OPENS DECEMBER 7 AT BEHIND THE GALLERY – 205 OXFORD ST, DARLINGHURST

“I’ve done what I love for over 40 years now. I have a million stories and the photos to prove it.”

Sydney, 22 November, 2022:  LA based photographer, CHRIS CUFFARO has returned to Australia bags packed and overflowing with some of his most iconic photos, for a must see pop-up exhibition CHRIS CUFFARO: GREATEST HITS.  The collection showcases some of his best work with artists spanning all genres of music and capturing era-defining visual stories.

Celebrating 30 years of music photography, the GREATEST HITS exhibition will include photos of Nirvana, Daniel Johns, Michael Hutchence, Iggy Pop, George Michael, Scott Weiland, Fiona Apple, Morrissey, Limp Bizkit, Korn, Eddie Van Halen and more.

Opening Wednesday, December 7 through to December 11 at Room 205 in Darlinghurst, fans of music, photography and pop culture will be able to get up close and personal with Chris and some of the world’s most globally recognised musicians via his stunning and raw photos.   Over five days the exhibition programme will include music, artists talk, workshops and more.

Cuffaro has been shooting artists for the past 30+ years and has no intention of slowing down, he says: “I couldn’t wait to come back to Australia, I love it here.  After the boarders opened again, I felt like it was time to celebrate my greatest loves: photography and music. I’ve created a project that share these passions and I’ve narrowed it down and chosen the best of the best, selecting these iconic images from my massive catalogue of music photography. These are my Greatest Hits!  Most people will recognise these artists and finally know who shot them. This pop-up project is my way of saying thank you to everyone I’ve worked with over the years who helped me live my dream”.

This latest Australian exhibition, presented by Behind the Gallery, follows on from his 2019 Greatest Hits: Michael Hutchence and Greatest Hits: Grunge at Blender Gallery.  In 2018 he presented his sold-out Greatest Hits: George Michael at Black Eye Gallery.
