Open-air French techno gathering Family Piknik completes its full line up for Saturday 25th and Sunday 26th of July in Montpellier, France. Playing across three stages, including one secret stage, will be the likes of Charlotte De Witte, Dixon, Artbat, Erol Alkan, Adam Beyer, Mind Against b2b Recondite, Popof b2b Oxia, Fisher, Worakls Orchestra and Monolink both live, Riva Starr, Detlef, Rex Axes live and many more.

The first phase of tickets are already sold out for this iconic festival. The ninth edition is another open-air extravaganza with special lighting, world class sounds systems and all sorts of extra food, drink and entertainment to make this the ultimate techno-fest. The big news is that all of the stages will be open from noon to midnight meaning that the usual Sunday pleasures turns into a full weekend extravaganza this year.

Created as a totally unique concept in France, open to all generations, Family Piknik has managed to be the most friendly open-air event around electronic music, gathering festival ravers from more than 30 countries. People can bring their own pique-nique to enjoy the green park of Grammont and chill in between two dance steps in front of the most talented international artists. Ecology will be one of the main focus points of 2020, with a no-plastic policy to be applied for the first time, though innovative actions yet to be announced.

Say the festival owner Tom Pooks, “2020 will be a serious transition for us as it will be the first time we are open on two full days, so it’s never been more exciting for us. Last year, we had the honour of welcoming many living legends, many from the first leading generation pioneering electronic music, from Sasha to Carl Cox through Sven Väth, Hernan Cattaneo, John Digweed, Josh Wink… So for this year, we’ve decided to open our stages mostly to the new generation, like Charlotte de Witte, Artbat, Fisher going through a bunch of other new talents combined with more established names (Adam Beyer, Dixon, Erol Alkan, Riva Starr..) and exclusive performances like this never seen B2B between Mind Against & Recondite. As always, our line-up tends to represent the one and only big electronic family, from micro-house to peak time techno through all these house sub-genres. Our challenge is to be a friendly gathering for all kind of electronic communities, sharing the same love and passion for music under the trees, during a whole week-end of pure madness in the sunny south of France.”

On Saturday, Stage 1 is a fully 100% live show showcase, while Stage 2 is all about  tech and jacking house and the third and final secret stage is where to hear ethno, deep and micro house. Sunday, day two, sees Stage 1 offer up the best techno in the world, Stage 2 goes deeper with more melodic and progressive house, and the secret stage deals in ethno, deep and hybrid house.

Saturday featuresFisher, Popof B2B Oxia, Dennis Cruz, Super Flu, Riva Starr, Detlef, Cioz B2B Sam Shure, Quenum, Pontias B2B Theus Mago, Time, Ki Yera, Mood Gorning B2B Albanø andWorakls Orchestra (Live), Monolink (Live), Giorgia Angiuli (Live), Wehbba (Live Station), Red Axes (Live), Gheist (Live Hybrid), Ruede Hagelstein (Live) and The Dualz (Live).

Sunday is all about the likes of Charlotte De Witte, Adam Beyer, Mind Against B2B Recondite, Dixon, Artbat, Adana Twins, Mathame, Denis Horvart, Erol Alkan, Tom Pooks B2B Joy Kitikonti, Sébastien Léger, Monkey Safari, Mandana, Abstraal, Frankyeffe, Timmo and Blanc.

For the 3rd year in a row, Family Piknik will tease its 2020 main event with several tour dates across France between March and June (Lyon, Toulouse, Paris…), including its famous Boarding to Family Piknik event taking place in Montpellier airport on June 6th. This event is also not to miss because you can dance next to the planes, with artists like Sven Väth on board.
The scene is now set for the most famous festival in France to grow, expand and improve once more in 2020 as it raises the bar for music lovers once more.

