From out of Melbourne, indie-pop artist Simon Tselios has spent recent years developing a strong core sound and voice that has propelled some heartfelt and personal songwriting to the fore. In 2024, he introduces himself to more audiences, first with his track ‘Burn’ and now, with the release of his new single, ‘Blue Car’.
The single marks a solidifying of Tselios’ warm and nostalgic tones, his is music that has a listener yearning for memories and times gone by; offering up an opportunity to escape for even a few minutes. Recorded at Melbourne’s Beat Tank Studios, engineered by Ben Hense (Archie Roach, Missy Higgins), ‘Blue Car’ is a song that Tselios wrote out of a feeling of aspiration and wanting to chase his dreams.
“This song is all about escaping reality, going to a place where everything is exactly how you want it. This song was written in my early ‘20s. I was working as a sales assistant and after one of my shifts I thought about how great it would be if I could actually do what I wanted to do, rather than what I have to do. I wrote all those feelings down and made this song.”
