Reflective, compelling, and utterly captivating, First Nations singer-songwriter and visual creator GLVES weaves another impactful track in collaboration with uber-talented female producer/artist Arrowbird for International Women’s Day.
Teaming up with Arrowbird, an Australian Greek/Cypriot and Filipino singer-songwriter and producer from Gadigal country (Sydney), they have written and produced a soul-stirringly beautiful track called Change. Reminiscent of Agnes Obel and Aurora, it is an ethereal, dark and bittersweet work, encapsulating the intense process of realising you need to let go of someone you love because you see they cannot change and the ensuing agony. A mesmerising and beautiful timelapse of the cover art being illustrated by Timothy Wood will be released to accompany the piece.
GLVES advocates for women’s rights and truth-telling; she also works for Women’s Legal Service Queensland. Her Legacy music video won Best Cinematography in the 2021 Reel Music Video Awards, and her Heal Me Music video was Highly Commended in the 2021 Queensland Music Awards. Just announced on Feb 24, Legacy was Highly Commended in the 2022 Queensland Music Awards, and she is also one of 3 Emerging Artist finalists in the 2021 Australian Women in Music Awards to be held in May 2022.