The first wave of acts includes The Chainsmokers (exclusive - their only French festival appearance in 2020), Paul Kalkbrenner, Kaytranada, Stephan Bodzin, Boombass/Cassius, Guy Gerber, Folamour, Mathame, Artbat, Boys Noize, Meduza, Sam Paganini and more. The many festival-goers from all over the world who attend the three day event  will be delighted to dance non-stop on the most beautiful beach of La Croisette, on the roof of the Palais des Festivals et des Congrès, and sink their feet in the water at the Red Bull Enigma party on Sunday, as well as get down at the after party in the Rotonde Riviera until early morning.  The Festival Village opens from 2:00 p.m. and always pays special attention to the comfort of the public with a beauty corner, many fun stands, chill out in the gardens of Square Reynaldo Hahn, catering offer for all tastes (burgers, vegan, pancakes, Italian ice cream, sweet, salty) in collaboration with local food trucks, and much more.  The first open water party in 2017 on the Palais des Festivals beach was a resounding success. It is an event within the event with a stage set up on the water and hundreds of giant buoys distributed for the delight of festival-goers. 2020 will repeat more of the same on Sunday from 2.30 p.m. The afterparties are always a great success. The Rotunda of the Palais des Festivals, which is used to hosting congresses throughout the year, will once again be transformed into an ephemeral club, an indoor dance floor with a capacity of 5,000 people with an original concept and scripting concocted by a collective of local artists, so festival-goers can extend the party until 5 a.m. Live the backstage VIP experience: Festival-goers can access the premium spaces with a view of the main action and get skip-the-line entrance, a personalized welcome with a hostess, a dedicated bar with paid food service, in short making it a special way to experience the festival differently. YAEJI Announces mixtape WHAT WE DREW 우리가 그려왔던 Released April 2nd via XL Recordings Watch video for lead single ‘Waking Up Down’

written by the partae

NYC-via-Seoul electronic producer, DJ, and vocalist Yaeji has announced the release of a new mixtape titled WHAT WE DREW 우리가 그려왔던, due out April 2 on XL Recordings / Remote Control Records. To introduce the new project, her first full-length mixtape and release on XL Recordings, Yaeji has shared a new animated music video for the lead single ‘Waking Up Down’.

Inspired by classic anime opening sequences and based entirely on Yaeji’s own original character designs and illustrations, the music video for ‘Waking Up Down’ was created by Yaeji with direction and further illustration by her close friend Annie Zhao and production by Studio Yotta.  Entirely self-produced, the song walks the line between DIY pop and underground club music, with English and Korean lyrics about the simple euphoria of young adulthood. Throughout the song, Yaeji celebrates the little things in life, small victories like staying on top of to-do lists, making home-cooked meals, and having empathy for others, while admitting these don’t come easy. In the end Yaeji, with the help of some friends in the form of “masters” of her daily tasks, achieves her final form as she reaches her goals.

WHAT WE DREW 우리가 그려왔던 is titled intentionally; for Yaeji, the title captures the spirit of the project as a whole which she explains, “is so much about friendship, family, gratitude and support – support that I’ve felt, that I’ve given, and that we all share.” Produced entirely by Yaeji over the course of two years, she started writing the music for WHAT WE DREW with no specific narrative in mind, each track becoming a snippet of her life, a look into her diary. This total sense of freedom in her newly-built design and recording studio in Brooklyn allowed her to draw on a wide range of sounds, including the Korean indie rock and electronica that she listened to as a teenager in Seoul, and late ’90s and early 2000s hip hop and R&B she grew up listening to. The guests featured on the project represent her community in New York City and beyond, including Brooklyn-via-Oakland rapper Nappy Nina, London performance artist Victoria Sin, London producer Shy One, and Tokyo DJ and producer YonYon; tracks like “FREE INTERLUDE,” featuring Lil Fayo, trenchcoat, and Sweet Pea, capture the open and collaborative spirit of afternoons at Yaeji headquarters. Although the mixtape is much indebted to Yaeji’s newfound laser-focused creative vision and self-taught production work, it’s largely informed by her network of close-knit collaborators and friends.

Since the release of Yaeji’s 2017 EP’s (Yaeji and EP2), which broke her out as one of the most exciting new voices in dance music, she’s produced remixes for Charlie XCX and Robyn, sold out two headlining worldwide tours, and was included on the BBC’s Sound of 2018 list. In the midst of her swift rise, she has remained devoted to New York’s underground dance music scene; in 2019, Yaeji curated and organized Elancia, a massive Brooklyn warehouse rave where she gave her favourite local parties headlining slots. An artist who many pegged as the one to watch, Yaeji now aims beyond expectations, with an eye toward the worlds of music production, visual art, game design and more.

