TOTTY REVEAL HOTLY AWAITED SOPHOMORE EP 'GARDEN' TODAY ALONGSIDE NEW SINGLE 'CHANGE'

“…this follow up EP is TOTTY in full bloom. The Wollongong grunge trio are a life raft for those who prefer their contemplation of restlessness and detachment to be loud and under-polished.” – Rolling Stone Australia

Boisterous Wollongong trio TOTTY today reveal their hotly awaited sophomore EP ‘Garden’ alongside uninhibited new single and video ‘Change’, out through Ratbag Records/BMG.

A more mature omnibus than their previously lauded debut ‘Cut The Poppies’, ‘Garden’ reflects the growth the band have made together and individually. Singer Kelly reinstates the notion saying “A lot has changed since we wrote our EP but we are proud of where the songs came from, and where we are now. Learning to embrace all the different parts of growing and changing.” Dealing with themes of monotony and transformation the EP only resonates further in this year of uncertainty.

Produced by Kelly’s brother Brett Jansch (Dune Rats) and engineered by Jack Nigro at the beloved Grove Studios, the group succeeded in harnessing the band’s unmistakable live energy and grunge heavy riffs, a sentiment reinforced by the Rolling Stone review.

Sometimes it’s just better to be yourself and that’s exactly what TOTTY have embodied in ‘Change’ which arrives alongside previously released tracks ‘Berrarra’, ‘Fairies’, ‘Same Bed’ and fan favourite ‘Lucky’. The song’s meaning is what it says in the title with the band commenting “There will always be times you feel the need to change, it can be hard to know whether you’re the person you want to be or whether you’re trying to fit someone else’s ideas. We hope this song shows that being yourself is the best person you can be.”

The first track lifted from the EP ‘Lucky’ immediately resonated with radio. It was swiftly added to rotation at triple j and sat in their Top 50 Most Played for a month, ultimately reaching #13. They then completed their own headline tour full of sold out dates, and fronted the camera for an Aus Music Month shoot with General Pants.

Never ones to shy away from the tour van, TOTTY spent the start of 2020 on a national tour with Dune Rats, Ruby Fields and Dear Seattle and have played alongside names like SKEGGS, Hockey Dad and Slowly Slowly as well as graced the festival stages of Falls Festival, Yours & Owls, Fairgrounds, Farmer and the Owl and Grow Your Own more than proving their on stage prowess.
