There’s a certain thrill that comes when a producer hits their stride — that sweet spot where instinct meets innovation and the results are impossible to ignore. For Australian producer and DJ HARLEY GIRL, that moment is right now. Fresh from dropping two recent crowd-pleasers, Gimme ! and The Music (which also teased his forthcoming EP), he’s back in full force with a brand-new single, Turn Up The Sound.
The track is a blistering, high-energy ride through the heart of the club — the kind of record that demands to be heard on a sound system turned all the way up. Drawing inspiration from the UK garage revival and weaving it into a vocal-driven framework, HARLEY GIRL’s latest offering is a confident step deeper into the sounds currently lighting up his creative process. Touchpoints include rising talents like Club Angel, Charlie Shell, and Osmosis Jones, while nodding to the genre-bending energy of Mura Masa, Nikki Nair, and DJ ADHD.
“It was super fun to make and even more fun to play out,” HARLEY GIRL shares. “I wanted to lean into the UKG, vocal-forward stuff that’s been inspiring me lately.”
And that fun is infectious. Turn Up The Sound lands as a sharp, dance floor-ready anthem that feels tailor-made for late nights and festival stages. There’s a playful edge running through the track, but it’s backed by the kind of production precision that shows HARLEY GIRL isn’t just experimenting — he’s evolving. Fans won’t have to wait long to experience the track in its natural habitat either.
As with his previous releases, Turn Up The Sound is a deeply hands-on project. Written and produced by Connor Grant (aka HARLEY GIRL), the track was mixed by Grant and Doug Wright, mastered by Ryan Schwabe, with artwork by Leo Horton and photography by Will McLeod — a creative lineup that mirrors the track’s energy and ambition. For HARLEY GIRL, this isn’t just another release — it’s another step forward in a rapidly building story. One that’s defined by fearless experimentation, an ear for what moves a crowd, and a growing reputation as one of Australia’s most exciting names in club music.
HARLEY GIRL will be behind the decks at Spare Time Collective’s Halloween Party at Echo & Bounce in Brisbane on October 31, before heading across the Tasman for his New Zealand debut as part of the SLACKBARN 2026 lineup at Black Barn Vineyards on January 10. If Turn Up The Sound is any indication of where his live sets are headed, these shows are going to be something special.