Today marks the release of HAWA’s debut EP the ONE via b4 / Remote Control. The EP centers on the women HAWA loves: those who she plays and those who play her. The 8-songs written by HAWA, which feature production from Tony Seltzer, Cadenza, Oscar Key Sung and others, include recent singles 'IPHONE' - a melancholic Hip Hop call for romantic ceasefire - and 'MY LOVE' - a vulnerable track in which pleading for a lover to stay has never been so danceable. New single 'FRICK' is a quick-paced ode to her baddie and its video directed by Keenan MacWilliam is a cinematic Runaway Bride meets Bonnie and Clyde set in the snowy backwoods. The 19-year-old who graduated from high school this past spring began her musical career as a pre-teen touring the world as one of the youngest-ever composers for the New York Philharmonic after immigrating from Berlin, where she was born to West African parents, to NYC. HAWA’s insatiable creativity became stifled by the classical world’s stuffy limitations so she broke out. The pivot toward an authentic musical representation of herself has already paid off. Her recent singles have earned attention from Vogue, Pitchfork, FADER, Notion, i-D, Dazed, W Magazine and many more, and garnered collaborations with Telfar and Gap. the ONE is released on b4, a future-facing label launched in 2018 that serves as a home for tomorrow’s most relevant artists. The music on b4 is a reflection of the genre-smashing landscape, where prior categories no longer apply. This is b4’s first-ever EP release. b4 website | instagram | facebook | twitter

With previous events garnering International Attention – one particular piece entitled “Ven a la Luz” by Daniel Popper went viral in 2018 and instantly made AWM an International Sensation. Through enabling the power of art, Graziano and the rest of the AWM staff aim to “use art as a lens for which to view all aspects of environmental issues facing our planet today.” With one of the festival pillars “Care with Me” – the event will raise funds for Environmental Protections in the region, educate both locals and foreigners about “Ethical Tourism” as well as inspire local businesses to take part in cultural initiatives such as beach clean ups, sanctuary sites & similar environmental programs.
According to international travel blogger Jim Dobson who covers a wide array of stunning artistic & wellness encounters; “Art with Me*GNP is a unique mix between “Burning Man & Art Basel.” This echoed by Kate Raudenbush – a Burning Man veteran – who will also be attending AWM this April.
Feel the music this year with a powerful lineup including artists like Acid Pauli, Easy Star All Stars, Feathered Sun to name a few. Experience works from the likes of Charles Traub, Sculptor Laura Kimpton, and Carlito Carvalhosa among other Affluent Artists. In terms of Wellness programs, you will have the privilege of participating in Mayan Clay Ceremonies, Plant Medicine Healings, Cacao Ceremonies, traditional Mayan sweet lodges and much more – a truly Immersive Experience that will leave a lasting impression.
Don’t miss this unique artistic encounter on April 22 – 26, 2020 in Tulum, Mexico. More information can be found on the Art with Me website where both tickets & hotels are available at discounted prices. For an unforgettable, awe-inspiring experience – visit artwithme.org Right Now.

At some point in roughly 2004, Adelaide rock band THINKTANK disappeared. Maybe it was a "hiatus"? Perhaps an extended break? Potentially a break-up, but without a final show, no ever really knew. Now , Almost twenty years later...... It's time to revisit where their hearts started, to remember those convictions still held, and to stand right beside you singing. One last time. SERAPHS COAL - The resurrection is over but don't be sad. Seraphs are saying thankyou to all the people who made the shows so special by doing one final show. They will be headlining the night and to help celebrate they've just released a new (old) record. "OUT OF TIME" is a collection of songs written in the mid to late 90's, freshened up and recorded at Ghost Note Studios in January 2020. ANTISKEPTIC - It’s been over ten years since the original lineup of rock band Antiskeptic finished up after a ten year career that spanned a massive 1000 shows worldwide. So, it is with HUGE excitement that we can announce the return of this much loved trio to Adelaide, one of their most requested cities to visit. With a newfound fire and passion burning brighter than ever, this is not just a reunion - ANTISKEPTIC ARE BACK. S.T.R -These guys need no introduction. One of Adelaide's hardest working pop punk bands threw in the towel around 2005 and promised to never play again. We were told over and over a sold out reunion in 2011 was "more than enough" & "you're a glutton for punishment", but here we are. We also hear from the grapevine there might be a vinyl of "When Words Fail" released for the show. This massive night will be opened up by no other than Adelaide's MOVE TO STRIKE, also reforming for one more goodbye. Friday May 29, The Gov - Adelaide - Doors 7pm ONE SHOW ONLY. 50 Minute Sets from all 4 headliners. Bands from 720pm. Tickets on sale 9am (SA Time) March 12th from www.chopdogentertainment.com.au and www.oztix.com.au. Set your alarm, because these will not last long.

