To celebrate Starcrawler‘s live Australian debut, the Los Angeles-based rockers have announced a special headline show at Melbourne’s rock ‘n’ roll institute Cherry Bar on Monday 13 January. Lead by the untameable stage presence of vocalist Arrow de Wilde, Starcrawler‘s glammed up, punk ‘n’ roll live assault is not to be missed. Tickets on sale now.
Starcrawler are currently in Australia for their very first time, supporting fellow Californian natives The Growlers. With three shows down, Starcrawler join The Growlers on a further nine dates down our golden coastline stopping in most East Coast centres and surf breaks across QLD, NSW and VIC, inclu
The tour follows the release of Starcrawler’s exciting second album Devour You – a record that dynamically captures the essence and aggression of their gloriously unhinged live shows. Devour You is available digitally and on limited edition black/red marbled vinyl, with a scratch and sniff sleeve via Rough Trade / Remote Control Records.
Starcrawler—vocalist Arrow de Wilde, guitarist/vocalist Henri Cash, bassist Tim Franco, and drummer Austin Smith—is a band possessed by the spirit of its own hometown of Los Angeles, every movement charged with a primal and manic electricity. The band formed in 2015, and since that time have gone from bashing out songs in the garage to earning legendary fans such as Shirley Manson and Elton John, and to supporting the likes of Beck, Foo Fighters, Spoon, The Distillers, MC5 and more. Devour You was produced by Nick Launay (Nick Cave & the Bad Seeds, Yeah Yeah Yeahs, L7) and came to life at the famed Sunset Sound.

Epizode Festival ups its game again this year with the news that it has formed a creative and technical partnership with Sila Sveta, an interactive media, production and conceptual design company, for the production on the Main Stage.
Says Natasha Rogal, CEO of Epizode festival, “It’s the first time in 4 years we make a step forward and deliver a brand new concept on the Main Stage of the festival. It’s become possible thanks to a cooperation with one of the most talented and professional teams in the industry. I am beyond excited because this will bring a new element of creativity and change the entire experience for our festival goers on the Main Stage!”
Sila Sveta, a stellar interactive media studio, has collaborated with SETUP, an outstanding lighting design studio, to re-invent the central arena with simple linear structures empowered by bold light and video content to create a massive installation. In the very centre of the ensemble will be an intricate experimental object that explores the volume and geometry of a cube.
Sila Sveta are the first call for every outrageous, unthinkable and unknown possibility in the field of digitally immersive experiences. They create content and provide the management necessary to install and produce any kind of show. Their studio has a unique working pipeline making it possible to deliver its exquisite product with unusually fast turnaround. There are several strong design teams in the studio, each lead by an exceptional art director. This flexible combination makes it possible to work on projects in completely different fields such as 3D mapping on buildings, holographic performances and lighting shows, all at the same time.

Oscar L, Dee Montero and David Morales have signed a new round of remixes of what is one of Nómadas’ most iconic tracks, Chus & Ceballos’ album released in 2015.
OUT NOW ON BEATPORT
We’re going back in time to 2015 to place ourselves during the release of “All I Want” feat Astrid Suryanto’. A track that was Nómadas’ fourth single, Chus & Ceballos’ first album after more than 15 years of producing. An LP that was born under the inspiration for their performance at Burning Man and that resulted in an outstanding project.
Now, for Stereo’s 20th anniversary, it’s time that “All I Want” lives a second golden age with a new load of remixes. Back then it was Technasia, Henry Saiz & Marc Marzenit and Fernando Campos that were on remix duties remixes. Now it’s Oscar L, Dee Montero and David Morales who will be taking over those duties.
If the original track was characterized by an organic and ethereal rhythm, Oscar L takes it to more earthly lands where the vocals transfer the prominence to the percussion. That added to the synthetic hints results in a strong and quick track. Dee Montero gives to the track his characteristic sparkle right from the start with a new deep nature. Sharper than the original, the track still has persistence. David Morales, on his side, gives us two reinterpretations. The first one a Red Zone Dub in science fiction code. A track in which the prominence is the percussion resulting in the almost total disappearance of vocals. And the second one a Diridimi in which the vocals get their presence back, but at the same time the percussion is lightened with the introduction of more air.
This “All I Want” ‘s new round of remixes is available on Stereo from 2nd of January.

The HeatWave fundraiser set up by bands who were set to play Falls festival last night has raised over 5k for the CFA. WAAX, Teen Jesus & The Jean Teasers, Bakers Eddy, Cry Club and TOWNS came together to put on a show at Stay Gold in Brunswick, and with less than 24 hours notice had sold out the venue.
Falls Festival were forced to cancel their Lorne event due to extreme weather conditions and fire threat at the 11th hour, leaving many bands without shows to play over the New Years period. Rather than resting on their laurels, WAAX from Brisbane, Teen Jesus from Canberra, TOWNS from Adelaide and Bakers Eddy and Cry Club from Melbourne decided to band together to support the Victorian CFA. Profits from ticket sales raised over $4000, and the venue, Stay Gold, also donated a portion of bar sales from the night taking the total to $5800.

Following their successful debut earlier this year in Barbados, Vujaday Music Festival has returned to announce a stacked phase one lineup in preparation for their second year. The 2019 edition will take place from April 3-7 and will once again take place in different venues all across the stunning Caribbean island. This will give festival-goers the chance to take in a new experience and venue each day.
The phase one lineup for Vujaday 2019 features legendary Welsh DJ and producer Sasha, a DJ set from iconic Canadian electronic duo Bob Moses, Detroit house and techno staple Moodymann, All Day I Dream founder Lee Burridge, a live performance from the Detroit based sibling duo Octave One, Vivrant label founder and renowned Swedish musician Jeremy Olander, Brooklyn house duo Bedouin, Life and Death founder DJ Tennis, Berlin house aficionado YokoO, members of the fan-favorite Desert Hearts collective Mikey Lion and Lee Reynolds, American production duo and Crew Love members Soul Clap, Women on Wax founder DJ Minx, Sheik ‘N’ Beik founder Rechulski, respected Toronto resident Nitin, and fellow Toronto native and current Barcelona resident Jade.
Many more names will be added to the lineup in the near future. Vujaday will also be announcing what venues they will be taking over shortly, and have also announced they will be hosting a new daytime party series for the first time this year. Details regarding this exciting new addition to the already jam-packed Vujaday experience will be announced as the festival nears closer.
Venue highlights from last year included Bellevue Plantation, a 100-acre property built in 1735 that included a pool, polo fields, and lush gardens surrounding the property. Another favorite was Cornwall House, which allowed those in attendance to witness a breathtaking sunrise while overlooking the gorgeous Eastern Coast of Barbados. Other venues were located directly on the beach and gave those in attendance the chance to sink their feet in the sand throughout the event.
With its dedication to providing attendees with an experience they’ve never seen or felt before, Vujaday pulls all the stops to create an unforgettable journey for attendees. The event spans over the course of five days, allowing festival-goers to be fully immersed into the culture of Barbados while traveling throughout the island to experience the unique venues that Vujaday takes place at.
Early bird tickets for 2019 are currently on sale and can be purchased here. Super early bird tickets have already sold out. More info about travel and additional details can be found on the Vujaday website, and you can watch their 2018 aftermovie to get a better taste of what the festival has to offer.
