In a joining of two absolute powerhouses in house music, Brazilian producer Bhaskar teams up with West London-based duo JADED for their new release “When I See It,” featuring The Vic. This dark and dynamic tune brings to mind epic tracks from the early 2000s house legends with its fusion of spoken word vocals and seamless sonic production. Opening with rich instrumental melodies, Bhaskar and JADED weave in deep and driving basslines with sparkling synths to make for a track that’s complex and yet utterly danceable. Summer may be winding to a close in many parts of the world, but “When I See It” is guaranteed to keep things hot, hot, hot for clubbing and winter festival season in the tropics. It follows Bhaskar‘s recent curation of CONTROVERSIA‘s Vol. 010 compilation, a remix for Yves V and Sem Thomasson‘s “Sound Of A Beating Heart” and his collaboration with Mojjo and Bright Sparks on “Zombie” on Repopulate Mars. On the other hand, JADED had a stream of successful releases on Diplo’s Higher Ground label with singles such as “Mirror” and “Show My Love,” as well as more original works and remixes on Another Rhythm, Sweat It Out, and more.

“‘When I See It‘ emerged some time ago through conversations between JADED and myself on the internet. I had a tour scheduled for Europe and would be in London, so I reached out to them. We decided to meet and create a song together. When discussing what we were going to produce, I recall that ‘Tina‘ was the song of mine that had most caught their attention, while ‘Welcome To The People‘ was the song of theirs that had grabbed mine. We then talked to find a middle ground between the two, and I think ‘When I See It‘ is precisely that. It has various elements reminiscent of ‘Tina,’ but also many sounds that they used in ‘Welcome To The People.’ As for its genre, I see it as a tech house track but with a more progressive twist. It builds throughout the song, introducing a new element with every break, every drop, showcasing this progressive nature. Regarding its similarity to ‘Tina.’ I undoubtedly wanted to create a follow-up to ‘Tina,’ but I aimed to deviate slightly from its original vibe to reinvent the sound rather than just continue it. I believe ‘When I See It‘ does echo ‘Tina‘ but in a lighter way, more accessible, for instance, in its lyrics, which aren’t as heavy as ‘Tina,’ neither is instrumental. So I see it as a ‘Tina 2.0‘, but lighter and more digestible.” – Bhaskar

Bhaskar

Bhaskar began his history in 2004, still at age 12, when his first project with his twin brother Alok started. It all began as a hobby, but in a short time, they were already splitting their time between the studies and the studio. Son of renowned DJs Swarup and Ekanta, Bhaskar was inspired by his parents’ success and soon started to tour the world playing his music. Throughout his career, the Brazilian has collected a few hits to his name, including “Fuego” (157M+ Spotify streams) and “Infinity” (137M+ Spotify streams). His talents have led him to collaborate with and remix artists, including Tomorrowland resident Yves V, Moguai, Dubdogz, Wankelmut, Lucas Estrada, the Brazilian pop star Anitta and his brother Alok and Brazilian fellow Vintage Culture. Bhaskar has some more surprises up his sleeve, and we can’t wait to see what’s next.

JADED

Known for their bumpy house-driven records and a knack for making groove-laden club-ready anthems, JADED are a living embodiment of London‘s world-beating underground house scene. With Iranian, Italian, and Irish heritage between them, Nari and Teo cite London‘s cultural melting pot as their primary inspiration. From pirate radio & formative nights at Fabric and Ministry Of Sound to early grime pioneers such as Dizzee Rascal and Kano, as well as pioneering dance acts such as The Prodigy, Groove Armada, and Basement Jaxx, the trio draw from a rich pot of influences to create their unique sound. As producers, songwriters, and multi-instrumentalists, the tight-knight duo is full of boundless talent and creativity, which has helped them cultivate a sound from a broad sonic palette whilst also making records for many other artists within the dance world. Over the years since they formed in West London, JADED have made a name for themselves internationally, and recent releases on Diplo’s Higher Ground have helped them make a bigger dent in the underground dance scene. Having topped club charts with “Welcome To The People” and achieving Top 10 spots with further releases, the trio have earned widespread support from high-profile DJs such as DJ Tennis, Diplo, LP Giobbi, Fisher, Carlita, Claptone & John Summit, to name a few.