What is your name and role within Fossa? Hey guys, thanks for having us! I’m Nick, and I play the role of composer / producer for Fossa, and perform synths for the live show.  Where are you currently based and what is the music scene like there? We’re based in Leeds, England, having all met at the music college here back in 2011. The music scene is incredible here - there are tonnes of independent venues, playing everything you could imagine. There’s a particularly thriving guitar, and underground electronic music scene as well, which is how we got into making the music we do today!  How did you first start playing music? I’m actually predominantly a saxophonist, having studied jazz performance as my undergraduate. I was brought up listening to jazz 24/7, and was playing with bands from a young age, ranging from metal groups to big band work! Since graduating, a bunch of my friendship group started to explore other sonic realms, and slowly started to expose ourselves to electronic music, which is where my interest in learning to produce came from.  What's been happening recently? Me and Tom (drummer in Fossa) have recently starting composing together more regularly which has been really fun. I found myself hitting a bit of a wall a few months back, and was struggling to come up with song ideas I was really digging. But now we can bounce ideas off of each other, write more interesting drum grooves, and have found a bit of a new sound we’re settling on. We’re hoping to keep this going and work on the debut Fossa album. Your new single 'Evolve' will be out on the 13th of March, what influenced the sound and songwriting for this track? There’s been such an incredible amount of electronic music being released recently, and every artist I’ve heard has influenced it in some way, but if I had to pinpoint a few, it’d have to be the latest Floating Points record, Bonobo’s recent singles and Four Tet. I think I was also binge watching Stranger Things at the time, which looking back on, seems to have had some sort of influence as well!  How did you go about writing Evolve? Evolve was one of those rare occasions when I opened Ableton, and it all just happened within a day. I spent a few hours, as I usually do, messing about with some synths until I hit a sound that felt right, and took it from there! Tracks definitely usually take a lot longer, and lot more frustration is involved, but this time was very smooth - hence the title.  Where and when did you record/produce and who with? When it was fully ready, we took it to a fantastic studio in Leeds called the Nave in October last year, and worked alongside our good friend Tom Orrell, who helped to record the drums for it, and also did our final mix. We took an interesting approach with this one, sampling live drums, so that we could maintain the metronomic drum style required for this type of music, but still maintaining a human feel to it. We were super happy with the results!  What programs/instruments did you use? Writing the music always happens in Ableton, and we also use this software to perform live as well, alongside Moog and Dave Smith hardware synths, and always live drums.  What do you like to do away from music? I love to travel (although haven’t had much opportunity recently) as much as possible. I’m also getting very into photography, and cooking has been a long time passion of mine as well!  Who are you listening to at the moment? Despite the type of music we’re putting out, I’m really into guitar music at the moment; bands like DIIV, Parquet Courts, and Real Estate are topping my Spotify plays at the minute! Electronic music always has it’s place however, and am really into a local artist called Jinjé currently. Rival Consoles and Four Ten are definitely up there as well!  What's planned for 2020? We’ve got two more singles to put out which we’re really excited about, and am in the throws of writing our first full length album as well! And as always, trying to play as many shows as possible! (any promoters out there, hit us up!!)  Favourite food and place to hangout? Mexican and Indian food top my list! Walking about Leeds’ independent venues such as The Brudenell and Hyde Park Book Club are always good stops as well for a drink and chill!   FACEBOOK | YOUTUBE | INSTAGRAM | SPOTIFY | WEBSITE

GIRLS OF THE INTERNET ANNOUNCE THEIR SECOND ALBUM WITH NEW SINGLE ‘I DON’T WANNA LOSE YOU’ ‘GIRLS FM’ IS THE FOLLOW UP ALBUM TO ONE OF 2019’S BBC RADIO 6 MUSIC ‘ALBUM OF THE YEAR’, ‘SYRUP’

DRAB QUEEN
GIRLS OF THE INTERNET – ‘I DON’T WANNA LOSE YOU’
FT. OLIVIA LOUISE

OUT NOW

Girls Of The Internet have been on an unstoppable trajectory over the last few years, with their brand of future facing house and soul music. They now step into the new decade with ‘I Don’t Wanna Lose You’ ft. Olivia Louise, the first single taken from their forthcoming second album ‘Girls FM’ out on their own Drab Queen imprint. The album will follow the Girls Of The Internet signature sound and individuality, with the singles artwork featuring a newly painted piece for all nine signatures by Girls Of The Internet’s writer and producer, Tom Kerridge.

