Imogen Moon (from Vancouver) has had an incredible turn of events while putting together her new record. The Dap-Kings have jumped on as her backing band, and Ian Hendrickson-Smith (The Roots) is producing. The result is the upcoming album ‘When They Start Rebelling’ – out July 21.
It’s a really interesting project – as the music on the album consists of new recordings and a re-imagining of Imogen’s grandfather Doug Randle’s 1971 album for CBC, entitled ’Songs for the New Industrial State’. The album has become a cult classic over the years with DJs all over the world trying to track down copies of the record. She is gonna be a superstar, so y’all better pay attention now!
