Music Victoria Offering Free Memberships ‘Til The End Of The Financial Year

Victoria’s peak body for contemporary music Music Victoria is offering support during the COVID-19 crisis by offering FREE one year memberships!
Music Victoria acknowledges the hardship faced by the music community during the Covid-19 crisis and is offering support to the sector by making their annual membership free for one year whether you’re an individual, a band, or a business* (membership usually ranges from $33 – $440, depending on the membership type).
This offer is open from Monday 4^th of May – Tuesday 30^th of June 2020.

This is just one way Music Victoria is helping the music community, which has been hit hard by this pandemic.
They’ve also been offering free weekly online workshops, conducting industry roundtables to connect affected members of the community, and advocating to get the big issues communicated to government.
By signing up, you’ll not only be accessing member benefits, you’ll be helping build support for the Victorian Music Industry! The more numbers we have, the greater our collective voice.

A great reminder of this is the 2010 Save Live Australia’s Music (SLAM) rally, where a crowd of more than 10,000 people brought the CBD to a standstill in support of live music venues. At the time, Victoria was the only Australian State or territory without an independent non-for-profit contemporary music peak body to represent the industry’s interests and communicate needs to government.  Music Victoria emerged from the community’s commitment to ensure Victoria’s live music scene had an all-important voice for the future.

As a non-for-profit, Music Victoria relies on the financial support from its members to support and advocate on behalf of the sector, however it’s important at this crucial time that no one is left behind and everyone can access Music Victoria’s services. It is strongly encouraged that people donate what they can when signing up if they are in a financial position to do so.