“The new album as a whole, pushes the role of Girls of the Internet ‘the band’ even further than we did with “SYRUP”. I have grown up around sampled music, and I love it dearly, but how much longer can we keep pinching loops from 70’s soul and disco records? We play every rhodes piano, every bass guitar, we write our own songs. I want to see house music moving into the future, and that seems difficult if we’re still sampling the same records they did in the 90’s.”
– Girls Of The Internet

2019 saw them release their debut album ‘SYRUP’, to universal acclaim. Achieving the accolade of being included in BBC Radio 6’s ‘Albums Of The Year’ List, further radio support came from esteemed broadcasters such as Gilles Peterson, Mary Anne Hobbs, Tom Ravenscroft, Mista Jam, Nemone, Lauren Laverne and Toddla T. Playing at iconic venues around Europe, Girls Of The Internet has earned key stamps of approval across the board from The Black Madonna, Basement Jaxx, Claptone, Axel Boman, Nightmares On Wax, Joe Goddard, Motor City Drum Ensemble, Saoirse, Mark Broom and Horse Meat Disco.

After fielding offers from a variety of record labels, Girls’ have decided to keep hold of their independence and the rights to their music, joining a long list of successful artists who are taking on the music industry on their own terms.

“I was very keen to work with Olivia again – she delivered the standout cut on our debut, and aside from “When U Go”, it’s the track we get most attention from. Our mix of techno/disco with her breathy R&B is so interesting to me, and a concept we are continuing through “Girls FM”.”
– Girls Of The Internet

Setting the scene of what’s to come, ‘I Don’t Wanna Lose You’ sees the band take the conventions of disco and house and propel it into the future. Featuring vocalist Olivia Louise, who appeared on one of the standout tracks from 2019’s, ‘SYRUP’; Olivia delivers her trademark smooth RnB vocals over Girls’ disco bass, saturated analogue chords and thumping drum machines. Girls Of The Internet deliberately blur the lines between electronic and live music. In a world of sampling others, Girls proudly create their own sounds.

Launching in the latter half of 2019 with an EP from an unknown artist, Nastia’s Ukrainian, NECHTO Records emerged from a distinctive and thriving techno scene, rooted in the purest sense of underground culture. Setting out to curate dancefloor-focused techno that gave particular platform to the underground rave sounds of Ukraine and the wider Eastern Bloc region, NECHTO promised raw techno energy with no compromises. Entering into the new decade, the second EP release is set to land from mystic-futurist, producer, DJ, Voin Oruwu; the first named artist to join the family.   Moving under a number of aliases, the Voin Oruwu guise of Dimitry Avksentiev is a multi-faceted character principled with both post-apocalyptic and euphoric rave sensibilities. Born out of the 2013-2014 Ukrainian social crisis, the sound of Voin Oruwu sought to channel the atmosphere of this period, one that, in his own words, felt markedly ‘post-apocalyptic’ and so formed the beginning of his story. Already unravelling his story, his releases to date have followed long-play formats, with his 2018 ‘Big Space Adventures’ album landing via Russian techno, electro outfit, Private Persons, he followed this run of form with the 2019 ‘Etudes from a Starship’ album via leftfield Ukrainian label, Kvitnu. Joining the well-documented Kyiv-based rave crew, CXEMA, as a resident, Voin Oruwu is becoming a figurehead within the Kyiv scene.      Debuting on NECHTO, Voin’s EP marries elements of tension with elicit dancefloor power, informed most notably by his residency as a DJ in the thick of Kyiv-based rave. The trance groove of ‘Iterance’ evokes emotions of togetherness, whilst ‘The Ticker’ combines assertive pace with lighter breakbeat patterns. The unhinging, ‘post-apocalyptic’ roots to Voin Oruwu show through in the looping craze of ‘Circuit’ alongside the bubbling anxiety and flitting pads of ‘Disturbing’. Directly inspired by CXEMA raves, digital bonus track ‘Sunray’ encompasses a true taste of the Kyiv gathering; the sun rises at 7am and 2000 bodies meld together on the floor.   To celebrate the release of NECH002, NECHTO also announce their first label party to be hosted at Kyiv’s world-renowned club, Closer on tonight. Label head, Nastia invites Spanish machine wizard, Orbe to play live, along with Dutch selectors Deniro and Dimi Angelis who join for a B2B.    Voin Oruwu’s ‘NECH002’ EP is out now via NECHTO Records   Connect with NECHTO Connect with Voirn Oruwu

