance music powerhouse Dom Dolla, songwriter, actress and cultural phenomenon Addison Rae and alternative hip-hop visionary Kid Cudi.

This year’s colossal roster also features Chris Stussy, KETTAMA, Luude, 070 Shake, Balu Brigada, Cassian, Channel Tres, Fcukers, Miss Kaninna, NOTION, sim0ne, and more, bringing together global pop icons, electronic powerhouses, and the hottest rising acts.

Dom Dolla joins the Wildlands lineup with huge momentum following a record-breaking year that has seen him headline two sold-out Madison Square Garden shows, ignite crowds at Lollapalooza, Bonnaroo, EDC Las Vegas, Ultra Miami, and launched a 10-week Hï Ibiza residency. With over a Billion streams, a Grammy nomination, three ARIA Awards, and hits like “Dreamin’” (feat. Daya), “Forever” (with Kid Cudi), plus his cinematic debut “No Room For A Saint” from the F1: The Movie soundtrack, he continues to cement his place as one of the world’s most in-demand electronic artists. After the announcement of his biggest-ever Australian headline show at Sydney’s Allianz Stadium this December, Dom Dolla is set to deliver a performance that will undoubtedly go down as one of the festival’s most iconic moments.

Fresh off the release of her acclaimed debut album Addison, delivering viral hits “Diet Pepsi,” “Headphones On”, “Aquamarine”, and “Fame Is A Gun”, songwriter, actress and cultural phenomenon Addison Rae has transformed from viral video sensation to boundary-pushing pop artist. Addison has amassed over 88 million followers on TikTok, with over 5.8 billion likes, and 34 million followers on Instagram. The pop phenomenon’s artistry and undeniable charisma have positioned her as one of the defining voices and faces of her generation. Addison Rae will take to the Wildlands stage, bringing her hypnotic blend of nostalgia and innovation to Brisbane and Perth.

Making his first Australian appearance in over a decade, Kid Cudi joins the Wildlands stage as one of alternative hip-hop’s most visionary forces. From his breakout hit “Day ‘n’ Nite” to the genre-defining Man on the Moon trilogy, Cudi’s raw, introspective storytelling has inspired a generation. With over 22 million units sold, multiple Grammy wins, and a global reputation as a trailblazer, his return will be a landmark moment for Australian fans.

A driving force in global house music, Chris Stussy celebrates five years of his acclaimed label Up The Stuss in 2025, fresh off a sold-out London debut for his USS event series and a peak-time Coachella Yuma set. With #1 Beatport releases, standout remixes for Moby and Todd Terry, and festival appearances from Lowlands to Creamfields, Stussy’s deep, minimal, and precision-crafted sound will make his Wildlands debut one to remember.

Genre-bending and emotionally charged, 070 Shake has carved a unique path across emo-rap, atmospheric R&B, and cinematic alt-pop. Off the back of her latest album Petrichor, she has received great acclaim for her immersive, genre-defying vision. After a string of acclaimed European festival performances in 2025, she’s set to deliver an unforgettable Wildlands debut.

KETTAMA, whose track ‘Pretty Green Eyes’ (Sunset Ibiza Mix) featured in the second video released across Wildlands socials earlier in the week, will unleash his hard-hitting house sound, with a BBC Radio 1 Dance Residency coming in 2025 and his “It Gets Better (Forever Mix)” making big waves on charts around the world. Grammy-winning producer Cassian, known for collaborations with RÜFÜS DU SOL, Anyma, and Dom Dolla, brings his genre-defining melodic house and techno mastery to the lineup.

Exploding from his Tasmanian roots into global drum and bass fame, Luude broke through with back-to-back multi-platinum hits “Down Under” and “Big City Life”, followed by charting singles “TMO” with Bru-C and “Oh My”. An ARIA Award winner and one of the highest-selling D&B artists of the last decade, he has launched his own imprint No Instruction while touring relentlessly across the world’s biggest stages.

A rising force in UK bass, NOTION blends garage, bassline, jungle and house into high-energy sets that hit with raw energy. Off the back of his viral remix of Chrystal’s “The Days”, which stormed international charts and lit up TikTok, he has cemented himself as one of electronic music’s most exciting names and an unmissable addition to the Wildlands lineup.

sim0ne adds her blend of house and techno sounds alongside her signature euphoric energy while New Zealand-born brothers and latest NME cover stars Balu Brigada bring their unmistakable genre. Miss Kaninna brings a fierce, unapologetic presence that has marked her as one of Australia’s most exciting new live performers, with SOTA bringing his signature drum and bass sounds to the lineup.

Also joining the lineup are a string of exciting live acts and DJs including Jazzy, ZULAN, TEED, Willo, RONA., Waxx Off, Mincy, Mowgli May, and more.

For the first time ever, Wildlands Brisbane will take over Brisbane Showgrounds on New Year’s Day, the perfect way to start 2026. Wildlands Perth will follow on January 3rd, returning to its iconic home at Arena Joondalup. Both events will feature reimagined stage designs, including an all-new 360° ‘in the round’ stage with a four-point sound system and raised dance floors, plus updated site layouts for an even more immersive experience. Fans can elevate their day with the Casamigos House Of Friends VIP Pass or take advantage of flexible payment plans and ticket request options.

Fans can expect Wildlands to once again deliver the best in electronic, hip-hop and indie music, with a stacked lineup of global pop icons and rising talent set to define the sonic year ahead. Previous editions have featured the likes of Tyler, The Creator, RÜFÜS DU SOL, Peggy Gou, Central Cee, FISHER, Diplo, BICEP, A$AP Ferg, G Flip, Becky Hill, Chase & Status, Lola Young and more.

The countdown to Wildlands 2026 is on. Gather your crew, lock in your tickets, and get ready to run wild this summer.