"“Cynical Serene” is typically, wondrously PEARS. It’s 139 seconds of punk fury with a vocal breakdown seemingly recorded in scenic Laurel Canyon, California, enhanced by bongloads of righteous boo. (Spoiler alert: That’s where the “serenity” comes in.)."  -ALTERNATIVE PRESS   “PEARS high energy tracks have stemmed from their deeply seeded punk roots that have defined a resurgence for their musical scene with their own brand of hardcore-punk.” - HYSTERIA MAGAZINE  Some of history’s best punk bands came and went before they had a chance to get comfortable (and boring), so it’s not surprising that PEARS frontman Zach Quinn had doubts when it came time to record the band’s third full-length. While PEARS have only existed since 2014, maybe a couple LPs and hundreds of explosive live shows were enough? “I was perfectly prepared to have my Blue Album already,” Quinn says, laughing. “That whole fucking cliché of ‘Our best record’s behind us.’ With the release of PEARS on Fat Wreck Chords), Quinn says, “Maybe not!” But there’s no maybe about it. PEARS is a significant step forward for a band that has grown by leaps and bounds on each album. Recorded with Chris Fogal (The Gamits) at Black in Bluhm Studio in Denver, PEARS is 14 songs and 31 minutes of the band’s signature hardcore: heavy, melodic, blistering, pointed, and surprisingly catchy. While it continues down the path set by Green Starand 2015’s Go to Prison, PEARS finds the band taking a different creative approach. “The last PEARS record, almost every detail was worked out before we ever stepped foot into the studio,” Quinn explains. “This record, we went in with skeletons of songs and put things together on the fly. ” “We never could afford the studio time to be in there 24/7,” adds guitarist/vocalist Brian Pretus. “A couple of songs ended up being stuff that we wrote on the spot.” Those include “Naptime,” which moves from loping pop to group-chant hardcore in the space of two minutes, and penultimate track “Traveling Time,” which Pretus describes as a “palate cleanser.” Basically, a mid-tempo pop song, “Traveling Time” began as a Quinn solo track but found its way onto PEARS thanks to the band’s more open studio approach.  “Collectively, we figured we’ve danced around pop music our entire career so far,” Quinn says, “but we were like, ‘Let’s just do a full-on fucking pop tune. Why not?” “Full on” is a good descriptor for PEARS in general. The album opens with feedback at the beginning of the riff-heavy “Killing Me” and closes when the even riff-heavier “Cynical Serene” (whose opening plays like Nirvana by way of Hum). In between are 12 songs that shake with can’t-sit-still energy, as the band—rounded out by the ace rhythm section of bassist Erich Goodyear and drummer Jarret Nathan—shifts on a dime between parts and sounds. Elements of prog and grunge intermingle with classic hardcore and hook-laden rock—and it can happen in the space of one song. (In this case, “Worm.”) Atop all of it are Quinn’s voice and words, which took a different approach as well on this album. “I thought that I was going to continue the absurdist poetry thing that started with Go to Prison and amplified on Green Star,” he says. Describing Green Star as “The Iliad with shit and cum,” Quinn notes that this time, “The songs are about shit.” Not shit in the “shit and cum” sense. Quinn writes directly about getting older (“Traveling Time”), moving past anger (“Nervous”), and the prospect of never having a family (“Daughter”), among other topics, all with the wit and candor PEARS fans have come to expect from the explosive frontman.  “It makes perfect sense that this is the third act, but it's not what I would have predicted it to be,” Quinn says. “I wouldn’t have guessed that the album would end on a bittersweet note. It’s more uplifting than either record that we’ve done, but it’s not a happy record.” It’s a great record regardless. PEARS will take it on the road extensively in the coming year, with tours in the U.S., Europe, Australia, Japan, and South America. “PEARS high energy tracks have stemmed from their deeply seeded punk roots that have defined a resurgence for their musical scene with their own brand of hardcore-punk.” – HYSTERIA MAGAZINE

Some of history’s best punk bands came and went before they had a chance to get comfortable (and boring), so it’s not surprising that PEARS frontman Zach Quinn had doubts when it came time to record the band’s third full-length. While PEARS have only existed since 2014, maybe a couple LPs and hundreds of explosive live shows were enough?

“I was perfectly prepared to have my Blue Album already,” Quinn says, laughing. “That whole fucking cliché of ‘Our best record’s behind us.’

With the release of PEARS on Fat Wreck Chords), Quinn says, “Maybe not!” But there’s no maybe about it.
